Every experience I have had in this shop has been nothing but a great one that I cannot help but leave with a curiosity for more. Besides the unique and original materials that are within the shop, the customer service has been excellent. The owner of the business always has a smile on his face and he puts his customers first before anything which is something that not all businesses can say they do the same. Something as simple as a great conversation goes a long way such as the energy of the shop. Comforting and yet familiar, a business that anyone can feel comfortable in as they go back in time looking around at all the pieces contained in the shop.

The proprietor of this store is a genuinely nice man. It is very clear from the experience that I had going here with my friend that he has a genuine love of coins and wants to share that with the world. I was blown away by how well we were treated, as new coin collectors ourselves. I will definitely be back and be happy to spend money, knowing Im not only able to grow my collection, but also allow him to spread the joy of coinage, if only in our humble town of Longmont.

Sellers beware. Tried to rip my sister & I off when offering to sell him the family silver. He underweighed it- scale not visible to us- and undercut the price of silver. I knew his price was off so left his store and made a few calls. Chamberlain offered us $582 for what he told us was 4lbs silver. We had previously weighed it at home around 5-6lbs. We left and were able to get $1177 at Erie Gold & Silver, 15 minutes away. Erie weighed the silver in front of us and it was indeed 5lbs on the very same day so same rate per oz of silver. Scam.

Great hidden gem Downton. Great silver rings and coins selection. Knowledgable and friendly staff. Most fair prices in northern Colorado I got for my stuff. I love shops like this - it brings you back in time since the first moment step in the door.

I bought a silver bracelet at this establishment. It was braided silver and marked 925 solid silver. After wearing it for several months night and day, I noticed it was leaving my skin dirty. I took off the bracelet, and looked at the other side it was a copperish color. So yesterday I went in to tell the owner whom I bought it from that it was miss marked and sold to me as solid silver. He was not there but his subordinate was one of the rudest young women I’ve ever run across in my life. She treated me as though I was less than, and that I was some kind of crook for coming in and telling them they sold me something that they misrepresented. I am not saying that they did on purpose at all, but the way she treated me was atrocious. I would not recommend shopping at this place to anyone.

Mark is extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. I learned so much. He is professional and happy to help. I will be definitely be coming back here.

After checking around for pricing, I had a pretty good idea how much my gold was worth. I only brought in one 1/4 oz. gold coin. I was so impressed with the price I immediately went to my truck and got 11 more and sold them as well. If in doubt you can always go to the coin ship next door and compare prices. I am pretty happy with my transaction.

Not sure why I still venture into this place. The owner is always hostile and unfriendly. Probably wont get my business anymore. I will travel out of town for my silver and gold from now on 👎

Chamberlain is always a great local business to find U.S. coinage, and also some foreign coins. Mark is a kind, helpful owner who is knowledgeable, and is willing to take the time for amateur and experienced collectors alike. The store is organized, and there is a good selection for a city the size of Longmont. The American selection is varied and priced right, and there is a bin of foreign coins where many great deals are. Highly recommended!

Sellers beware! Came in to sell an 1890 S Liberty Head $20 gold coin. Very good quality. Most of these coins are going for around $2000 and offers me $1150. Gold price today was$1700 and heading anywhere but up. Your loss. Dont step into this place. I plan to sell no questions asked to someone else for $1700. I am looking out for those that need advice.

Been in a few times but never bought anything because the premiums they charged was huge. Over $5 for Silver Eagles. 15X face for junk silver when spot was only 12X. That means a 25% premium on basic silver. Do yourself a favor and before you walk in look at the spot price for the metal and the sale price plus shipping from an online dealer is so you know what a fair price is.

A few years ago, I came across a few pieces of old silverware, realized it was real silver but had no idea at all of the value. Took it to Chamberlain, thinking I would maybe get somewhere around $30 for it. They gave me over $200. Super impressed with their honesty, they could have totally ripped me off and I would never have known.

I first went into Chamberlain to buy some gold and silver. I quickly found they had very little interest in serving me. The older gentleman behind the counter seemed to want nothing to do with a customer and just wanted to talk to his friend sorting through some pennies.When i finally spoke up and mentioned i was looking for some gold and silver i got an abrupt We dont have any gold but the silver is over there and he pointed to a case with a just a few dinged up $35 1oz Xmas art bars. that was about it in regard to precious metals (excluding some Morgans). Gold and Silver is in their name and they dont appear to stock either. my dreams of leaving with a new stack of silver & gold dashed I left.I Called the store a couple weeks later wanting to send off a coin for grading. I spoke with a woman who said that shouldnt be a problem and that they use NGC for grading. But today I called back to make sure the person who knew the process was there and was im told they dont offer grading services at all (the coin is in the $1500 range so its not a too junk to bother grading issue).Im under the impression this store is at the whim of whomever is working the counter. Ive been collecting coins for 30+ years and to be honest the place has the same feel as a shady flea market seller.

They seemed very interested so I took it down, and they bought most of it! I think the price was fair, and the service was excellent! I was very pleased with the transaction. I went in to sell a gram of platinum and palladium and he gave me a few dollars short of spot price!!! I really wasnt expecting that much, because every other place Ive been to have tried shorting me on everything. Theres a lot of cool stuff in there and Ill definitely go back to do business n hopefully trade with him.

After visiting this store and chatting witih both the Owner and the Store Manager, I was surprised to find a review here that was derogatory toward the business. My son is an avid coin collector at age 19. He started over a year ago and has found a passion for studying history through coins. Mr. Chamberlain took the time to chat with my son regarding his collection and ended up handing out two free buffalo nickels to both my son and daughter. His wife then came out of the back and offered me a networking connection I needed for my business and the Store Manager, Lexi, took the time to get to know us since weve just moved to Colorado from Ohio. I assure you, if you are a serious coin collector or you have a collection from an estate that you need to have honestly appraised, this family-owned business will gladly help you. Just dont show up 15min before closing time, pull some coins from your pocket and expect them to jump for joy that you have a Jefferson Nickel for sale!

Very professional service and better value achieved than at other local competitors.

Went there 3 times, and knowing the price of the market on Sliver, I always seem to get short changed by them. Bring a smart phone with you when you sell your silver to them. They cut about 2 dollars from the actual price on anything over 10 oz and about a dollar on anything below 10 oz. Say if todays price is $20.25 and you sold your 2 bars of 5 oz, they should own you $202.50, but they short change you by giving you a round number...to $200. I tried to fight for it, but they just shrug it off.However, I do like their settings of the store. Just make sure you have something to back yourself up when youre selling something to them.

DONT WAIST YOUR TIME DENVER!!!!! I was referred to Chamberlain by a co-worker. I live in Denver so I called before I left. I explained the coins I had and the girl that answered said she would buy anything that i brought up, but they closed at 5:30. I raced up to Longmont, only to be told that I had junk and basically get out because they were closing. Dont waste your time Denver, these people are EXTREMELY rude and will tell you ANYTHING you want to hear over the phone. Go to Dave at mile high coin. Hes local and hes fair. Dont mess with Chamberlain. Ill NEVER step into Chamberlain again!!!!!!

Interesting place to look over there foreign coins

Just stoped by to try and sell some silver for what seemed like a reasonable price, spot price was $16 and I was told the best they can do is $14 flat, what a joke. when I bough my silver the mark up was .50 cents at JM Bullion and was told he would buy it back for .50 less then spot. to bad there isnt one close. If you have silver you want to buy or sell your way better off selling it online.

Its a business. The man I worked with was fair. Not nice, per se, but he made a reasonable offer and stuck to it. Thats really all I could ask for. Id go back again.
