Best place to have your bike worked on. Once I got a flat that needed more then a patch, acme got me out within 15 minutes. Then 45 minutes later on my ride, my break started acting up, took it back to acme who had it for 45 minutes and reset the break. Please understand that the workers, they are busy rockstars, so to be able to get back out on the road so quickly is awesome.Great work and customer service at this place. I had a flat tire and was a walk in. They fixed my flat in a few minutes despite being very busy and booked out for services. Kindness is everything.

Super nice store, awful sales staff. I was there for 10 minutes before anyone approached me. I was the only one there. I was looking for a Trek bike and had some questions before buying one. The sales person didnt even let me ask the full question before he answered No. It wasnt even a yes or no question. Decided to go to a different bike shop in FC and just bought my Trek. I just felt that my precense was bothering the sales staff.

Had service done on an older, used bike I had purchased. Acme did an EXCELLENT job on the tune up, clean up and tire replacement. Did everything I requested and looked after a few things I didn’t realize needed updating. Used bike is now like a new bike. Quality work and fair pricing. Definitely a positive result.

I purchased a bike from Acme about a month ago. The service was excellent and the owners knowledge was the best. For once, someone took the time to sell me a bike that was the correct fit for me. I cycle double what I used to simply because of two things. The bike fits me correctly and the Specialized brand of bikes is a fantastic bike. If you want a bike, go to Acme. You will be taken care and have a bike that will last you years.

Helped me with a new bike build and was a great experience. Also gave me some tips in regards to the carbon fiber frame and a few other questions I posed. Had the bike back to me in one day and I couldnt be more appreciative.

Bought a few kids bikes and helmets. Brought in a few for tube replacement, small repairs, etc. Super nice people and very fair prices. Fast quality work and great customer service. Cant recommend enough! Buy from them!

I came in looking for some parts, thinking I could DIY a repair. The owner listened to what I had to say and (correctly) diagnosed the problem as different from the one I expected. He said replacing the part I really needed would require a special tool that I dont have, but with part and tool in hand they could do it so easily they wouldnt charge me for labor. Once I brought my wheel in, he realized he had to order the right part to fit my sons bike, but that ended up being at the low end of, or possibly below, the price range he had originally given me.While I was there, I asked about some other items I thought I could use, and he took the opportunity to explain why I probably didnt need them. Very helpful, forthright, and honest. I will definitely be returning when I need anything bike related, and I would highly recommend them to others too!

I highly recommend Acme Bicycles for seasoned cyclists and families alike. My family and I have had 3 excellent experiences with Pete and Acme Bicycles since we moved to Longmont. Every time, I’ve rolled out of the friendly local shop with that refreshing (but rare) feeling of comfort and satisfaction - with a twist of giddy. Best part is how genuine and knowledgeable Pete is - and committed to helping find the right fit for every rider. I’ve had my mountain bike spruced up, my road bike tuned and most recently found the perfect bike for my 12 year old. My daughter came into the shop with a narrow idea of what she wanted. Pete spent time educating both of us on the options, and most importantly – asking questions to learn about our riding plans for today and in the future. My Tween appreciated feeling like her goals and interests were truly cared about – as did I – in seeking a safe, memory-making, wise investment. Pete set my daughter up with a helmet and a test drive, and the decision was easy from there. The service topper was how Pete added a kickstand and water bottle cage to the new bike while we ran errands. Love that look of giddy comfort on my daughter’s face when we ride!

A transplant to Colorado, and I live in Estes Park. I was desperate to find a solid local bike shop somewhat nearby that could help me with my recent wheel/tube issues. I happened upon Acme Bicycles and after reading the history of the shop, I thought it sounded like a real LBS. I was beyond pleased with my interactions with the owner and mechanic. They were knowledgeable, not pretentious, generous with their time, and kind to a disheveled woman desperate to fix her wheel. Thank you Acme! You have my full support!

Pete at Acme Bikes is awesome! I took my bike in for a tune-up. I showed up as he was closing (not that I recommend this), but he was very gracious. He took the time to look at my bike and give me a very honest assessment. Its not about selling something to you, but about helping you make a good decision for you. He also treats you with respect which can be hard to find in a bicycle shop.

I have been going to Pete for a few years now. Its really hard these days to find a bike shop where the owner cares more about getting you into the right bike and taking care of you as a customer than simply making as much profit as is possible. Thats why I take all my bikes to Pete and buy all my bikes from him. The quality, attention to detail, and price point are outstanding - plus Pete and Jared are both great to work with, and very knowledgeable and helpful. Acme Bikes will continue to get all my business as I hope they will continue to stay in business for many, many years to come. So if youre looking for a great local bike shop, youve found it!

Hands down the BEST bike shop in Longmont, maybe even Boulder County. Personally, when the service I received wasn’t as expected, I wasn’t charged for it. No discount and apology, it was completely free of charge! Now that is customer service! Good businesses ensure that the customer leaves 100% satisfied, and Acme Bikes is a GREAT business! I could not be happier with the mechanical service quality and customer service quality. I brought in a bike with two flat tires, dirty, needing a gearing issue fixed. I was not rideable as it was. I talked to the owner and he quoted me a price and gave me a two week turnaround. I was happy. Then he called me the next day and said it was ready and the price was lower than the one he quoted me. This place is top shelf with ultra reasonable prices.

So much about this shop reminds me of my childhood spent at my familys bike shop. From the moment I walked in and seeing the vintage cycling photos on the wall to hanging out with the owner Pete Shones around the repair stand, I got the sense that there was a much deeper story of how and why Pete put everything on the line to open up ACME Bicycles over 10 years ago. He has a rich family history in the sport and it shows clearly in his approach to customer service, his character and how he honors his grandfathers historic contributions to cycling. Pete is friendly and approachable, just as I would expect any shop owner to be, but sadly that isnt always the case. The repairs to my best friends bike were completed in a timely manner and priced in line with what I would pay anywhere else for a great experience.Thanks Pete!

I will have to agree with everyone comments and rating on ACME. I was treated like a human being who is a valued customer. The level of respect and customer service was satisfaction guaranteed. I decided to go to ACME because I previously went to a local bike shop that made me felt ignorant about fixing and getting my bike fix as if I was a barrier. I will never go to that shop again so that is how I found ACME. I was very nervous and hesitant when I call ACME due to previous experience with other shops. I need my bike fix for Bike to Work day so I called ACME and asked about the issues with my bike. Immediately they told me that what they were able to do and that they hardly ever have customers leaving the store without something they need. It was absolutely true for my experience. I took my bike in and they were able to fix it within an hour. Richard help me from the beginning until the end. From the phone call, the visit and educating me about the issues with my bike, I am very thankful for him and his service. I will be doing business with ACME from now on and no one else.

I have been using Acme for parts and service for a little over a year. About a month ago, I had a flat and needed to replace an inner tube. I purchased two at the time so as to have a spare if I needed it. Last week, my other tire went flat and I needed to replace it on the side of the road. In the process of changing the tube, I lost one of the springs on my quick release. Not only did I lose the spring, but the new tube burst once inflated. Yesterday, I was able to get in to Acme where I told Pete what had happened. I went to purchase three inner tubes (one to replace the one that popped and two as back-ups for later on) and a new spring. He was really cool and only charged me for two of the tubes! Tubes pop frequently because of the dry climate and its a common problem. I was ready to pay for all three and it was really cool that Pete was willing to do that!!

Called two bike shops in town and this one was by far the nicest didnt really know what I broke on my bike but he helped me figured it out gave me the price I was looking for. overall amazing service. Would recommend to anybody!Amazing service amazing review!

The people were nice and they had a reasonable selection of parts, but they didnt allow returns, even on unused parts, and since I wasnt sure if the parts would fit my bike I had to go elsewhere. Its a smaller shop, but if they had a good return policy I probably would have become a regular customer. Instead Ive settled on the Bike-N-Hike just south of them. The bikenhike also had lower prices, so its a win-win.

I will be recommending Petes services at Acme Bikes to anyone and everyone!! I came in shortly before closing and he was more than happy to change my bike tube. It was after hours by the time he was finished and then decided to tune up my bike without me having to ask for such services (free of charge). Overall, my experience was absolutely phenomenal!

Pete, the owner, is a long time bicycle guy. He knows his stuff better than anyone! He always takes time to talk and get to know his customers needs!

Took my bike in to have tires an tuneup 2 weeks later i walk in to check on my bike howner had 5 other bike leaning against my bikeHis attitude was if i didnt like take your bike.When they finally got to my bike they never put my tires on never did tuneup i took my bike elsewhere this bike shop sucks

We recently relocated to Longmont and our bikes were in need of repair. A little labor and a few parts came with an extremely reasonable invoice. Soon after my boyfriend took out his bike, he had issues with phantom shifting, wobbly back tire, and a broken chain. My boyfriend discussed the issue and offered his opinion on what might need to be done, including a new tire, rim, heavier duty chain, etc. Imagine our surprise when we got a phone call saying that the only issue they found was a loose screw!!! They tightened it up and got a new chain. Again, for an extremely reasonable price. They EASILY could have taken advantage of our repair suggestions and we would never have known. INTEGRITY my friends. INTEGRITY. Support local businesses!!! (thanks again, Dave--elke and mike)
