I am so pleased with the way my hair came out! I had Adrianna do my hair and she did an excellent job creating natural looking highlights. She also listened attentively and asked questions to make sure that she cut my hair the way I wanted. I would definitely recommend going to her. And the salon was very clean and there werent alot of people which I appreciate at this time.

Ive been seeing Melissa for a few years now, following her from when she was in Evanston. She is an absolute whiz at color!! I am 90% white but color my hair red. I came to her at first to get a correction and she did such an amazing job I continued seeing her. On my last visit recently I was looooong overdue for a color due to Covid and had tried an at home color in the meantime. We, of course, had to do another color correction but I also able to change things up and go with a much lighter copper red. I really appreciate the steps Asha has taken to keep both guests and stylists safe. I witness the cleaning of all stations and tools, there are clear barriers between stations and of course everyone is wearing masks (properly!). I may not get the couple of niceties I normally would but knowing they value our safety above all more than makes up for that!

I am so grateful for everyone in the Asha family at Butterfield! Melissa has been doing my hair for the past three years after a woman at another salon fried it with bleach knowing that the last time my hair touched bleach I ended up losing 2/3 of it. Melissa was able to not only get my hair back to its platinum blonde (without using any bleach) but nursed it back to health and prevented me from losing even more length. She only worked one block from my work at the time and Butterfield is a much longer commute, but she is 100% worth the trip! She always listens carefully, tells me exactly what she is using and why, and makes sure I love my hair when I leave. I trust her completely with my blonde hair and won’t see anyone else. I have even asked her to do my hair for my wedding because she is THAT good with both color and styling and I wouldn’t dream of anyone else touching my hair for that. She really is an artist.Cheryl also used to work at the Asha close to my work in Evanston and is now at Butterfield and she is wonderful. Whenever I call and hear her voice I know I am in good hands. They are courteous and kind and I always feel so relaxed there. I have really missed them during COVID!

Melissa has been coloring and cutting my hair since the beginning of the year. I saw her right before the lockdown and havent visited a salon since. I just got my hair re-colored and cut. I cannot say enough about this experience. The salon was spotless and all staff were adhering to safety guidelines for COVID19 infection prevention. Melissa immediately disclosed all practices for the day and answered all of my questions. Of course I love going to Aveda simply because of the wonderful and talented stylists and great touches, i.e. tea, head massage, etc. However, it was just as great of an experience without those things BECAUSE they adhered to safety practices while still pampering me! This just shows how much they care about their clients. As a future nurse, I am proud to receive services from a company that truly cares and takes every precaution into account. I would recommend this salon to anyone!!

I received a Spa gift at Christmas and found Asha Salon Spa online. The massage I chose was all about relaxation. It was one of the best massages Ive ever had and when I left all the little aches and pains were gone! The atmosphere at Asha immediately sets the tone as you walk into a bright, stylish salon. You are then guided to the waiting area for your spa services which begins the relaxation. With the high ceilings, low lights and beautiful decor you begin your journey of blissful pampering! The complimentary steam shower at the end completed the feeling that I had been transported from everyday challenges to a tranquil place of relaxation. I left feeling relaxed and refreshed. I have been going to Asha Salon Butterfield since they opened.I am always greeted by name and the front desk girls are always very friendly! Deb does an excellent job with my color and Max at cutting!Sipping on Aveda tea is so relaxing, and now sipping on a glass of wine is even better!I recommend this salon to everyone!!

I usually only go to Asha for massages, but today I went for a brow design. I saw Melody, she was very professional, and knowledgeable. She even gave me some pointers on how to fill my brows to achieve the look I was going for! Cant wait to see her again!

I go to this spa regularly for waxing and hair styles and love it. For the people complaining about the price, its most likely because they did not read through the price list first. Be sure you ask to get a stylist at the price you want, and talk to the specialist before you get waxed to be sure its something you want to do.All in all, I love this place. Its clean, convenient, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend it.

She not only does a fantastic job on my hair, she is also fun to talk to and treats me as though we have been friends forever.I would not think of going anywhere else. I am very particular about my hair and have been looking for a place closer to home (for months) due to my busy work schedule. I finally bit the bullet and give Asha a chance. IM SO GLAD I DID! Deb knew exactly what she was doing and I felt very comfortable. The salon itself is very nice and the price is reasonable as well. We went for a couples massage yesterday and I told my masseuse my lower back was my main problem area. Within an hour after the massage, my lower back was throbbing in pain. I should have known when she spent more time on my sides?? Than my lower back. When she was working on my calves, it felt like all she was doing was running her pointer finger along my main artery and shin. Finally she played with my hair more than giving my head a massage. My hair stylist does a better head massage than that. To say i’m disappointed is an understatement.

Nice atmosphere, services are typically very good. They won’t allow gratuity to be added to your credit card, nor will they accept a check over the service amount for cash back for gratuity. They do have an ATM in their lobby so you can pay a $2.75 fee to get cash for the gratuity. For a nice salon this is really poor. They also said I could write a personal check directly to the technician. Seems unfair to make the technicians deal with getting checks.

Went here for a massage the other day. Had never been before but I hears good things in the past. I ended up going with the Road Warrior massage which is a full body massage that goes from soft-ish pressure and then they work up to your firmness comfort level. Massage was great, I like that they consult you about your smell preference, pressure preference and they do a mini foot cleaning/massage to begin the session. They have private changing rooms with lockers for your stuff. To finish, you absolutely must use their rain shower. I would equate it more to a light waterfall in the best way. The water was powerful and heavy but not so much so that its uncomfortable. I could have stayed standing under that water for an hour. Seriously, try it out.

Worst experience ever, left in tears and seemed like no one cared. Went yesterday for a bleach touch up by Katie. Didnt expect any problems as I had a color consultation with her last Wednesday, she said it would be no problem. All was well until she passed me off to another stylist so she could conduct an interview to a potential employee. Skyler then took over and was rinsing our my toner. She shampooed me around 5 or 6 times and I had a gut feeling something was wrong. We went back to her station, I looked up to find my hair was PURPLE. Not just a tint of purple- all purple. Skyler said is it too purple? We could try a beige toner over it to get rid of some of the purple. I said yes to the beige toner as I cannot leave with purple hair, I work in health care with cancer patients and need to look professional. Skyler applied the beige toner, meanwhile I kept glancing in the mirror to see the purple changing over to a muddy brown (as you can see by my yelp photo, my hair is platinum blonde). Katie then came back over to check on Skyler and this beige toner. They both agreed it looked better and it was time to rinse it out. Skyler rinsed out the toner and kept saying well at least you wont leave with purple hair, so I thought all was well. We goTo her station again, I look up and there it was ; ashy/brown/muddy/greenish hair now. I said its brown now!!!! Skyler offers to go back to the shampoo bowl to try and shampoo me again to try and fade out the toner a little bit or she tells me to try the same process at home. Umm what???? So a professional salon cant fix this? The recommendation was to go home and shampoo it myself and give it a few days to fade or I can try to lighten you again . Lighten me again??? So I can leave bald?! I was so furious and distraught and just wanted to get out of there I said fine Ill try this at home myself and give it a few days. The best part is....Katie never came back to check on me or check me out ...AND...Had the audacity to still charge me $95 for this mess on my head. Skyler said we gave you 20% off. As if they are doing me a favor for their faulty work. At my consultation Katie said I would be out the door at $100, so how is $95 20% off of $100?!?!? I did not argue with them as there was a lady standing next to me at the front desk, other clients getting services, and I just really wanted to get the hell out of there as my eyes were welling up with tears. How can you charge a client for purple hair, pass her off to another stylist, make her try to fix it, and never come back to see the final ugly color? Poor customer service. I feel ripped off and deceived and my hair is not what I was promised, I have been up all night crying over this. (Oh, but my next service is free!!!! What a deal, because Ill never go back there). Even Skyler said I wont be able to sleep over this.. Also Skyler told me that aveda doesntMake products to make this icy platinum blonde that I wanted AKA a bleach touch up....So why did I waste my time with Katie and a colorConsultation and she said it would be no problem. And again, why was I charged for two people messing up my hair, and I still left the salon with no resolution to this. I really hope to be contacted by a manager to share my displeasure regarding my experience yesterday. I will not return and I look forward to going back to Mario tricoci Too and paying $220 for a bleach touch up, at least I know it will be money well spent and the color I asked for. Skip this place people. Especially if you want to keep your blonde hair. Also, I got home and found my oatmeal colored tunic to be all full of purple toner....so in the garbage that shirt went.

I received a gift card from a friend for my birthday to have a relaxing spa day. Called 3 weeks before my appointment day to ask if they even take Spafinder gift cards and if it would cover my services. Front desk lady assured me they did but wouldnt in the month of July. Therelaxing day finally came and Tina and Poppy were awesome. When I went to check out to my surprise front desk girl said they only take Spafinder gift cards for massages and facials. Had I known that when I called and specifically asked I would of picked a different place. I explained it to the girl and she wasnt taking it, so I ended up paying 150 out of my pocket on MY birthday. Worst Birthday ever and came out upset and stressed out.

I wandered in one summer day frustrated with color that had definitely dried out my hair over the past year, and was definitely in the red spectrum. Being Asian I wanted something a bit more natural looking, so I came in for an evaluation. Britney talked to me about the Aveda color, and reassured me that she could get me back into darker colors without it looking goth, flat or unnatural. She was so right about that! The product was gentler to my strands, and really quite close to natural Asian black. She then suggested Max for a haircut. I could not agree with her more this guy can cut and style hair. Wow!

Update November 2019. I took Asha to small claims court over my missing watch. I won my case and was awarded the value of my watch by a panel of DuPage Court Arbitrators. Asha and their insurance company CNA rejected the award and are still refusing to reimburse me the value of my watch. I now have to go through a second court proceeding in the form of a jury trial, all because Asha refuses to accept responsibility for losing (likely stealing) my watch. I also learned through the hearing that there was an incident on the same day with an Apple Watch. I am sure there have been other instances as well. I would steer clear from Asha.I went to Asha for a facial. The esthetician removed my watch while my eyes were covered and the watch was never returned to me at the conclusion of the facial. Asha claims no responsibility as they have a sign that they are not responsible for lost or stolen items. In 15 years of going to various spas and salons I have never had another person say they needed to remove my jewelry and do so while my eyes were covered. Buyer beware and jump up off the table and leave if they try to remove something. I think they might have a nice circle of theft occurring.

I went to Asha for a haircut. I asked for 1/2-1 inch taken off and I got 3 plus. Of course I didnt know until she got closer to the front and then it was too late to say anything. I walked out with a bob and my bangs were another story. Certainly nothing what I asked for. This was my second bad experience at Asha, the first was a massage and I dont need a third to give me a reason not to go back.

I like getting mani/pedis at Asha. The girls at the front desk are welcoming and friendly. Always ask if Id like something to drink and a neck pillow. The neck pillows are so relaxing. I usually go to Stevie for my mani/pedi. I love the relaxed feeling. Stevie is fun to talk to and I love the arm and leg massages. I will have to go back and get a body massage, as I hear they are very good and relaxing.

Im rarely motivated to write a review, but my recent visit to Asha Aveda SalonSpa in the Yorktown Shopping Center was so disappointing that I feel the need to share it.I decided to take advantage of the 50% off salon opening promotion for a haircut and brazilian wax. I normally have my hair cut by a family friend who trained at with the Mario Tricoci chain and brazilian waxes at an eco-friendly day spa in my home town. It was a cold day, so the Aveda spa had these warm shoulder pillows available. I was annoyed though that these pads were dropped on my shoulders (and hair) without being asked if I wanted one. The spa is a separate enclosed area inside the salon, and I went there first for my waxing. The salon was very bright with lots of natural lighting, which I enjoyed, but the salon was so dark that I was afraid to walk around. I was offered a drink right away, but I was disappointed that it was served in a little plastic cup, especially since Aveda is somewhat upscale and strongly advertises its natural products. The simple change to glass cups (and biodegradable soap) would make a HUGE environmental change, even if the salon diligently recycled all the cups.The room was pleasant and had a nice distracting wall covered in pebbles. I was surprised that the gloves the aesthetician used were the cheap one-size-fits-none instead of the much easier to use medical quality. The wax seemed fine at first, but the aesthetician went over most areas many times and the wax stuck to my skin making repeated attempts painful. I normally dont find waxing to be very painful, but I do usually whimper once or twice. She had a great deal of difficulty with that very sensitive middle area and tried to wax it several times, re-preped it with some alcohol based cream (it burned like alcohol), and tried a few more times. By about the 7th or 8th try, it was really hurting so I told her that if it was just a stubborn little patch, I could tweeze at home. When she finished up she spread oil over the area, which concerned me since my usual salon uses an anti-microbial cream to help prevent infections. She left to let me get dressed, and I walked over to the counter to add oil to some sticky spots and wash my hands. On my way around the bed, my socks stuck to the floor where my aesthetician had been moving wax from the counter to the bed.Next, I waited just a few minutes for my haircut with Brandi. She wasnt very talkative but the quality of her work was great! Her skill was very comparable to my usual stylist and Ill be going back during the promotion.I ran a few errands and went home to wash up and get some anti-microbial cream (one that my home salon uses) on my bikini area. When I looked to see what touch-ups I needed to do, I found that the aesthetician didnt get any hair out of any areas that required skill. The whole area inside of the first skin flap and most of my backside were completely untouched! She had certainly gone over those areas and I only complained at the “one” troublesome spot. I was extremely disappointed since I had specifically asked for and confirmed that everything be removed (i.e. the point of a brazilian wax). My usual aesthetician at home always gives me a nice clean wax and tweezes the little stray hairs without any trouble. Also, in those few hours, I had developed a mild infection in several hair follicles and one of them developed into a more serious infection (big swollen red painful circle on my inner thigh) that is just starting to heal 1.5 weeks later. I know this is completely preventable because Ive been having waxes done consistently for over a year with absolutely no signs of infection.Overall I highly recommend the salon for haircuts but stay away from the spa for waxing. I would recommend finding a competent spa that has a more sound environmental policy and uses Nu-Free wax (its soy based and doesnt stick to the skin so its much less irritating) with an anti-microbial post-waxing cream.
