Dont go here. The staff is very unhelpful and unprofessional. They had some decent comics here and there but their customer service needs a lot of work. Just flat out rude. I have been to comic book stores where they are at least nice but this store not only dosent have good materials but the staff is just rude. Save your money and time

I wanted to take a minute to talk about what a great job you guys did for me recently. I purchased $5,000 worth of books from you guys at a recent auction. Even though I purchased from you before and youve always done a great job on shipping, I was rather concerned about getting these books in good condition. I order a lot of graphic novels from auction houses all over the country and Ive had some issues with other sellers. I received the 20 boxes a books each weighing approximately 35 lbs. Ive got to tell you this was the greatest packing job I have ever seen. You guys did an amazing job. Every single box of books made it in perfect condition. I cant thank you enough, I was really sweating it. I will be purchasing more soon. Thank you

Nice and friendly staff. I’d recommend their auctions and online business but not in-store shopping for comics. There’s a decent selection but zero organization - everything is mixed up.

Stop in to ask a question about comic books had one handy. They said it wasn’t worth anything, that I believe. My problem was the customer service. There was a young lady sitting behind the counter on the phone ( her conversation lead me to believe it was not a business call. Never greeted us, didn’t say one second someone will be with you, nothing. This is a place of business, right? Then after standing there for a few minutes a guy comes up to the counter with this look on his face that read, “what do you want “ not a welcoming how can I help you . You can tell when you are somewhere when you are not wanting. I got that feeling. It just made me feel some kind of way, not in a good way. I left and went up the street to a different place and I knew it was not just me. The atmosphere was totally different and they had customers. They still managed to greet us and make us feel like we just killed their dog. And they gave me a lot of information that I need it. So boost up your customer service, no one should be made to feel like that just because they walked into your place of business.

I cant say enough good things about these guys! Andy is incredibly honest (at the expense of his own profit.) Instead of a low-ball offer on my collection, he advised me to NOT sell him my stuff outright, but rather auction my items to get the largest return. He easily couldve taken advantage and didnt. Its wonderful to know that good people still exist. Ill be a customer for life.

I had a wonderful experience selling some of my vintage toys and comics to Pete and crew at Back to the Past! They were kind to speak with me at length on the phone, schedule a mutually convenient time for drop off, and provided a great offer with a fast turnaround! Even as Im trying to purge my collection before moving out of state, I couldnt resist picking up a few new items from thier awesome showroom -- truly a treasure trove where deals abound!

Excellent shop with a great and knowledgeable staff.Their back issue pricing deal ($2 each x 25, then $1 each) is actually a really good deal when you look at the condition and overall selection. Ive paid $2 for a $2 book and $2 for a $5 book, good deal if you ask me.The variety of items from comics to toys to records to coins to old concert playbills is excellent.I usually stop in to see if they have any new graded or silver age items (they usually hold Silver and Golden Age for their weekly auctions) and they are the only shop Ive found in SouthEast Michigan that actually carries storage boxes for graded comics.Keep up the good work, guys!

If you like comics and collectibles this is a must visit store. Great selection of new and vintage comics. They had toys, records, movie posters you name it they probably sell it here. They also have auctions at this location and if you like their page on facebook you get updates of new items or stuff going up for auction.

Worth the visit. Was driving by and saw the name. Thought I would give it a try. Wife found a bunch of loose action figures that fit in her collection. They have collectable new and used. Not just toys..also good selection of records, posters, comics, cool stuff. Knowledgeable staff. Looking forward to a return visit.

I called to ask if they had loose masters of the universe merchandise. I got a little attitude but thought nothing of it when they said sure. I headed over and instead of anything substantive I found a glass case with like 8 figures and a castle. They werent standing so I dont know if their legs were any good, they were priced the same I could get online if not more, and locked behind a case that I couldnt access.Im sure in other genres they are wonderful but I saw little interest in helping me as a customer or in what I am looking for. They waved me over and no more assistance after that. I did not feel like I could talk to the clerk without being sneered at so I left after looking around their shop a little.I wont be back. I feel I wasted gas driving thirty miles to find people with no interest in discussion or being helpful

While I miss the old store as it was a little closer, Andy & the gang at BTTP still due a tremendous job week after week. I live far away so I dont pop in often, but I feel like a regular. Enjoy the auctions and Greg/Andys commentaries during it are honestly fairly entertaining. Bottom line, these guys know their stuff because they are collectors too. They have also helped me with special requests at no extra charge. It is their passion and it shows. Do yourself a favor and check them out whether it be for new issues, back issues, toys, or their ever-popular auctions.

Back to the Past Collectibles is pretty cool...I do like that its a big, open warehouse type building so theres plenty of room for a lot of stuff, and you dont feel crowded while browsing. That being said, I think the comics could be reorganized to free up space to showcase more of the collectibles. Ive found some really cool items but theyre tucked away in a cluttered corner of the store while the comics take up rows and rows of table space.I usually leave with something, but it always feels like I overlooked a bunch of stuff just because I couldnt get to it.

Back to the past is by far the best comic/toy/classic memorabilia shop in southeast Michigan. If you are looking to sell your old toys or old collections look no further, this is the shop to bring them to. They pay top dollar for your items and treat you with kindness and respect every time. I have had to downsize because of moving, and sell alot of items I have collected over the years and taken them here to sell. I have dealt with Pete each time and he has been AWESOME. He researches the items I have brought in and given me a fair & honest quote each time. So if youre looking to sell your old collection look no further, this is the place to bring it. Cant say enough good things.

Told me to stop by the store coming from 40 minutes away so they could check out my rare 60s and 70s Matchbox/Hot Wheels collection. The guy looked at my collection of about 35 cars for a total of 30 seconds and said he didnt want any of them but thanks for stopping by. I was looking forward to a good experience maybe to learn something about these cars and find out any kind of value they had. Was told it would be too much of a hassle to resell for the store and nothing more. I also had a 1921 silver dollar in great condition with a 1920 exact same coin right there in their display selling for $53. The guy wouldnt even make me an offer, I was told to melt it down for the silver and that they dont melt metals. Very disappointing, and I dont recommend this store to anyone who values collectibles.

I have been to Back To The Past Collectibles several times over the past 5 or so years when they were on Inkster Rd. I liked the selection of collectibles, comics and pop culture items. I thought they had a good selection of all and had them displayed nicely. Recently I had an opportunity to do some unrelated business in the area so I thought Id stop by. I decided to look up their hours on Google. I noticed they moved to a new location nearby. I was excited to check out this new store! My excitement quickly vanished when I got to the new store.....I first went to their comics. Their boxes of generic comics were priced at $2 a piece until you bought 25, then they were $1 a piece after. Whaaaaat? Basically junk non-valuable comics I have to pay $50 for 25 before I get a discount? I can buy those types of comics on eBay all day long for .50 cents or less a piece!!! I found a collection of JSA Classified #1-9, they wanted $24.95 for the collection! I found the whole run of 31 issues on eBay for less than $1 a piece WITH shipping....That was their comics. Their displays for their action figures and other books, records, etc. were very random and sloppy. No order anywhere, and their other store was much bigger and had a lot more room to display items. This new store is about half that size and theres much less on display. Heck, some of their action figures were just dumped into milk crates on the floor.....I was really disappointed in this new location. I think Ill save myself a trip and just buy my collectibles off of eBay. I dont care to waste my time to drive there and get ripped off....Extremely disappointed. This is a perfect example of why brick and mortar comic stores are going the way of the dinosaur, you can find much much better values on eBay. And Im not a huge fan of eBay. Id much rather support my home town businesses, but not when they blatantly rip you off with comic prices.

I won this amiibo from an ebay auction back in March I think it was? Very cheap, only $8.06! Can you believe that?! What an awesome deal! My grandma picked up the item for me from the store out in Livonia, and I was ecstatic when she got home with it! Its June now, and its still in the box, I have no regrets on buying it, nobody else wanted it, and I like Rosalina & Luma (Rosetta & Chiko) a lot, so I gave this amiibo a nice new home to live in. I hope you guys will have some more amiibo up for auction!
