Great store helped me find the right firearm in an unfree state

Best gun shop in the larger Bay Area!!! Super helpful. Best part compared to other gun stores in Bay Area: No lines of waiting In a que outside for hours. Just go in find what you want or have your online transfer shipped here, do your paperwork, and pay. These guys are extremely nice and knowledgeable and friendly and genuine. It’s a business I like supporting. Their in store dog is the sweetest too. Forever taking my business here for now on. Worth the 30m drive from my home!!!!

Edit- Now that Im more experienced I have to change my review. Everything originally posted is mostly true. When I finalized my transaction, the receipt came out ~$10 more than I expected, and when I asked what it was, the salesperson said it was for a lock, and that its required. My PPT was a brand new pistol from a LEO and had the original state approved lock, still wrapped up. The salesperson said we cant use that and it has to be a brand new one from their store.Well that was total BS, and unecessary for me to buy one from the store if I had the state approved lock (which was what I had). Not knowing any better at the time I just agreed. Feels slimy that they used those tactics on someone like me who was newer to the industry and try to slip it into the transaction without even letting me know until after they charged my creditcard. Would have easily spent hundreds more there but theyre not getting anymore business from me. Newbies beware.original reviewGood group of guys there, very knowledgeable and friendly. Still had a fair amount of rifles and a few pistols. Lots of stock for LEOs. I browsed the inventory for a bit and the prices were right.

Expect really good customer service and the best firearm selection in the Bay Area ... They do get busy but when its your turn, its all about you. Support this local business because they support our CA gun rights which are eroding little by little. Randy was the best, rest in peace. Kudos to the excellent staff for keeping Randys dream alive and making it better.

With such a large selection of products online in the endless race to the bottom, its refreshing to find a family run business such as this.The Collins have managed to create a local hotspot for all of the firearms enthusiasts in the area with their extensive knowledge, selection, and fair pricing.If they dont have it, they will get it fast and ensure theyre giving you a solid deal.To top it off, they do not have any attitude regarding transfers and get you in and out very quickly. This is especially nice considering how little they make doing these so I always make sure to grab a few boxes of ammo and anything else I didnt realize I needed after browsing all of the various accessories.

People here are friendly and very knowledgeable, I often get valuable advice from them. Price is pretty reasonable. Today they helped me put on a red dot on a dove tail rear sight for only $20.

It has been a couple of decades since I bought a gun. The last time I bought a gun it wasnt even in this state. Because of this, I wasnt familiar with all the laws regarding buying a gun in this state that are currently in effect. The staff, who are very knowledgeable, helped me navigate the paperwork. Im very happy with my new gun.

Not sure if something has changed over the last few years.Their reviews started well enough. I find them hit and miss. Some folks are really helpful and act like they enjoy their jobs, the others will treat you like you broke into their personal tree house without the secret password. Worth the extra drive to Tracy Rifle and Pistol.

As a gun owner, I would love to support this local business, but their callous decision to disregard my (and their) safety by refusing service to those wearing masks means I will never spend a dollar there, either now or after the pandemic crisis.

Very good place, staff is very nice, knowledgeable and helpful, good selection. Also when I came in there were a lot of people in the store, which is by itself a solid recommendation from the market (and experienced buyers would very likely be glad to share their personal experience with the guns you might be interested in).

Great place. Very friendly and knowledgeable people. They are even open Saturday (10-5), and Sunday (10-3), despite what is on Google.

This place is great for people like me who arent as knowledgable about guns. These people take time to get to know you and what your goals are, and help you pick out the best option for your needs. Ill take my business there for the foreseeable future.

Great selection of accessories and a decent collection of guns when they are in stock. They get cleaned out often but when they are in stock, theyve had some pretty good guns.

What a disorganized mess. Most gun shops run a tight ship and have everything in order to maintain a solid customer base. Not at J&R. This place has the rudest staff, managers, and owners. They are certainly not very knowledgeable and couldnt answer many technical questions. I will never recommend this shop to anyone. Stay away, dont waste your time.
