On two recent occasions Bike Source made adjustments, installs and repairs to a couple of eBike I brought in; no appointment. The work was done the same day at minimum cost. Staff is knowledgeable and super friendly. Best Bike shop!
Chris that runs the bike shop was awesome. He remembered me from working on my bike all the time a few years ago at the other location he was at. He took care of everything that I came in for super quick and for me on the trail today! As someone who manages their own operation, he was the epitome of great customer and contributes to buy I buy and service all of my bikes here.
Dropped my bike off before a big bike trip, but didnt realize my axle was broken. They ordered the part but due to shipping delays it wasnt going to come in on time. I was going to have to spend $400 to rent a bike if I wanted to go on my bike trip. I called and talked to Genaro. I asked if there was anything at all they could do, and Genaro came up with an incredibly creative solution to get my bike fixed on time for my bike trip. AND I ended up paying less than what I was originally quoted. Thank you!
Seriously never come here. I’m only writing a bad review because two incidents have occurred. The first was when I brought my seat dropper in to be looked at and they told me it needed to be sent in for warranty or I needed a new one. Come to find out, the techs didn’t even check the air in it! All it needed was freaking air! Now I bought fork oil to service my wife’s bike and the ACTUAL MANAGER sold me the wrong oil as he had the manual in his hand. I accidentally opened the oil jug right before realizing it would have ruined my fork because it was the wrong oil. So then they wouldn’t let me return the oil or even give me a slight discount on the oil that I actually needed. Bikes are already expensive to maintain and this place makes it worse. Don’t go here it’s a joke. Go to Golden and hit up C3 or really ANY other shop.
I came in the store and was greeted friendly-setting my expectations high but once walking back to the shop I was disgusted. Disturbing rap music was being played loudly. I was denied service because the short curly hair gentleman said he was just too busy and didnt know when he could get to it. Not only was he rude but also dressed inappropriately. He has his shirt unbuttoned so low. Im not sure what is going on in this store but I will take my business elsewhere.
I was pleasantly surprised (with some the supply issues this past year) that my local BikeSource had a great selection of mountain bike tires (multiple brands), including the exact Specialized one (& correct size) that I needed to replace my rear tire.I was also able to get more tire sealant & the exact disc brake pads I needed. The staff was very helpful guiding me right to what I needed.
We were in trouble. I had bled the brakes on my son’s XC bike a couple of times and was feeling confident. He’s racing the State Championships in Durango this coming weekend and was saying they felt like they needed one. I tried again and failed… got to the team practice and the chainstay was coated in brake fluid after trying to bed in the new pads. We packed up and were going to try and find new pads and a rotor after I ruined these last ones. Googled BikeSource and headed over. Got in and they had pads and rotors in stock. We were going to give it another go ourselves since it was late in the day but decided to ask what their lead-time was to get us ready for the last race of the season. They were able to adjust and get us in within the evening and now we know we’re set for Durango on Saturday. The entire team was friendly and a huge help. They’re up at the top of the LBS list! Thank you so much!!! Love having the support of our sponsors!
Chris was amazing.. helped us so much to understand how to work and.. fit our new bikes to perfection!. Gary built my bike on the spot !! We LOVE our new eBikes... if we could rate a 10 we would !! Thanks so much ..
Went in looking for a part. Asked why new bikes are so expensive. These people felt so threatened and unprepared that they literally started arguments to try to stop me from asking more questions. Honestly, why would anyone pay $6K for a new bike? Their response was that “prices go up. Why is your car more? Why have computers got more expensive?” You don’t ask what makes your starbucks so expensive do you? We are progressives over here. Our bikes are progressive! Just like politics.”Well guess what commie…you were talking to a conservative. You progressives have ruined this country. Dont think that everyone is on your side. Apparently, you guys haven’t realized that bike technology has not “progressed” in 15 years. Instead of sitting around and watching TV, why don’t you guys learn to sell instead of trying to start arguments with people asking serious questions? That way you don’t appear to be the communists you are that can only respond to objections with ad hominin attacks. Wouldn’t give these rude little ideologs a penny – and I will smoke em all on the trail with my 2009.
I have visited this shop multiple times over the past few months and each time the staff is helpful and attentive. I’m not sure where the other negative reviews are coming from.
A good place to go to get supplies and they offer a wide range of specialized brand models which are pretty cool!
Came in on a Saturday afternoon to try to size our four-year-old into the right bike, and find a toddler carrier/seat for our one year old. We wandered around for about 20 minutes in the shop. Our son test rode a bike and we read labels on boxes. There were 2 employees on the floor, with minimal other customers. We had several questions on bike sizing,, and waited our turn. On multiple occasions we were disregarded by the employees and never given any level of customer service.Whether they thought we werent actually going to buy something, or were just genuinely disinterested in helping customers, after standing next to a $200 toddler bike for some time.. we ultimately just left. Very unfortunate of a store that has a shop local sticker in the middle of the front window.
Amazingly helpful staff. My husband and I are Physics teachers and needed a bicycle wheel for a demonstration of angular momentum and gyroscopic precession for our virtual classes. The staff at Bike Source were happy to find a wheel that was no longer useable and simply gave it to us. A staff that is that willing to help solve such a random request would certainly be the people to help any and all bicycle related needs. Our students will have a much more complete understanding of a difficult concept because of your kindness. Thank you.
When I was unable to find handle grips for my daughters wheelchair I went here out of desperation and they came through with the perfect replacement! Thank you!
I walked in the shop today with a hand me down juvenile bike today with flat tires and bad pedals for my 4 yr old grandson. I thought I needed new tires but I talked to Lee and he immediately took the bike, pumped up the tires, replaced the pedals and told me if the tires/tubes didn’t hold the air by tomorrow to come back! What a great experience, great customer service and I’ll be back in your shop! Thank you Lee, you deserve a raise!!
Great mechanics here and a good selection of bike accessories.
Go anywhere but here. Worst customer service ever.
The Walmart of Bike Shops, avoid if you can. Covid is making it very hard to find specific bike brands and models. Unfortunately, the local independent bike shops we work with did not have the particular Specialized bike my wife was looking for. One of them suggested looking at BikeSource as they are a large distributor for Specialized. They did have the bike at the University Hills shop. We drove an hour to this location. For that I give them the second star. We spent quite a bit for this rather high end bike. With that kind of spend, I would have expected some attention and service. They eyeballed the saddle height and that was it. All they want to do is sell the bike. I specifically asked if all the additional parts needed to assemble the included bike computer mount. I was told they were. They did not offer to assemble the mount for us. Once home we found that indeed the needed screws were missing. Ok, we thought no big deal we will go to the BikeSource Littleton location which is much much closer to us. The staff at the Littleton store had no interest in helping us, given they did not sell the bike, and told us to go back to the University Hills shop. It was apparent they had little knowledge on a rather common accessory and did not care to learn. In fact they were rather rude and dismissive. The one reason to purchase from BikeSource is you cant find what you want any where else. Do not expect bike fitting or after sales support. You get as much service as you would purchasing a bike from Walmart. By far the worst bike shop experience I have had. Avoid them if you can.
Very polite and helpful. Amazing price for a quick brake adjustment. I was in and out within 10 minutes and my bike feels great now. Will be back next time I need a tune up.
It was a awesome visit!! Not only did they have the bike pump i really needed they answered so many questions that i had about my bike.
Liars or just incompetent?0-star would be more accurate than 1-star.I talked to a salesperson and asked about getting two mountain bike tires. After being on hold for about five minutes he said “Yeah we have them. Or sure, I’ll keep them for you and make sure you get them.” I told him it was a 30 - 35 mile drive and would take me about 40 - 45 minutes. He responded “No problem.”When I got there I met the same salesperson. He went in the store and came back out saying “Gee, I’m sorry. We don’t have those tires”.Really!?! What a waste of my time!Another employee said the store near University & C-470 and the store near Colorado Blvd & Yale had the tires. Responding to my multiple requests he said “No, we can’t call them. No, we can’t verify their inventory. No, we can’t ask them to hold them for you. No, you can’t use our phone. No, you can’t order over the phone anyway.”So I drove to the store near University & C-470 and got one tire. I guess the employee had no clue about this stores inventory - as expected. Then I had to drive to the store near Colorado Blvd & Yale to get the second tire. What a waste of time and miles! So what would you think? Liars or just incompetent?
Only open by appointment. I can’t believe it.I understand because of the virus. However, you could count the customers at the door and only let a certain amount of people in at one time. There are three bicycle shops in Lakewood and none of them will allow a person to go in and shop around. There is a shortage of bicycles. You would think the bicycle shops would want to be open to sell bikes or take orders. Also, people usually buy other things in the store rather than just bicycles. You are losing a lot of customers therefore losing a lot of revenue.
Helpful staff and lots of e-bikes!
Had the worst experience here. I dont ride bikes very much, and asked for a tire...I didnt specify a tube. Guy came out with a tire, and immediately I said o I meant the tube. He replied with an angry WELL YOU SAID TIRE.Sorry i made you walk to the back to get a tire and sorry im not in the bike club in Colorado. Its good to know the workers here are just as rude as most riders who think they are better than cars because they are better for the environment, and better than walkers/hikers because the have wheels and going faster than every one else.
Bought a bike on Friday, same day went for a ride 20 minutes got a flat. While paying for the bike the sales guy said they will tune the bike make sure everything is fine. While riding noticed that the stem is not aligned, they did not even ask me if I want the seat to be higher or lower. Just took the bike from the showroom and sold it to me. Terrible experience.Contacted the manager to resolve issues and give them feedback about their sales process/team the store manager could not care less and no effort to help whatsoever.
Bought a gravel bike there about five months ago; thought it was a newer model, but it was actually a 2016.Except for one or two guy that works there, the staff is pretty rude. Called there once and they said they could true my back tire if I brought it in and that they would have it done for me while I wait, so I brought it in, and some lady there just barked at me and said they were booked up on repairs. She gave me that insincere, Sorry upon leaving, at which point I replied, No, youre not at which point she exploded in this tirade.Wish that bike store by Napa/Harbor Freight was still open. Those people were so nice and reasonable.I wouldnt recommend buying a bike there.
Quick on service and patient with answering questions while in the store and follow up calls to service!
Took my bike in for a simple tuneup on August 3rd at 3:10 pm. I waited for over 5 minutes by the repair area and was completely ignored. There was a male service employee who walked by me and began working on a bike in front of me but ignored me the entire time. There wEre two other employees male and female behind the counter and they too ignored me even when I walked by them bringing my bike back to my vehicle. In fact, one of these employees was the girl who I spoke to as I entered the facility and told her I needed to get a bicycle tuneup. So she knew I was there but didn’t bother stating anything to me or even giving a courtesy goodbye. I guess these guys don’t need the work or the money so I’ll take my bicycle to REI where I can get some real service. I’d stay away from these guys.
Great support and knowledge of bikes. Will only go here for my bike needs.
Employees were very helpful and knowledgeable when answering my questions about a new bicycle. This store literally has hundreds of bikes to choose from. I was able to test ride the bike of my choosing before buying. They also have many accessories to choose from all at competitive prices.
Patient and great staff to work with, they got me up and running.
Tanner does a good job.Great staffYay for bikes !!!
Recently bought a new mountain bike from the store and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and have no problem answering a lot of questions. The service department is top notch and the technicians have no problem stopping to answer question either. I’ve been back several times for shoes and assessor he‘s and some odds and ends for my bike. Thank you bike source!
Excellent! Fast and friendly service very efficient and informative. also very fair prices. Open until 8 p. m. which is extra an convenience for late bikers!
New to biking, looking for a bike helmet. Sales associate was immediately so short and rude with me had to walk out and spend my money elsewhere. Apparently only experts who know exactly what they want are worth their time, gee so sorry to ask questions.
Best shop in Denver. Always have what parts I need or order them in quickly. Highly recommend.
Came in needing my Specialized spider style crank tightened, which conveniently requires a proprietary tool. They knocked it out in under 5 minutes and were very helpful in my search for a few other items. Super nice and helpful staff all around.
Started using this shop for service. The service guys are friendly and knowledgeable. If you ask them to explain something, they will take the time to do so. Service pricing is comparable to others. For major repairs, wait time is pretty good, usually the delay is in getting parts, not with the service team.So far, so good.
Would not recommend them for service. I took my bike in to have the handlebars raised. Quoted $70-$120. Took them two tries to get that right. Meanwhile they replaced my brakes without asking me and my bill turned out to be $220!!!!!!!
I would NOT recommend this bike shop to anyone. We were visiting from out of town and wanted to get some bikes to ride. I called and asked them about the demo/renting bikes. I made sure they had the bikes in the store before we made our way out there. I was told they had the bikes, and that we could come get them. When we got in the store, the man at the counter asked me three times if I was sure I wanted to pay $75 per bike for 3 bikes. He made sure I knew they were $5000 bikes. I was not going to let a little stereotypical behavior ruin my plans with our family. I said yes all 3 times and stated I called and was told it was okay. My sister was in the store and said to her husband that she didnt like how we were being treated. Then a worker in the store said if we didnt like it we could leave. My sister started to tell the guy it was terrible customer service, which he responded that we were not costumers and they could refuse service to anyone they wanted to. He then accused her of trying to get kid bikes in there. I told him nobody asked about kid bikes, which the man behind the counter confirmed. This man was clearly racist, which he showed in his conversation and by trying to quickly get us to leave the store saying they could refuse anyone who walked in. I wonder what criteria is used to refuse service. I think the corporate office may want to look into this to avoid further incidents. We had done nothing wrong. He just didnt want to rent the bikes to us. We still got the bikes, went on our ride and returned them undamaged. The man who caused the trouble was not in the store when we got back. The other guy who helped me finish the check out process was respectful and professional. When I called later to speak with the manager to let him know what happened, he said he heard some of the commotion and talked with they guy after we left. He told me the guy was there IT help. Honestly I was surprised that the manager, knowing what happened, didnt try to talk with us when we brought the bikes back or when the commotion was going on. He did apologize about what happened, but only when I called on the phone later that evening. He did not even offer a discount for the treatment that we received after acknowledging that it was not professional and not the way they were suppose to act. DONT GO THERE. They may not like you for no reason at all. Or I should say they may not like you if you are a minority.
Jack at the LIttleton store saved the day! I was riding Trestles bike park with my sons and we got a flat. Jack saw us from a distance and recognized our bikes from Bike Source so he headed our way to see if we needed help. He had the tube replaced within a few min. and we were back on the road! He totally interrupted his day to help us out! Thats extreme! Love Bike Source, Jack and the rest of gang in the shop. They are all super knowledgeable and committed to customer service. Go there, you wont be sorry.
Tanner is very helpful and we look forward to doing more business with this BikeSource location in the future. Drove down from Stapleton and it was worth it!
Love bike source! They are so friendly and knowledgeable! Great selection or road and mountain bikes as well as accessories. Just took my bike in this week fully prepared to purchase new brakes. The mechanic told me there was still life in my pads and adjusted the brake cables for free!
Good guys, feels more like your LBS (Local Bike Shop) than a corporate store. Fast service in the shop as well by guys that ride.
Terrible, condescending service. The older lady (dont know her name) was rude from the start of our conversation. Went to the back to check something and just pretended like I left and started helping others.Terrible service, well never see me again....
All the Bike Source guys are the best - from service to sales. Each time I go in Im treated great, and the Surly I bought there kept in top condition by the best mechanics in the business. Glad to have this as my LBS and will only shop there for all my bike needs. I highly recommend!
We flew into town and needed to rent bikes quick. They had a great variety of bikes for us to choose from. We had a blast and road our legs off. Clay was super helpful.
Primo bike shop. Brandon is really knowledgeable and very friendly. Mike seemingly knows everything there is shop related. They helped me with my road tubeless set up and were quick and efficient. Ill definitely be returning.
Went in the person up front didnt greet or anything then all employees were back in the service area. Husband had a question and the guy was less then helpful, will not spend my money there
Steve, Dan, and the rest of the shop there seriously make Colorado as enjoyable as it can be. They have great prices, and go the extra mile to make sure your taken care of. They had my bike done 3 days early for my un-expected ride with the family. Made my year! Thanks guys
This Bike Source store is awesome. I have ridden several styles of road bikes but finally stepped up to an S-Works with the hydraulic disc brakes and electric shift. This bike is so smooth and light that I get much greater performance with less energy. The hydraulic brakes do not fade or slip regardless of speed, heavy braking, or even when wet with water. The electric shifting is crisp, fast, and effortless. More importantly, the Store Manager, Chris Panella is very knowledgeable, patient, and insures a great customer service experience. There was no high pressure from anyone, the service people were exceptional, and bike fitter Mark set me up with a professional fitting. Thanks again to all the guys at Bike Source Southwest Littleton!
I had yearly sevice done on mtn bike, did a good job but it took 1 1/2 weeks to finish
Every experience Ive had at BikeSource has been awesome.1) I needed rim strips for my tubeless wheel, and they not only had 26 and 29, but two other brands and the service guy poked his head out and recommended his favorite.2) I was checking out a cross bike, and a guy came up just to talk cross because he loved it. He recommended some places to ride cross and wasnt the least bit disappointed that I wasnt there to buy a cross bike. Genuine cyclist.3) I loved their bike racks and wanted to put similar ones in my garage, and they were very helpful about providing their sources for these custom racks. Two of my three interactions were not to spend money at their store, but they treated me very well and now I wont hesitate to stop here first when I need something.
I bought a Specialized Camber from Mark at Bike Source Littleton last year. This weekend I had a small crash and tweeked my rear derailleur. I stopped in today, hoping to just be able to drop it off for repair over the next few days, worried Id need a new derailleur or worse. Instead, one of the mechanics (sorry no name) put my bike in the stand, re-trued the hanger, adjusted shifting, replaced rear brakes, gave it a look over and took it for a test ride. All while I watched and for an incredibly reasonable price. I could not be happier. Was able to ride today and it shifts like new. You can shop for the lowest price if you want or find something on the web (maybe), but this is why you buy a bike from Bike Source. This is called customer service. I hate missing my riding days so thank you!
Mike (mgr) went over husbands Bronson Santa Cruz on Tuesday this week - he took it in because we had a trip in two weeks and wanted to make sure everything was in order - since its new. Today - went to Keystone and the breaks need replaced. We called - they cant get it in until the 16th and have no way to do it sooner - even though he was already in. Mechanic was rude, offered no solution. Dont spend your $5K here - find a bike store that cares about it customers. Found another Santa Cruz dealer and they replaced the pads in under an hour - in Breck.
These guys are awesome. They know their bikes and service turns around things quickly. Appreciate the great service we get!
Terrible service. I bought s works ground control and purgatory tires. They went flat the next day and a few times later. They leaked through the side wall. It was pricey. the manager said that is what they do. Bought some of their clothes that failed they dont back up anything they sell. If you want good service that is not the place. 0 stars
Service department was super helpful
Walked in with a Cannondale and they told me to go somewhere else. Fine with me, Ill give someone else my money
Some of the guys are really helpful. Some not so much. Prices are fair.
Always enjoy going to BikeSource, have bought 4 new bikes here over the years, and always had a good experience with sales and service.
Cant say thanks enough for having that very small part for my brake and shifter marriage piece. You guys kick ass!!!
I took my bike into the shop for a routine tune-up. I got a new chain and seat put on the bike as well with excitement to ride today on the the 4th of July. When I called to check in on my bike, they couldnt even find it and told me they would call me back. After a couple hours of no response, I called them once again and they said they were just finishing up but asked if I wanted the new seat installed, it was on the work order to install the seat. I dont know if they were drunk or high (sounded like they could be either) but I was surprised they were able to find my bike when I showed up to get it ($285 later). Today, as soon as I start pedaling, the chain starts slipping. I couldnt even ride it (on any gear) and had to walk the bike home. I will be taking my bike back to show them and I expect a full refund because my bike isnt even able to be ridden more than 10 feet. I will not trust this shop with my business ever again.
They’re awesome.
Totally awesome staff, got me what I needed and fast. Also Military friendly.
I went to Bike Source on a Sunday hoping to get advice about bikes and possibly even purchase a bike that day. We looked at bikes for over a half hour and looked around for any staff to help us. We couldnt even get anyone to look at us. Perhaps the customer experience here is okay if you buy a bike accessory and dont need any help, but if you have questions, forget it. Apparently the staff are so poorly trained that four customers in their store on a Sunday afternoon overwhelms their ability to say, Ill be right with you. The take-a-number cattle call at the JoAnn Fabric cutting table is a more humanizing and pleasant shopping experience than stepping foot in a Bike Source. With so many other shops that sell bikes in very close proximity to this store, its foolish to have such poor customer service. Poorly done, Bike Source.
Would not recommend this company to anyone who needs bike service.
Great prompt service! Fixed my daughters bake in a jiffy after a little kite-bike incident
Very knowledgeable staff
