Ackerman & Sons fixed up a leather ottoman earlier this year and did a great job. Today, I brought an old green leather chair that would not recline properly. The some of their folks took a look and had it fixed in a few minutes. It turns out some of the springs had gotten loose with time and they just needed to tighten a bolt. Much to my surprise, they loaded the chair back in my car and didnt even charge me. What a wonderful holiday gift! Thank you!
Easy in easy out. Very helpful moving chairs in from my vehicle. 5 generations in business so they are doing it right.
These guys were absolutely amazing. A few antique pieces of my grandparents were broken while being transported to my apartment in Arvada all the way from Baltimore. Not only were Ackerman able to repair everything beautifully (see the picture - one chair was damaged and repaired, the other had made the trip undamaged, and I can hardly tell the difference) but they also helped me negotiate with the moving company in settling the claim and getting the movers to pay out properly. I cant recommend them enough.
I can’t say enough good things about this place. They fixed a table that was pretty precious to me. My husband and I also have pretty humbling professions so they were patient and kind with me wanting a payment plan. Couldn’t recommend enough, overall genuinely nice, hardworking, talented individuals.
Ackerman and Sons repaired my grandmothers rocking chair for me. They were helpful and hardworking they got the repair done quickly and were by far the most reasonably priced.
Top-drawer furniture refinishing and repair. One cannot do better. Expect very high prices and possibly a long wait (not always) but the time and knowledgeability of the staff and the quality of work make it all worth it.
Had an antique walnut granddaughter clock repaired that was heavily damaged from shipping cross-country. Ackerman & Sons did a terrific job in restoring this antique clock from a state I thought was irreparable, to a state that looks absolutely brand new. An incredible job, and courteous service, and I could not be any happier with the outcome. Would highly recommend.
The entire staff is so kind and caring. Their work is flawless I wouldnt go anywhere else for my needs they are worth every single cent and then some. Their prices are really reasonable..this is the greatest shop ever
Weve had a few pieces repaired and refinished here. Their prices arent cheap but they are fair and reasonable for what they do. This kind of craftsmanship, quality, and attention to detail is really hard to find anywhere. You wont be disappointed.
Ackerman & Sons used to be the best in the business. I have used them on three occasions and have been thrilled with the work they did. So when I needed furniture repair on two antique pieces I inherited from my recently deceased Mom I called them. One piece, a small antique secretary, was to have the left side and the left leg reglued and touched up.When delivered there was about an 1/8 gap between the leg and the front of the desk. It was not glued and it was not touched up and it still feels wobbly. The second piece, an old antique display cabinet, was to be rekeyed, some cracks filled, cleaned and polished.. Well, the cracks were filled. I dont know about the lock because it was delivered without the key. And as to cleaning? It has gummy residue on the glass front and on the wood in several places from what appears to be tape. When delivered there was actually a spider egg on the back side of the piece that I noticed when it was unloaded. I called to complain and they will send out a repairman next week. My question is, I sent it to them for repair, why was it delivered needing repair? I will not use this company again. Too bad, they used to be great.
They did a phenomenal job repairing my antiques! They were so thorough in the estimating process, setting expectations, etc. It turned out great! They take pride in their work - they treat each piece of furniture like a true piece of art! Thanks!
Run like an old fashioned business, honest and reliable. Ackermans refinished our family heirloom chair, and did an outstanding job. Timing and communication were not perfect, but overall a great result.
Amazing quality work, very responsive, on time, very happy with the quality.
Trust them with your fine furniture, quite expensive. Be prepared to wait for repairs.
They’ve held my chair hostage for more than three months after giving me an estimate of six to eight weeks and have not communicated with me at all unless I call. And when I do call, they’re often confused about who I am, then they say they’ll get back to me but never do. Not sure when or if I’ll ever see my chair again.
Worked here for 30 years. Fixing family heirlooms and antiques.
Friendly and do great work
