Dave is fantastic and this is the only place I will take my gm vehicles to for tuning. I brought my 14 silverado to then after a cam and head swap and it was running super rich from another custom tuner. They found the issue during a dyno session and tuned it on the spot even tho I wasnt scheduled for tuning. Truck drives way better and picked up power

I originally brought my car here after being referred by a friend to get a tune because I was having a lot of problems with my car. While on the dyno Dave saw that it was not making the amount of boost that it used to and Dave was able to assess what was wrong and show me the problem right away (Un-Keyed pulley spinning on the crank). He also was able to tell that something was not right with my clutch just from driving it into the shop (and when he pulled it apart he couldnt have been more correct- it looked horrible due to it not being shimmed correctly).During my time at the shop I got to meet all of the staff and really get to know them. They are very knowledgeable about everything on the LS/LT platforms (as well as MANY others) and a great group of guys to be around. I knew at that moment that this was the shop I was going to have work on my car.When asked how I would like to proceed they didnt try to push me to go a different route. They gave me a couple options and when I chose to keep my car with them they said they would send an invoice over the next morning. Instead of trying to sell me on the complete engine rebuild they sent me the invoice to get my car back in working order and said if I decided I wanted to do more to let them know.Since I knew I was going to end up building the engine eventually I figured I might as well get it done while they have to take the whole thing apart anyway. They were able to help set me up with an amazing short block setup for my car that would be able to handle all the power I want to eventually throw at it and then some. A month later I decided I wanted to add more boost to it since I was going to have the motor to handle it and they were able to get me set up with the YSI I wanted at a great price. They didnt try to add unnecessary stuff that I didnt need to the build either and they didnt try to jack up the prices on parts. This is a place that you can bring your car to and fully support your shop from parts to install to tuning.Now lets get to the meat and potatoes. The car put down great numbers with the current setup 844hp/744tq. The minute I got in the car and started driving I could tell that my clutch felt a million times better than before and exactly how a clutch of that caliber should feel. The driveability of the car is absolutely amazing and the car pulls like a bat out of hell. The belt drive for my YSI is laser straight (they noticed that the pulleys were slightly off and shimmed them accordingly) something a lot of shops would look over. They really make sure that every part of the car is perfect instead of just throwing it together, throwing it on the dyno and sending you on your way.There are probably a million things I have left out about my experience at this shop. The one thing I do know is I wrote such a long review because they deserve it. Dave, Jon, Butch and Mike are not only great at what they do but the hospitality that comes with the whole experience is second to none. I didnt just gain a new shop to get work done on my car- I gained new friends, new acquaintances, and a great team behind me for the 2020 season and beyond!I recommend this shop to anyone that is looking for a tune to get their vehicle to make some serious Jam- any type of build from Mild-Wild - or anyone just looking for a shop that cares for your car just like it was one of their own. In an area with a lot of half-*** shops and wannabe TOONERS EFx Tuning blows the competition out of the water from the minute you drop your car off to the minute you pick it up. If you live anywhere close to the NY tri-state area you are doing yourself a disservice if you do not take your car here. I knew my car wasnt running right and had to take it somewhere that could take me in ASAP before the season was over. Not only was Dave able to get me in that weekend, but was able to get me more power with less boost but more importantly he was able to find the source of my problem.He gave me all of my options and let me decide which route I wanted to choose. Since I spent a good 4 hours at that place (from doing the paperwork and finding the source of the problem, and then they courteously waited for me for my ride to come from 2 hours away on a Saturday) I got to learn a lot about the business practices and beliefs they instill at their shop. This is one stand up shop and I would recommend them to anybody. When I would inquire about more parts for my build, Dave would honestly tell me if it was completely unnecessary; this is not one of those shops that tries to up-sell you on a bunch of parts you dont need. I know they have a customer for life in me.From the minute I walked in they make you feel like family and like you have been going to their shop forever. Its a one stop shop: great performance work and an amazing tuner all in the same place. Thats why they are now doing my forged LS3 w/ Vortech YSI swap as well as tightening up some other loose ends that have been giving me problems all season. If you dont go and check out EFx you are only playing yourself.

A buddy of mine introduced me to Dave. I told him I’ve been have trouble with tuners and that I was on my 3rd one. I then asked Dave if he could look at my tune, he said sure and then informed me of his findings. Here recently I started to get my car tuned by EFX and they got it running better than it ever has. Awesome shop. I was having some drivability issues due to poor tuning from another shop(I wont mention their name but theyre a pretty big shop in Central Jersey). Wow, what a difference. Between the PCM tune and the TCM tune(something the other shop said wasnt needed) its a completely different car. The only thing other change was a set of cat deletes. I grained 25hp and over 40lbs of torque at the wheels from their tune and my cat deletes. Mind you the original tune and dyno numbers were in March and their work was done in August...so not only did I gain power in general it was a substantial gain from winter to summer. I was so frustrated with the car prior that I was legit about to sell it or trade it in thinking that this was how a modded 6thgen was going to behave. They seriously saved me from getting rid of my baby. Thanks again Butch & Dave!

Very much satisfied with my tune on my 5th Gen Camaro. Dave is a good dude who is very professional and knowledgeable. Would definitely take the trip back there if need be. Went in to tune my headers for my 6gen camaro and was more than happy with the results. Dave and the guys give great advice on what you should do to your car so that you can reach your goals and not spend money on parts that you don’t need. Best shop by far, make sure you stop by.

Do not bring your car to these guys unless its a honda or a chevy. Dave and Butch were kind people but they were defeated by a 1985 Toyota corolla. Notice how the good reviews are chevy owners. I offered them more money multiple times. The car sat there for 3 years. They made me take it back not running. I have no motivation to bs you. You have been warned. They earned this review. Sorry, I would have a beer with them, but I wont take another car to them.

EFX did an awesome job with my whipple 6gen Camaro. It was previously tuned by another shop and i was not completely happy with it. Spoke to Dave he recommend a few things, I brought it down to him and he jumped on it right away. called me each day to discuss what he found and what he did. I cannot be more pleased with my experience with EFX Tuning. Dave, John, Mike are all awesome people to deal with. I brought my 99 vette in for a tune since I had a supercharger added. We found an issue with my exhaust and these guys pulled out my whole exhaust even though they were swamped with work to begin with. They did an awesome job and made me feel extremely welcome in their shop. If I lived closer they would get sick of me stopping by for visits. I had a great day overall and Dave tuned my car to perfection.......Very satisfied......

I brought my car in because after being tuned over and over by another shop (who shall remain nameless) it just wasnt running right, I felt it was still very restricted. I brought my car here after previously getting tuned by another shop. I singled out every mechanical issue I could think of before deciding it had to be the tune. I called Dave and he cleared an entire day to work and tune on my car the next week. I came down and he put the car on the dyno and realized my previous tune was terribly done. He spent the next 3-4 hours starting from scratch and redoing everything. My car runs better than it ever has. He showed me what he was doing along the way teaching me what was wrong and right. I would 10/10 recommend EFX and Dave to anyone in the car world I’ve never felt so welcome and important as a customer in a shop. Thank you EFX & Dave.

Im writing this review only because i wish somebody else would have come forward and exposed EFX before i took my car there.These reviews on google are not legit.Its what fooled me in to going there.Dave does not care about clients. He is disrespectful, rude and careless.I wont go in to detail about all the time and money i lost along with the damage my car took by being there weeks on end.I would be writing for 10 minutes if i did give all the details.This place is more of a hang out then a business.Dave, Butch, Sean, .... Yea take my advise and do not let them touch your car.I will leave it at that.Hope this helps the muscle car community.

Great shop, great people. Currently bring my car there for anything as little as a boost leak, to a full build. Dave and his men know how to work on anything. But if you have a V8, do yourself a favor and bring it to EFX Tuning.

Had an appointment for a Friday morning, but when I showed up (had driven 20 miles with another person to get home), no one was there. No call, but a note left on door that says leave keys in truck.I dont think so. I had a restored classic car with 20 years of work into it, wasnt about to leave it in some parking lot in Toms River.Never received a call back, an apology or a reschedule. Looks like a 1 man operation with 1 small bay to work on cars. I wouldnt trust a mechanic like this, just my opinion.
