My family has had the absolute worst experience with this company. They put our awning in over a year ago, and it has never been even close to right. Weve had them back out numerous times, but never fixed and repeatedly misdiagnosed. Theyre initial sales meeting is great, but once you pay for it is miserable to get a call back or any meaningful responses. Now, after all this time, we were told wed have to pay over $800 for them to have new parts sent. We are absolutely disgusted and strongly advise saving your money and hassle by never hiring this company. One star is far too generous.

Going on month three of no installation. I have been lied to, given the run around and quite honestly, I have never had such a poor experience with a lack of caring with a supposed professional company. I have been told numerous different stories, but the worst part about it all is they really do not seem to care. Be careful!!!!!!!!! If they showed JUST A TAD BIT OF CARING I would never of posted this, my first negative post in my life, that should say it all.

They made (10) new cushions for our boat and 4 of them do not fit. The refused to correct it saying it was our fault. The owner will not return your call until i called over 10 times. Then told me it was our fault and he refused to correct it and to sue him.

My sister can’t get them to fix the awning properly. Sun setter says the authorized dealer has to handle. They finally come and don’t have all the parts. The sensitivity was too sensitive and then it didn’t roll up in high winds and the arms bent. We regret this purchase.

The crew did an amazing job. I had two electrified awnings installed in my pool area. The installers were very knowledgeable so the installations went very smoothly with no issues. Installers were very respectful and answered any questions that I had regarding the mechanisms. I subsequently ask them to return to make some adjustments on two occasions which they did graciously. I would absolutely recommend this company.

We have used ShipShape Marine Canvas for the past seven years to repair and replace the boat canvas on 3 different vessels of ours. Their workmanship was excellent with timely service. We also used Ship Shape to make and install our porch awnings (for shade) at our home. The prices are fair and reasonable and the service was always excellent. We will continue to use Ship Shape Marine Canvas in the future and would recommend them to anyone.

Ship Shape Marine Canvas is now the only place I will have my boat cushions and canvas replaced with. I was unable to be there for the replacement of my cushions. Also I designed a seating bench at the stern of my boat. I designed it over the phone with one of their technicians. I described in detail what I wanted. When I came back from an out of town job, and saw the finished product for myself first hand, I was amazed. They designed it better than I could have imagined. I’ve been to many companies to replace my cushions and canvas. I kept switching companies because I was never extremely satisfied. When I saw the job Ship Shape had performed for me, I was ecstatic!! It was better than perfect. They did things I didn’t even think of. I tell everyone that sees my boat where I had it done and they all ask for their phone number and info.Thank you Ship Shape for doing what know one else could do. Create Perfection!!!Unfortunately I might not see you for a while because your product that you use and the quality of work is so good, your job will last much longer than all the other companies I had tried before.Thank you again and I would tell anyone reading this to stop searching for a company to redo their boat. YOU FOUND IT!!!!I look forward to using you again. All my best to you and your team,Anthony Zibelli.

A great experience! Rich, the owner, was very accommodating. Both the price was competitive and the installation process was swift, smooth and problem free. We are very happy with our awning and this vendor. In fact, we recommended Rich, the owner of Ship Shape, to our neighbors Tony and Patti.

BEWARE!!! PLEASE READ!!!I met Rich at the Pompano Boaters Flea Market and liked his presentation. He came to my house on March 3rd, 2015 to look at my boat and I picked out a color for the boat cover I was looking to have done. He told me it would be 4-6 weeks for completion and that hed have some of his guys out within two weeks to take more measurements. He asked for 50% down payment which I paid by credit card $1100.00. No one ever came and I called Rich and left a message on 4/6, 4/14, and 4/16. At this point my cover should have been completed. No returned calls. I had my roommate call from his phone on 4/15 and Rich returned his phone call looking for new business the next day 4/16. Fortunately my credit card company reversed the charges and I still havent heard from Ship Shape Marine. If I hadnt paid by credit card I would have paid $1100.00 for nothing. I would not recommend dealing with Ship Shape Canvas. Rich even lives in my neighborhood and had no problem treating a customer/neighbor this way. I have not seen or heard from Rich or anyone else from Ship Shape Canvas since he came to my house to look at my boat on March 3rd, 2015.

I have had issues since day one, Quick to take you $$$. Richard is just a nasty man, I have both retractable and a awning fabric over my carport, The retractable has pulled out of face boards twice already, (Brand-new home which my contractor told Richard it needed to be reinforced due to weight of awning.) Now its sagging, I call to deal with this issue set a video and pics again,, Richard tells me I should have pulled it in when its raining? REALLY?? Isnt that why it has a retractable motor deal with wind and rain? I say to him, Am I suppose to wake up in the night and pull awning in? Isnt t it there to protect my patio?? Awning fabric over carport was taken down before hurricane, they put back up, Is now rotting and has holes in it. Richard has yelled at me from the moment he answers the phone & tells me ever excuse there is. I wait weeks due to I live in Dade county for repairs which only make issues worse, I honestly am sick over this. Ready to call TV station because he does not treat up with any customer service all he does is yell, His workers are great, I will admit that, BEWARE is all I am saying, and YES I stand behind this statement, willing to post video If I knew how.

I hired Ship Shape Marine Canvas to put a new canvas on the top of my boat. It was always loose and sagging from day 1 after install. I mentioned this to the installer just after he finished and was informed that the sun would tighten it right up. I took his word for it and gave it some time. It has progressively gotten worse and now water just puddles up in the middle of it. I have called 5 times now over the past couple months and always get told the exact same thing I will make a service appointment for you and someone will call you to schedule. This has been the biggest joke as nobody ever calls! They were very quick to come out and take the money and install it but it was done incorrectly and their customer service is absolutely pathetic. 2 stars for the quick install but I could have went to the swap shop and gotten a better product. Shame on you Ship Shape.

Awesome product, and awesome company. I purchased my SunSetter awning in July, 2012, and it is one of the best purchases I have ever made. High quality product, and the best customer service from Ship Shape Marine Canvas. I had an issue involving the fabric rolling over one of the brackets, causing the material to shred. Thank goodness for the great warranty. Richard Daino from Ship Shape Marine Canvas resolved the problem immediately by adjusting the brackets and replaced the damaged awning,, no questions asked. I highly recommend this product and this company!

Ship Shape installed our Sunsetter Awning about 3 years ago. The installation process was seamless and done on time. We have had to call upon them just once for an adjustment to the awning. Twice we have had some stitching come loose on the valance. Neither time did this surprise us as it was after hurricane season and it is South Florida. In all three cases our issues were handled extremely quickly and efficiently. We can not say enough good things about the people and Ship Shape.

They came out and measured for the unit and took notes. They then ordered the unit with the motor on the opposite side as the outlet. In doing so the electrical cord wasnt long enough. So they decided to cut it twice and splice in a extra length. In doing so they didnt use heat shrink, connectors, dielectric wirenuts, nothing. They just used electrical tape and twisted the wires together. This caused a short because the ground and load were intermittently making contact. When I approached them with the problem I was met with extreme backlash, and unprofessionalism! I WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING! I CANT IMAGINE THE OTHER SHORT CUTS HE TAKES IN BUSINESS!!! IF YOU HAVE A MOTOR AWANING INSTALLED BY SHIP SHAPE I WOULD CHECK THE POWER CORD FOR ELECTRICAL TAPE! BECAREFUL AND UNPLUG IT FIRST SO YOU DONT GET SHOCKED!!!! THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD!

Ship Shape and Richard Daino were contracted to re-glass on my 28 foot center console. Overall the result was good though that may be a bit generous as some of the glass was installed with scuff marks on the clear material...I didnt complain about it because I was willing to accept that level of workmanship and a rework would add additional wear to the existing frame. Some of the snaps are very difficult to snap and stay snapped in part due to slight under sizing of the glass in the original canvas frame...Im hoping it will stretch back with time.My greatest dissatisfaction comes from the whole boat custom cover I was offered and Dainos failure to follow through with his promise. Mr Daino claimed the cover was made for an identical boat but in the wrong color so it was well discounted; he just wanted to get his labor costs out of the project. He guaranteed the fit and we agreed that in addition to the sandbag weighting system around the perimeter there must be a means to lock it to the boat so that a typical thunderstorm would not blow it off. We agree that a few snaps and straps would be used and the primary security system would be bra like pockets at he bow and at each side of the stern. The bow pocket works fine but within a week the first gusty thunder storm that came up dislodged one of the stern pockets so the cover turned into a giant swimming pool liner in the boats cockpit. Had it continued to rain or if I had not been home to intervene, enough water could have been trapped in the cockpit to jeopardize the boat lift cables; water is heavy. I contacted My Daino at least four times over the next several weeks and we agreed a simple strap installation (like others already in use) could be installed to lock the stern corners in place. He continued to say that he would fix the problem but after so many calls over a period of weeks it became evident he has no intention of making good on his promise. After all he was already paid in full. As I final note I am thankful that his employees arent getting on my boat with their dirty street shoes and stomping my fuel and steering lines.

I met with Richard Dano, owner of Ship Shape Canvas, on January 4, 2011 to replace a Bimini and Enclosure on my Sea Ray 36 Sundancer. We agreed to $300 for the canvas and $1,500 for the enclosure for a total of $1,800. He said he could start in 3 weeks and I gave him a $500 deposit. We discussed patterning the replacements instead of using the old pieces as templates as they were very tattered and likely would yield the wrong fit. We also agreed that the Bimini would be done first and then the enclosure would be fitted and done. After four weeks and some insistence on my part, one of their guys showed up but told me that he could not use the old canvas as a pattern as it was worn out. When I told him that we already knew and agreed that it was unusable, he told me that was not what he was told and that he did not have the material to do a pattern. He left without doing anything and mysteriously quit the following week. The following week Mr. Daino showed up and took the old canvas. He now said that they COULD do it based on the old canvas and it would be fine. It was not. After 5 and a half weeks, the canvas was installed on February 12 and the canvas fit horribly, used the wrong color thread and had crooked stitching throughout. He had also brought along the front three panels of the enclosure which he also patterned from the old pieces. They also fit horribly, had the wrong color thread, crooked stitching and silver buttons even though the rest of the boat had black buttons. Instead of recognizing the shortcomings, Mr. Daino defended the work right down to the thread color. It took two weeks for him to admit that the work was sub-par and another four weeks for him to get someone out there. Nonetheless, he did send out his guy from the Lighthouse Point store to look at it and the guy said he would do what he can to fix it but was instructed by Mr. Daino to adjust the canvas and not start over.Again weeks later, the LP guy shows up with the adjusted canvas and the fit was better but it was at least 6 inches too short on either side. It did not come even CLOSE to reaching the snaps on either side of the boat and the sides in front popped up when you ran the boat because they were so far up the pole, wind would get under them. The LP guy even admitted that the fit was way wrong. Mr. Daino, however, once again defended the work saying I was being difficult. I begged him to talk to his own guy and, once he did, he did agree to pattern out a new Bimini and happily, this one came out better. It only took three months to do PART of a 3 week job but at least we are making progress.Given the circumstances, I decided to not continue with the enclosures until I had a chance to settle in with the Bimini. Since I did not commit to the enclosure, Mr. Daino instructed his guy to NOT come back and finish the job and just move on. I asked Mr. Daino for a refund of $200 (as the Bimini was only $300 and not the $500 I gave him) and the return of my enclosures. He stole my money, stole my panels and is the definition of bad faith.
