Despite the name, this is not a surplus store, it has been mainly carhartt and work attire for MANY years. If you choose to shop here do not be swayed by the owner’s behavior, he has different ideas of how a business should be run. Don’t worry he doesn’t think you’re stealing, he’s just just trying to be helpful in a not so helpful way. If you need help, try to find one of the other two and you’ll be good. Overall, they have a good selection of items for everyone and realistically the prices are cheap for what you’re getting.

I bought two pairs of carlhartt cargo pants they are great quality great variety and the price is so awesome I just love shopping at this location. A hidden jewel of a place to but casual clothes. The customer service is very nice and kind.

I am completely outraged by the way my family was treated. I asked for help and received a very rude response, that was completely unnecessary. Along with other shoppers in the store the personnel continued to follow us around. This will be my last time we ever shop at this store.

This business needs to change their name. They are not an Army Navy store. All they sell is Carhartt brand clothing and shoes. They dont sell a single piece of military ware.

Bought a pair of pants and several days later decided to return them. They asked why and I said that I found a pair I liked better elsewhere. I was then told that they only give store credit not refunds. Had that been explained in the beginning I wouldnt have made a purchase and saved myself a 19 mile drive from Winston Salem. The store is very cluttered and difficult to find anything. I wear a 32x34 pant and there wasnt much of a selection in that size. Cant recommend this business but would advise anyone looking for Carharrt items to check out The Mast General Store on Trade in Winston.

Had Carhardt brand here. Was glad that they had my friends size for jeans. He is really tall and we now have a place to get his jeans. Thank you!!

My husband shops here often. If they dont have your size and they are able to get it they will take your number and give you a call when it comes in.

Ive been in this store many times, even sending family there to find special items. Your selection is good, but your customer service sucks. Standing in your store the day after Christmas, your phone rings and clearly someone was asking if your store was open. To hear the conversation between owner and employee after the phone conversation ended was shocking. The owner clearly making fun of the customer who called for asking such a dumb question. And that was the nicest comment the owner made. Newsflash owner/jerk, your Google listing says Boxing Day may affect your hours. Its owners like you who make people not want to support small, local businesses. Maybe word will get around about how rude you are. I can order the same items online and not listen to your rude comments about others. You must be a miserable person.

It was kinda High Pressure there I understand your in the business to make money but if someone is tells you they are just looking around theres no need to Hound them or ask them if they are still ok every 2 minutes. If a person is in your establishment they know why they are there just let them look around they may just spend more money if they really get to look instead of just getting something so the pressure will stop !!!

Great place to shop at bit everytime I buy boots I end up settling for something Im not really wanting while having to defend my choice to the staff. I particularly dont care to have to pick through 3 or 4 different boots while getting lectured over it. 3 times is enough.

My husband needed new steel tip boots for work so off we went to the Army Navy Store. First time I saw their sign I thought it was a surplus store for Army and Navy supplies but its not. They have clothes for men, women and children. Work pants, shirts, and shoes for men. A small selection of items for children and a separate room of items for women. I found three wonderfully warm long sleeved shirts and blouses for Fall/Winter and a Christmas gift for my husband. They have a nice selection for women. So next time you see their sign go inside and check them out. You might be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

I thought maybe I was the only one that had a bad experience with the older rude dude but reading the other reviews I see its the way he deals with everybody. I dont understand it. I went in with my wife and daughter to look around the whole place but right when I entered with them he asked me what I was looking for. I told him underwear so he took to the mens underwear showing me regular underwear I could buy in Walmart but to keep from being embarrassed I bought them, asked for a receipt - not to be able to return them or anything but I just keep records of everything. He just gave me a blank receipt with nothing but the amount. No big deal on that its just the way I felt like I was being pushed out of the store making me feel like I wasnt wanted in there. I dont know if hes the owner or not but you just cant keep a business if you do customers that way. Ive been in business 40 years and never treat customers like that. The only people I see like that are people that used to do something else with their life where they could get away with treating people that way. In the free enterprise world you have to be nice to your customers to get them to open their wallets and freely give you money for your stuff. I heard the younger guy on the way out and he seemed to be really nice. Other than the rudeness I didnt see any surplus Army or Navy stuff at all but didnt really get a chance to look much. My advice is just to buy elsewhere.

Note: I have not made a purchase here. When I do Ill try to use cash and see if I get a receipt.Very friendly staff, clean store, well stocked and durable clothing. Its on the lower end of the price range and you can find some good deals in the clearance room

They call it an army navy store, but sell absolutely nothing you would find in such a store. The store itself is so packed you cant move, let alone see what they have. But worst, these folks have an Attitude. They are snooty and rude, and roll their eyes if you ask a question, as though you are wasting their time and consuming their resources by breathing in the same room with them. Ill pass. All their inventory is available in friendlier stores.

This was my first time visiting this store. They did not have the traditional army Navy type merchandise.however they did seem to have any and every Carhartt product you could ever want. Great selection of boots as well.

I dont usually leave reviews but the fact that this place can be called an Army Navy store is ridiculous. And when I asked an employee about it they were quite rude. If you dont want to be questioned about it then change the name.

The Army Navy Store, well first of all, is not an amry surplus store which is kind of misleading. They have a lot of clothes but some are very old and outdated. If your someone trying to save money, this might not be a store for you, the prices are kind of high, but its always good to support your local shop and stores.

Clothes selection was fine. This may sound d weird but I thought it smelled funny and I needed to go to the restroom and it was nasty. I mean dried poop down the commode. I probably wont go back

Well, based on a google description, we drove from out of town and to Lexington, excited to shop outdoor gear at an army surplus. When we arrived, we found that it is not, in fact an army navy surplus but, simply a clothing store. We were surprised as we were looking specifically for outdoor stuff but, were open to still possibly checking the place out. That was until we spoke with an older gentleman worker whom informed us that it had been a clothing store only for the past 40 years and that, despite what google listed for the business, We were apparently dumb for believing everything on google. 👍 Giving the review for others who may need the info, we will obviously never go back but, hey! If you only need clothes and condescending conversation, it is your place to go.

Misleading name. No military surplus merchandise at all. Trendy outdoor and denim clothing store. Older grey headed man extremely rude to customers for following Google description of business. Drove 1 hr for absolutely innaccurate selection of merchandise. Completely bad business!

Not only does the owner lie, he has terrible attitude!!! I went into the store on 12/6/2017, for the very first time. I purchased a pair of 11.5 Sperrys. He was very helpful until I paid for them. I asked him, if these dont fit or not the ones my husband wants, can I get REFUND? He said yes! Guess what, Im here at 2:44 pm on 127/2017, and was wanting a refund! To NO surprise, Im told that they dont do refunds!!! To top it off, the owner didnt give me a receipt yesterday! I did a split payment, $70.00 on my debit card and $26.25 in cash! He gave me a receipt for the $70.00 debit, but not on the cash transaction. I went all the way home and realized that he didnt give me a cash receipt. Came back up town to get my cash receipt, and he had a terrible attitude about giving me a receipt!!! I believe in supporting local business, but NEVER EVER will it be with this establishment!

Best prices and largest selection of Levis, Wrangler, and Carhartt jeans anywhere. The store is a bit old but you dont have to pay for the location and Atmosphere of the big retailers in the price of the jeans. They have other stuff as well but I have been buying my jeans here for 30 years. Dont know what would happen if they were to go away.

There was nothing Army or Navy about this store. It looked more like a Carhart outlet. Their selection was good, but not what I was looking for...DISAPPOINTED

The prices are a bit high for a retail store. Which is fine I mean you pay for quality. HOWEVER. The owners can be very rude!Im never going back there because of how I heard them talking about costomers that were in there at the same time as me. And how they took one look at me and followed me around and assumed I couldnt afford anything. Even went as far to suggest another store and acted surprised when i bought something. Doesnt sound that bad saying it but believe me the stuck up attitude they gave was unbelievable.

THREE THINGS THAT BUG ME1) The name could be something more original since theyve got nothing even remotely related to any Army or any Navy.2) ALWAYS in an extreme shortage of meduim sizes of clothing sizes. Almost as though whoever orders things neglects to order things smaller than large.3) Clothing is massively unorganized. Ive gone in multiple times to find a product I know they carry but leave 15 minutes later because Im tired or rummaging through the intermixed sizes.That being said:Do yu remember that clothing youd used to buy for $40 and not have to replace it within a year ? Yeah, thats the stuff sold here and I LOVE it. No more jeans with only 5 belt loops, and no more holes after a few months. They have the good 7 belt loop jeans and all the clothes Ive bought thus far are double stitched where it should be, and their coats are absolutely phenomenal too.

North Carolinas return policy is 3 days by the law,and they refused in a very nasty way to return my money $157 dollar when i bought carhartt coveralls from them the day before and decided to return, who ever is that running the store is a very rude man. The typical mr know it all.

It was expensive,they didnt have what we were looking for and werent helpful. Ill not stop there again. It was basically a waste of time.
