Absolutely the best. Thank goodness we found BC! Warren repaired our two vintage1965 Rittenhouse intercom units quickly and successfully. They were real challenges. Most pleasant to deal with. Can recommend BC completely and with confidence. Would give 10 stars if possible. Thank you Warren! Diane in Princeton
Could not be more pleased with the Head Unit install completed on my Maserati GranTurismo. The install also included a touchscreen Climate Control Unit which presented its own set of unique challenges as well as front and rear cameras.Warren and Kevin delivered a first rate install despite having to return a faulty climate unit which had to be replaced by the manufacturer. They kept me informed throughout the install and kept my car inside while waiting for the replacement climate unit. They completed my install on time and within budget despite the unforeseen issues that arise with every install.I Highly recommend them as their level of know-how, professionalism and customer service far exceeded the level offered by the other installers I contacted. They stand by their work and I feel confident they will be there should I need them in the future. If your serious about a quality install, go to BC Electronics.
Great service and owner very knowledgable. I have taken many pieces of my cherished stereo system to him (speakers, cd players, receivers, etc...) and was never disappointed on those he able to get back to 100% working order. Even had a car remote installed in my wifes car. Well worth the trip from NJ!!!
BC Electronics did a fantastic job fixing my turntable! Great service with a friendly, knowledgable and caring staff.
Nobody, I mean nobody had the JL audio subs I needed, I walk into BC electronics I was welcomed and he had the JL W3s I needed. He my go to. In the future
Perfection to detail. My 40 yr old cassette deck sounds like brand new after a little TLC from BC Electronics. If you want your electronics fixed correctly the first time, this is the only place to go.
The install tech, ha, did not ground my cd/stereo, it should have been done myself...Booooo!!!
DANGER! (Do not go here - You put your self at risk if you are taking this shops advice) Was told by owner that a 20 CB Base Station antenna does not need grounding from lightning if large trees are around. Additionally, I was told Base-Antennas do not need to be Tuned/SWR meter not needed and Base-Antennas cant be tuned.FYI - Lightning protection is REQUIRED for tall antennas and numerous other question were FLAT-OUT incorrect and simply DANGEROUS!
Brought in a Tascam 688 and they replaced a belt (costs about 10 bucks on ebay) and cleaned up the transport (which I couldve done myself?) and charged me 220$. On top of this, the problems I had with the tape deck were not fixed.
I took my Tascam 38 Reel to Reel to BC Electronics to get looked at with the hopes of repair. On their website, it specifically states that there is a minimum labor fee of $63.50 for 8 track Tascam units. However, I was told that I had to pay a $120, which is nearly double the price they claim. He explained “this one is different than other reel to reels”... immediately things seemed fishy, but I paid the $120 because I’m all for supporting local businesses and I wanted it looked at thoroughly, not skimmed over and put on the back burner. I was told 4-6 weeks, to which I received a call 5 weeks later explaining that “there is A LOT wrong with it”, to further elaborate and say that it will cost upwards of $1,000. Yeah, no... so, I picked it up two days later. I asked for a written receipt of everything wrong with it and he was oddly apprehensive, saying “I already explained everything on the phone”. I did end up receiving a written receipt of the things wrong with it, which was four things, not “A LOT” as he had previously stated. I ended up looking up the parts for those four issues to find that the highest price point for the parts was $25-30. They completely tried to rip me off... $1,000+ to solder a few wires that a novice could. I would absolutely not recommended BC Electronics in regards to vintage equipment.
Old school electronics repair. hard to find
Well, I must say that this shop is awesome. I had a CB radio installed in my Dodge Ram 1500 4WD truck today 23-Sep-19 and man what an awesome job. Great friendly as heck service, and install was FANTASTIC. I am very very well pleased. I was very excited to drive up the truck and see the great workmanship done on my truck. Thank you BC Electronis.
Needed a radio installed for my wifes birthday. Another shop dropped the ball so I called BC Electronics. The woman who answered the phone was super nice and said they could see me that day. I took the car in and they installed everything no problem. Drove out with new radio looking/sounding great.Exceptional customer service and very reliable. Will return to this shop in the future.
Staff was very helpful and very nice. I called randomly and asked if I could get in today for an install and they were able to take me immediately. I’m out rolling around with my new system hooked up professionally and comfortably. All together amazing place and amazing knowledgeable people. 👍🏻
I went there this morning to have my van equipped with remote start and a new car stereo I must say these guys did a fantastic job. The job was done very neat very clean highly recommend this company for any car stereo or remote starts needed in your vehicles. True professionals from the moment I walked into the showroom to the time my vehicle was completed later in the afternoon I couldnt have had a better experience. He hires very good installers the job is done correctly very neat very clean you can just tell hes hiring great people to install. Remember the install is always the most important thing if thats not done right nothing is right when it comes to car stereos and remote starts. I feel as though I paid a very good price very competitive he was definitely competitive with Best Buy and with a company like Best Buy your really taking your chances because their installs are very poor and their customer service is terrible. Had a great experience today with B C Electronics.
Just had alarm and remote start installed in my Ford truck.Works perfectly, was done on time and very nice installation.Helpful and knowledgeable people.Very pleased with experience.
Over priced and service sucks
If I could leave zero stars I certainly would - as I sense I was completely lied to about my unit and its repair...I dropped off my unit to be repaired at BC Electronics. I was told 6-12 weeks for the CD portion of my turntable to be repaired. I paid the $63.50 minimal charge and left 2 additional drive belts which I had previously purchased just in case they were needed. I watched the gentleman at the counter tape the bag of belts onto the CD arm, which I thought was strange as I knew the CD portion of the turntable would need to be examined.Approximately 2 weeks later, I received a call from the same gentleman at BC Electronics stating specifically the sled motor was damaged and no longer available. I asked if there was a model number, description, picture, manual, diagram, etc. so I could research it as I was told all his resources were exhausted and I probably would not be able to find it. I researched eBay and sure enough found the sled motor, paid for it and had it shipped to me.I revisited the store a day or two later with the sled motor and was surprised when the same gentleman stated - I told you it was the attached plastic gear on the sled motor which was cracked, and the unit came as one piece with the sled motor. I told him this is not what he had stated to me on the phone, because I specifically wrote everything down to which he replied This is why I do not have customers research parts, but because you wanted to look for it I let you do it....I asked if it could be 3D printed to which he replied he did not know...as it was a very intricate, complicated and complex gear part with angles and was the reason why these units had been discontinued.Luckily, I had the number to the out of state vendor who sold me the sled motor, I asked the BC Electronics gentleman if he would talk to the vendor directly, so this type of mix up would not occur again. He refused, stating he had other things to do. I called the sled motor vendor and was told they would look for the part, but the gear piece was a separate piece and may be a part of old stock and they would see if they had another one.I asked the BC Electronics gentleman to take a picture, to which he said it would take a few days, so I left him my email and departed. On my drive home, I felt it would be best to turn around and go retrieve my unit. I was greeted again by name and I informed the BC Electronics gentleman I wanted to pick up my unit. He said the unit was on the workbench in several pieces and his computers were down, so he couldnt complete the paperwork or put my unit back together and to come back in a few days. I resisted and asked how many pieces and since I had already paid the deposit.... what paperwork would need to be completed - other than a signature stating I picked up the unit? He said he would drop what he was doing and get the paperwork done.ALL OF A SUDDEN, the computers worked so he could print a final invoice. When he went back to retrieve my unit, he came back right away carrying my unit and stated, “OH YEAH your unit WAS put back together and you also had a bag of belts drives as well”.And .... NOT TO MY SURPRISE....The bag of previously purchased belt drives were taped in the EXACT spot where they had been taped on the CD arm when I dropped it off - almost a month earlier.Needless to say – I feel deceived and lied to and I would not recommend BC Electronics to anyone.Update: I took my FISHER DAC 145 Unit to a repair shop in Michigan. They fixed it in a day (not 6-12 weeks). They replaced the two belts I provided and the gear, which I was told by BC Electronics was permanently attached to the sled motor and a very complex angled gear part was a separate inexpensive nylon gear which was placed on the end of the sled motor - Which I had purchased for BC Electronics separately. The unit works perfectly!! They even commented the unit didnt even look as though it had been opened - as it was still dusty and a drive belt was broken
Researched places. 75 mile drive but worth it. Excellent service, got 400 and 300 cd players back within 5 days Nice considered people we met. I recommend!
Excellent job be back soon. No waiting very pleased .. they even loved pearl my bird ...
Its a store that has been around for as long as I can remember. I used to buy my beepers there that should give you a rough idea and theres a reason theyve been there that long theyre very good at what they do.
I had a double DIN radio installed in my 2005 Nissan Armada by BC Electronics. The service was immediate, and great. Within 3hrs from initial call, I was on the street with my new radio install. After playing with it, I thought there were 3 problems with the install. Took it back the next morning. The folks from BC Electronics patiently explained to me, why those were not problems and actually I had some learning to do about how my car works. So great service all around. However, they are pricy!
Great customer service, more expensive than most. Ended up not having my radio repaired here so I cant comment on that, but my overall experience was good.
Pros: friendly staff, they do good work, local. Cons: expensive, overpriced products.Charged me almost $300 to have one 12 inch sub installed, which was an all in one package that came with an amp already inside of the sub box. Best buy only charges about $120 or so but I came to bc electronics because I didnt feel like waiting a month to have my sub installed. Then I decided to upgrade and get a better sub and came back to bc electronics to get the proper wiring I needed for the amp and the speaker. Unfortunately I got the power wire before my amp came in the mail. I got 2 gauge wire only to find out that my amp takes 4 gauge max. When I went to swap the 2 gauge for 4 gauge wire the owner told me it was ok to use the 2 gauge and I would just have to cut the wire down a bit. Then he sold me 10 gauge speaker wire to hook the amp up to the sub which was also too big and had to be cut down. So all in all the guy sold me more expensive wiring even though it wasnt the right size just so he could make more money off me. Not only that but he said a 2 gauge wiring kit costs almost $300 compared to the $170 he sold to me. Amazon has one for like $60 or less 😑, but again, I didnt feel like waiting so i reluctantly paid more for the convenience of getting it done asap. Bottom line: dont come here if you dont like being ripped off. I recommend shopping around first and trying to find a place that isnt so expensive.
Brought in several Fisher Tube Stereo,Fisher 500C,Fisher X-202-B, Fisher FM-200-B,Fisher X-1000,Fisher FM-1000,Fisher X-101-C.Warren got them all tuned upplaying like new.Warren is the last of tube electronicsspecialist experts left in America. His prices are great andhe was very honest
Extremely high pricing on old equipment. I get the store has to make a profit, but most items are priced 3-5 times higher than what they would be online. I was also rushed the whole time to the point that the owner suggested I come back later when I knew what I wanted. Keep in mind that I was at the store for maybe 10 minutes and half that time was them finishing with another customer, going to the bathroom, then the debate on which one of them was going on their lunch break first. So she went on her break then the guy suggests I come back later because he has to do something else and cant wait. Sorry that I was such an inconvenience... Forgive me for wanting to spend money in your store.
Would not recommend for subwoofers...
Quality work from pros.
I GO to for all my radio items
