Love this place for my kids clothes, super good deals and super nice staff! Been coming for years never disappointed!

Store is bigger than most is the only plus size. Manager is very rude. Also might want to check tags before placing your own on them. Item priced at $6.50 was actually purchased at a department store for $5.99 When I brought to managers attention she snatched the tag off and walked away.

Very well organized. Their resale system is intense meaning they have a lot of rules. Photo of Buy Counter rules as of 9.1.21. Four stars because I was surprised at how expensive some items were for being resale.

The place was immaculately kept.The gentleman was nice but the one white woman seemed annoyed that I brought toys that were given to me and I was bringing them without knowing what the rules were. When allowances were made for another lady dropping off the first time. I had my granddaughter 1 yrs in tow and was forced to stay while they inspected the play centers when they could have easily said if they are not clean, or if parts are missing then we are not able to take them then I could have saved us all sometime and trouble knowing the toys were not clean and were not in great shape and left. They made me feel uncomfortable for even being there.The white man was nice and assisted me on going out and the Mexican young lady was helpful when she saw how the white lady treated me. Dont have a system and then changed the rules telling me I can come back but treat me like I wasnt coming back. I missed lunch with my son which was on a tight scheduled 😕MRS. GRIFFIN

They make a great offer on clothes you sell. Very reasonably priced and always has a great selection to buy from.

Website doesn’t not include that you need to make a appt to do a simple drop off … walked in didn’t even get greeted… two women were just standing and talking. If you’re going to enforce something make sure you do it where people can see it instead of driving all the way out here..!!!

With four kids and a budget this place is my first stop anytime the kiddos need clothes. Great prices and great staff. Racks are nicely organized and easy to browse.

Great visit! Got lots of clothes for the summer for my 3yo and 5yo for an amazing price.

Ive been coming here for years, to resell and purchase and have always found this to be a great establishment. That last few times Ive noticed the service declining. However that hasnt stopped me from coming. Emily today was by far the most rude person Ive encountered here. Because of her I will never be returning. I dont know what makes people get customer service jobs if they have no customer service skills. No smiling. No kindness. Dont speak to people nicely. Unkind. Its not even the fact that the decline to purchase anything. It was literally she took the stuff out of the container. I had time to answer a text message and I already was called to say my bin was complete. 124 items, complete in less than 3-4 minutes ?! Halloween costumes, brand new shirts with tags, brand new Jessica Simpson leather jacket, and many other good condition clothing . I get that not all items will be taken, thats never been an issue. But she had a personal issue with me from the moment I walked in and took it out on me by declining any purchase. I see the reviews that people are unhappy with the service theyre receiving these days. May want to teach you employees happy faces, kind spirits and customer service skills go along way. Hope the service gets better. Not everything was in these picture but Pictures to show everything was prewashed. Sorted into like categories. And laid flat. Probably should have take. Pictures of how she disrespectfully through everything back in. After leaving I went to two other resale shops don’t generally go to because of pat issues ( which was the reason I put all my business with y’all originally). They bought over 40 items ... and took time to look at the items and have friendly conversation and at the bare minimum they said hello and greeted me. Unlike Emily or the other individual at the counter at yours. Lastly I’d like to mention Emily called someone over and had them come smell the pink formal dress I brought in, first off that was bought and never worn but still had washed it before coming in, either way if you think something smells or isn’t of standards to your store, move on. Don’t embarrass customers. .

Don’t waste your time and shop elsewhere. Visited this store for the first time hoping to find a swing. When you walk in no one says hi to you, they just look at you like a lost deer. The swing we found was large so after we paid we couldn’t hold it and get the door open (my friend is pregnant so he can’t hold heavy things) all 3 of the employees just stood there watching us struggle and did nothing. The customer service is absolute trash. They had people in line that they had to be told to help. The employees don’t even have the bare minimum skills needed to work in retail.

I went in for the first time earlier this week because I had been going to kid to kid and they shut down. I brought a bin full of clothes and shoes. I was VERY IMPRESSED! I shopped around while they were going thru my items (about 30min) and I found amazing deals. Some items were a little more expensive then I was used to with kid to kid, also some were pretty warn in and a more expensive. But i searched and still was happy with what I found and paid. I received a little over $50 for the items that were selected. That surprised me after reading the reviews but I was definitely happy! Will be going back once the weather cools down to get warmer clothes for my girls!

I love the selection they offer. Almost every item of clothing I bought has been in like-new condition. If they spot any imperfections during checkout, they show you and ask if you still want it! One lady found a stain on an item I was purchasing & pointed it out - I still purchased it because she pointed it out & asked if I was okay with it (it was a baby outfit, my daughter would stain it anyways). The pricing is very affordable for all the toys, clothes, and gear! I hardly ever have a problem finding $100 worth of clothes for my children & that lasts them a whole season or more. They are well organized & friendly.

Susy saved my day! I went in to their store a little sour. I wanted to donate 30 little dolls from my etsy shop since i was no longer looking to keep the shop open. I did not have the appropriate container so i would have had to make 10 trips had Suzy not stepped in i would have been upset the whole time. Overall great service.

I used to love this store but lately customer service has been terrible! Came to sell some old close didnt know about the new policy that it couldnt be in a cardboard box. After the employee made me feel embarrassed for coming in. Then the employ chewed out my kid for touching the stuffed animals. For a store that is supposed to be for kids I felt imbarresed for bringing them!!!!

This place rips people off so much. I took them a stroller & a swing both priced brand new at $150. They bought both of them for $56. The cashier told me that they were just buying the stroller for $56 so that sounded okay to me. As I was walking out of the store with the swing they stop me & say oh no we are buying that too. I said but y’all said just the stroller? They also told me since the price was above $50 that they had to give me a check. They act like they didn’t have enough money in the drawer from the day. So I had to buy items to receive the money today. The manager was so rude a blonde lady. I will not be returning back here.

This place is such a huge rip off, they dont take clothes if they dont find them to worthy, plus if something had an older label they wont take it at all. Do not waste your time if you have normal children clothes apparently they need to be flawless!!! This place sucks, the people are slow and take forever. And everything is over priced for hand me downs!

I love the great deals on kids clothes and items. I frequently shop at OUAC but my recent customer service experience has solidified my status as a loyal customer. As I was leaving the store one evening, I realized I had lost my car key. I went back in just to see if anyone had found it. One of the employees helped me retrace my steps to see if we could locate it. She was incredibly helpful and displayed qualities I would expect in an ideal manager. She helped me look and kept checking on me but was still able to keep up with the tasks she needed to do before the store closed. I know how frustrating it can be trying to get everything done before closing but she never seemed impatient just genuinely concerned. I was there with my three kids including a toddler and baby. I also had left my phone at home 🤦‍♀️ Needless to say, it would have been a highly stressful situation if she had not been so incredibly helpful. As a mom of small children, it gives me peace of mind to know I am in the presence of caring and competent individuals who I could count on should a crisis arise (or just a typical instance of my own forgetfulness and chaos of having little ones). I have only had pleasant interactions with the employees and this experience only served to reinforce that.

Didnt give 5 stars because when I took my kids to the back to school sales event they only had ONE of 2 dressing rooms available. Took forever. There were boxes in the second one but the worker wouldnt move them out and gave me an ugly look. She said yall just have the one today. On a busy event day???

Typically when i go into the store i bring in a box or two of items i am ready to pass on to another family who could use them. This store is a great way to give back to everyone and feel like youre getting something back. Not every item brought in the store will be taken... A lot of the time i get back a lot of items, but they usually always do take at least 5 or more items and are willing to give store credit or cash for the items they need. They take items based on what they need and what condition items brought in are in. I will always try this store before giving my kids stuff off to a thrift store...Love it:)

I loved buying from this place so I figured why not sell some of my toddler’s barely used/unused clothing...a whole bin full...well, it wasn’t a pleasant experience. I was not greeted by the buyer, I just stood there until I was finally approached. Was not helped so I had to figure out the system myself because the girl kept walking away. Left my bin there, waited two hours just to be told they only picked nine items and were giving me $7 😑 okay I guess...Waste of gas. Apparently my clothes were not in style, but some of the clothes I’ve seen on their racks are not that cute. Oh, what also upset me was I had everything folded neatly & they returned my bin with the clothes just all over the bin. I didn’t say anything because I had my child with me, but never again will I go to here. I hear kid to kid is better.

I cant tell you how much I love this place. Its always clean, employees are always attentive, organize for better experience. The only thing why I gave it 4 stars its because I believe that a lot of stuff is overpriced I think they should go lower. I mostly go when they have good sales or for a special occasion. Overall great experience.

Came here for some clothes for my 4 yr old. they have a lot of stuff for her & boys; plus, shoes. prices vary, but I think its worth it to me. I walked out with 3 outfits(tops & bottoms) & 2 pairs of shoes for $30 dollars! (roughly half of the price that I would normally pay.) [Good Right]. there are restrooms. lots of parking. cant miss them. there are two stores in S.A.. staff was friendly. they do have popular name brands. (youll find some). give it a 👍. okay, good luck 😀👌

It was my first time in here today. I came to sell some clothing and toys. I normally sell stuff myself online but I needed to clear space ASAP. I had realistic expectations, I didnt think Id get $5 per shirt or anything. I brought 2 totes in. One full of clothing and the other with toys as stuff. They took about half, maybe a little more. I was pleasantly surprised with their offer of $49.50. Of course Id be able to get more money if I had sold myself, I had a lot of brand new with tags items, but time is money. They have to make a profit too.My only complaints are the carpets are kind of gross and stained.And not a complaint about the store, but other parents let their kids run around, barefoot even. Cmon people, control your kids.

So this was my very first time coming to this location on bandera, I recently moved here from Georgia, I have 2 older boys and a new addition a baby girl that’s soon to be here in in about 3 weeks. I’m a stay at home mom and let me tell you, this young lady name Destiny was super respectful and very helpful she explained the selling process to me because I saw people selling their items and I had to ask how they did it there for the future, she helped me with my items as she cashed me out, this young lady even offered to help take my things outside, I was there for about an hour because I was shopping around and the whole time she was doing a very good job working hard and helping others! If you need a good helping hand I ask y’all go to this location she’s an awesome cashier and deserves a raise! You don’t find to many nice employees now a days the manager should be very proud for hiring her, this place will be my go to store!! I’ll be sure to let my friends know! Good job destiny!

Not a bad place for kid clothes. Only issue I have is that they wont except clothes in a damn tote that is bigger than 18 gallons. So even if I was to take them out of the dang tote and into a smaller one, they would tell me no. Since originally it come from a bigger tote. Do you all want an article of clothing one at a time?

This store quite literally has the most incompetent employees. I could easily tell you who is going to get paid the highest prices just by a certain factor i wont mention here. I brought in $800+ resale prices and 95% of the items were in like new condition with many of them being actually new never played with. For the clothing my offer was $16 for 16 pieces. The remainder of about 40 pieces were not laid flat i .the basket but just tossed around. Now all the remaining items will need to be relaundered. As for the 42 high end learning toys which are either new or very gently played with...i was offered $9.for 11 pieces. These toys range in price from $30 used price to $125 new or gently used. And even though i took the time to layer these toys with plush towels to protect them...when i got my container...i was shocked and horrified to see all the damage done to my items. I took pictures this morning of my items prior to taking them to this store...i may just call my attorney and the news station. Perhaps that will make a change.

I went to this location on sunday, the open tome is posted at 12pm, it was 12:20 and they were still closed, there was a line of people with small children outside in the sun, when they finally opened I was surprised to see at least 6 staff ladies at the counter... 🙄, I thought maybe they were understaffed but I guess they just didnt want to open...

Absolutely love Once Upon A Child. Great clothes for great prices. But customer service is the worst at this location. Not just once, but several times Ive walked in and all employees behind the counter see me, yet no one will so much as say hello or welcome me or even smile. Today i went in to sell some items, the cashier looked at me and smiled, then turned away. So i stood there for another min before another lady turned around and asked if i needed help. She then tells me that they no longer accept items in bags, which i knew, but now apparently they will not allow you to transfer your items to one of their bins, according to corporate. Id really like to know if that is even true. If so, then thats really sad. And very poor customer service in my opinion. Ive never made a review anywhere, so you can imagine how these ladies made me feel.

The Manager & supervisor are extremely rude & immature, the employees that work there are immature. My experience there wasn’t the best & Im never going back. They let customers steal you’re baby clothing you’re trying to sell. I would save that chance & go to kid to kid! That place is better & the ladies that work there are sweet :) they make sure you’re things won’t get stolen.

This place has a good selection of gently used baby and kid clothing/toys/gear. Good prices too. I think most of the negative reviews are from those looking to sell their used items. I did sell them some stuff and the experience was fine. If you are looking to sell, go in with low expectations. They are not obliged to buy anything from you. It took 24hrs for me to get a quote and it was fair. Staff were consistently friendly each time I visited.

I needed to come in and get some clothes for my baby boy and a friend had recommended this place to me, so I figured that I would give it a shot and try it out. When I got there, I absolutely fell in love with the place! Prices were great, and customer service was outstanding as well! I was having difficulty picking things out, but then an employee by the name of Bryan attended to me and guided me towards the right direction! He was very hospitable and very helpful and made sure I got everything I was looking for! It was my first time coming to this store, and he made sure that I became familiar with it! Im definitely coming back in the future because it was an outstanding experience overall!

Dont bother taking anything of real value here. Your better off selling it on your own. Unless your just looking to donate. And the employees are not friendly so dont expect customer service.

This is a great place to find deals on kids clothes and more. If you bring a tub of clothes (in good shape) you can get store discounts or cold hard cash.

Store is good nice clothes and shoes but staff is always rude to many rules that are not listed in paper and not friendly. I brought my items in a plastic bag and was told was not accepted, that was only accepted in plastic bin or box. Then have so many items that they don’t have listed on paper that they do not accept, like stuffed animals, ect.

I LOVE THEM! Never have I ever been this excited about a store. I get very cute clothes for a fraction on the cost. They are always having sales and the have a rewards program. The employees are very nice. They have all sizes for kids and their selection for boys is fantastic! Plus they buy clothes so you can sell back your clothes and use that to get more. I recommend it to everyone.

Ive been a customer for about a year now & I never had problems till now, when I first started coming I would get usually a good amount of $ for my items and now lately I just been getting crap $ for my items especially items that are fairly brand new and also the shoes for a 1$ seriously!!! Ive gone to other locations and Ive got offered way more and also I just think they dont take there time looking at peoples items either cause when I left the store to drop off my basket they told me my items wouldnt be ready till later that today so usually when that happens I leave and wait for a text but not lately about 2 to 5 mins later I already get text messages saying my items are ready... I would not waste my time here again I recommend San Pedro location

Dont waste a trip if your stuff is in bags for resale. They want it in tubs. Of course you dont find that out until you get there. And if thats your reason that you call them, they wont tell that over the phone.

Come here most of the time to sell my sons clothes, and I had dropped my things off early this morning and I asked an employee how much longer for my clothes to be checked out and she said whenever we get to it and whenever you get a text message, but with an attitude. I mean clearly if you dont like your job, or dont like dealing with peoples questions than go elsewhere.

Walked in, Worker came up and said phone number? I laughed, and said well hi to you too.. came back later to pick up my stuff, they handed me the box of the stuff they didn’t want. I opened it and everything was just thrown in there. They have high and specific rules on how they want us customers to bring stuff in, they can respect that and give it back nicely. I’m not saying fold it and iron it, but don’t be careless. Not a horrible experience but they surely need things to work on.

They make you come back the next day to find out whether they will purchase anything or not. They also will assume you have donated the items if you dont come back within 24 hours of them sending the text message. Despite being the second time I had sold to them, my text message mysteriously didnt go through and thankfully I called before they claimed my stuff as theirs for free. Bad customer service. Most consignment shops take 20 minutes not 24 hours. At least be a little more friendly to the people who are bringing you your inventory.

I gave it 3 stars cause I dont think the workers care enough about the customers. I feel that they should do better by there customers if items are the same why would they be priced differently. And your response is just because the color is a little lighter on the writing. Need to do better if you want your customers to continue shopping there.

The selection of clothes is good. However, the prices of some of the lowered quality brands are too high. The shoe section is a joke with missing shoes, sizes in the wrong bin, and worn out shoes priced too high. The thrift store across the street has a lot better selection of shoes at better prices. I submitted clothes/shoes/toys last year and was not satisfied with the quote I was given. They had already dispersed my items and they were unable to gather all of them for me to take back so that I can go elsewhere. The lady that was helping me at that time seemed annoyed and I just took what little I was quoted and left. The past few times Ive visited the store on bandera the employees seem unhappy and annoyed by everyone/everything. I gave this 3 stars because I like that they sort everything by color and set out holiday items in a separate area. This makes it easy to just get what I need and get out of there.

Today was my first experience selling to them and needless to say was pointless. First they only take a small amount at one time, but this is only posted on their door and not their website. Went in, filled in a form, and was told they would text me shortly when it was ready. Two hours later I receive a text to come back. Drove back to only find out they would accept 4 items for $4 because they werent accepting those sizes. Heres a suggestion, screen what people are bringing in so you dont waste their time. I even wrote what it was on the description. They suggested I try Universal City location, an hour and half from my home. No thanks. Will go back go the other consignment shop next time.

Cute clothes for a fair price. But the staff is horrible. The only ones I’ve come in contact with are rude, they all look like they hate their lives & will take it out on you. Even the lady who I believe is the manager. She’s probably the rudest of all.

EVERYTHING WAS PRETTY DECENT CONDITION, AS SOON AS I ARRIVED THE EMPLOYEES THERE WERE RUDE AND ASK ME WHAT DID I WANT, I AM A VERY PATIENT PERSON AND BECAUSE I HAD SO MANY CLOTHES JUST IGNORED THE FACT THAT THE PERSON THERE WAS RUDE TO ME AND DECIDED TO LEAVE MY CLOTHES. I HAD TO ASK FOR THE FORM, BECAUSE THEY JUST GOT MY BINS AND PLACED THEM ON THE SIDE.I FILLED IT OUT AND ASKED HOW ALL THE PROCESS WORKED, THE EMPLOYEE SAID THAT THEY WERE GOING TO CALL ME WITHIN 2 BUSINESS DAYS TO MAKE ME AN OFFER AND TO PICK UP MY ITEMS. I NEVER GOT A CALL WITHIN THOSE 2 DAYS AND THE THIRD DAY I CALLED ASKING FOR MY ITEMS, ONE OF THE LADIES THERE TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD LOST MY INFORMATION AND COULD NOT LOCATE ME, FOR ME TO GO IN THE STORE TO SPEAK WITH A MANAGER AND PICK UP MY ITEMS. AS SOON AS I ARRIVED, THEY INFORMED ME THAT BECAUSE THEY HAD LOST MY FORM, THEY GAVE MY STUFF AWAY FOR DONATION BECAUSE SUPPOSEDLY I NEVER CALLED WITHIN THE 2 DAYS AND THEY THOUGHT I JUST DID NOT CARE FOR MY ITEMS. YOU ALL CAN IMAGINE THE ANGER I HAD, HOW COULD THEY HAVE DONE THAT TO ME? WHEN FIRST OF ALL THEY WERE THE IRRESPONSIBLE STAFF TO LOOSE MY FILLED FORM AND PLUS THEY MADE A DECISION WITHOUT MY CONSENT TO DONATE MY ITEMS. I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH A MANAGER AND THE MANAGER AT THE TIME WAS A TEENAGER LOOKING GIRL WHICH WAS TOTALLY RUDE AND COULD NOT RESOLVE ANYTHING! I HAD TO SPEAK WITH AN UPPER MANAGER AND SHE ONLY PROVIDED ME WITH A $20 STORE GIFT CREDIT. WHICH IS RIDICULOUS. NEVER AGAIN WILL I TRUST THEM OR RECOMMEND THEM!

Dealing with Karlie was the only positive experience at this place. Her customer service skills are above and beyond my expectations and I wish her the best! This stores buying policies are horrible though. They make you wait there for an hour while they price out your large items because they dont want to be liable. I waited an hour to hear that theyll give me $20 for a $140 swing that they plan on selling for $70. I went to Kid to Kid on huebner instead and got a way better deal and didnt have to waste time waiting while they priced my items.

This store is great for shopping but forget trying to sell them your stuff. The amount they offer is so low it isnt worth the hassle. I buy stuff for my kids here but donate any items to friends or charities.

Horrible customer service. Rude staff and owner.... a response to what I posted on their Facebook page that they refuse to post.Me:One of the most rudest places to resale to that I have ever been. Yelling at children for touching toys and equipment instead of speaking to parents.Owner:Im sorry if you think it is rude for us to protect the kids or our belongings but often the parents are no where to be found, the kids do not listen the first (nice) time, or we are thought of as a playground. And the parents are not always the nicest people to deal with when we have to tell them that their 8 year old was sitting in an infant swing and now the $60 swing is defective. Obviously, not our first choice but when the safety of the children or the items are at stake, we do what we have to. If parents kept their children with them and didnt let them roam free, we wouldnt have to be that way. Have a blessed day!

Yikes.Being a military wife, Ive shopped Once Upon a Child in 4 states, and more cities to count. This unfortunately, is the worst one we have visted.Im sitting in the parking lot as I write this review. The store is a madhouse. They have a line of grumpy customers wrapping into the back of the store and ONE cashier who keeps getting distracted and is slow as molasses the rest of the time.Im assuming they were going for impulse buys when they put all the Halloween costumes and clothing exactly where the line has to stand (instead of the front of the store where literally every other OUAC I have been to has it) but all this has done is create recipe for disaster. Everyone in the store wants to be where line is standing and its near chaos.To add to the madness, they just seem to dump clothes they are returning to customers who opted not to sell with them, everywhere. Boxes stacked right by the door, forcing strollers and parents with smallkids to avoid them like an obstacle course. So its not only messy looking, but it seems like customers could just dig through it. I have never seen this, at any other location.In addition to that, the clothes here look far more worn than previous locations. Im not sure if that is due to the clientele, or simply the buyers standards, but I used to buy heaping cart-fulls on every trip, and I just left with nothing.

I have been to this store multiple times and have always had a positive experience. I have both bought and sold items and was pleased with the quickness and fair prices on the items I sold, and was usually able to catch a good sale as well. I have sadly moved out of the state, but there is a store here in Colorado Springs. I havent gotten to check them out yet, but will this week. I hope they can hold a candle to the Leon Valley location!

Very nice and organized, had a clearance sale and stocked up on boys baby clothes, wish they had more 3-6, 6-9 month old. Overall I will go again

We walked in with two bags FULL of clothes and toys that were from my son. This does not include ththe boxes of toys in my truck. Judging from the comments being about clothes needed in a certain style- that was the only criteria that was met. I did not find anywhere on the website that items were needed to be in bins- nor did I see any signs. Again, this could have been an oversight on my part. I was not greeted by any employees. I stood behind a lady- when I noticed a second tablet and just assumed that’s what I needed to do. (Sign in) Two employees walked by and said nothing about the bags. One woman finally walked up and said nothing could be taken in bags. That was the beginning and end of our conversation. As soon as she told me this she walked away- and didn’t give me the time of day to ask questions. Only thing I can say is that from the door- some items did not look to be in style. We will stick to donating to children’s home.

This location has a really great selection of clothing. The 281 location, doesnt nearly have as much. I dont know why people have given this place a bad review, they have to make money so if you only have a few desirable items then no it wont be much. I live that I can buy all three of my kids 3 outfits and shoes for under $50. Im talking name brand clothes and Nike shoes! Cant beat it!

Good pricing but can be somewhat unorganized. Most of the clothes are in good shape-but shoes are not what I would consider to be gently worn items.

I love coming here, I always find good clothes for my son at this location and sell back all the old clothes that my son grew out from.

The prices are great! Their toy selection isnt that good. Its mainly baby toys. But they got tons of books and good selection of clothing and baby items.
