A food market which includes food for special diets such as keto, low carb, paleo, vegan, dairy free, etc. I found a lot of stuff for my diet which is pretty unsual for me. I normally have to order a lot from Amazon but this store sells most of my go-to-products. My only negative comment will be poor lighting in the main shopping area- so dark for a marketplace which makes it hard to read labels.
Roots has always been my go to place for my vitamins. They have the widest selection and best quality vitamins and herbal remedies. They also carry a large variety of natural and organic foods, drinks, teas, skin care, etc. we also love the spice section of the store where you can buy spices by weight. Can you scoop out the amount you want them please and small baggies that they will weigh at checkout. They also offer produce & beer/wine that are all locally sourced. There a also a cafe type place that is part of the store but also has its own entrance. They serve all fresh and locally sourced sandwiches, soups, and baked goods along with custom are smoothies and juices.I highly recommend both Roots to anyone that hasn’t been there, they have something for everyone!
This place is great. For my vegan/vegetarian peeps they have a couple of really delicious and healthy bowls. I had the dragon bowl which was vegan. It is really tasty and fresh. Comes with baked tofu. The other is the quinoa bowl which has cheese but you can do without it if you want. Lots of smoothies and juices to chose from. I had the sweet green smoothie. It’s prepared just right ! Lots of greens but not overpowering and not too sweet either. Just left a nice fresh pleasant and healthy taste in my mouth. I love the vibe of this place. Your surrounded by lots of raw wood slabs and the staff is just super friendly. To top it off they have another section with nick knacks and a decent little grocery store in back. It’s stocked with a fairly large variety of items for it’s size. Well done. Walked out with a good purchase of different vegan items. So glad I came here :-)
We went here on Saturday the 14th just before 12 o clock for lunch. It was mobbed. We had to wait in line to order our sandwich, I told fiance to get a table for us while we waited because it was cold outside (they have seating outside). The restaurant is right next to a crossfit gym and they seem to flock here after their routines. It wasnt impossible to find parking but it was a little less than pleasant, I would like to go here when its less packed. We did not try the smoothie bar but many people seemed to like it.I can honestly say this is one of a couple of restaurants that does vegan well. They definitely know what they are doing there which is awesome. I hate when new vegans try to attempt cooking vegan and they literally have no clue and the food has no flavor. The veggie wrap and the vegan caesar were both well done. The Veggie wrap was outstanding. Fresh and bursting with flavor. Very satisfying as well. The pickle on the side made me pucker. My fiance really enjoyed his chicken pesto sandwich. My only complaint is that I wish the vegan caesar had less Kale--bleh, Kale (in my opinion) is best in a chopped salad hehe, but really good still...Really interesting environment and I loved that they had a side bar with tons of hot sauces to choose from (bravo!) and water was plentiful.Would like to go here again...
I used to really enjoy this place. I would go to the kitchen to eat with my girlfriend. As we waited for the food we would check out the market. I would give it 5 stars but hasn’t been the same since the kitchen closed. Definitely could be creative and do online ordering or call in. Just my personal thought on it. Hopefully kitchen opens back up soon!
I love Roots! Its the best place around for natural and organic food, teas, herbal supplements and more. The refillable kombucha and olive oil and balsamic vinegar bottles are some of our favorites. Also herb pharm tinctures!
Awesome food and amazing customer service totally loved my first visit here and can not wait until I get more healthy food here highly recommend
I love ROOTS! Was disappointed today when 2 people entered the store with no masks on even though the door had a sign that clearly states masks required. I mentioned it to the clerk who said Its not my place to tell them and they come in all the time. I said it says masks required on your door! Hopefully that can be addressed.
Today I went to this Roots market to buy some of the vitamins and supps they have and bread. And when I left I again wondered why I had gone there. Well, they are about the only organic food store anywhere close to Fitchburg so I can go there or drive a long ways to Lowell or Boston.I bought a couple of prepared small meals for a late lunch. And regretted it. Some Pad Thai and a container of tuna with jackfruit. They tasted ugh!. I lived in Thailand and I loved to eat Pad Thai there. This stuff was not even close.Old produce that is past its peak and over-priced and some organic canned vegetables and a lot of cosmetics and New Age - or whatever they call it now - things. A decent selection of coffee beans that you grind up there. But the coffee was going to cost me 17 dollars. Right, 16.99 a pound. I asked - ? Why is it so much? I only got a few ounces of the coffee to see how I liked it. The cashier erased it and weighed it again. It was .34 pounds. Or something like that. O.K. So why does the cash register ring it up at one pound? The cashier set it aside and weighed it again and deleted it again and it was showing a weight of .3 of a pound and .4 and a price of 16.99 and 15.99.I passed on the coffee.I have bought a prepared salad there before - because it was convenient and saves the trouble to prepare a meal - but the cost for just a plastic container of lettuce and a few nuts and pieces of something nutritious is way out of line.I wanted something to drink - a beverage - to wash down the jackfruit-tuna and Pad Thai. There were no bottles of water or small containers of juice. Lots of ginger beer - who drinks this stuff? - and large bottles of kefir and I finally settled for a can of Kumbucha tea. For 8 dollars more-or-less. I could not finish that can either. Too much fizzy in it to drink down at one sitting and I wanted to drink something to wash down the chow at the time, not later. Why cant they stock some ordinary bottles of water? Even coconut water? They carry these at the Market Basket. As well as some decent bread and kefir and vitamins and you can buy water at the CVS pharmacy along with many of the supplements and the health bars that you go to Roots for.And the produce at Market Basket is pretty much fresher and cheaper. This is not an exact comparison, just my subjective impression from a few visits to Roots.A very small store crammed with a lot of over-priced organic stuff. Maybe they think they can get away with it because they are the only place around and you can take it or leave it.Try Market Basket and CVS first.
I’ll start out by saying the food is soooo good! It is is definitely a little more on the expensive side, but I understand it is is because it’s made with high quality products! I’ve been going here for years because of how good the food is. With COVID, they still have pick-up options, and I can’t get enough of the soup and jackfruit “tuna”. It’s one of the best vegan options in the area! Now I am giving two stars because I had to stop going, due to employees not wearing masks. One employee had his mask completely off of his face around his neck. This is quite concerning, as it is named a “health” store. I am so saddened that I do not feel safe enough to get food here, because it really was one of my favorite places in the area.
Love the Food & the smoothies, so fresh and delicious. The people that work there are also nice and friendly. Cant wait till the kitchen opens back up! :)
Always love the atmosphere here! Always busy because of the great food and beverages that they have on the menu! They offer a market as well as a place to eat for a quick breakfast or lunch. Will continue to come here for not only the organic products but the smiles that come with the experience as well!
Love this place. I drive forty minutes just to come eat here. Love the chocolate pb smoothies and the Kale salad is to die for!! I usually get two meals out of it since its pretty big, think Seinfeld big salad. ;) I recommend this place to so many people. I eat plant based, but its great that I can come here and bring family who may be apprehensive to most vegan restaurants. Thanks for making such tasty food & drinks!
My favorite place to grab lunch in the area. I love having the option to have healthier options that taste amazing. I have dreams of the California chicken salad sandwich. The staff is also awesome and I am really happy with the specialty drink options too.
Best soups in the area! I have been here over 20 times for the soup off and on, each time it has been a different type, and each time it has been a knock out of the park! Smoothies are all good as well. Health food store section items can seems a bit pricey at times, but I understand you get what you pay for, and the selection is large, and it is a wonderful local business to support.
Roots Natural Foods Market is a wonderful cornucopia of prepared natural foods and an excellent, but slightly limited choices of some items, due to the size of the store. That being said, I have always been able to find what I have needed, and found some good additions that I would not have thought of, without suggestions from helpful staff. The only drawbacks: Hours, and. Days open
Stumbled upon this place while driving to Western Mass. Excellent clean food and yummy juice bar.
After having a few great meals in the cafe, we hired Roots to cater my father in-laws memorial service. We got so many kind words about the sandwiches! They were extremely helpful and professional. If you make it to the cafe, their CDB lemonade and vegan bone broth are phenomenal.
Best healthy yummiest food! They have the best smoothies! The only downside I can say it’s a little on the pricier side but it’s worth it!
Great place. Love the food and fresh juice. Wish the hours were a little better. I would definitely go here more often if it opened earlier than 10am and on Sundays.
Great place for healthy options. I have a dairy allergy and can find great replacements in their market. My husband got my birthday cake from here and it was yummy - frosting was good, cake was a little dry. Love their smoothies too.
Good food and juice! Great market out back with a good selection for the size of the place. Can be a little slow sometimes but its not bad ( have some patients people this isnt Mcdonalds ) also who cares if they are closed sundays Im sure the employees appreciate it
Great food but slow service. Also, I cannot think of a good reason for them to be closed Sunday’s.
Maybe I was there on an off day. Stood at the cash register with my purchases while staff chatted with each other. Eventually put my items back and left. Have frequented the store over the years and never been overwhelmed by the customer service. On a more positive note the staff at the juice bar were excellent and the food is delicious.
The food is very good which is the reason I keep going back.Buuuuuuuutt..... I took a star off because you guys really need to work on the time it takes to make orders and also your attention to the order itself. An order online placed at 1030 should not take 30 minutes to make with no one there the same as if people were slamming the place at lunch. Also, paying for extras like cheese and avocado and then it not being included on the sandwich. And if you press a sandwich, when you do include the cheese as ordered it should not be placed in the middle between the lettuce so it never melts. Work on those things things and youre golden.
Great place to find many natural products including a nice cozy dining area that serves healthy drinks and food.
Great natural food. Tastes good and good selection but the service is awful. Everything moves in slow motion all the time
Only place in town to get delicious organic sandwiches, soups, salads and smoothies. A bit pricey but worth the cost. Very nice relaxed vibe and nice personnel as well!
Amazing food! Cool atmosphere, great smoothies, and nice workers. Didn’t think we had any healthy, delicious food this far out of Boston!
Best place to find organic a and healthy/safe options for your family. Its run by the most friendly and helpful staff. Its a diamond in the rough. Now with their new cafe its a destination!!! Go! You wont be sorry!
This place is a hidden gem in Leominster; youve gotta stop by! Although slightly pricey, all their dishes looked high-quality and fresh! I love that their items have a lot of nutritional variety and healthfulness to them, yet theyre familiar enough to be accessible to anyone from a hardcore organic vegan to your average dietary Joe. I got the Soba bowl with Tofu, and it was killer! And the portion size was pretty massive, so I guess I got what I paid for there. Just a warning though, they offer a lot of hemp and CBD stuff there, so if your in the military, be careful what you order!
We got two Grilled Chicken Pesto paninis and a Paleo bowl with power greens and honey mustard dressing. Worth the long wait, this is a healthy choice for any traveler or local. Delicious, flavorful, and filling is a great way to continue a journey. 😋🚙
I love this place Soo much! I wish it was open on Sundays so I could grab their delicious bone broth soups and a kombucha!
WHAT!?!?! THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM!!! The nicest staff, fresh VEGAN/VEG/GF/DF YUMMY food.Only reason for anything NEG is the parking. If you do go during peak lunch time, def worth it to park as soon as you see a spot. But THANK YOU for being here. No GMOS!! Love!!!
This place is a gem and I wish there were more casual eateries like it.
The food was so good and the drinks are too! Everything in the store is organic and good. It is a little expensive but is definitely worth it!
Making some life changes with the parents and incorporating green tea, probiotics, local honey and digestive enzymes into our diets. Thanks to the staff at Roots!! Especially Bob, your knowledge and guidance was much appreciated! Thank you! Love, The Recuperos.
Friendly staff & amazing food!! Love that you can go shopping while you wait.
It’s pricey by just a couple bucks ($11 for a sandwich or salad, $6 for a bowl of soup per say) but the portion sizes are solid and flavor quite scrumptious so I feel like it’s worth it even when my wallet disagrees lolNeedless to say I’m addicted...now I just need to increase my Roots spending budget lol
Amazing food! Healthy, fast, and cute atmosphere inside too!
The food is really good, but its pretty pricey and its always a long wait.
Staff is always friendly. Pretty expensive even for organic but the selection is great.
Very nice lay out and stock. Excellent prices.
Love it !!foods good a bit pricy but good and organic 🌳🌲
Cool place and good products. Had a great lunch.
Love this place!! its my new favorite place to get lunch.
Delicious menu! Nice staff!
Love..... Love..... Love this place, food and staff. Awesome food, love the quinoa bowl, with black beans and avocado.
Always excellent service and delicious food and juices. I go out of my way to come here whenever Im in town.
Best place for soup. Vegan tuna is delicious.
Excellent service, delicious sandwiches and smoothies!
Friendly staff and they have an awesome selection to choose from at their Market.
Service as good as their blue moon smoothie, which is GREAT! 👍
Simply amazing in every way.
The food and the customer service is amazing.
AMAZING FOOD
Very helpful and nice
So bomb
Amazing
I wanted to support local business, but not a single employee had a mask on. DUMB.
