I can almost always find what I am looking for at any of their nursery locations. They have a tremendous variety of annuals, perennials, and tons of trees. The quality of their plants are terrific.If you call ahead on availability of specific plants they can give you a yes or no, but you have to visit a location to have any questions answered. Their website is improving, too.And they are dog friendly :)

Great selection and the plants Ive gotten here have held up very well in the yard, garden, and house. Prices are very competitive - a bit more than you can find in family nurseries but much less than some other garden centers.Lots of fun and very pleasant to just browse the selection whether youre looking for something specific or just browsing.Wow! Such an upgrade from a few years ago when there were a collection of greenhouses with a dirt and rock parking area - and a warehouse for checkout and some lawn gear. Im very impressed.

I have been to five different stores to look at outdoor pots and plants. Today was my first visit to Suburban off hwy 7 and prairie star. Their selection was amazing and I felt like I had my very own personal shopper helping me as i made my selections. In today’s world it is surprising even seeing an employee let alone helping me select the best plant to fit in my new outdoor area. A shout out to Kaden that went above and beyond my expectations. This is a huge nursery/greenhouse. They have an incredible selection of all kind of plants. I was shopping for roses and they had hundreds. I was concerned about the price but their roses were about 10 dollars less than ones I recently bought elsewhere.

Its a fantastic place to buy plants and flowers! The staff was knowledgeable and very willing to help. I didnt give it the full 5 stars because the lines to check out were SO long and took so much time to get through. That was the only drawback.***(I have not been there during the week. However, I heard that it isnt as busy during then.)

Great service!Today was another great day at here Suburban, I was asked if I needed anything twice in about 10 minutes. They have a great selection to choose from that is in great shape. I checked out at the 1st register and was asked if I was member. I wish there was a way to know the cashier’s name without asking so I could report positive praise without her knowing. The other area of opportunity I would say is that my cart was put away while I shopping .

They have good product at decent prices but customer service is lacking. I ordered rock online, they said it was ready but they t wasn’t when I arrived. The employees in the yard were not friendly at all. Had to wait 30 mins to get it loaded. It’s a love hate relationship.Follow up - Matt the manager emailed me and explained what happened. Be prepared for a long walk throughout the entire facility, this place is huge and you cant just see one small area you have to experience it all one good thing is the outside area has golf carts. The staff is as friendly as they can be always very helpful this place is a must see.

Good news is the particular color hydrangea I drove 80 milesroundtrip for was available for purchase. Bad news was 1) altho 2 different employees directed me to Hydrangea hut, neither told me not to try to push a cart there because it is gravel, not paved, for 60 yards or so, and neither offered a ride on golf cart (i am 70 years old). 2) Altho website indicated 18 of the plants i desired onsite, not one was on display in the area marked Hydrangea. After much frustrated searching, i gave up and started difficult return of cart to main store. Ran across employee in golf cart, obviously on a different mission, and expressed my frustration and what i was looking for to her. Turns out the plants WERE there, just displayed outside a hut 3 removed from area marked Hydrangea and clearly marked as a different plant (i was so upset i dont remember which).Im very happy website was accurate, but disappointed i almost drove home without it due to poor labeling. As a side note, i had called phone nbr on SL&G website numerous times to confirm availability before leaving home. Call was answered by recording, transferred, 3-4 rings then dropped.

Jessica T.s service was excellent! She helped us find the right deciduous/evergreen trees, while also taking the time to explain everything about the trees and their unique characteristics. We bought 7 trees, really great experience, and we will definitely come back.

I usually love shopping here. I had a 15 gallon tree ($150) ready to purchase and pay for planting(another $120), but was told they were understaffed and currently not offering planting service. Recently moved to this area and every time I step foot in this location everyone is helpful and knowledgeable. Kudos to Sandy especially since she has helped me pick out perfect house plants that look oh so beautiful. Selections are abound in all areas. Couldnt find an item and asked two workers for help. The first sent me outside to wander around, and the other didnt know if they had my requested item or not. But, if they did it would be in the herbs. I like to buy local, but next Ill go to Family Tree!

I have not had a single issue with this location. The ladies who typically check me out are pleasurable.update 7/4/19 This is still my favorite Suburban Location. Millie, at the contractors desk is awesome. She is on top of things and makes the process extremely efficient. Which is important when you have a wide variety of plants to purchase. Customer service is top notch overall and so are the products.

I love this place but some sales staff seem disconnected from other areas within the store. You have to find a pond person for pond plants and a butterfly person for butterfly gardens, etc. Also watch the signs carefully because the cashiers seem unaware of which plants fall under which price range. The choice of plants is outstanding.

Very beautiful facility with a large variety of plants and lawn and gardening products. Jazzy music to top it all off. Somewhat on the expensive side, but the vast majority of the plants seemed to be healthy and without damage.

Was a muggy hot day but saw one employee checking on others to make sure they had water, was it cool enough, even did ask if they needed ice in the cup. Would have been nice to had water available for customers.

Wanted to get suggestions for several different landscape issues I had. 7-10 plants to replace dead builder-installed bushes, a flowering ornamental tree, and suggestions for screening trees. The place looks new and clean and is HUGE. Got a lot of smiles and when someone asked what I needed, she went and got the expert Travis to help me. He looked irritated to have to help. When I asked about a hydrangea tree that their website stated they had over 70 of in stock, he rolled his eyes and said the website isnt accurate and everyone comes in asking about things they supposedly have in stock. As if it were the customers fault for believing it? When I explained and showed photos of the areas I needed help with, he kind of just stared at me. Not sure if he was high or just hates his job? But there was zero help from this guy. He acted like I was wasting his time. Eventually I gave up and said Id just go walk up and down the aisles myself and grab things. We asked him for a cart or flat bed something to put plants on. He dragged a cart over the rocks and left it there. Super helpful since the cart wont roll over rocks. Sorted through all the plants myself, got some healthy looking ones (I hope) and dragged the cart to the register. I was so irritated by the time I got to the car I cant imagine ever going back. Tip for SL&G: if you have a website with actual inventory counts on it, make sure its accurate.

I’ve been looking since last spring for a unique pot to replant my Grandma’s Philodendron. I had almost given up. But today, I found the perfect pot in Suburban’s huge selection. I’m glad I made the stop at Suburban Lawn & Garden.

We placed a web site order that said our order would be complete after we were contacted for payment and scheduling, within 24 hours. We kept our phone with us constantly. the next day we called to ensure our order was going to get scheduled as we had scheduled help and bought plants for the weekend, but needed to ensure delivery.The person on the phone said she knew nothing about our order but would be glad to take the order over the phone. So we went through the process of relaying what we had ordered.She said she would check with the boss and call us back. Why?Why couldnt our order be paid and scheduled right then?we were frustrated but said okay. No one ever called back. After we got off work it was too late and knew we would not get an order by the weekend.So we sit here with no help and plants wilting on our front porch. We will not try to order again from this place.

I like Suburban Lawn and Garden because they have plants and trees you won’t see at most other places. I bought trees that love to grow in standing water in the back yard. I also bought drifting roses which are pretty all summer without all the maintenance of normal roses. Everyone has them but at Suburban Lawn and Garden they have unusual colors.

It was great . Friendly helpful employees. Beautiful displays. And a great selection of flowers and trees . Ill be back for more mums .

This place is a danger to my wallet. Window shopping? Who’s that I don’t know her. I always intend to go in for ONE thing, suddenly years of will power fly out the window and I have an unbalanced ratio of plants to pots ensuring I have to come back again later. Love it.

WOW is all I can say about this brand NEW facility. I have not been to a Suburban facility in the past 10 years, but I will most definitely return to this one in Lenexa. Fully covered for weather elements, except for the outside plants, but using a golf cart is great on the legs, especially if you need to look around. Pricing of inside merchandise is a bit pricey, but it gives you many great ideas if you like to be outdoors. I even found some bird houses and feeders which surprised me.

Very nice selection of plants and gardening materials. Some things have good prices others are a buck or two high. Reasonable.

Update:Sandy from this location reached out to me. Her customer service skills are top-notch. Obviously they care what their customer’s think and they care about the products they sell. Thanks so much for your understanding and hard work!Original Review:Indoor palms have two-spotted spider mites - there are also no refunds or returns for their tropical plants. That was a $200 lesson for not looking closely enough at my purchase before checking out. I won’t buy any more indoor plants from them - and wouldn’t recommend anyone else to either - but I do like their other indoor/outdoor decor and gardening items. Employees are friendly and it’s definitely a fun place to check out.

The guys at suburban lawn and garden are great! All of the staff was friendly and helpful. When we ordered too much mulch they let us bring it back as long as we shoveled it out of the trailer ourselves. It started raining and the guys that work outside in the loading area came over and helped us out. This made my day as I was exhausted. Thank you. I will be doing all of my lawn and garden business here from now on.

This place used to be a small, intimate shop. It is a huge, corporate mess now. Its a half and half on service. Some of the staff are prompt in any assistance and knowledgeable of the products and the other half are dismissive and really dont seem to care about the products. I dont know about the plants, but the prices on mulch and landscaping rock are fair and the quality is good. In future years, I might have to make my purchases online and just pick up instead of dealing with the madhouse this place has turned into.

Great variety...VERY expensive!

Only had to call the location 3 times the day I was supposed to receive my my mulch delivery before they realized they hadnt processed the paperwork. At 3PM they then processed the order and got it out for delivery. Took a day off work and mulch did not arrive until after 4:30 PM. Just figured it may help other customers to be aware of this possible issue when scheduling delivery. Otherwise great company and product.

Awesome! I was looking for perennials that I would normally have to order, and they had a nice selection and most of what was on my list. I drove a distance to check this place out and was not disappointed! They were very kind and if they did not know an answer to a question, was on the phone calling someone who did know...I will make this journey again! Thank you!!

I was behind one of their dump trucks on K10. Gravel was coming out the back hitting my wind shield. I called the store and they could have cared less the tarp was not covering the bed properly. Nobody wants to pay $400 for a windshield. I would not do business with them after talking to them on the phone.

After placing an online bulk order for mulch and soil, I was disappointed to find out today that the free delivery for the bulk order is not actually free at all. It would have been simple and helpful to have stated this on the site at the time of my order. Instead, I ended up scaling back my order to the minimum and will get the rest of what I need as well as the $300+ worth of trees and shrubs that I intended to purchase from Suburban this weekend elsewhere.

Will never shop hear again. Was told I had to wear a mask and its law. Lol youre business is a joke.
