Worked with Brian on selecting two different sets of track heads for some track lighting systems where the head selection was confusing to me with the many options. Brian helped select the heads and was quick to respond to every email and call. Great to work with and I will use him again. Way easier than trying to pick out some heads at a big box store. He did help me match some heads I found on Amazon and the price was very fair.
Thank you Creative Lighting Designs for providing the personalized service not available to me online. I went to them with a lighting plan and some online options. The staff was more than willing to match any online pricing and also gave me more options to choose from to enhance my final look. I ended up with my 2 new vanity lights and a beautiful hanging light for my dressing room. This shop was definitely a great find for me, and knowing I was supporting local shop owners was an added bonus. I highly recommend them.
I was sent to this store by my electrician to select the type of recessed lights we wanted to use in our renovation. While there, I noticed that they carried the chandelier I wanted for my dining room so I ordered the chandelier and put in the deposit. Easy, and pleasant. Fast forward to today when I received a call indicating that my electrician was going to be there in 10 min and that I had to give him my credit card for the balance of my order, which after clarifying on the phone while I was driving, was including the selections ordered by my electrician. I was confused as I expected the order placed by the electrician to be paid by him and to pay for the chandelier I had ordered on my own (we have done 3 home renovations and this has always been the way it worked with electricians). As soon as I mentioned that I thought the electrician who placed the order should actually pay for his order and then bill me for all of the work etc. the owner became angry, contentious and argumentative. He then said it was under my name and I had to pay for it all right then and was hoping I would pull over to give him my credit card. I told him I was dropping off the kids at school and that I would have to call him later. He was persistent about me paying for it and when I told him that I wanted to speak to the electrician first he then said hold on…. My electrician must have just arrived…. And handed me off to the electrician. As suspected the electrician said he had placed his order under my name and was planning to pay for the bill and then include it in his total bill to us for the project. He said he’d pick up my chandelier and I told him I would call back the store owner later in the day with the credit card for the balance on the chandelier.Within two hours of that call I received a revised email invoice for the chandelier balance as well as a phone call asking me to call back with my credit card. I was in and out of stores with bad cell reception for that time so I waited to call back when I was not driving or in public spaces. When I called I mentioned that I was disappointed with the owners handling of the situation and his overall tone and poor customer service. He then went into a tirade cutting me off mid-sentences and was unnecessarily angry and belligerent to the point of yelling at me. I mentioned that I could not imagine returning to his store and that’s when he said “I don’t give a S*%# !...and you cannot come here.. I am banning you from my store…” It did not end well and I am curious why he was so nasty and offensive over a $300 balance that I was obviously paying. I have never been treated with such a level of anger and animosity by any service person let alone a store owner. Stay away, not worth the energy and aggravation.
The staff are extremely rude at this store, items are way over priced, and when you call and they put you on hold the phone alarms in your ear to point that you cant hold it up to your head! I ordered a fan that was on back order, which I wasnt informed of until I called them two weeks after it was supposed to arrive. Paul and Brian were both very rude in the phone and in the store when I was trying to get information about the arrival of my fan. I will never order, buy, or step foot in this store again. I wouldnt recommend their service to anyone, everything they have you can find online for half the price, dont waste your time!
We stumbled upon this store (very close to us - I think we stumbled - or maybe John had heard of it) - when we started to build our dream house six years ago. They have some beautiful Hubbardton Forge - which is hard not to be distracted by - but also lots of beautiful lower priced lights. Great prices for what they have (I think. Ive always been very happy). If you want a less expensive light - definitely go to Home Depot or .... we dont have one - but Ikea. ... But I think weve bought almost everything in our house from this place.Ive searched the internet, Craigs List, eBay, other stores - but we continue to find ourselves back at Creative lighting. Today we selected (likely to space out with the actual buying) our bathroom vanity lights (two) and a fan for our living room. And pendants for kitchen. Incredible salesmen. Or as we refer to them: Brian and Chris. Brian definitely came to our house six years ago - and we still chat with him as if he remembers the layout well (Im sure there was no flooring as we talked at length about the dining room / kitchen split challenge). I dont know if he actually remembers - but perhaps that doesnt matter. If you want to talk with someone about lights: go to their showroom. And tell them what you want. Its a great place.
Understaffed, be prepared to wait for service. I bought a fixture to replace one that I thought was broken, but found out that the electrician didnt hook it up properly so I didnt need the new one. Got charged a ridiculous (20%!) restocking fee for a box that was never opened. Awful customer service, Ill never shop there again.
