My family and I dropped in on my business partner and his family earlier today in Lebanon.I told my wife and kid that if they came with me we could stop by the ice cream joint we had heard so much about earlier in the year.We are all glad that we did… Each of us grabbed an appetizer. I had chili cheese fries, my son had plain fries, and my wife had chicken tenders. Every bit of it was hot and delicious!!For a dessert, I had a chocolate malt and my wife and son both decided to have a small cup of the Rasberry chocolate chip!! Village ice cream parlor and restaurant just added three more fans to the mix!Thank you for a wonderful meal and the great service! We will definitely be back the next time we’re in town.
Stopped here to get dinner on a mother-daughter evening out. We had good food and great service. The girls working there were really busy and very polite and friendly. We will definitely be back and would recommend stopping here for food or for dessert! We shared their lemon chiffon ice cream and it was great!
Our very first visit and we enjoyed it. Our waitress was very sweet. The food was good and the ice cream is amazing.
Ordered take out. Was told 15 minutes on the phone but it took 1 hour. Still didn’t have all the food and what I did have was cold. Looked like a good ice cream parlor but stay away from ordering food from the kitchen.
Truly a old fashion ice cream parlor they have great food they even serve old fashioned phosphates there definitely a return trip soon
The customer service was awesome. We had an awesome waitress. Her name was Karen. She was kind and very on top of things.
Great service and dine in allowed. Seating is minimal due to covid so target off peak hours. We arrived 1130 on Sunday and were seated an served immediately with pretty fast food arrival. Ice cream here is excellent and they do have some interesting and seasonal flavors. Old fashioned ice cream shop, in an old fashioned downtown. Great setting, our kids love it too! Cant wait for some warmer weather to visit more often!
Delicious ice cream. Nice service fast service. I love the place. Im coming back, definitely!
If you have not been to the village parlor you need to go. Blast from the past. Good dinner food and reasonable prices
Friendly service, great food and great ambiance. We love going to the Village Parlor for lunch and ice cream. I love their tuna melt with sweet potato fries.
Village Ice Cream Parlor is good. But Whits is better. They are located on the same block.
My favorite is the bacon pimento cheeseburger! It’s the best! Service is great too!
Very nice place and friendly staff. In case you didnt know... 2 movies had been filmed there.
Great food and great Icecream. Much better than Whits
Been coming here for years. Great food and service. But Lately it takes forever to get your food. The cooks do not wear hairnets. Hate to see things go downhill.
Never had anything bad here...great sandwiches and good ice cream.
Cant thank my sever enough. Made my outing with my six year old granddaughter a memory that I will have the rest of my life. My granddaughter loved the birthday cake ice cream
We were served racial bias & hatred cold. My husband and i love to explore small eateries. With rave reviews, this one stood out. On August 19th, we drove an hour from Univ of Cincinnati to reach this place. But once there, we only felt that the waitress showed nothing but resentment towards us. We ordered a chicken burger, cheese sandwich, turtle sundae and chocolate lava cake with fresh raspberry / sauce. While other guests were being served the food on ceramic plates, we were served burger & Sandwich in styrofoam plates, and were offered no sauce, ketchup or sides at all.Despite her unpleasant behaviour, we gave her a benefit of doubt since the restaurant was busy (3/4th of the restaurant was full). And we wanted to give it a fair chance. We drove an hour to get here. But things only got worse. We werent served water, we were asked to fetch it ourselves from the counter. She walked up to our table, piled the food boxes up on our table & swiftly left, like it was a to go order, when she was fully aware that we were dining in. She didnt come take any further orders. I then ordered for a chocolate lava cake with raspberries to go, since they were busy. It took forever, so I walked up to them and reminded them. The waitress then goes in, heats the Lava Cake, puts it in a Styrofoam box accompanied with very little Raspberry sauce and no fruit inside. I ask her, she unapologetically mentions theyve run out of the berries. I request her for a little more sauce. she hesitatingly obliges. The whole experience was discriminatory to say the least. She projected so much bias towards serving us, i dont think i can describe in words. While fast food occupies an outsized place in American culture, small heritage eateries represent cultural ethos of the region, and we love to support local communities. While food was great, people working in these places should be cautious not to channel their personal biases onto customers. She was rude. I am deeply hurt, will be vary of entering a this restaurant again to avoid such bitter experience.
The parlor burger is excellent and we loved the old fashioned ice cream soda served in a frosted glass.
Always a delightful place for a late lunch. Servers are friendly and attentive. Best grilled pimento cheese around. Thank you Aaron. Our granddaughter enjoyed the ice cream cone.
I love this place. And hey, they got new furniture (tables and chairs)!
Absolutely love this place. First time here and I will definitely return every opportunity I get. The chocolate milkshake and Western BBQ Burger were amazing. The Chilis cheese fries and the environment itself or enough to top off our experience this time. I cannot wait to come back in the future to try other items off their fabulous menu.
Got there 30 minutes before they closed and were told it was too late to order food.
Loved the Cherry Jubilee Sunday, it hit the spot on a hot Saturday afternoon.
Excellent service, the Burgers were delicious. Banana Fudge ice cream was Amazing!!
Food was very off today.. grilled cheese had one slice of cheese and the bread tasted like it was cooked in grease or burnt butter. ..other food was the same.. old grease.I should have known when its 12 noon and only 1 other customer there.. 50 dollar meal and could have gotten better at a fast food drive thru...
Burgers, sandwiches, flavored sodas, and ice cream. This place has a nice feel and good food. A classic ice cream parlor.
Great food and ice cream but I had to wait some time for my food
Excellent service and food.
Full service restaurant and ice cream parlor. My wife and I shared a brownie sundae, yum. My grandsons had a scoop of cotton candy in a sugar cone.
Very good food...a little run down, but still awesome ice cream.
This old time ice cream parlor has soda jerks that can dip a cone or whip up some ice cream soda or sundae magic. Its the best moose tracks my husband has ever had- reminiscent of drinking chocolate. My sons salted caramel chocolate dipped pretzel ice cream was amazing too. The ice cream was incredibly good- we will definitely be coming back. The historic tile floor, high ceilings & wire chairs were like stepping back in time. It was a great stop after spending the day caoeing down the river.
The food was hot & good. The waitress was very nice. They were pretty busy in there.
Go here for the ice cream and all that jazz, food menu is the compliment. The desserts and drinks are the fancy side. Love the classic environment to the old days, love the historical context. Also learned that it was a famous spot for the movies!
Rock star staff. Something for everyone here.
Carmel banana split and pineapple soda is delicious
The burgers and onion rings are delicious! The ice cream is just OK.
Friendly people good food clean restaurant nice atmosphere
The place is nice, its got a nice feel to it. I feel like the food is a little over priced for what you get, Im not one to pay for ambiance though. A couple things were wrong with my order but they did offer to fix the mistakes over the phone which is good. Not sure if ill go back, but its not a bad place. Might stick with DQ.
The place is nothing fancy--and that is the charm. I have had larger portions (who really needs those) and more tasty burgers, it was authentic. Its an older, interesting building with a simple menu. While there are better and more affordable locally owned places, this one has a feel of simplicity, yester-year, and small charm town. Dont expect big city or chain restaurant, and just enjoy a local, small down burger, sandwich and ice cream joint.
Wonderful old school ice cream parlor The menu is to exciting. Wide selection of toppings. The Sundae offering looked tempting. I had a delicious Raspberry dark chocolate chip in a cup. Ill be back for sure
Our family loved it
A great privately owned restaraunt with a lot of selections, good food, and incredible ice cream. This is a place you see in the movies.... The classic family diner with the milkshake bar, quarter machines, kitchen window.... Its kinda nostalgic in a way. Staff has always been friendly, the store has always been clean, and the food always great. They are closed on mondays though, and are usually busy. Best sweet potato fries in the city of lebanon that pair perfectly with a western buger and a large strawberry milkshake!
We came here for dinner and ice-cream. We were very well served, the food was good, the ice-cream was delish! My husband enjoyed his chicken tender meal- the tenders were hearty and moist. The only reason for the loss of a star was the Village sandwich special with ham and cheese had only a construction paper thin, skimpy, undetectable slice of ham on it. For the price, I expected more. We would return, though - and recommend to friends for the ice cream.
This was a great choice for the whole family! The service was fast and friendly, and the food was all very good. We stopped in to eat before our ride on the North Pole Express, and returned after the ride for dessert. Overall, everything was excellent!
The seats are old school & its hard to sit comfortably. The food is alright too, nothing to write home about. The ice cream & milk shakes are great!
Ummmm I was sitting here for 5 minutes with waiters going to the people next to us and not even give a menu
Pure American and small town feel. One of my favorite places to take my family for lunch or icecream.
Prompt and friendly service, quality food and great ice cream. A quaint and special part of our towns charming downtown area.
Love this place. Its a cute ice cream parlor with tables and a full menu.Right on the main thoroughfare downtown. Its a step back in time.Great sandwiches and burgers cooked to order and served on a plate. Nice selection of sides.Desserts and pies! And they even will make you a phosphate!
Always a wonderful experience! The ice cream is fantastic! There are so many things to choose from. The food on the menu is great too. We love the atmosphere. It has a small town feel. The wait staff is friendly and quick. The last time we ate there was on a day when the train was running. We arrived after a good portion of the train riders had just ordered. The place was packed and we still received our order very quickly.
Tucked away in historic, downtown Lebanon, along with great ice cream, their food is delicious and always made to order the way we like it!
Best milk shakes and cheeseburgers in town!!
Adorable ice cream parlor. I had a double scoop salted caramel chocolate dipped pretzel in a waffle cone bowl and it was delicious. Pricing is low compared to other area ice cream shops. Service was great. Highly recommend. We will be going back because to try the food as well.
This place isnt fancy, but the ice cream concoctions are pretty amazing. We had the Brownie sundae (amazing, perfect amount of brownie, fudge, ice cream and whipped cream to have a bit of each in every bite) and the strawberry soda (delicious and perfectly blended). The set up was super cute and wait staff was competent and friendly.
Only had ice cream but it was very good. Will try to eat a meal.
Adorable soda shop with delicious salads and sandwiches to fill you up and then ice cream to cool you down. Love the creative flavors - lemon chiffon and chocolate covered banana to name two - and sundaes like the King of Rock. Service was fantastic!
An amazing old fashioned ice cream bar. This is a great place for a light lunch both for locals and people visiting. Decent sized menu. The architecture is incredible and the restaurant is blatantly historical. Try the banana split or a shake next time you’re in town.
I absolutely LOVE this place! The ambiance is really quaint and cute. I always feel like I traveled back to the 1950s in a good way. The prices are ridiculously cheap, the food is great, and the atmosphere is excellent. Definitely try the root beer float!
I love visiting a great landmark spot that was used twice for Hollywood movies such as Harper Valley PTA and Milk Money. The staff is very friendly and the ice cream is awesome. The shakes are the old school hand dipped like the good old days. This is a very worth while stop when ever in Lebanon Ohio. The front entry has history of the two films that were filmed there. A great symbol of good Americana.
Wonderful old fashioned ice cream parlor, but count your change! Gave the girl a $20 bill and got change back for a $10. I complained and the manager on duty asked me to leave my phone # and said hed call me the next day. No call . I think the girl pocketed the extra $10, but who knows for sure except her. I definitely gave her a $20 bill and I will certainly not go back there again!
Great old fashioned ice cream parlor. Service was Great. Thanks Megan!!
I brought out-of-town Real Estate clients in for a meal. We enjoyed delicious soup and outstanding ice cream!! Wonderful experience for my clients as Aaron, the owner, came by and shared lots of info on upcoming Lebanon events. He is always lots of fun. Great food!! Thanks Aaron!!
Great place for family to gather over great food. Be sure to request the pretzel bun! I had the bbq burger and it was delicious!
I cant even say enough good things about this place! Food is amazing as is the staff! Love love LOVE this place
Lovely place. Great people.. Very kind
For years I came here for my favorite sweet treat a perfect Chocolate Malt. And a few weeks ago I went back after two years away and ordered my favorite. They’ve changed the recipe! I’m told that I now have to specify that I want chocolate ice cream used for my chocolate malt. Why the HELL would y’all use vanilla ice cream for a CHOCOLATE malt?! I OBVIOUSLY want chocolate ice cream since I ordered a CHOCOLATE malt!!But seriously, can y’all please invest in new seats? They were never comfortable.
Everything was delicious!! Got a burger with pimento cheese and it was one of the best burgers Ive ever had. Ice cream sundae was awesome. Not too pricey. Great atmosphere.
Old time soda shop. The meals we had were average, however, they did have great ice cream.
I wonder why we dont stop here more often. My boys and I stopped in for dinner and were amazed at the quality of the burgers and onion rings. They were delicious. Service from Conner was fast, friendly, and En Pointe! Great local spot for a fast, casual bite to eat with great desserts and ice cream. We will be back. Often!
Certainly has ambiance and the service was fine. The acoustics in here are terrible and the seating uncomfortable. The food and ice cream are so - so. The basic burger is cooked very well done and okay if you like it crisped and dry. The toasted buttered bun, crisp lettuce and tomato rescued it. The French fries were bagged frozen crinkle cut presented just this side of stone cold. The ice cream is okay, nothing special. The waffle cone was beginning to go stale around the top third, and the portion was small for the price. My $10 for a very basic quarter pound burger, fries and ice cream (plus tip) would have gone a lot further at Wendys. I had started with two stars and gave it a third because I admire locally owned businesses, but I doubt I will be back.
Was delicious.... The staff was so nice and the food was amazing.
Old school ice cream. Such a treasure to find.
Amazing hamburgers and ice cream!
Clean and friendly service but dont think you get a good proportion for the price.
Amazing cheeseburgers!!!! The vegetable soup is scrumptious! LOVE the ice cream! Banana fudge is delicious! Come try their amazing flavors!! If you arent sure which one to try ask them for a sample!! You cant go wrong!! Do yourself a flavor and come to this gem in Lebanon!
Great food! Four stars instead of five was because it took forever to get our food. It wasnt packed so we didnt expect it to take that long.
The Village Ice Cream Parlor is a pleasure to go to. Its interior has remained the same and reminds you of the classic soda shop. I wish theyd wear the retro uniforms. The employees are very pleasant. Part of what makes Lebanon nostalgic.
This place is cute. Great value for what you get. The ice cream is always delicious and the staff is fantastic. We make it a point to always stop here when in town
Ehh food food is decent but u have to wait quiet a long time even when the place is empty and the service has gone way down here we have been coming for years and hate to say it but we will not be returning after todays visit definitely need to hire new people to run the floor as they are starting to hire bottom of the barrel people who really don’t care about the guest. Tables were also Dirty prior to sitting down but we cleaned it ourselves
Looks clean! They are extremely nice and the ice cream is excellent. Homemade! The music is great too, fits the aesthetic.
Best double chocolate fountain sodas EVER! Im 40, and Ive been getting these ever since my grandma introduced them to me when I was a little girl. Ive been taking each of my 3 kids to the Ice Cream Parlor for years each time they have their birthday. We live 30 minutes away, and since its the only time we get to go its a real treat when we do! Food is fantastic, too!!
