Very nice place! Has large RV area as well as a largecamping area. Both have river access. The camp store is very nice and well stocked. The kids will love it with play grounds, basketball court, volleyball, disc golf and river swimming. There are multiple water features. The place is well maintained and clean. The only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is they dont have any secluded camp sites in the woods, but what they do, they do well! Wish I could give them 5&3/4.

This place is beautiful! Concrete, level pads. Over flow parking if you have an extra vehicle. They have a playground for the kids if you arent playing in the river. Theres a pavilion if you are with a larger group. They also have rentals (kayaks, rafts, and canoes).**Only one caution**If you come after hours, pull into the store parking lot. The road to the campsites are through the parking lot. If you try to use the outside road, you will be taking a 25 minute, gravel road detour to turn around. Dont trust Google Maps on the quicker turnaround!! Go back to Hwy 64. You cant make the turn in the first turnaround and its not really a public road anyway. Trust me.

Awesome time. Fishing was great. Kayaking was great. Enjoyed my time off. I could live there year around. Cool store at campground. Shower house kinda gross and out dated. Laundry machines on site, which is nice. Campground is good lots of space. River right across the campground road. Hidden gem for sure. Right across from the Bennett Springs state park entrance. Staff were great. No issues, pull through sites. Good time for all. Thanks again. We will be back.

Been coming here for years full hook up camping. Started with our campsite having a lake in the driveway. You could not get out of your vehicle without being in a mud hole. It was a fight with Billy Bob the host to get some gravel because its too expensive. Its obvious by looking at several sites and the road that they dont maintain what they have but they keep building more sites. They then hounded us and several others about parking at the river. We always have come with a large group and used to really enjoy it but no more. We will be spending our money elsewhere from now on.

This was the easiest Rv setup I have ever had at any campground. I absolutely love the level concrete pad. We caught Rainbow Trout right out of the river, Tubed down river from the bridge and also kayaked for miles.!! I highly recommend this camp ground and plan on returning!!

Stayed this time for just over a week and it was fabulous. We had an electrical issue ( our camper not their post) and couldnt run on shore power. We could only run the generator. It was nearly 100 three of those days. Bobby ( onsite host) came down any tried helping us out. He changed out our GFCI, hoping it just went bad on us. This guy was amazing!!! He tried for well over an hour to get us going again. I cant say enough great things about this campground and the staff. The entire group makes you feel welcomed and like youre an old and cherished friend. It doesnt matter if its your first time here or your fiftieth. The campsites are well maintained. Maintenance is always up to date. The shower house is clean and water pressure is great. Its always a great experience staying here. ( Even if our camper acts up)

Im a regular here. Ive always loved the grounds, the river and the staff. This week was a big disappointment for one reason..the lack of cleanliness! The womens bathhouse was so disgusting. My husband said the mens was even worse. Both had clogged toilets overflowing with feces. The showers were full of hair, mildew, old soap and spiderwebs. Shower curtains were disgusting and moldy. (You can wash those btw) The Porta potty was full to the top and I cant begin to tell you how awful it was. Plus no toilet paper. There was literally no place to use the restroom. I ended my trip a day early because it was so nasty. I drove home as quickly as possible and took a nice hot shower.

Very well kept campground and RV park. We stayed in the last row of RV sites which I reserved two months ahead of time. The site was listed as full hookup but because the last row was newer the septic was not available. This is misleading and should have been brought to my attention ahead of time. When I asked about it I was told they could move me to another site in a day or two if a cancellation occurred. Additionally, they decided to mow, rake and bale the pasture area next to us. Not very peaceful and it kicked my allergies into high gear. Even after these inconveniences we’re willing to give it another try but be aware of exactly what you’re getting up front.

Labor Day stay at HVO. We arrived, hooked up, an hour later we had an issue. Called the office, Bobby the camp host was there in a flash. He assessed the issue,, called Joe in and in no time, problem fixed. Last day on the river, I had an unfortunate occurrence. Fat guy, (me) front of boat, stump, over the side and hurt myself. Got to the take out and Joe was there, made sure I got back to camp comfortably. Young fella Dalton that took me? Nicest kid I met in awhile. All in all this outfit is TOP NOTCH!! From one end to the other. Awesome camp sites, service and a family atmosphere. As a businessman myself, I know a well ran business, and this crew is one of the best. Very big camping park right on the Niangua River. Staff was quite friendly and accommodating to their guests. A few drawbacks...only trash receptacle was at the front gate, no water at sites, several portapotties strategically placed around the horseshoe drive, but they were so small it was difficult for an adult to help a child do their business, and hard for adults to do theirs. There is only 1 shower house but it is not centrally located. The store did not sell much real food in their grocery section, so had to drive all the way to Lebanon to get meat and veggies. They did have a small kitchen, but the prices for sandwiches was outrageous! Would probably enjoy spending one night, going on float trip then bugging out.

This was our first time here and we will definitely stay again! The campground and facilities were very clean and well kept. Each RV site had a concrete pad and fire pit which were clean. Everytime you entered the store every staff member greeted you like they knew you. Very friendly, personable and willing to help in any way. They treated you like a small mom and pop place but the campground is very large. We floated and those staff members were very kind and patient. Very seamless the whole weekend. Only thing that was a little inconvenient was we could never get someone to pick up the phone, during the stay or prior, when calling but if left a message they would return your call. We recently spent a beautiful weather weekend there. It was nice to be close to the water and we floated the river which was great! It was a busy weekend with an event at Hidden Valley for fly fishing expo. It meant the campground was full. It also meant lots of adults and kids walking through your campsite and lots of LOUD drunks until 1am on Friday night. My husband even got up at midnight to remind them of the time. They were quiet until he came back to our camper and then started up again until 1am when I heard cars drive up and they finally got quiet. Quiet hour is supposed to be from 10-8. Does no one monitor the park??? At 5:30am the next morning people had their little barking dogs out to potty, I guess. The same drunk bunch of guys had several dogs and were up with them barking at 7am. Sleep was short that night. There was no emergency number when I called the office at midnight. We camp and have traveled to 30+ states on weekends and holidays in state, county, and private campgrounds. We’ve NEVER EVER encountered a bunch like this without a campground management or hosts to keep tabs on this kind of behavior. We would stay there again during the week but doubt we would go again on a weekend. We much prefer Bennett Springs State Park but couldn’t get reservations.

Nice camp ground, clean, full hookups, river is nice. Good access points. My biggest and probably only real complaint of those places is the positioning of the camper pads. They all face West, so if youre at you camper you lose any outdoor shade after 1:00 pm. Theres no trees or any other a shade which might be fine in the fall or early spring, But as it gets hotter and the days longer its not an great set up.I think they wanted all the sites to face the river, but you cant see the river from the camper sites anyway because of distance and tree line

We had a reservation 4 weeks in advance to float two rafts on a Saturday. We drove two hours, the people we were floating with drove three hours. When we got there at 10am, they let us know that no outfitter was floating because the river was too high. The level rose 5 foot during 2 hours the previous night. I get it, safety first,, 100%. The low rating is based on the fact that they did not notify us that all reservations were cancelled despite having our phone number and ample time to do so. I saw bachelorette parties and birthday parties be turned away. Apparently, no one was given a courtesy call.I gave two stars instead of one because although inconsiderate, they were courteous and professional. Their location was kept and there store was clean and well stocked. Their restrooms were also well maintained.

Really nice campground with nice store and mini restaurant. Easy to reserve online. Very good concrete pull through sites. Nice to have full hook ups at a very reasonable price. Mostly all positives but the bathrooms and shower house were quite a disappointment. Almost no privacy in the showers - divided only by short shower curtains. There was no place to sit, sit things or hang things to keep dry. Only 2 toilets and paper ran out twice while we were there. This place is fantastic. Everyone we encountered, from emoloyees to other guests were supers sweet. We did the upper float in a canoe and took about 2 hours. The river was a little low and we had 2 spots where we steered incorrectly and had to get out if the canoe and walk it due to gravel bars in the middle of the river. (I say this not to criticize HVO because the river isnt in their control, but to offer insight for people trying to decide which float to do.)We stayed in a cabin and it was very comfortable. Full kitchen and bath porch swing... Comes with a setting of 4 dishes, main cooking utensils, coffee pot, and pans. Also has a BBQ pit out front. My only issue is the bed. It cant decide if its soft or firm. But I was so exhausted after our adventures it didnt really matter.Stay here. Float here. You wont regret it!

I understand if you do not want to sell one or if you don’t have one to sell but why would you not be willing to tell me the outfitter down the road carries them? Is it just to try and keep business from them? You could have helped me out and I would have said how great you were but instead you were extremely rude and arrogant.
