Leaving a review as a server here in hopes of gaining some understanding from our customers. As of right now, we are lucky to have 3-4 workers on weekends, our busiest time of the week. We usually only have one host who also handles to go orders.. this restaurant gets A LOT of to gos. As you can assume, with a full restaurant and only this many workers, we often become overwhelmed. If you are planning to eat here on a busy weekend, it would mean the world if you were patient with us. We certainly try our best but we are not superhuman! Just be aware of our short handedness and we will serve you to the best of our abilities :) thank you!
Not bad. My babe and I decided to try it out for first time. Not anything spectacular. I have had waaaay better many places. Its just basic breakfast. Not anything to rave abt. I will say I may return and try something different next time. They took much cheese on my eggs it was a thick layer of cheese too much. The juice is very pricey it was $4 for cup of oj and 3 for a small Apple juice. The service was fast. So fast I wasnt sure if the food was pre-made. The server was very polite.
Good food, friendly wait staff, and fair prices. This is a fairly typical diner style restaurant with a variety of options, and their pancakes are excellent. I believe this is a family owned small business as well, so Im always happy to support local businesses whenever possible.
Lovely little diner experience. Our waitress was awesome and food was better than expected. We had a table of 6 and the waitress came back to check on us just enough times. Not too much & not too little.
Eggs benedict were very good but hash browns were warm but not hot but overall good. Clean and good service.

Wife and I visited here for the first time today for her birthday breakfast. After our regular spot closed down permanently because of covid. It was a nice family restaurant. The breakfast food was good. Though, the fountain drinks were a little watered down. Hands down the best part of the experience was our server, Cameron. Pleasant, professional and personable! (Not to mention knowledgeable about the menu). Well definitely be back.

Nice little place! The veggie skillet was delicious. The pancakes were thick and fluffy. They were short staffed but Im sure its better when fully staffed.
My favorite mom and pop diner food. American and Mexican American diner style food. Love the staff and food has always been great.
This was my first time to this restaurant and to Indiana. I was excited to see the town and try new things.. My party and I was seated the young lady took our order.. She didnt know what kind of fish the restaurant serve which is minor. She brung the food to the table my order was wrong. It took forever for her to come back to the table I told her the order was wrong she didnt apologize or anything she just grabbed the plate and came right back with another plate.. So she gave me an order that has been sitting there because it wasnt warm and how fast she came right back then she disappeared again. So we had to wait for her again to cancel part of the order then we finally left and went somewhere else.. I wouldnt go back here.

My last experience we was so disappointed ☹️. We eat there once a week. Upon our arrival the young man took us to our seats. After 15 minutes I noticed he was on the phone taking an order, while looking over at us. Meanwhile, a waitress looked at us, walked over to seat a young man, afterwards she walked behind the counter. She took the mans order. The young man who seated us was just standing around looking at us, he never came back. The restaurant was not busy, possibly 10 people during this time. So after 30 minutes of not being helped we got up and left. Both of them just looked at us and never said sorry or what can we do to make this right. I mean nothing! Remember without customers you dont have a business.
This is mine and the little ones spot! Still miss the far Westside location by Ben Davis and all of the Staff (we have been going since she was born)! She had pancakes w/strawberry topping, sausage links, scrambled eggs, and hashbrowns (took leftovers home). I had the Country Fried porkchops-gravy on the side, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and pancakes with strawberries (leftovers for home). Coffee and pink lemonade was great! Nice server as well. They could be more welcoming and friendly.
Just left the place on west 71ST,The cook is awful 😫. I ordered the T-BONE steak and eggs for $17.95.Well the steak was rubbery and plenty of fat all around the looks like 8oz steak, but at least 60 0/0 was meat.The hash browns were burnt, and I asked for American cheese to be scrambled with cheese they placed a slice of cheese on top of the eggs.Never again will I stop here and get breakfast again 😒
Great place for breakfast...Im not sure if Ive ever had something I wasnt very happy with! Croissant sandwich was excellent this time and the tater tots were prepared perfectly light and crisp!

I had showed up and I got to say looked very clean and everything was going well till I had got my food I ordered 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy and scrabble eggs I was 3/4 into my .eat and found not one but a few hairs in my eggs so I didnt cause a seen I just got up paid for the meal and left I personally wish people would wear hair nets and face mask if the cook is male

So in my experience I have been to three separate Flap-Jacks locations this one and also Brownsburg and one on the Southeast side of Indianapolis. I can say this all three are run well the food is very consistently good at all locations I have visited. This is always a great choice for breakfast for lunch or for breakfast or plain good old lunch.

The food was delicious and the customer service was the best. The gentleman taking care of us was great he had our food ready so fast and he kept on asking us if everything was ok and refilling our coffee cups. I highly recommend this place!! Yummy 😋

This morning my group of 4 adults and 7 young girls went to this Flap Jacks for breakfast. They werent very busy when we got there and they quickly put tables together to accomodate our large group. We needed 6 separate tickets for our group and our server made no issue of it. She was patient, friendly, and responsive. The service was great. Even better than that, though, was the food. I dont think Ive ever had pancakes so good! And my breakfast skillet was spot-on, also! We all really enjoyed our breakfasts and I have already recommended this place to others. Splendid start to our day!

My wife and I wanted to find a good spot for breakfast. We have been to Cracker Barrel and wasnt impressed. A lot of people told us it was like Black Bear diner in California. Boy did it not live up to that standard! So I get my hair cut and my wife gets her hair done in the same shopping center. We go into the building, first thing you notice is the huge mirror on the wall! It makes the place look huge! We got seated and the menu had a nice variety of food. The pancakes ( flap- Jacks ) were excellent!!! I got the steak and eggs. The steak was nice and juicy! The hashbrowns were nice and crispy and the eggs were scrambled to perfection! I can guarantee this will not be the last time my wife and I go to Flap- Jacks for breakfast! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal 😘

Severely understaffed, terrible food to table service, the man server seemed like he couldnt remember how to concentrate on getting things everyone needed. Food was great, but will not be back. Took us 45 minutes just to get the guy to have the other waitress get our checks. I do not recommend.
Buyer Beware. Ive been a regular customer at 71st street for years, but service has slowly deteriorated. Help too busy personalizing their own experience and entertaining each other. Youthful inexperienced, with math skills being optional. However, The cooks are awesome!
Sorry to say but I never been there. I recently moved to that area and my wife and I frequently visit the strip mall thats only a few blocks from where I live. Looking to try it soon.
I used to come here every Sunday once a month for the past 4 years and today will be my last visit. I have no idea what happened, but this place went downhill. The staff are all high schoolers and just stand around. The floor, booths, and tables are dirty. The food used to be good and I loved getting pancakes from here, but today the pancakes were dry, tasted grainy, and just crumbling apart. I ate about 20% of the 4 pancakes before it was just too much to tolerate. I asked the waitress to return them and requested a different entree. She came back with a check for both entrees. She said it was because I ate a pancake so she charges me for the entire...I just had an all around bad time. Bad customer service.
This is a local favorite. This is the first time I have ordered eggs over medium and had them cooked perfectly. I have been to dozens of breakfast restaurants all over the US, so this is saying alot about the cook at Flap Jacks. Great Job! The biscuits and gravy were quite good. The bacon cooked perfectly again. Coffee was typical. Prices were reasonable. Top notch caring staff. I wish most restaurants hired such good people. Although I cant give five stars because of the aged look, the staff and food make it a five star restaurant.

Great service! The food was delicious 😋 however the pancakes were a little too fluffy for me and my husband but he devoured them nonetheless 😂 We also enjoyed the music they were playing 🥰
During this time, when we are all still dealing with Covid-19, this is not the place to be. Me and my husband went in for breakfast today and the employees were not following any kind of guidelines to keep their patrons safe. Not all employees had masks on. One of the bussers touched used utensils with no gloves on, went and shook hands with two of his homies, never washed his hands and then served coffee to people. Our waiter took our drink and food order then disappeared for 10 minutes, came back out dried his hands and then shook hands with his homies and never bothered washing his hands. Absolutely disgusting! Never brought us our drinks either. We left quick and in a hurry. This is how Covid is being spread, not from not wearing masks. Simple hand washing protocols is what prevents the spread of disease.
Service was very slow this time. We sat for 15-minutes before someone came to see about our order or if we wanted something more than water.Usually the service is excellent, but we went later than we usually do. Didnt care for the music selection at this time either.

Wow what a nice place to grab a good breakfast
They used to have Pepsi - now they have Coke products - it matters to some. The food is general diner fair - I had breakfast for lunch and it was all very tasty. Pancake, eggs, hash browns and bacon. The bacon was nicely crisp, the pancake was done to perfection. My friend had country fried steak Manhattan - looked like a lot of white gravy to me - but he enjoyed it all. A huge amount of food for both servings. The fruit cup as a side option was decent if lacking in anything fresh - but nicely arranged.

Awesome place... Good food and friendly service. I have visited frequently and they have been consistent with hospitality. ThanksCame by today for breakfast and it was horrible. My bacon was almost raw. I call to advise them after paying almost $11 for this meal. They argued with me and told me I should have requested it to be crispy. I will never go back if they could not except reponsibility fora poorly cooked meal. Dont waist your money nor time. Never about the money, its about service! I just came from dialysis and I needed something to eat.

Very good service and friendly servers. The food is usually very good with fair prices and large portions. And the best part of all is they are very fast at lunch time when you are sometimes in a hurry. I am so glad to have this place around!
The food was great. The grits were amazing and one of the few places you can find them. The service was decent, not exemplary. The cleanliness could be stepped up...our table was sticky and they left other tables dirty for quite a while even though the servers were sitting around.

Flap Jacks is becoming a must visit restaurant when in the central indiana area. They have so many breakfast options that anyone should find a favorite. They have an amazing eggs benedict but lately I have been trying all the skillet options (all have been great!)
Definitely one the most convenient and cozy spots in the area. The food is delicious and has that classic cozy home cooked taste. The service is great, always welcoming.
The food was pretty good, and the prices are pretty good as well. However, I had missing items in my order, and the service was quite slow. Im told the ladies room was an absolute mess from one of the people I was dining with.
Thank goodness the food saved the trip! The service was not good at all. When we walked in everything just seemed to be out of place. There was one girl at the register and she was also the host. She had to stop ringing customers out just to seat us. She never smiled or told us who would be waiting on us. Looked like maybe 2 waitresses helping a very packed house. We waited for a few minutes before our waitress came over. She never introduced herself nor smiled. We gave her our whole order because we had plenty of time to figure it out. I order coffee but did not get it when she brought the drinks. She didnt serve the drinks just put them in the middle and ran. I finally got up and asked her, while she was clearing off tables, if I could get my coffee (when I got it there was no spoon with it). Which seemed to piss her off. Finally our food came but with no utensils, which happened to ever table around us. Why would the hostess not bring those???? Not a very well running ship I hope it does not sink to quick I would go back anytime I was in town just for the GREAT FOOD!

Two weekends in a row btw my first two times trying this place and they cant even get your order correct. Hell the gentleman in front of me his order was incorrect too. If you cant understand how to take an order please get out of the business cause my time is valuable. And your food was not the best last weekend. I was just giving you a second chance. Very friendly service. Nicole was our waitress. My dad had low blood sugar when we got there. She immediately brought him something to level it out and kept returning to our table to check up on him. We will definitely be returning and telling our friends

Great food, great price! I love their skillets, but oddly enough I am not a big fan of their pancakes. The strawberry crepes are well worth ordering.
We ordered the double cheeseburger with chips and mushroom soup and the tenderloin with ham, provolone cheese ave maranara sauce and chips and bowl minestrone soup.The burger meat was the only thing thats tasted ok...And, thats stretching it.The chips were starting to age.The minestrone soup was cold.The tenderloin was greasy, cold and tasteless.The so called mushroom soup was nothing more than flour water, the same flour/water type base that you use, perhaps, to make chicken gravy, with mushrooms thrown in. The predominate taste was that of flour and water. He tried to improve the taste of his mushroom soup by adding salt and pepper. It tasted like flour water with salt and pepper.The upside is that weve eaten here before and the food was a bit better.The additional downside is that I ran into my best friend and her family, bringing her family here for the first time per my recommendation.I shutter to think of what their responses will be.
