Out of 15 gyms I’ve been a member over the years, none has had a security guard who walks around “for my safety” as the owner and manager of RVC has said. Super creepy. For our safety? From ourselves?! High prices, no family discount, creepy “security guard”, not open on Sunday made us look elsewhere. After we mentioned something the guards shirt changed from “safety and security” to “club floor staff” or something, so they have to know it’s pretty creepy too.
Ive been going here for over 10 years. They offer a wide variety of classes, amazing personal trainers, and a great variety of gym equipment. The facilty is clean, spacious, and currently during COVID-19 they made very conscious decisions in keeping the gym clean, sanitized, and proper air exchanges in place.I would definitely recommend using this workout facility.
The gym has nice equipment and they have pools available but the weights area is small and there isnt alot of assisted weight equipment. I have an autoimmune disease that makes it hard for me to excersize and sometimes my body shuts down. I pay 84$ a month with the military discount (which is still ridiculously high) and i asked the staff if i could leave my car overnight and come workout in the morning and pick it up because i had left my pain meds at home and driving home would be awful for me. The girl at the front counter said the manager said no and sounded amused. When i went to pick up my car with tears in my eyes and asked if there was a good reason i couldnt leave it for one day because of my medical condition, she laughed at me. I need the pool they have there for physical therapy i do or i would have cancelled my membership, but they are definitely not people who care about the wellbeing of others. Just a gym trying to collect as much money as they can from people just trying to be healthy. If there was any other gym close by, i would switch in a heart beat.
Disappointed that hours have been reduced and prices increased. Otherwise a great club but seems they have used pandemic as an excuse to improve profits. I would rather pay more then pay for a club that I can’t use in the evenings.
I was recently told I had invasive cancer, had surgery, port in, first treatment today. While sitting, with chemo running, a very nice young lady came to visit, said she had a bag of goodies for me. HOW RIGHT SHE WAS!! This boosted me up, sorta took a load of my shoulders. Thank you all very much, plus another nice lady came in, with gift cards for gas, (I have to travel about 90 minutes one way), I Pray, Thank The Lord every day, and not just once a day, many.Thank you all again, God Bless You, You are all so very specialJudie Farnham
Great place. Have only used the Barbershop so far.Very clean and reasonably priced.
We had an appt for artificial gel nails. after an hr + drive we get there and as the ladys starting my daughters nails we realize shes only painting them with gel polish apparently they dont do artificial nails.Which the gentleman that made our appts clearly said they do So we opted to cancel and was told because we had 2 appts we would still have to pay full price Mind you it costs almost the same for polish as a complete set of artificial nails we were frustrated but after explaining to management the situation and the misunderstanding making they appts she agreed to only charge for what was done to my daughters nails. So we are thankful she made it right. They were pleasant thou so just ask questions and make sure the person your speaking to knows clearly what you want to avoid the confusion and wasted time of all involved 😊
Update: I dont think I could have gotten through the last year without RVC. When I come here, I feel like part of a community. Its one of the main reasons that I love the Upper Valley so much. This is the first time in my life that Ive gotten results from exercise, and Ive maintained a regular exercise schedule for the first time in ten years. Thank you so much for all that you do, all of you. Special shout out to JK, Tomoko, Chad, Tammy, Molly, and all of the sweet people at the front desk who make my day (and life) better every time I see you.Original: I love River Valley Club. The massage I had was wonderful. My yoga class with Tomoko is fun, relaxing, and challenging. I love my spin class with JK, who inspires me to be better every time that I go. The facilities are clean, spacious, and comfortable. I really enjoy the app and the ease of use. I feel like the club really cares about comfort, convenience, and care. I feel like Im treated like a trusted and cared for member here, unlike other gyms Ive gone to where I felt unwelcome and just another number and inconvenience to the employees.I really look forward to the day when I can use the rock climbing wall and try the cafe, which will add even more to the experience for me.With River Valley Club, exercising is more of a pleasure than it ever has been. Thank you!
I checked out the barber shop for the first time today and was impressed with Sean Taylors craft. If youre looking for a nice relaxing environment for good conversation and expertise barbering book an appointment with Sean.
I have been working exercising here for 3 months now. I have only taken one begging spinning class and it was excellent. The instructor spent time with me before and after the class to help me get set up and to check on me after the class. It was really nice. A lot of amenities.
Great club for the price. Gym staff are friendly and willing to help. Most people keep to themselves here. Offer lots of amenities that she attractive over a standard gym membership such as a pool, hot tub, gym floor, yoga room, multiple included classes, climbing wall and sauna.
The most extensive workout facility I have trained in. A little overwhelming at first. Great for someone looking for an all inclusive self-improvement facility. Salon on premises as well as retail spaces, cafe, pool, and several other amenities. Will visit again when in the area.
The hours here are great and it has just about everything one would want from a fitness club. I particularly like the fact that I can swim laps anytime that it’s open. Most of the classes are included with membership but there are some that cost extra. I don’t really care about any of the classes myself so this is a non-factor. Dry-cleaning is here which is convenient. It’s not cheap but it’s reasonable for what you get. None of the competition can match the hours or available options.
They offer so many things here it’s almost unbelievable. Not only can you work out but they have a pool, spa, salon, rock climbing wall, basically everything! They have a lot of work out Machines and they always have classes going on.
I enjoyed the club for a couple of years. All staff were friendly, professional, and always helpful. Facility and equipment are clean and well-maintained. Had a great experience with 1-on-1 personal training, as well as group CrossFit. Wish I could afford to keep my membership. I still go in to the RVC Cafe for delicious smoothies. Raw Energy is my favourite.
This is my go-to gym! As someone that powerlifts in the evenings, this gym is great because its always emptied out by then. I pretty much never need to wait to use a rack or some equipment. The only downside is that membership here is pretty expensive.
Would love it if they did a better job of enforcing that people should wipe down equipment when theyre finished. Some people are gross!
This is the best gym my husband and I have ever been members of. If you like to workout in a clean, professional, upscale environment, with down-to-earth people this is the gym for you! My only wish is they had more locations throughout NH! People who dont have access to this facility have no idea what theyre missing.
Recently renovated to increase floor layout and space. 3 pools, 1 outside and 2 inside. The 2 inside are at different temperatures to allow of lap swimming. Whirlpools in swimming area and in both male and female locker rooms, which also have steam and sauna rooms. Friendly, helpful staff.
I like the gym facility, but when I booked an appointment to get my hair done, I had to wait 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment. I felt like they had forgotten about me. The hairstylist was very sweet and I liked what she did, I just wish they had kept me updated or offered a discount for my wasted time.
RVC is a tennis/health club. My membership is for the tennis - instruction and court time. The pros are top notch and the courts well maintained. The variety of programs target the beginning tennis player on up.
Had great 6 month membership while in the area then went to college. When back for one week for break, lady at front desk would not redeem week passes I had. Sad to not be able to work out here any longer.
What a great facility, some may think its pricey until you drop your kid off at the daycare, warm up in a the cardio area, take a class, change into a swim suit and get in the pool for 20 minutes then shower and grab a great smoothie and your kid on the way back out. Cant do that at hardly any other gym. Trainers are really helpful. Ken
Rather impressive facility in general. Two very big minus though, 1) the bumper plates in the lower level is extremely old. Those plates sometimes fall apart. I have no idea why they havent replaced them yet. 2) I had an unpleasant experience with one of the staff, not professional. This ruins everything for me. They could be all nice but one persons bad attitude ruins my whole impression on RVC.
This is the nicest gym in the area, although it is ridiculously expensive if you are used to gyms in more populated areas. The only thing I want to say is that I had absolutely no problems with canceling my membership and receiving a refund for the last month, out of contract charge they made on my card. This is so often NOT the case with gyms who try to give you a hard time when canceling or try to keep payments even when they are erroneous. This prompted me to write a nice review for them. Take note companies big and small: stealing money earns you no customers in the long run.Customer service was very friendly. I would recommend this gym to people who can afford the $80+ per month that is usually charged.
If youre looking for the nicest gym in the area, this is it. It feels like a spa with a gym inside! Everyone who works here is friendly, from the trainers to the maintenance crew.
Ive been exercising most of my adult life and have been to many health clubs, I can say hands down, RVC is the finest of any Ive belonged to.
I have been taking dance classes there and the instructor is great
Runners, RVC now has two Woodway 4Front treadmills! These things are awesome and very closely replicate running outside. No more dreading indoor runs (which, with kids, for me, is more than I like).RVC is constantly adding benefits for their members. You can rest assured that ownership understands that customer experience and satisfaction is the best long-term business strategy. In addition to the Woodway treadmills (some of the priciest out there), since I joined in early 2017, a major renovation was completed (in record time with minimal gym down-time), the kids-drop facilities were significantly upgraded, the cafe was greatly expanded and the crossfit area was given a huge facelift.Member benefits, opportunities and experience at RVC far surpass anything offered in the Upper Valley and in most big-city clubs that I have visited. Take a tour, ask about promotions and join. You will never look back and a portion of your membership fees will always be going toward club improvement...not just maintaining the status quo. This is one monthly bill that you will never regret.
Best health club in NH without question.
Amazing place has a gym, pool, group classes, salon and spa
Overpriced for the facilities. Id much rather Planet Fitness.
Great local gym with ample equipment and facilities.
I do like this place. I do think the membership fees are ridiculous.
Great fitness club
All the things you need to work out
Very clean, lots of equipment, spa, pools, classes, tons to do. Friendly staff too.
I am not a member but it is the best facility in the area
Prenatal massage was amazing
A little bit cramped, but they have great smoothies!
Awesome facilities

It is a very elegant sports center. It has tennis courts, for the use of members where classes are given and there are annual passes with the right to use the courts and tennis classes, as well as the use of the changing rooms. It has a sauna, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gyms, shops, a cafeteria, and even massages and a hairdresser. Located in a beautiful place.
