Escape Room #69! This escape experience is SO incredibly unique, but it is certainly not for everyone. As others have noted, the tour of the underground 19th century shops, prohibition-era speakeasy, and bank vault are almost worth the price of admission alone! Jen has an infectious love of Leavenworth, its lore, and the buildings own history. As far as the room, we escaped thanks to our clues. I warn you that there are a lot of decorative items that can absolutely feel like red herrings or can you lead you astray, but am experienced escaper should be able to sort the wheat from the chaff. If you are familiar with Escape Rooms, understand that Decoy is single room with basic locks (no fancy mechanisms or hi-tech gadgets), but it still makes for an interesting and challenging adventure. The final warning is that this place is good about hiding items. We didnt feel there were any dirty tricks, but we needed our clues to find all the puzzle elements. It was actually quite impressive!

We’ve done a lot of escape rooms, and loving to support local, tried the “Speak Easy.” Small room, 4 people max. We enjoyed our time together in the room, made the best of it, but were happy when we were done. We were not told that the tv showing the time would randomly fast forward the time as it randomly paused, unsynchronized and had to catch up. We enjoyed some of the clues to solve a lock number, but some things were superfluous- you didn’t need an item to do something to solve for the number. The room has a LOT of red herrings. Literally you unlock to find them but they mean nothing more than ambiance to distract. Or the reused pieces from an old escape theme clues to a number but don’t pay attention to that either. Our game master was very nice but we got to listen to her other work conference through our whole time, and when we stalled and needed a clue she hadn’t been paying attention and told us what we had already figured out.

We did a Groupon deal and completed the Decoy room. Honestly, the best part was an impromptu tour the game master gave us at the beginning to show us an old speakeasy under the building. Really neat place!

We had a really fun time doing this Escape Room! My favorite part by far was the underground tour and our host was super knowledgeable about the history of Leavenworth which was fascinating. I loved how the Escape Rooms tied into the history of the town!

Thev history tour at the beginning was great. The story behind the rooms also great. The execution not so much. Props were interior relying on locked boxes within boxes within boxes and the two rooms I played I would never have beat due to location of final puzzle Ellens l elements or clues being inn locations that were not obvious, be hinted at, or required far more force to open than I was willing to exert for fear of breaking things. Staff were super friendly and the experience was fun. But I wouldnt go back.

Weve done every escape room in Kansas and almost all in Missouri and these 2 rooms were the worse I have ever done. Most of the puzzles dont make sense, and some were even broken. Terrible sign posting, way too many red herrings. The Dentist looking room we walked out of midway because it wasnt worth our time.Staff was friendly and building had character.

What a fun and educational date night! It started with a personal tour of Leavenworth’s underground tunnels, shops and underworld. I enjoyed that as much as the room itself! I’m giving it 5 stars for cleanliness, cleverness, and totally fun!!! We will be back to do all the rooms! Thanks so much!!!

My boyfriend and I do escape rooms all around the KC metro and beyond and this is one of our favorite places. We had Jen as a game master both times and she really is one of the best game masters we’ve come across. These rooms are just straight up fun and challenging!!

Super nice staff that introduces you in the old underground city of Leavenworth. The escape games all play in the time of the prohibition in the 1920s. The team put many effort in the decoration of the rooms. Unfortunately some of the items were already destroyed. And would need to be replaced. The game itself was much fun and we are excited to come back for another adventure.Highly recommended for people who want to know more about the history of Leavenworth while having fun. This place is also BYOB!!!

My husband and I recently traveled from Green Bay, WI to visit our daughter and her boyfriend in beautiful Leavenworth, WA. On a very hot afternoon they invited us to the ‘Escape Room Leavenworth ‘ for a uniquely creative adventure! We entered a very comfortable environment that would greatly challenge multiple parts of our brains and offer us an incredible diversion from the typical tourist experience. Team work, innovative problem solving and enthusiastic collaboration gave us the rare opportunity to step away from the brain dead virtual games on our tiny handheld devices and physically walk into a room filled with puzzles that challenged us as real time participants. We’re still talking about it (and of course how well each of us performed)! The Escape Room Leavenworth is a must do activity for tourists and residents alike!

Ive been to this escape room twice, both times with my grown kids. I love the theme of the place -- being centered around the speak easies of prohibition days. An added attraction is getting a tour underground of an actual speak easy that existed back in the day. There are three rooms from which to escape, soon to be a fourth, and I will continue to return until I have escaped from them all. Great fun!!

Ive participated in several escape rooms. So this wasnt my first rodeo. What makes this place stand out is the history. The tour of the old speak easy was really cool. So we had fun and learned something before we lost.

Went with family, a group of nine and we had a blast. The puzzles were fun and sometimes pretty hard but the three hints they would give you helped. I would recommend a visit here for any group, family or company considering a team building event. Everyone has to cooperate to make it out on time.

Fun experience with friends. They do a mini tour of some of Leavenworths underground city attached to the old bank prior to going in your room. Their is one escape room in the old vault in basement a little too dark/claustrophobia inducing for me, but unique. Some of the rooms are showing wear and tear, overall fun hour with solvable puzzles.

Webpage is extremely misleading. We hit the button under a cool photo that said, “Book this room.” The actual Room is at the front of the building, well lit and much like a common cubical, nothing like the pictures. Asked for a refund, but owner was rude and said no. Argued with us that no one ever complains, no one expects the picture to be the same, and they’re always fine with the glorified cubical room. Perhaps it was our fault for expecting the photo, Mel sure seemed to think so. Zero customer service or admittance of faulty marketing. We spent $180 and will never be back, I really do not support businesses that don’t consider or appreciate customers.

Great way to spend some time with hub y and friends before I headed home from Ft. Leavenworth. My first escape game, and the Speakeasy was a blast! With a fun little tour of underground Leavenworth beneath the building, then a game of escape, it we as great way to burn some daylight. I would do the harder room next if I had more time here!

Not impressed for the price at all! Small, dirty, poor management, unimpressive. The tunnels are alright if your interested in paying to see them for 5 minutes. Other than that, do not waste your time. Drive a little further into downtown KC to experience way better rooms with clues that actually work. Its no wonder no one can solve the puzzles when they are not working correctly.

The location has a lot of history that ties in well with the theme of the rooms. Some of the clues had been well used that made it possible to get hints. We had a great time, though and would recommend it.

A must try experience! My fiancé and I played a room here about a week ago, and we had a blast! This room takes storyline to a whole new level and then some. We came here to play our 67th escape room and I can without a doubt say that this was one of the most unique escape room companies we had ever encountered. The owners have a way to set the tone for their rooms that I have not and will not see again. I wont ruin the suprise, but they nailed it. It was amazing learning about the history of the city as well as playing such a well put together room. The room appeared to use real antiques as props and set their rooms up to be authentic and very family friendly. Our charming game master Jenn was an absolute delight, and really cemented our feelings that this company deserved a 5 star rating. You rock Jenn! If you have never tried an escape room, then this the perfect place to try. We cant wait to play the other rooms and we most certainly will be back!

No. Just no.Weve been to many an escape room across the country, but this one in Leavenworth is by far - the worst.Im hesitant to submit a review as I like to support small and local businesses. However. At over $20 a pop (for one hour) - this escape room is not worth your time. The room is entirely too small. We were only three people and were cramped. I cant imagine having the max of 8 people jammed into this tiny space (equivalent to a large walk-in closet). Some of the clues were old (falling apart, torn, hard to read, even though this was not part of the story-line).Many clues were broken and unreadable. And a few did not work at all (which warranted the employee to enter our locked room (while the clock was ticking away) to unjam or fix the broken clue.Employees should not have to return to your room numerous times to fix their clues. This is not part of the escape room process. One clue involves numbers written with sharpies on cheap plastic gold coins. Except - half of the numbers were smudged off and the employee had to enter our room just to help clarify what should already be easily readable to an escape guest. One should not have to ask for clue clarification due to malfunctioning and decrepit clues. (Seriously???)We were all hugely underwhelmed. The establishment itself was untidy and unorganized. We were originally led downstairs to dark tunnels and asked to retrieve flashlights - but no information explaining why we were walking downstairs. We thought this is where the escape rooms must be located.Nope.You go on a history tour of the tunnels beneath the space (which is cool to see!) but it was littered with garbage, debris, and cluttered along the way with filth. I mean - whaaaaat???? It was only when we came back upstairs....confused....and we asked - Are we going BACK downstairs? Why did we just see the neat historic tunnels? That we were told - No...that was just a tour of the tunnel.Then. The employee (who was actually very kind) apparently didnt correctly capture payment for one person in our party as the owner called my cell phone AFTER business hours to collect.Huh?Cmon now.....have the business acumen to call someone for payment per YOUR mistake - during normal business hours. Not after. An absolute total waste of time. I felt bad for my guests who also had a poor time and felt largely the same (without having discussed any of this with them). I was embarrassed I brought them with me to this facility.Save yourself the time and trouble and visit the escape rooms elsewhere (weve been to a few in KC that were really good) and let this business reorganize their story lines, clues, management, and cleanliness first, before you spend over $20 for an abysmal waste of time. We would have asked for a refund but the fact that you get to walk in little-known underground tunnels...dating back to the late 1800s - was pretty neat and justified the price of admission, so to speak. Have low expectations and youll be fine.
