Nice book store. I purchased Eyes on Target here back in 2017. Great book. I also like the Ravin book store. I purchased a few books there as well. John Douglas and his partner in crime need to stop writing books. They have become monsters.

Great environment with lots of seating for groups and individuals studying. Ample plug ins and quite music with low chatter. The art gallery upstairs is a nice place to sit and drink coffee. The barista specially made a flat white for me and it is perfect. I will be returning!

Cozy spot to grab tea/coffee and then look around at their books (or vice versa)! They even have classical music events every now and then that are worth checking out and feature some great musicians!

One of the best coffee shops in Lawrence! Great coffee and great service! Kind of pricey like the other nearby shops, but the atmosphere makes up for it! I really enjoy Signs of Life when Im in desperate need of some espresso. Their service is always quick, and its fun to browse the bookstore inside! I have come when I wanted to study and I felt like their music was just too loud to concentrate when I went, and limited seating in the coffee shop, but a perfect atmosphere for casual conversation and fellowship.

Nice enough space. It’s VERY Christian, so be aware. The music is good and at a nice level. Iced coffee is also good. I get a lot of work done here. The location is great and the large windows are very nice. The space gets very cold in the winter because the door opens and closes so often due to the foot traffic. If you come often enough you’ll start to recognize the regulars.

Really enjoy stopping at Signs to grab a good cup of coffee while walking along Mass. I also enjoy looking through their book store. Someone else noted it can get chilly up front due to the foot traffic, which is true, but it’s definitely a great place to grab tea or a latte and read a book or chat with a friend.

Great coffee and a wonderful selection of books. There are books from many genras from newly published best sellers, to the great classics and an excellent selection of childrens books as well.Im looking forward to live music on Friday! I always love the art gallery upstairs. The high point for me though is the selection of Bibles along with philosophy books.

Uhm.. their coffee is really good and the gallery on the second floor is a nice feature. I went in there without reading any reviews and wanted to try new coffee shops. Went into the library because I thought they might have a few literary texts that might appeal my interest. Come to find out that their selection purely consists of Christian and far-right books. If you’re looking for a broad range of literature I would not suggest this place.

Amazing place. Great coffee, comfortable area for studying, chatting, and browsing for books. There is an art gallery upstairs. Sometimes they even have live music. My favorite drink is the London Fog with vanilla instead of honey. The change from honey to vanilla was suggested by an employee when she was helping me look for a new drink to try and I told her I didnt like honey. Its the things like that that make this a great coffee shop. One of my all-time favorite.

A combo coffee shop, bookstore, and art gallery, this Lawrence staple feels like home. The bookstore is primarily Christian books and classics, but still a very nice selection. Great coffee drinks. Solid rotating galleries upstairs. Just a lovely place.

Signs of Life is one of my go-to study places. Signs is spacious with enough seating to always find a spot, and one can enjoy perusing the art gallery and bookstore during breaks from studying. The coffee and beverages are done well, but the major plus for me is the well-lit atmosphere and the friendly baristas.

Locally owned and operated Christian bookstore in downtown Lawrence. We are always able to find new or unique books and music as well as devotionals and other gifts here. A surprisingly large selection of books for a local shopb we love to cone here to browse. A local tip would be to park in the city-owned free parking lot directly behind Signs of Life and go in through the back door rather than parking along Massachusetts Street.

I love the unique take of the book store/coffee shop marriage of ideas. Signs of Life has a beautiful Lawrence feel to it with its historical building and decor; the book store; vegetarian and organic options; and extensive beverage list. It is even an adventure for me to go there since it has so many options for beverage and seating. I will say one thing, though.... make sure you take a guard if you go to the restroom since the light switch is outside the door. I was visiting the loo and found myself in the dark. lol

A great place to hang out and have conversations, read, and do internet work. I usually like my coffee shops a little darker, but the place is clean and people are super friendly so thats more important. Great location by Mass St too! So far the drinks and food have been good!*They dont charge for or limit their internet like some shops in town do! This makes me want to buy from them even more.*Added bonus: They have a beautiful piano that musicians can play... and I do love me some piano. :)

When you are looking for a inspirational place to have a cup of coffee or get a little work done, Signs of Life is a great destination. They use PT’s Coffee which is made right in Topeka, Kansas. They have an excellent selection of seasonal and traditional beverages such as lattes and mochas. Bottomless cups of coffee are always appreciated and this is one of the few places you can get decaf at night. I always find that funny ‘cause you want a non-caffeine option at night, not during the day, but that’s just me.The place can get busy and most seating is small tables so it’s hard if you are looking to accommodate a large study group. During peak times the Internet can be spotty. A small “cozy’ area has a few large chairs and a couch.Along with your coffee and other drinks, they have a variety of backed goods made locally or regionally and in particular povitica bread, the yummy Eastern European ethnic treat. They are one of the only places I’ve seen it at in Lawrence and it’s a treat not to be missed.Staff is friendly and helpful and they don’t make you carry around a punch card: they track it all on their computer. Nice! Oh and they are a Lawrence Giveback member as well.I’ve been upstairs to the art gallery and it’s a wonderful space and a key part of the Lawrence Art Scene. The bookstore aspect of it has a Christian focus, but they have a variety of secular books. Although it is a religious bookstore, if that’s not your thing, don’t let it get in the way. Nobody is going to preach to you there or try to convert you. Everyone is welcome here! For obvious reasons, they are closed on Sundays.
