I went in here looking for some thick thread and a needle to sew some patches on a backpack. I had no idea what I was looking for as I am not much into the craft world. The associate took me around until we found some very thick thread and she also helped me to pick out the right needle. Just when I thought we had everything, she showed me some other options if I felt those would work better. I was certain that she helped me pick out the right things and my bag looks crazy but awesome!

Obnoxious lady named Kathy cutting fabric. She was RUDE to the max. Kept telling me I cant straighten fabric to make sure I was getting all I paid for. Will never purchase fabric from that joanns again. I wil take pictures of fabric there and then go buy it in Texas. Texans understand customers pay their salary.

Much bigger than it appears from the outside! Good selection. And I found just the right skein of yarn, I was needing to finish my project!

Not the biggest Joann fabrics store I’ve been to, but it’s the closest to me and the employees are always super nice and helpful here.

Staff is super friendly and store is clean and organized properly however this JOANNS in lawrence kansas is small. The owners should build a bigger store!!!! If it were bigger i would rate it 5 and i could so do WAY MORE SHOPPING FROM JOANNS!!!!

They are abundantly helpful. Lisa the manager helped us get the most for our money and she is always friendly and cheerful. We love going to the Lawrence store to purchase our fabric.

I ordered an item online for curbside pickup but after letting them know we wre there no one came with our package. I finally went into the store and the pkg was ready but all the employees appeared to be visiting with each other rather than paying attention to the internet. Product was fine.

I have medical condition that prohibits me from being able to wear a mask without putting myself and unborn child at risk. I went into the store and was greeted by several friendly employees did some browsing in a few sections of the store and upon making my way to the fabric section( the whole reason for my 45 min drive to the store) was greeted by a very rude woman who demanded I wear a mask and when I explained to her that I had a medical condition she told me I would have to leave the store. I was told they would help me from out side, waited outside for close to 10 minutes and no one bothered to show up. I would not reccomend this location to anyone with a disability, they are clearly not welcoming to those that dont comply to their standards or worthy shoppers. I wont be back.

Great staff - really easy to deal with and I can get in and out without any hassle. The Topeka store and their employees could learn a thing or two from this location.

Get everything you need for a sewing project. I made an Adam Savage designed EDC One.

No one was working in the fabric section. I stood there for over ten minutes waiting for a sign of ANY employee. I walked all over, couldnt find a soul. There was a woman working the cash register but because of the corral line, I had no way to get to her to ask for help in fabrics. I will find a different store, I guess.

Employees are nice, but selection is not that great unless you want fleece or cotton. More often than not, notions I need are out of stock or I cant find the right fabric Im looking for.

The fabric selection was fantastic, but the prices were not matched to the fabric (miss stickered) which ended in spending 3 times more than was originally intended. Also. Customer service was poor. I had two kids with me and they kept acting like we were a nuisance and getting an annoyed look on their faces when my 9 year old who loves sewing would ask them a question about fabric she wanted.

They had fabric I needed. Only store from blue springs to Topeka that had the printed fabric I needed! Even near Oklahoma City was out! It was a blue and gray stamp pattern they apparently discontinued. So happy the Lawrence location had what I needed!!! Hope JoAnn brings back the pattern....

First I go there because they have a handicap scooter. The competition, dont. You have received 99% of my business because of this. This helps me shop pain free, and I enjoy looking around.

Lots of nice fleece fabric on sale @ 50% off until the end of October. Staff members are very helpful. Also many terrific books @ 30% off -- am eager to try new embroidery techniques in two books I purchased.

The management needs to do a much better job of having sufficient floor staff especially on a Sat (having worked retail fabric store) when it is almost always busy. The 2 clerks did the best they could but took me 45+ minutes to get my fabric measured. Ended up being in store for almost 1.5 hours & I was not shopping, mostly just waiting. Didnt even need to cut as I was taking the whole bolt. And the line was getting longer. Dont recall hearing 1 sorry

I like the smaller size of this store. Usually I can find exactly what I want. I dont get very distracted like the larger stores.I find the size and inventory to match Lawrence well. I always wanted this store here and I like the location.Nice employees. Store is clean and well stocked.

This was the nicest, and friendliest fabric store I have ever been to. They were willing to help me locate the Mario material I needed, and gave me great suggestions on the quilt Im making. This will be the only fabric store I go to anymore. They may be smaller, but to me they are the best.

Great variety of arts and crafts items with a helpful staff, but the atmosphere is something to be desired. It feels empty and lacking of life. It just feels like youre the only one at the store at times which can be unsettling. Id chalk it up to the smaller location given that Ive been to other Joann Fabrics that didnt have this problem.

I always love going to my local Joann store. They are knowledgeable and friendly.

We were able to find everything we were shopping for. This smaller store in Lawrence has saved us from having to drive to the large store in Overland Park or Topeka several times already. They have done a pretty good job of choosing what to stock.

I got some Beautiful fabric and planned to make a blanket for my sister but upon getting home I realized that the worker who cut it cut it very crooked and almost circular and not even the full yard and a half that I paid for. If it would have been a cheaper fabric I wouldn’t have cared but In this case I spent over $20 a yard so to get it home and not even be able to do the project I had in mind was very disappointing. I live over two hours from the store so driving right back Was not an option. I’m very put out about this because I couldn’t give my sister the gift I had planned. I will definitely shop Joannes again but not this location

The white haired old lady who cut my fabrics was NOT customer friendly. She attempted to help out another customer even though I had been waiting for about 5 minutes for help, stating that I could wait because I had a few more items than him (not a lot more). He was also at the other side of the store. Very rude.The other employees, however, were very kind and I was generally happy with the place.

I basically live there!!! The employees are always so helpful and nice. They always ask what Im making and offer advice when Im stumped or between decisions

If the website says your transaction didnt go through, BEWARE. Your credit card will still get pending charges for every time you tried to get the transaction to go through, and you wont be able to spend your own money later because of it. The customer service hotline is not helpful at all. Most other retailers can manage to cancel pending charges within minutes or by the end of the day when those charges are a mistake, so why cant Joanns? This was my first time shopping at Joanns and it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. I will be going back to Mood and eBay when I need to buy fabric from now on.

Always understaffed. Every time I walk in, theres someone at the register waiting for a cashier. On one visit, my wife even walked back and found someone in fabrics talking with another employee while she worked... and the employee said some very nasty words when my wife suggested that maybe her time would be better spent at the register helping the half dozen people in line vs. talking with a coworker at the back of the store. We wont be back.

They are trying to be like their other stores but cramming it into a small space. Most JoAnn stores are usually a medium large store, but this one is in a very small store front. I do hope they take over the old hobby lobby space on 23rd street. This space on 23rd street would be a better site.

I love the products at Joanns, they really are quality made, but even with the sales, the base price is way too high. I never get excited about 50% off, because it is still not enough. Unfortunately, that does not keep me from going in and spending way too much money on their cute stuff 😉

For the size of this space, theres a lot of inventory. The prices are competitive with Michaels. I do miss Hancock Fabrics, but if anything was going to replace it, Im glad it was Joanns.

This particular location is rather small. That being said, they dont carry a lot of variety. I went in looking for singles of scrapbook paper and was super disappointed by their patterned print selection. They also dont have any notebooks or dot journals, which i was also looking for.Their prices tend to he higher than other craft stores for the same thing, but you can usually print at least one 40%off coupon for one item, so if you just need a single thing or have some time and a printer this place is ok for that. Otherwise, I personally prefer to go to Michaels. This places is good for fabric obviously. They have a large selection. But other arts and crafts are seriously sparce.
