I have a student at KU that called one evening with some car trouble. I called Mass street the next morning, and the car was dropped off. Less then 30 minutes after the car was dropped off, they called that it was fixed and it was a very reasonable price. I have already recommended them to a few others.

Rick is a great reasonably priced mechanic. If you need work done to your vehicle dont go to one of the big box mechanics, go here first. To replace struts on my wifes car he was $800 cheaper!

Rick is a personable character. No BS. Tells you straight what is wrong with your vehicles and gives personal suggestions that make you consider both perspectives when repairing your vehicle. I brought my truck in after purchasing it not aware of these issues. My vehicle is currently in for an engine swap, replacing the radiator, heating core, door lock cylinders, etc. Rick has been the real deal and reasonably priced. I will update this review when this project is complete.UPDATE!!!!! after 3 weeks of being in the shop I got my truck back and so far it is running smoother than when I purchased it with the intent that “nothing was wrong”. Rick has been there answering all of my questions whether its via phone or me swinging by the shop. I consider him a friend of mine. I had a great experience taking my car here. I needed new brakes and my car was in and out in a matter of a few hours. The price was extremely fair, too. I will recommend this shop to anyone that I know that needs work done.

This place is fantastic. Hard working reliable and honest person with fair prices. I brought my truck in last week. I thought issue would take a week, he looked at it, diagnosed problem, and fixed the problem quickly. I had my truck back the same day. Rick is hands-down the best mechanic in Lawrence, and perhaps the best I have ever encountered. I have taken my car to him for mostly oil changes and tire rotations, which he does cheaper if not the same price as just about everyone else. Even if he did charge a bit more than everyone else, I would still take my car to him becuase I know he will do it right. He is very knowledgeable and knows exactly what he is doing. I came to him with what I thought was a dead starter motor (which he originally quoted for more than half of what a local dealership wanted) but tested everything he could think of in order to save me from replacing something that didnt need replaced. It ended up being a bad battery, and he saved me hundreds of dollars. He explained everything he tried and is very transparent, he will not try to sell you anything you dont need. Rick is a true man of integrity and does fantastic work, I will take my vehicle to him for as long as he is in Lawrence.Great work Rick!
