DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Very unprofessional, poor customer service and they will lose your PERSONAL information and PAYMENT information. If you do not wanna risk CREDIT FRAUD or your information being LOST. Do not go here or order for online pick up. I ordered an available item from this store online and it’s been the worst. I bought a guitar kit for my son’s birthday the day before on the 9/13. I still don’t have my order even though it’s available in the store. I can’t track my own order online, it says no order information available, my credit company has been sending me things for fraud alerts, they don’t let you speak to a real supervisor and more. Worst customer service ever and WILL NOT ATTEMPT TO SOLVE AN ISSUE. JUST GO TO THE ONE IN WALDORF. IT IS NOT WORTH THE STRESS. I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW BAD THIS LOCATION IS WITH LOSING INFORMATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.

This was a whole experience. Im sorry I didnt get the guys name that helped us, but he was the man! We said we need to figure out what to buy next just to go experience this high level of customer service.

We stopped in at 5PM on a weekday to check out electric pianos. There was loud music playing on speakers the whole time, which made it impossible to hear the sound quality of the instruments we were trying. Despite the store not being very busy, no one was available to help us and we left after 20 minutes. The product video is pretty comprehensive so we will probably buy it on Amazon.

On a real one, they live up to their name. They really do have guitars. Its great!

Sadly, the staff is not knowledgeable. It took 4 employees to even know what a tube for a guitar amp was. The first said I dont know what that is. The second said we dont carry them. After I pointed out they had a case of them, and that I just didnt see the model I needed... The 2nd employee asked a third employee, who said I dont know what that is/we dont carry tubes... Then ask a fourth employee who finally offered to look up and see if they had one. They didnt. He offered to order it, they wanted $67 for a tube that is $14 everywhere else. In addition whoevers their used gear buyer needs to learn the gear values. Over the course of many visits, I have yet to see used gear that isnt extremely overpriced, often by double the going rates. I remember when those who worked at GC new their stuff, sadly those days seem to be gone.

This place is terrible at customer service. I don’t know if it’s because the manager wasn’t there or something but please do not come here. The employees are janky instead of genuinely wanting to help the customers out.

I love The Guitar Center and I go here for most of my musical equipment.However, this time was a bust. Didnt have any Yamaha Motif or any other Yamaha workstations in stock.

More than once when I ordered a new guitar from Guitar Center (in stock the site said, on this last order) and then I get a call that my guitar is in the next day after I ordered it, I become suspicious. I had it delivered to the Laurel, MD store.I had played their demo of the same guitar two days before and it was FILTHY, with fingerprints and everything in this Covid environment, so I ordered a NEW one from the Guitar Center Website. So, the person at the Laurel Guitar Center says a new ones in stock. No there wasnt a new one in stock. He was going to give me the one off of the wall that was filthy. It was not NEW, it was a DEMO. There is a difference. You drive a car off of the lot ... its no longer new.I was a customer at three of your Guitar Centers for almost 20 years. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars on Gibson Les Pauls and SGs, real Fender Stratocasters, amps ... tons of stuff.Because Customer Service never answered the two letters on this subject, Im assuming GC doesnt care about their customer base. Thus, I will NEVER enter another Guitar Center store NOR will I ever order anything online because it will likely be used or a demo.You should really change your demo/used policy as NEW ... you all are the only ones that do it.Goodbye!

I ordered a guitar online brand new. I pick the order up from this store. The guitar was obviously a floor model. It was dusty, had scratches in the finish, and a noticeable chip in the headstock. Their solution? Bring it back and return it. So I wasted my time and gas to return a used “brand new” item. The floor salespeople and people working the counter were nice. But whoever packaged the floor model guitar up with noticeable marks and dust isn’t very bright.

This might be the only Guitar Center In the area or franchise retailer for your basic supplies however, the waiting was a little longer than normal and they will say this due to COVID but when there is one employee helping a customer to find an item the other employee should naturally gravitate to help out instead of just continuing to restock supplies. It took me 20 minutes with only 3 customers in the store at the time. Nice store and nice area but that customer comes first NOT used policy manifested this 4 star.

I love the proximity to home with this location. Only problem is low stock or in some cases they say there is stock only to go on a ghost hunt to come back to say its not in stock.

I just started taking drum lessons and came here to get a drum set. I had no idea what I was doing and Mike P was incredibly helpful. He set me up with everything I need to get started and helped me carry everything to my car. If I ever need any other equipment I will be back here just because of him!

I visited this location yesterday to purchase a keyboard for my fiancé. I’m not a music person, but I had an idea of what I was looking for. The employees currently have to monitor the store traffic, and with that I had to wait outside for a few minutes to get in. No big deal. I’d rather have a safe experience than to get sick. I arrived at about 6pm, hoping I had enough time to find what I was looking for. They communicated with me the ENTIRE time I stood outside, and I never felt that they didn’t care about me finding what I needed. I even witnessed an employee handle an irate customer who was too impatient to wait for them to sanitize the store for a safe shopping experience. He handled that situation phenomenally! When I entered the store, the gentlemen went above and beyond to help me get what I needed. They even helped me carry the keyboard to my car despite it thunder storming and the store was then closed. I always appreciate great customer service. They displayed so much patience and care throughout my entire visit. Thank you!!!

I purchased a used guitar and was told they would store it in the back. Came back to check on the purchase hold, only to find the guitar I paid in full on the shelf with new dings, scratches and a chip. Absolutely unacceptable! Management was utterly apathetic and for me, that was the last time Ill do business here.

Just want to give a compliment to Dennis, one of the best sales associates Ive encountered in the past year.Came in on Sunday while driving up to Philadelphia. The local guitar centers near me, in NOVA, were out of stock of the bass amp I wanted. When I checked first thing in the AM, the Laurel store had 1, so I thought to pick it up on the way.They sold the amp I wanted before I got there, but Dennis made sure to triple check in the back and even asked another associate to check as well. When they didnt have it, he looked up inventory in other stores for me, as well as advised on other amps that might be a good substitute. He also gave me some good advice on live vocal microphones as well for my home karaoke system.I ended up going with an alternate he suggested and Im very happy with the purchase. Great service still exists in 2020!

I took my turntables here to sell about a month ago. In the process of selling them, I decided to just use that money to order a DJ controller on the spot instead. This process took well over an hour to accomplish.A week later I go to pick up my order (which had to be shipped in from Dallas), and I open the box to find that it did not come with the power or USB cables nor the case that it was supposed to come with. I addressed this while still in the store and after the staff member left in the middle of assisting me to make beats with other customers for 20 minutes (with no one else stepping up in his absence despite me being the only customer waiting to be helped), I was told Well call the Dallas store to see where it is and contact you when its here. Days later, follow up call number one, same response. Well call Dallas. A few more days, follow up call number two. Same response. Today (about a week and a half since the second call) I call one last time before I take my order back, and not only does it take 5 minutes to find my order in the system despite me providing my name, phone number, order number, AND email, I was put on hold and then hung up on after a few minutes.This location is TERRIBLE with customer service, from management down. I dont even want what I ordered anymore, I just want my money back. I imagine that process is going to be a struggle as well.

Had a minor jack problem with a newly purchased guitar. Fixed the problem in less than 5 minutes (no charge) and helped me pick out the perfect case.

Staff here are friendly and helpful. I was there with a friend to buy a guitar. We were able to try as many as we wanted. Sometimes they are under staff difficult to find a help but when a staff present they are very helpful. Good to have a guitar center not far from my place. Plenty of parking space, easy to access.

Overall my experience at this store was great really friendly staff, helped me find what I was looking for but what’s keeping this from 5 - Star rating is the Store managers Body odor I believe his name is Adam and he’s friendly guy but it was difficult to hold a conversation with him because of his really bad coffee breath and just the smell that would build up once he stood still was bad, I don’t say this to be mean. Besides that I definitely will be using this place for getting my gear in the future.

This place is horrible. I been here 45 minutes. 15 of those minutes I was near the DJ department. No one came to help. I approached one of the associates (young lady) at the counter for help, she pointed to another associate who was already helping someone else. I approach him and he gives me the one minute finger and here I am 30 minutes later typing this review. Ive been in one spot so long customers think I work here. Why would I spend my money here?

I went in to pick up some new strings & picks and was able to play a couple different guitars and had a great conversation with Ben one of the people who worked there. He was very knowledgeable and friendly I highly recommend this location!

The manager Adam is awesome. Had an issue with a guitar being mislabeled online and in store as containing a bigsby bridge. When I got to the store which isn’t super close to my job, I found it didn’t. I was assured customer service would take care of it and not to worry. I called CS who said it’s the stores job. I sent feedback to the store and maybe 2 days later Adam called and told me he would take care of it and got me the proper guitar as this one was labeled. Told me come in whenever I could and it would be waiting to be traded out. Excellent service. Great management

A big box music store which is likely hurting smaller brick and mortar establishments. But they have a decent selection. Insist that they say up your guitar before you leave and make sure you play it! Kind of goes without saying, but not all the employees point this out. Also, you can run into the Best Buy effect where a sales person doesnt know much about the product they sell. Just make sure you find someone who does.

Then came back after another man came up and took care of him and just looked at me. So if you have any color in your skin stay away from the long black hair skinny kid hes not the nicest person.

Figured Id give this guitar center a try since I was in the area. Someone had their phone hooked up to an amp and playing rap music very loud. No way to even really check out the guitars with that much noise in the store. Not surprising though. Not a one of the acoustic guitars I looked at where in tune, stood there for 15 minutes trying to get help and got tired of waiting and left. It was like I was invisible to the employees. I know why. 55 year old white guy, wrong color in a store run by all-black kids. Guitar center as a whole their quality has gone completely down hill theyre nothing more than an oversized music and arts center anymore catering to school rentals and sales completely forgetting about the serious musicians.

This place felt like, I am in heaven. I love the equipment there, my wife and I will be back there soon.

This is an awesome store, fairly new. Salespeople are very knowledgeable and friendly. They gave my church a really nice discount on some musical equipment. I like the fact that they have numerous demo instruments right in the store.
