He was also very helpful by letting me know that small butterfly tattoos fade quickly and suggested I get it bigger with thicker lines, so I did and I know that was a very good idea. I called Big City Body Art on a whim to see if they did jewelry changes and thankfully Dave answered and confirmed that they did so I went right over and he not only changed my jewelry but went over with me proper care for my piercing. I got a brand new nose piercing a few days ago at a shop in Glen Burnie but the post was too small to the point where piercing was sinking into my nose! It was so painful but I couldn’t drive back out there to get it rectified because of my work schedule. Big City is literally 5 minutes away from my job so I messaged them to seek help. They were super prompt with the response and very helpful. They told me the piercer wouldn’t be back until Tuesday due to the holiday but then recommended me to the apprentice, Maddie. She was extremely helpful & sweet & made me feel welcomed from the phone call to when I came into the shop! She removed the piercing for me & replaced it with a better quality one per her recommendation as well as informed me about the different jewelry. I can finally start my healing process with no more issues. I’ll definitely be returning for any future piercings & tattoos. I can see why they’re highly rated in Laurel.

They only had them out for a few minutes just to pierce and clean. Otherwise my girls were put away. The information given for the aftercare was absolutely spot on. They healed amazing! First time visiting this business. Had a right and left third lobe piercing done by Maddie, their current piercing apprentice. The shop has very thorough COVID protocols and the front desk was great about enforcing them. My second lobe piercings are a bit wonky as they were done at the mall with a gun years ago. Maddie did a great job taking this into account and positioning my new third holes at an appropriate location. She took her time and made sure I was aware of the concern and that I was happy with her decision. Piercings were quick and clean, very minimal discomfort. All staff were very competent, knowledgeable and friendly and I would definitely recommend any of their services! I will certainly be returning!

I am very grateful to have found Dave and his piercing expertise. Unfortunately, the previous piercer Id gone to in Arlington had put too short a back on one of my helix piercings, resulting in an infection. Dave expertly advised me on how to fix and care for this issue, giving me excellent advice on aftercare and replacing the earring with a much better set up. Im gonna go straight to Dave for all my piercing needs from now on.

I took my daughter to get an industrial piercing, but after consulting with Dave, he suggested that we wait as her earlobes were not the best fit for an industrial piercing. He could have easily did the piercing to complete a sale, but suggesting that we wait, speaks volumes about his integrity and character. Although my daughter was disappointed, we appreciate Dave’s honesty and advice to wait. As a result, my daughter opted for a nose piercing and she loves it. A few days ago I went in for 2 helix piercings. When I arrived at the shop I was instantly greeted by the staff. They were very warm and friendly. The shop was a neat and clean place, I noticed the tablet I used to check in and the chair I sat in to get my piercing were sanitized after use. The pricing seems pretty good too. After checking in I was lead to the chair by Dave. He was also friendly and nice. I liked the design and decor of the store. It was cool and gave off positive vibes. Some people may not like it if their piercer says breathe in breathe out before they pierce, but I appreciated that. It helped me feel calm. The pain level I would say was a 3 for me, it was like a quick pinch and then then it was over. Overall I give this place a 5 because they have a friendly staff, clean environment, fair pricing and most of all Im happy with the way my piercings turned out. However one small thing Id like to say is I wish they put their jewelry online, it would be easier to see what their jewelry looks like so when you go in you know exactly what you want to buy or it could be helpful for people who cant come buy the jewelry in person but besides that this is a great store and I will definitely be coming back for more piercings in the future.

I took my 11 year old here to pierce her ears and it was FANTASTIC. Dave was so professional. There was a little gift bag, with cleaning supplies, very clear aftercare instructions (the lollipop didnt hurt either.) He even measured with calipers to make sure the holes would be placed exactly right! He talked my daughter through it, was really gentle and professional. He rehearsed the procedure, explaining each step, then pierced her ears in about ten seconds. Dont take your kids to the mall for some minimum wage teen to punch random holes in their ears.I also got my ears re-pierced/widened. I have not worn earrings for 20 years. I couldnt be happier with the results.

Came here to get my septum pierced. My piercer was Dave and he was absolutely amazing. He’s super knowledgeable and friendly and he makes you feel comfortable before he pierces anything. He answered all my questions thoroughly. The facility was also very clean and covid cautious. Watched him open everything new and sterile. You’ll have to swirl this awful anti bacterial mouth wash to kill any germs in your mouth because you’ll have to take your mask off depending on the piercing area but it’s all the more worth it knowing they are being safe. This place is the best place I’ve ever gone to get a piercing.

Got tattooed by Dio yesterday. He made the process fun and low stress. I came to him with ideas and a few images and he worked with me to come up with a design I absolutely love! He finished the tattoo in about half the time it took others to do similar sized pieces, but it certainly wasnt rushed. He was careful with details and the end result was better than I imagined! It was such a positive experience that my husband, who currently has no tattoos, was making plans for his first by the end of the appointment. Well be back!

I made an appointment with Dave and I must say it was quite an amazing visit! I originally went in for an industrial piercing however, Dave informed that my ear structure was not quite the right fit, and explained possible issues I may have with the piercing which I respected quite a bit. He set me up with a flat piercing which I actually love even more! I felt extremely comfortable and welcomed and Dave even let me see the veins in my ears before my piercing which was quite cool! I got my septum pierced by Dave. He did a great job and was competent and relaxed. I have needle anxiety and asked to not be shown the needle or talk about those details and had no problems with it. Hes nice and interesting person who is good at putting you at ease, and even went out of his way to give me a broucher of a brand of hand sanitizer he thinks I might not react to. I upgraded my jewelry to titanium because I have sensitive skin, and got to have it colored teal. Im really happy with my piercing and the choice to come have it done here.

I came over to get my nose pierced after reading prior good reviews. So much so I recommended a friend to get her piercing done as well. Overall, I think Dave did a good job With my piercing And he does have a professional attitude, However I just noticed a few things that I think could be improved upon . I think payment for services should be carried out after the job is done rather than at the very beginning and that’s just my opinion. It’s a little weird tipping before the job is done . I did notice as well that he did attend to someone else while I was on the chair waiting to be pierced, maybe that can be minimized on . Dave is amazing!!! Such a great person and made the piercing experience amazing. Hes funny and truly down to earth and authentic. One thing is he wont BS you! I recommend him to anyone that is interested.What I like the most is he takes his time and youre not just another person taking up chair space.

I have a good amount of tattoos. And b4 I came here, my first 6/7 tattoos I got was from a different artist and different shops. I went in to big city body art and met DIO and instantly knew he was different. DIO has an awesome attitude and is very friendly and professional. I now not only enjoy getting tattooed by him I enjoy hanging out with him and consider him a friend. If anyone is looking for a shop and artist u can trust, this place and DIO is for you!!

My daughter wanted her ears pierced, but at the same time she was very nervous. Dave was fantastic. He spent time explaining everything to her, showing her the equipment, telling her what he was about to do, and joking with her. He did an excellent job keeping her calm. Her pierced ear lobes are adorable. Because he was the only person in the shop that was able to sell jewelry and do piercings there were some distractions that took him away from my daughter as he dealt with other customers, but other than that it was a great experience.

I highly recommend Dio for great quality tattoo work especially if you like color and thinking outside the box! Ive gotten at least 6 tattoos (some were either major and new or just brought back to life coverups revamped) from him and Ive yet to be disappointed! Just know he hates lions. Lol Oh, and the guy piercing Dave... hes great also! Hes a bit of a strange bird but thats why hes great too! Go here, you wont be disappointed!!!

Dave pierced my daughters ear lobes and helix. He did an awesome job! He took his time, made her feel comfortable, explained everything in detail, and clearly showed her how to take care of her new piercings. The shop was clean, and the entire process was very efficient and professional. I would highly recommend Big City Body Art to anyone getting a piercing!

Dave did my septum piercing. He was very knowledgeable, walking me through his steps and opening sterilized tools right in front of me. It was quick and mostly painless procedure. He has a collection of all types of body jewelry and even custom makes some. Their piercing prices seem on par with other shops I’ve been to in the Wheaton area. This is definitely one of the cleanest tattoo shops I have ever been in. I watched the woman at the front desk sanitize the tablet I used to check in and saw Dave sanitize his piercing chair as soon as I got up. I appreciate the way this shop is run so much so that I made an appointment for lash extensions next weeks.
