I’ve been to this shop a few times now for multiple vehicles and I’ve always had an excellent experience. Mr. Jimmy is a constant professional and will work with you if your schedule does not permit visiting during office hours. I left Laurel years ago but still bring my car here because the trusted service. The pricing is also very reasonable.

We trust our cars to Jimmy and his mechanics. He gives an honest assessment of what is going on with your car- and you pay a fair price for repairs. Good covid safety. Great communication.

Wow. The service at this place is A1. Jimmy was honest with me. As a woman we don’t always know what’s happening with our cars. After he fixed my vehicle he explained what he fixed and even showed me the old parts. I will always come back here!

Its hard to find an honest mechanic these days but Gunpowder Garage is honest in every way. He does not try to rip you off and treats you with the utmost respect. This garage is the real deal, courteous staff, honest, and reasonably priced. Jimmy is your guy, I trust him with all my cars. He recently fixed the AC on my 2015 GMC Yukon Denali XL the right way the first time, which the dealer could not fix.

I was having problems with a 12 year old car and after a nightmare experience at another garage (that Ill not even mention) I took it in to Gunpowder. They had the car fixed up in no time and at a fraction of what I was expecting it to cost. They were very thorough in explaining the problem and I knew what was happening at all times. When you find a trustworthy mechanic - stick with them forever. Gunpowder will certainly get all my business!

I have taken every car Ive ever had to this place. Ive always been treated fairly and honestly. Even when I had a junked-up mustang that couldve been taken advantage of, the employees were kind and honest and only did work I asked them for, and then advised on work that would need to be done in the future.I currently dont live very close to this place anymore, but still make the drive over because finding a mechanic who you trust and who wont try to oversell you on things you dont need is hard.

A couple of month ago, the flex pipe of my Honda Accord 2001 needed a repair. I called Gunpowder Garage about the price of replacing the whole front pipe. They told me to bring in my car and they needed to take a look at the car before giving me a price. Then I went their garage the next morning. They took a look at the car and told me I had to replace the whole exhaust system, which costs around $1,400. They told me there was no way to repair any part of it since it was quite rusted.They also charged me $50 inspection fee. They said if I repair my care there they would make the $50 into the final repair price.I felt that they should not charge me $50, since just I went there to get a quote about replacing the front pipe. But I still paid. I thought they provided me some new information I did not know: there is no way to replace the front pipe and I need to replace the whole exhaust system.However, today I replaced my front pipe successfully. So, I realized that they are either greedy or just lack of proper knowledge.Lessons from my experience:1. Before you go there, make sure if you need to pay this kind of inspection fee. I know many other places have free quotes.2. Do not always believe their words about your car.

I have lived in the area for about a year and have been searching for a reliable and honest mechanic. Needless to say, I was not impressed with what this area had to provide. I was driving home and happen to see the sign for the garage and decided to give them a call...and I havent looked back since!! The guys here are great! When I dropped off my car, they took their time to tell me what was making my car idle low and stall. Other shops just wasted my money by suggesting replacement of parts that werent needed. Great service and price

Dishonest mechanic! Long story short they tried to get me to fix things that did not need fixing. I am a bit car savvy and some of the basic items like brakes and tires they said will past inspection but I should still replace.!/? huh? Either I need them to pass inspection or not. Never will go there again and will not recommend. 2 thumbs down!
