Rick from Classic Door is a grouch and a pain to work with. Every interaction with him is met with attitude, short comments and straight out grumpiness. (Everyone else in the office and the back shop is nice, but he always seems to be the irritated one.) I work for a General Contractor and am familiar with his usual behavior. He lacks tact and comfortably expresses how behind he is/they are when it comes to emails and orders.If you call to speak with him and he’s not available right away, be prepared to not hear from him until 3-4 days later. I understand Classic Door runs things old school where they write out all invoices and they are very behind on communication, but it’s unfortunate that a company with such a long history (est. 1981) would be so backwards in function.My experience with Rick, and also my colleagues’ exchange with him, have made it non-enjoyable to even contact him or Classic Door. When I speak to other door reps in town, I’m not asked nearly as many questions as he does and they are able to complete my request with less info. That makes me wonder if he’s just asking tedious questions to be a nuisance. In addition, the other door reps help me figure out what I’m trying to find. They don’t talk down to me with a demeaning tone and they don’t make me feel silly for not knowing answers.At this point, Classic Door is at the end of my suppliers list and I will only go to them as a last resort. I’d much rather deal with other suppliers who have longer lead times, than to go through such uncomfortable & unnecessary B.S.

I had to laugh at the Grouch Rick reviews. He used to scare me too. He asks a lot of questions and he knows what to ask so you get the bugs worked out up front. Like me somedays he is grouchier than other days, but he works very hard to be helpful and he is knowledgeable. If I wanted to marry the guy I would worry about his grouch, since I just want to get my order right I welcome him. Travis and the other guys are equally professional. Clay runs a tight production line. With the volume they do I dont know how they pull it off.Classic is old school and is geared more for contractors, personally I like that much better than dealing with big box stores. I buy a lot from them they take a burden off me. Very well priced, always helpful and will back up any mistake. Overall very friendly but super busy.

I couldn’t agree more with the reviewer who mentioned Rick. He is a complete grump and loves to pass off blame to the customer. My order was delayed repeatedly because of lack of materials and when I selected an alternate material I presumed my order would be completed. So when I called back and was told by Rick that they had not started on my order because they had only received 9 out of 10 doors (I was initially not made aware of this) I wasn’t exactly happy. He insists that we only dropped off 9 doors and couldn’t possibly consider that the last door may have been misplaced by the shop. I’m really sick of dealing with the passive aggressive and condescending comments. When I call in for help I expect to work together to form a solution to get my order completed, Rick seems to prefer a different approach. Classic Door and Trim is alright as a company, I’m sure I would have a better impression overall if my salesman wasn’t such a pain to deal with.

Travis at classic is great to work with, very detailed oriented, knowledgeable and professional. Easy to work with and pricing is reasonable for a quality product. A lot more selection than youll find at any chain hardware store for about 30% less the cost. Would definitely recommend to anybody looking to buy doors.

This is the best place for baseboards! Prices are excellent!!

The people that work here are very nice but the quality was lacking. I bought 3 interior doors, baseboard and casing. I gave them 2 doors as a template and they put the bottom hinges in the wrong place. There were also chips and cracks... but I cant say for sure if that was them or my pick up guy.

I love this place. Be sure that you know what you are ordering. Staff is helpful and friendly. Pricing is reasonable. Many different trim decor options that wont break the bank. I will be coming back whenever I am renovating a room.

I was referred by a carpenter from work to go here they carry a variety of different types of Molding, Casing, and Crown at a reasonable price per sq. Foot vs going to a local Lowes or Home Depot found a huge price difference for the exact same thing.

I have used both this company and their competitors for years and I have recently stopped using the competitor. This company is just easy to deal with, no stupid long wait to get helped, and they will match the price of the competition in town if higher. I priced both places in the past because sometimes one was cheaper and other times the other was. I stopped wasting my time, Use Classic Door and Trim if you want fast professional service and a fair price. My time is valuable and the competition (avanti) will waste your time every time.

My son dropped off a special sized closet door that they said could me matched, special made and be done within a week. Its been over a month since we dropped it off. My son tried calling, left a message and no one has responded so he has no door and no idea when he will...

I need to invest in a punching bag for the people in my home as the abuse always seems to be taken out on my doors. Because of this I have repeatedly brought my damged doors to classic door and have had perfect replicas made every time. Their prices are fantastic and i always get my door back within 1 to 2 days. Great customer service and Rob is great at taking care of everything i need. Would highly reccommend for any door needs.

Four of the doors I ordered arrived damaged. Rather than share this information, they delivered the partial order and had the driver inform me of the shortage, but he didnt know when the replacements would arrive. I called Travis, the salesperson, who promised them the next day. A phone call would have been appreciated, as I had a painter scheduled based upon the delivery. He tried to say he had just found out, but then said he found out in the morning. The delivery to me was after 2 pm. He promised if there were any other delays, he would let me know.The next day, no delivery, no call to let me know. The next day, I called. Travis was unavailable, and I was advised it would be next week until they could deliver. I asked for management to call me. No call.There are a lot of other door shops out there that will value your business...find one of them and avoid the frustration and potential added costs as this one doesnt seem to care.
