One of the best ice cream’s I have had in my life. The fish was delicious too and the concept inside is quite cool and modern. The employees are really nice and there are a decent amount of different flavor to try. We has 5 different types of flavors and each and one of them we’re as good as the other..
Soooo addicting!!! I loved this place so much we made 3 visits during our last trip to Vegas! What else is one to do during scorching triple digit Vegas weather than to indulge in some delicious soft serve + taiyaki?? The soft serve is so creamy and the taiyaki are freshly made with different filling flavors to choose from! Highly recommend! :)
Friendly smiles to go along with the soft serve ice cream treats. We love that you can watch them make the taiyaki with the fillings-Oreo, custard, taro...No outdoor dining and the inside isn’t open yet for seating but it’s a nice shopping center to take a walk in while you’re eating.I can’t wait to back and enjoy another flavor with my friends!!
The ice cream was smooth and rich. The takyaki was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. We got more after we took couple bites of it. Too hard to resist. Con was that the line was kind of long at times (had to wait outside). Also, there was only one female and male wash shared between the store and the store next door
Fin-tastic I must say! Its sweet! Creamy! Delicious! Other adjectives that are synonymous with an amazing desert experience! The staff is always so friendly and fun! We werent even in the Plaza to go here but I remembered how nice it was last time and was treated with a yummy dish of a yummy fish pastry! Highly recommended this place to anyone wanting to try!!
Absolutely wonderful! Stopped in after an evening on the town and what a lucky choice it was! The place was terribly busy, with a line out the door- albeit moving quite quickly thankfully. The staff were lovely, and very efficient, and the flavours were unique and tasty, not too sweet, yet still flavourful and tasty. And not to mention terribly cute food, and with very modern, trendy decor to boot! The shoppe itself was relatively spacious for such a small storefront, and laid out in a way which was very disability accessible. They didn’t have very much seating however, but I believe this was due to COVID. There were raised tables which could be difficult to sit at for some disabled people even when there are chairs, but there was seating in a sort of risers-like set up which is quite accessible. At the time with COVID customers mostly eat outside anyways. All in all it was a lovely experience of a unique wee shop, and I could hardly recommend it more for those looking for a good, quick treat while in Las Vegas!
This is a very interesting tayaki spot that serves fish shaped waffles filled with different ingredients, Nutella being the best in my personal opinion followed by the custard alongside more traditional offerings like red bean. They also serve soft serve ice cream and other drinks. This is a good spot to go after sushi if you are still inclined for something sweet to top off the day.
Glad we stumbled upon this place bc it’s SO GOOD HERE!!!-Best taiyaki cones I’ve ever had! Super fresh, crispy on the outside, so fresh and soft center. I had mine filled with custard and it was amazing!!!!!!-I got the Matcha and milk tea swirl and it was so tasty and delicious. The Matcha was perfect because it wasn’t too strong tasting and chalky like other places I’ve had it at. The milk tea soft serve was so good!
My family and I stopped in here today on a whim. I cannot stop thinking about my Nutella Taiyaki. It was absolutely delicious! The waffle was wonderfully gooey inside and the outside nice and crispy. Its a bit of a drive from my house, but I definitely will be back one day!
Ah-mazing ah-boong (Korean treat of taiyaki filled with soft serve ice cream)! Their taiyaki (fish-shaped cake) had the best taste and texture I ever had like funnel cake but way better. Here, it arrives hot and filled with the perfect amount of Nutella (do it!!!), custard, taro, or sweet red beans. Then this taiyaki tops soft serve ice cream in rotating flavors and swirls of black sesame, ube, matcha, horchata, milk tea, coffee, banana, oreo, chocolate, and strawberry. You can also get toppings of sprinkles and more plus a strawberry or macaron- all included. They also offer filled taiyaki by itself in boxes of 2 or 4. During covid times, they only accept credit cards and enforce social distancing. Also, while you can wait and take pictures inside, no dine-in. Despite my visits during peak busy times, I was able to order within a couple minutes and received my entire order within 5 minutes. Ef-fin fin-tastic!!!NOTES/TIPS:**Plenty of parking in their private lot shared with the rest of Shanghai Plaza.**During the covid pandemic, I opened the back of my crossover in the parking lot so that my family and I could sit and enjoy our treats right away.**They offer free lemon-infused water. Just ask for cups.
Amazing experience, the fish cone is super soft but crispy at the same time. Definitely recommend!
Soooo bomb. We got the custard, ube, Nutella and Oreo filling. Custard was the best and Oreo came in 2nd. The others were too sweet but overall delicious. Next time well have to try it with their soft serve! Also, great customer service!Update: I went back the next day & got it with the coffee soft serve ice cream- oh my gosh, I am so glad I did, it was sooooo goood!
Some of the best soft serve I have ever eaten topped with the best soft waffle! Seriously the waffle is amazing- you should get extras. As a bonus the little macaroon was just right, crispy and chewy. This place was super fast and friendly even though there was a nonstop line out the door. They had a great system to keep things moving smoothly and they were very clean.
⭐️ Cleanliness⭐️ Service⭐️ Reasonably Priced⭐️ Quality of Food⭐️ Ambiance and ExperienceDue to COVID, dine in is not an option.Staff was friendly and service was pretty quick. It’s a great place to enjoy a sweet treat and take pictures with your friends or of the yummy items they serve. For the Takiyaki, they offer 6 filling options. You have the option to order in 3pcs or 5pcs. Nutella never disappoints. For the soft serve, they have 12 favor options. You can have in a cup or gold fish shaped cone. You can have it plain or you can add toppings. Never turn down a macaron👍🏼👍🏼
I first tried them in November of last year for my birthday, I absolutely loved it. The employees were very hospitable and the dessert was amazing! I’ve visited at least once every month since.
I always find myself craving the soft serve here too! I love this place and would recommend this to anyone who has a sweet tooth and looking ti expand their tastebuds. The upside down Ah Boong (soft serve with a fish on top) is the most popular. Their mixed flavors of the day are delicious! My favorite flavors so far would be Taro, Matcha, and Milk Tea.
The soft serve is creamy and delicious (milk tea 🙃🤤), they come with dusting of whatever toppings you want (graham crackers, Oreo, fruity pebbles etc.), and you have to get the waffle fish with your cup. It’s a freshly made, crisp outside soft inside waffle fish that they line with either Nutella, custard, taro or red bean. It’s very very good, And it’s reasonably priced.
Loved it!! The ice cream was delicious and so were the little fish waffles! I filled mine with Nutella and my sister filled hers with red bean. You can also order a fish with no ice cream with a closed mouth so my sister got cheese in hers. (It was sooo good!!!)
Loved the dessert! Ice cream with the fish bread was tasty and good for a summer day! Would recommend the red bean filling.
Really cool idea of the fish cake ice cream and decent selection to choose from! My only complaint is there isn’t more options of filling, but the fishes taste great without filling as well! Lots of soft serve for the price. Cute interior design, and very friendly staff. Always a long line here for a reason!
Tasty ice creams and yummy waffle fish. You can also just order the fish shaped waffles filled with nutella, taro, red bean, or cheese
Love the ice cream and fish dessert they make, but I wish they had a sugar-free version or low carbs version. Im not in any way obsessed with my figure I just have a chronic medical condition. So, I know these types of changes also bring other people to the business.
Love this place!!! The fish ice cream is just delicious. Place is clean and staff super friendly, for a small shop its always busy. Highly recommend to visit and get the fish ice cream with macaroons
Went here on 9/28/20 with my husband as weve eaten at basically every restaurant in this plaza except this one.We decided to share the ahboong (soft serve in a cup with a fish on top) for $5.50. This portion is more than generous for two people, so I think its a fantastic deal.We ordered the milk & matcha soft serve, with a custard-filled taiyaki fish. Theyre freshly made right before your eyes in the taiyaki pans. We were then offered some toppings and we went with Oreo crumbs and a macaron slice.I really appreciated the staff being on top of enforcing social distancing while in line. They had no problem directing people to make sure everyone was properly distanced. So many businesses give lip service yet dont care about the guidelines, yet this place does. Much appreciated.
Kept seeing Somi Somi on Instagram and wanted to try it out for myself and kiddo. No line to go in, very clean store. Various flavors of ice cream. I got Ube and it was just ok, not a strong Ube flavor. My kiddo got Horchata and it was delicious😋. Will definitely come back ti try their other flavors!
Delicious ice cream combinations. Love going there.
Went with a group of six. All the flavors were good, extra toppings available. Melted a little fast and the cone wasnt the best shape. Will order with cup next time. It was pretty busy about 30mins before closing.
Very cool place! The fish waffles are beautiful and made very carefully. The staff was friendly and answered all our ??
My first experience trying this type of dessert was not great, and I was hesitant to try it again until I read the reviews of how SomiSomi was different in their selection and taste. After trying their milk soft serve and custard taiyaki, I’m a fan. The store itself is super clean and spaced out enough for distancing during these times. Will be back to try other flavors :)
Great concept tucked away in a sort of mini Asian strip mall two miles or so from the Strip
Good soft serve ice cream with choice of topping. Get the taiyaka. Really good bonus.
New must try dessert place in the Shanghai Plaza! This place is just picture perfect - both food and the area. This place sells soft serves and taiyaki (fish shaped cones). The soft serve selections and taiyaki fillings are a lot! We tried the flavors matcha, ube/oreo swirl, and milk/milk tea swirl. The swirls they switch out a weekly basis so keep an eye on it. The ube/oreo was definitely my favorite one. You also get to pick the fillings in the taiyaki and we did nutella, custard, and beans. All were so good that we had to takeout just the taiyaki themselves. The place looks new and trendy. If it weren’t for the social distancing, I bet this place would be packed. They have hangout benches for eating in customers and a nice background wall. Definitely a nice place which I’m gonna go back and try more flavors!
Service was outstanding, the workers were very kind, and the place has delicious ice cream and a nice vibe overall! Good for aesthetic pictures if youre into that, and if not the atmosphere is fun to eat in
You know your in love when you cant take away your gaze from someone, sometimes you would dream about her and youre would be future together just like that music from Savage Garden I Knew I Loved You ( i loved the music video because of Kristen Dunst) Well this is that just by looking at it I know im gonna love it especially their Ube and Matcha combination the crunchiness of the fish waffle oozing with custard and eating it along with the ice cream has the feeling of synchronization like its meant to be. I knew i loved you.
So fun to order & create but, most delicious to eat! 😋
Excellent dessert! The soft serve is dairy free, except the milk one, and its nice and rich and creamy. This place is also affordable and is a satisfying way to end a night. My favorite fillings for the ahboong/taiyaki are nuttela and custard regardless of which soft serve you get. Eating the regular cone is best with a spoon. The upside down is the most convenient and best option if you ask me. If you dont know what to get just go with the swirls of the week. Try it out!
I first saw these things walking around Chinatown in NYC and thought to myself OK....fish shaped cones....whats the big deal? Little did I know the surprise I was in for when we found this new spot in the new strip mall theyve been working on for like...forever.So the specialty of these cones is theyre lined with your choice of filling (nutella, custard, taro or red bean) and then topped with ice cream with or without a topping which may include sprinkles, fruity pebbles, cocoa pebbles etc..The menu may be daunting to a newbie but its actually pretty simple, just be patient and ask the staff questions regarding your prospective food item.Once you get served up your ice cream you can sit in their bleacher style seating and enjoy! The seating is perfect for groups chillin together so definitely a go to spot after a nice dinner or if you want to enjoy a delicious dessert with a friend or loved one.
Great ice cream, crispy waffle fish.
The waffles and ice cream are so good ! The service was very nice. Just wish there were more seats
I really like this place, but management needs more employees to clean.
One of my favorite dessert spots in all of town! They make tayaki fish along with multiple different flavors of soft served ice cream to choose from! On top of that the taiyaki fish also has fillings you can choose from! The flavor of the ice cream changes each week so youll always get something new! I go for the eye candy, I leave with the ice cream! :)
Big fan of this chain. This location recently opened up and is really consistent with flavors and service like the other locations. My cousin and I ordered the matcha, ube soft serve with the taro and red bean with cream cheese taiyaki. They make everything fresh here so expect a minimum wait of 15 minutes for taiyaki. They packed so much filling in the taiyaki. The way they make them too its piping hot inside with the extra crispy shell makes the combination of both delicious. The match soft serve was so creamy and the addition of the fruity pebbles added a nice crunch. They have plenty of seats inside and a high long table for standing as well. Attached is a Korean dessert bar. Id recommend grabbing your desserts and go upstairs to enjoy the views. If you want great soft serve and love Asian traditional flavors this is your spot
Different type of dessert, but different in a good way! Very good, well worth waiting in line for.
I love this place. I always think its great. I recently went to a California location and it was horrible. I am so grateful for my hometown SomiSomi location. 15/10 recommend.
Cookies n cream with the fish cone is my jam, yes I would like crushed Oreos on top, thank you for asking
