Editing my earlier review: Initially gave the store a one star rating. My review had stated that my rental books, which I had returned, were not checked in and still showing on my account. When I called the store I was told to call back another day in order to speak to a manager. I spoke to the Office of the VP of Finance at NMHU regarding my issue, which oversees the bookstore, and then subsequently with the bookstore Manager. My issue was resolved.
My review is for the NMHU Bookstore. After semester after semester with books going missing, showing up late ( weeks after classes started) and no one actually knowing what was going on, I started just ordering my books on Amazon whenever possible. No student should have to spend hours on the phone trying to find a book that the bookstore personnel should be tracking.I have had professors get cranky with me about books being late, only to find out that the entire class could not get their books by the first week of classes when readings were due. If you attend this school, save yourself the hassle and follow my lead.
Amazing place to be
Loved my semester there! Requirements to get into the Facundo Valdez School of Social Work not nearly as difficult as NMSU. I get it....bigger university etcetc, but they tried to make me go back and take some dumb math class TO GET INTO stats (which I worked with in Research Methods I @ NMHU) and BIO 101, ....So! I picked up my minor as my major. Nope. Literally nothing is worth wasting a remedial semester esp. on math and science. No thanks
They are fine for getting NMHU stuff, but very unreliable for textbooks, I have had books show up weeks after class starts, after I had bought it agin somewhere else.
A place like no other. Please find time to visit.
Friendly staff and great merchandise.
