We had a pretty poor experience with this contractor tbh. Here is some of what you can expect...- Friendly Technicians (the one positive)- It took 3 weeks for the initial inspection report to get from Five Star to our warranty folks. When I called Five Star, all we got was we sent it, theres nothing else we can do. It required us setting up a three way call with the warranty people to get them to resubmit it after multiple calls back and forth.- Multiple delivery attempts for the new AC unit failed before someone was home- Charged 2100 dollars for a roof modification which turned out to be a couple metal pieces welded together and bolted on. The home warranty folks said this seemed high but was out of their hands. At this point, we were pretty much stuck and had to pay.- No itemized receipt despite calling and asking for it 3 times (Ive given up on this)- When we asked when we could set up an appointment for the installation, the person on the phone said if I tell you tomorrow, youll call me at 8am tomorrow, so Im not going to give you an estimate. Pretty rude. Also, we were 2.5 months into the summer without AC at this point.- Install team showed up with a crane the next morning without any sort of notification or appointment. Fortunately we were home. But still.- Screws, zip ties, and trash were left all over the roof and lawn. Fortunately we didnt step on anything.

5 Star Refrigeration went above and beyond to help my mother out when her ac went out I contacted 5 Star refrigeration company spoke with them they immediately scheduled my no in and John the tech came very respectful and professional came in analyzed and assessed the situation explained to us what was causing the ac to not cool. We told him do what you have to fix it he did just that very very proud and happy with 5 Star refrigeration company very satisfied with there professionalism Thank you Aldo and Liz. Strongly recommend for any heating and cooling services

I called this morning to First American Warranty and they let me know Five Star Refrigeration would contact me, Benjamin called me this afternoon and came over to analyze the unit, saw that motor was bad in furnace unit and went and got blower motor and fixed it, our refrigerated air is working. Thank you Five Star for the quick response to our needs

Talk about unprofessional!!!! I dont know what happened to decent customer service, I have never been treated so poorly! I called to schedule for an in home estimate. A few days later I received a call from some Aldo; the guy was rude, pushy, and unprofessional! I dont know why he thought to continuously ask me how serious I was about making a purchase (I am serious enough to have the needed cash readily available and pretty much on hand!) because he did not want to come out to my home unless I was serious about making a purchase and scheduling an installation soon after if HE decided to meet me! He went on to only be willing to meet on certain days and times of his with absolutely no compromise. Wow really, that was the biggest deal breaker. Truly sad considering the reviews and recommendations, I will never call them again nor will I ever recommend them to anyone!

We called on Sunday afternoon about our walk-in cooler (turns out one of the motors had died) and Sal, from Five Star Refrigeration, was there first thing Monday morning! He did a very thorough job of identifying and fixing the issue as well as cleaning out the vents. He also answered all of my questions and was very nice to work with.Thank you for your thorough and prompt service! Would definitely use again.

This heatwave was too much for my old ac. I called several companies for quotes. Aldo came out and looked at the entire unit and explained what would be done and what the cost was. He made sure I understood what would need to happen and how it all works and if I had questions. This was on a Friday and by the following Monday I had a new ac being installed. Johnn and Brittney were the tech and helper that came out. (They had masks and other ppe to use should I have found it necessary and wanted them to use it.) They worked all day and got it installed and cool. They tested and found a leak in the old line so it was fixed and sealed. Johnn explained my new system and thermostat and the warranty. The work area was left cleaner than they found it. They removed all the trash and old unit. I would definitely use this company again and would also highly recommend them ro family and friends. My overall experience was awesome from quote to install to enjoying my new system. Thank you Aldo, John, and Brittney!

The company was super fast on short notice to come and help me. Because of Covid I could not let anyone in the house and the technician was incredibly patient and helpful to get everything completed outside while with me on the phone the entire time. He wore all of the PPE equipment and even washed down anything he touched outside before he left. I am very grateful for their flexibility and professionalism to help me. Highly recommend!

I called about my A/C not working. Not long after I received a courtesy call that the technician was on his way. He identified the problem quickly, was very polite, wore a mask while inside the house, and made sure to fix what was causing the issue in the first place. I was very satisfied with the service. I will recommend them to my friends and family.

We are a business and we installed a mini split system at our shop. But we wanted to have an reliable HVAC company connect the refrigeration lines and vacuum and load test it to make sure there’s no leaks etc. From all the research I did, looking at video installs etc., that should’ve taken about an hour and a half more or less. I had set up with another company to do the job for $200 Plus tax. But that seemed a lot for that much time as I’m paying for labor. So I called five star refrigeration and talked to Aldo and told him what I needed and how much they charged an hour. He told me it was $80 an hour. And he said it should take 1 to 2 hours to do the job. So I agreed to that and set up for them to come out about lunchtime. They ended up sending out someone very quickly which is great, and JORGE drove on the property at 9:10 AM. He was very friendly and thorough and got the job done nicely. When he was through at about 10:50AM, he wrote up the invoice and called it in and then he gave me the bill for $319 and change. I explained to him what Aldo said it would cost @ $80 an hour and that he said it would take one to two hours and it is what I was expecting to pay.. I heard him say to the woman he called in the office that he worked 2 1/2 hours for labor and when I looked at the bill, he was charging me $95 for nitrogen and to use the little compressor etc. Plus he said they start charging me labor when they leave the shop. if that’s true, that’s not right. Labor should be charged when you’re on the premises. And I asked him where his shop was but he didn’t tell me. And so I said, “is it 45 minutes away”? and he said yes. The shop is about Five minutes away from our Shop. So I had him call the office and they changed the amount to $225 plus tax. That’s still more than the other company would’ve charged me. I was expecting according to Aldo to pay $120-$160 plus tax. I went ahead and paid the amount but it left a bad taste in my mouth as you can imagine. When you are told one thing and it ends up being almost twice what they tell you and then when they’re not honest with how much time they spent on the worksite and then they’re charging you for things they didn’t tell you before hand, that’s not good and that’s not honest business. Whether that be from the employee or Business standpoint. Jorge did a very good job and the company got him out there very quickly which was impressive and I was happy about that. Just not the overcharging of the labor/time that he was actually working on premises along with excessive hidden charges.

We used this Company because our Home Warranty used them, and after the experience we had with Sobella’s out of El Paso, I’m glad we did! After buying a new home we found the A/C had a leak in the system! They discovered the problem right away, ordered the part from the manufacturer (still under warranty) and installed with no glitches. The crew was knowledgeable and nice. We spent most of the summer sweating because Sobella’s wrongfully chose not to tell us the problem and instead had us buy a maintenance agreement and nickeled and dimed us up $1,000! I filed a complaint with the BBB. So we are extremely cautious now and we were lucky we had a home warranty as well.
