Great local place to get coffee! Coffee and cinnamon rolls are both delicious. Atmosphere is friendly with a nice gift shop. There is a table time limit, but overall a nice place to enjoy a coffee.

Extremely rude service. Came here with a co-worker for coffee, after I ordered I then waited in line with my co-worker as she ordered. The man behind the counter looked at me shouted that my drink was ready at the counter. Ok? I’m still waiting for my co-worker to order it’s a coffee shop what’s the rush? We sat outside, there were about two other groups of people sitting on the tables outside as well, at about 5:50 the same man from behind the counter came outside to only our table and said “we close at 6” we felt entirely unwelcome, was it really necessary to only tell me and my co-worker this but no one else? We were just trying to enjoy our time at this beautiful shop, as it was our first and will be our last time here. Would not recommend as the scone that my co-worker ordered was stale and moldy. Disgusting service and food.

It was $11 for an iced coffee and an egg and cheese bagel. Not cheap but it is a small business so they need to make money. I am just a broke person so $11 is a lot. The bagel is really small but it tasted good. I went here thinking there would be more options for breakfast; they only have like two options, I think it was bagels and oatmeal. The iced coffee was pretty tasty though! It wasn’t watered down and they put enough flavor so it lasts through the whole drink. I didn’t buy anything from the gift shop but there were some cute items.

Unfortunately this is not the spirit winds it was when I first moved here. I used to love their pesto and meat pinini. Due to corona they only have three available (which is fine). I got the turkey panini and it was just okay but not bad for the price. They used to have a wonderful pesto pasta salad and now its chips and salsa on the side. The chips I got were stale and salty and they only provided a small cup of salsa that covered maybe 1/4 of the chips they provide. I really miss the old spirit winds I used to truly enjoy their food they provided. But now it has changed and it really is not good. I do not know about other stuff on menu but I think my time purchasing panini meals at spirit winds is up :/. It is such a shame because I used to enjoy it so so much. I also got a mexican hot cocoa and it was wonderful! I would purchase that again. The server was kind and and had food and drink made in 5 minutes. Good service!

I meant to take lots of pictures, as it is very picture-worthy, but I was completely captivated and never thought to take my phone out.The pastries are DELICIOUS and baked fresh on the premises each morning. We got the triberry scone w lemon glaze and a cinnamon roll. YUM! There is a nice selection of beverages, both hot and cold. My latte was tasty and not bitter, which pleased me. Im not a Starbucks fan...The place itself is colorful, comfortable and adorable, with both inside and outside seating. The staff is helpful and attentive. There is a shop attached with SO much beautiful handmade jewelry and other art, well as humorous knick knacks.Plan to spend time. You wont be disappointed.

Stumbled across this place while looking for a local coffee shop while in town for the weekend. We were not disappointed! OMG the Spirit Latte was amazing! (Their signature drink). Definitely try it if you want something different. The ambience of the whole place is fun and quirky, and the gifts area is curated extremely well. Most of the time a shop like this is a huge fail... but they nailed it with some really unique goods and very unique cards and other stuff. If I lived in town I am pretty sure I would come here all the time - and for the right friend I would be able to get the perfect bday gift in a matter of minutes.

They purchased a bunch of cards and pins from us and never paid us. They stole $700 worth of goods from a small business. We tried calling them over a dozen times and had the same reply. “Our manager in charge of paying is not here, please call back”. Lies and thieves. Please never shop here if you support small businesses.

This little coffee and gift shop was once the home to an array of unique gifts and great-tasting pastries. It is now a somewhat trendy, Santa Fe inspired, posh shop/ cafe. I understand new owners= new visions. I think as long as theyre still named Spirit Winds theyll be constantly compared to it. In the end, its a very nice and classy store its just very far from what we once knew. Use to be one of my favorite spots.... to find unique gifts, such as jewelry and grab a cup of coffee. Went in the other day since it got bought by new owners. What a disappointment! The vibe in there is not the same. The place is blah with a southwestern chic to it. The inventory they have wasn’t even local... New Mexican like owners said it would be. More of a coffee/study place for college students. I will definitely miss the “SPIRIT” uniqueness of the vibrant colors, great customer service and all there unique gifts of the old Spirit Winds. Very sad to see this place I will not be going back.Good luck!

This had been my favorite place for unique gifts that you could not find anywhere else. It was a welcoming atmosphere and now it is cold and primarily jewelry and womens clothing. Not to mention the change to the cafe. No longer a fan. Quite disappointing actually. So sad to see the change in ownership also changed the vision. The name should have been changed so I wouldnt have been so misled that the shop and cafe were still wonderful.

LOVE this place. They have good food (the black bean burger is my favorite), lots of tea options, and good coffee. They also have many many different syrups you can add to your lattes, so try a different flavor every time. It is also dog friendly in the outdoor seating area, and the indoor shop is great. They have tons of great gift items such as jewelry, clothes, bags, and art. I have two pieces of art from them in my house as well as some beautiful earrings.

Very sad to see that this is not the same place it use to be. I remember how it was one my favorite places in town to find items you could not find anywhere in town. I miss it. when I walked in I felt uncomfortable. not a welcoming atmosphere. The young dark haired girl on shop side was nice but made me feel uncomfortable because she kept watching me. she made me feel like I was doing something wrong. Not sure if they have had theft there but thats how it felt like she was thinking I am going to steal something. I mean I know I am not rich looking and she does not know me. But you do not have to make people feel badly. 0h well sad to see this place like that.

This used to be my absolute favorite spot in town. I could always come here for cool gifts, knickknacks, and all my coffee needs. The bright colors, political jokes, and amazing menu were what made this place so welcoming. Now it has lost all of its charm. It is bland, characterless, and just like any other “hipster coffeehouse”. I’m completely and utterly disappointed and will being taking business elsewhere.

I’ve been going to spirit winds since I was 8 years old and I’ve always truly loved it whether it be to look around for a great gift, drink some coffee, or spend time with family. What’s really upsetting is that Spirit Winds has lost its SPIRIT. It’s completely different while the new chairs and tables are very nice the whole essence of Spirit Winds has changed to a college tourist shop...

Disappointed with my latest experience here. For years I have enjoyed shopping here for unique gifts, but on my most recent visit the shop girl did not provide good customer service.Bought a really cool non-returnable item but when I looked at the receipt after walking out I noticed shed charged me 77 instead of 47 due to misreading the hand-written price sticker. Went right back in to get it corrected, but she wouldnt side with me, despite not having priced it herself or having a computer inventory of the price, so how would she know what the right price is? In the end she insisted that since the retail price on the product packaging says 90, the owner probably wouldn’t have marked it down that much. Probably! Again, she didn’t actually know. What happened to the customer always being right? The shop has been upgraded recently and looks really nice, but I won’t be coming back here again unless they get a real inventory system.

So sad....the new Spirit Winds is totally disappointing...I have been a patron for 20+ years and Spirit Winds was a top priority for stops in Las Cruces for my whole family, myself and my children ages 15 and 11 (they frequently told me before that it was their favorite place on the planet and would beg to go there)...last time we walked in...we just stood there, shocked at the vast changes that have ruined our perfect vision of Spirit Winds. We decided to give it a try and were further saddened by the gift selection, food and drinks...heartbreaking... definitely not what it used to be...my kids insisted that we never go back and my daughter (11) cried driving away at the loss of what used to be her favorite place on this planet! So sad and disappointing! 😭

This had been my FAVORITE gift shop and cafe for 15 years!!! Always great food and the best service! Today....rude, cold, unhelpful and was told they couldn’t help size a ring that I took in so that I could purchase a correct size!?!? What??? This is a jewelry store as well, correct?? I was just there a few weeks ago and the owner very graciously sized many rings for me. This young lady today not only said she couldn’t but she snarled her face and nose to me and was beyond rude! I had several items in my hand already and very kindly put them down and walked out. I own a business and would NEVER treat a client that way.

I have to wonder a little about what exactly this place has to offer. Its small and quaint, and well maintained, but its doesnt stand out the way I was expecting it to before I went in the first time. The food and drink offerings are pretty standard and can be found all over town. More than half the place is taken up by a store that sells kitschy type things that you can buy online for a third the cost.I understand why some people like this place, and hope they continue to do well, we all need to support our local businesses, but its not really for me. Thats why I went 3 stars, I dont want to put the place on blast when they didnt do anything wrong, but like I said, Ill stop by there for a quick drink or to meet a colleague, but its not high up on my list.
