For us, this was an amazing place! We found several old books we have been looking for, for years. Linda S. Robinson, Emily Loring, Agatha Christie....

Wish I could give it a 0 star.Was just there not long ago and had worst customer service that I ever experienced there, after waiting for a good while to check out I was next to the register and an associate let her friend cut the line while I waited longer. Once it was my turn she could care less for my business, never shopping there again and my family and I have credit still to use so it’s a waste of our money now, never suggesting this place to anyone again.

I love these two bookstores my favourite (smaller and more intimate) being on Solano. The number of books in Coas on Main is mind blowing. The girls working here were super friendly and I will most definitely be going back.

Great selection of books, and for a terrific price. I like the credit system. (I donate books, the store gives me credit, then I use some of my credit and can get 20 different books for about 10 dollars). Not bad at all.. Much better than going to Barnes and Nobles and buying one book for 20 bucks..

A magnificent old style second hand bookshop. Extensive and well organized. It was such a pleasure to browse for a couple of hours. And it had most of the books we were after. Long may it prosper.

Very nice cashiers, the staff seems a tad overwhelmed. But the person that was in charge was very perceptive, intuitive, and motivating. I went in on a Monday, lemme tell you... This lady was great.

Do it, youll like it.To those of you who know me: I did not clean out the older engineering or photography sections.

My go to used bookstore and if they dont have a book today it will eventually be in eventually. I know they have two locations. One downtown N. Main and the other on S. Solano with good communication between them for a book search.

I just Couldnt resist Coas Section of maps. My curiosity gets the best of me when it comes to books, now I can add maps to that list. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Enjoyed every minute of being there. A lot of great sales too.

Absolutely perfect used book store! They have one of everything and I’ve never left without purchasing a book. Engineering, SciFi, fantasy, religion, local maps. Everything!

They give great credit for almost everything you bring in, but the credit isnt really worth much. They have significantly raised the price of their books and your credit only covers a portion of the cost of your purchase.That said, COAS does have a great selection of used and some new books, maps, books on CD, movies, music, vinyl, and supplies. Staff is helpful and can find the most obscure title for you.

I used to love coming to this local bookstore. But lately I find the staff especially the young man with the dark brown hair to be very rude and pompous. They have a huge selection of books. But Amazon usually has what I am looking for and I dont have to deal with a unpleasant staff. Going to a bookstore shouldnt feel like going to the mvd.

I moved from Las Cruces two and a half years ago and I still yearn to be back in this store. I miss the endless shelves full of books and the welcoming environment. I could spend countless hours lost among the books here and never feel out of place. This is truly one of my favorite book stores.

I love COAS books because it is locally owned and operated, they do an awesome books-for-credit program, and the selection is huge. The locations are awesome. Going in on Saturdays during the farmers market is really relaxing. The map room has rare books for more than reasonable prices and interesting, old maps. Your classic, large labyrinthine collection of books masquerading as a bookstore.

This place is huge! Has many books and categories you can select. There are some real bargains, but then there are some over priced books.

Wow! Coas books is great. This place has everything... literature, books, audio books, friendly employees, and adorable elderly customers. I would take all five of my well behaved little ones here. I mean... I dont have little ones... but one day... Hahahaha.You walk in you are greeted. Being greeted is great.Coas... is great!

Excellent service. They really care! Have a great system for finding books and for giving you the best experience! They misplaced a movie I bought once and when I came back they fixed my problem AND gave me a free movie! We go there all the time! Love love love it!

Great used book store. They also have new books. They have a program where you can take books youve read and give you credit on books you wish to purchase. Can find books of any kind. They have a childrens section as well. Its a little treasure box of books. Customer service is awesome. Fair pricing. They carry DVDs and cassettes as well. VHS for those of you who still do that. They do have bathrooms. My kids and I spend hours in there and then go to museum right next door. They have nice little restaurants where you can sit outside and sit and read your books or just enjoy the day.

I could spend hours in this store perusing their collection of used books. I ended up with an armful! Of all the used bookstores Ive been to, this was probably the most organized. It was so easy to navigate, and it had wonderful signage broken down into really specific categories.

Stopped to sell books from my moms estate. Help was fast and friendly. Looks like They are rearranging some so I didnt stop and browse much. Ill be back to do that sometime soon.

Love this used bookstore. Its got so much variety of books, store smells great, they have a customer credit so you can bring in you unwanted books/CDs /DVDs and you get credit for future purchases. Personnel is very attentive and informative so I had a great experience. They also have something for the kids on Saturday mornings where they read to the kids and then they get a coupon for a book so its great if you have school aged kids

We LOVE Coas!! An amazing browsing book store. Great selection in every number of the Dewey Decimal system (you book nerds will get that joke...) Weve turned books in for credit with no issues as well. My wish list would include more picture books for reading to small kids, but Im sure those get sold fast.

This place is pretty sweet. Used bookstore with a decent selection of good stuff. 3.5 stars because of their new policy on store credit. I have traded in several hundreds of dollars worth of books and movies but they changed store credit and now its not really worth it to trade in anything unless I want to then pay out of pocket after giving up my stuff. Feels like you got ripped off.

A wondrous maze of books spanning 3 buildings, all on the main levels. Great blend of dusty bookstore and cozy reading room.

Lots of books, various media (VHS, DVDs, audio books,...). All catagorized. Great place to find info on local history.The employees are helpful if you need help finding certain item or need to place items in hold in reserve once available.The credit from bringing in your used books or media is a good way yo save on purchases.

Ive been going to Coas since I was a child--they always have an interesting selection of books, and I usually leave with a few weeks worth of reading material. They allow you to exchange books for credit at a fair rate. Please check out this place before resorting to an online seller like Amazon!
