So I had scheduled for tune up services and suspension inspection back in June the process was quick and everything but it came to be that my spark plug wires and the coil packs werent replaced AT ALL... From my understanding, a tune up INCLUDES spark plugs AND wires to be replaced regardless. My vehicle has been running really weird and Im not sure if I would want to send it back. Also a tire rotation was done and for some reason my truck would rock side to side when I went over a small bump on the highway. Came to find out 2 of the tires were smaller than the other 2... I dont know what happened but I remember having all my tires the same size the last time I checked.. so the people were nice and all but Im not too sure if they are just ripping people off by failing to fully conduct certain services. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Poor communication and diagnosis. Brought my car in because of brake squealing and was told after inspecting the brakes that they determined it was the rear brakes. So I left the car overnight and had to call around 3pm to get a status update. When I called they stated that it was actually the front brakes cashing the squealing and they needed to be replaced. I elected to pick up my car as is and go somewhere else. How you can have mechanics inspect the vehicle and say the front is fine but rear needs to be replaced then say nevermind its the front after charging $400 for the rear brakes is ridiculous. Will not use any Pep Boys again.

Head out for a long trip with daughters car after graduation and I found some problems with it Saturday at around noon. Pet boys said they could have it back to me Sunday. Changed out power steering pump, front crank shaft seal, serpentine belt, front end alignment in 24 hrs. Rose was the front office person and is a gem! Great communication. Did the work at a fair price. Mechanic was friendly and knowledgeable. Very thankful for all of them and left of the trip north Monday with no issues.

Apparently they are going out of business and doors close sometime in May so everything on the floor was 40% off. I do not think 40% was taken off of everything I purchased on the the floor but I should of looked at my receipt prior to arriving back home which is over an hour away. The reason for my 5 stars is the gentleman that helped me out, Josh. He was more then helpful, changed my windshield wipers blades for me that I had purchased there. Josh was so helpful and had the best customer service!!! Good luck Josh in your future endeavors, anyone would be lucky to have you on there team!!

I had my first major service, new brakes, with Pep Boys, Las Cruces on 9/23/2021...Once, again, Rose, Tony, Sergio, and the Service Team provided Excellent Customer Service, From scheduling the appointment through the completion of the Service!Sergio provides Excellent Customer Service!!!The first time I went to Pep Boys was during the early days of the Pandemic when Walmart Automotive was closed, for an oil, and air filter change. I was very impressed with the service I received...My second experience was today...I called and spoke to Sergio yesterday and explained what service I was needing. He let me know about the Travel Check that Pep Boys provides. When I arrived at 8:30 am, Sergio had the crew perform the Travel Check, no charge!My Father, always spoke well of Pep Boys, no matter what State he was in. Now, I know, that the Excellent Customer Service, and Numerous Automotive Services provided, Pep Boys, Las Cruces, NM is my new Go To!

Pump the brakes!Took my car in at 430pm for a brake job and after getting the wrong parts I left my vehicle there to be completed the next day.4 hours into the next day I called to see if it was ready. I was told they need a couple more hours...in others words we forgot to complete it this morning and were going to do it now.Repair work 5 stars, management and customer service 1 star. Keeping the customer informed goes a long way in the service industry, simply pump the brakes and call.

Went to tire center when I got off work, wanted to buy a set of tires I found on website. The tire tech said well your better off buying on line. Didnt even offer to honor price. Then when I well I need them, I will go ahead and buy them. He said theres a 2hr wait we close in 2.5 hrs. We cant do them. B.s. lose a $700 sale because you might have to stay 10 extra minutes. Went somewhere else that was busier. Still got done before they closed.

I realize that help is needed at this store but this is something that should be said while making appointments. It may take awhile. My appointment was for 2. Car was taken in garage at 3. Also, website mentions 3 batteries for sale. The one the store has is not one of these, its more expensive. I feel like theres somethings missing here. Store closing everything on the sales floor is 40% off now met one they will be closed permanently. Theyre still going to keep the tire service open at the store. The only check out in the store is the back parts counter two guys working it wasnt crowded no problems getting in and out lots of stuff still on the shelves.

BEWARE LAS CRUCES. Find another place to take your vehicle!! Manager Shawn will pretend he cares about you and your vehicle. Paid over $900 with 3 separate trips in the same 2 week period to fix my 2014 Chevy Silverado That has less then 100,000 miles on it. Same problem exists still. Engine light still comes on. I was born here in Las Cruces and my family and I have been coming here forever and has spent thousands of dollars here at this shop. TIME TO FIND A NEW SHOP!! VERY DISAPPOINTED AND UNSATISFIED.

I had an appointment to check my car engine light. I approved them to run the diagnostic ($119) to find the issue. I left my car from 8am to 1pm. I decided to call to check how things was going, they spent 5 hours with my car and they didnt even run the diagnostic. It was so disrespectful!

Paid them $100 to diagnose a check engine light and was told I needed a new $700 EVAP Canister. Took my car to AutoZone and they pulled the codes (for free) and told me that I needed a $22.99 Canister purge valve not the complete system. I put it in myself in under 5 minutes and the car is back to normal.Followup: After talking to the manager he refunded the $100 diagnostic fee.. Ive change my rating from 1 to 4 stars because they did the right thing.

I would give it zero stars if I could we were driving from out of town got a nail in the tire and tire was almost flat we pulled up at 7:30pm they close at 8:00pm asking them if they could please help us and the rudest employee came up to us and said no that he still had to clean and didn’t have time I then asked to talk to a manager she came out and started saying no we can’t do anything with your tire before she even approached us she said try another tire shop I asked again if they could please help being that I had kids in the car and was scared to continue driving she no and walked away I couldn’t believe how they treated us.

Overpriced.Wanted to charge me about $500 to change out some spark plugs. Thats absolutely insane. My regular mechanic who Ive gone to for almost 10 years said hed only charge $200 for the job. Even the oil change I got was way overpriced.Ive never had a problem with their mechanics and theyve always had good customer service. But their prices are through the roof.

I attempted twice to submit review sent from Pep Boys to my email and both times it was rejected. Reason was it was against their guidelines, maybe because it was a negative review. Roughly four weeks ago I schedule an appointment because my back brakes were grinding and I knew they would need replaced, I was not having any issues with the front. After the brake inspection I was advised to have the front changed as well as they were down to 10%. Being proactive I agreed. Fast forward two weeks, the front brakes have been grinding and brake dust starting to appear on rims. I took it back in and was advised they didn’t have time at the moment but scheduled an appointment the next day. I go in for the appointment and observe the entire process. Car was pulled in and raised on the ramp and tires were removed and mechanic looked at the brakes but didn’t appear to do anything. Tires back on and car lowered and explanation was the brakes weren’t lined up correctly but it was fixed. Fast fwd two more weeks and the problem continues and brake dust is now caked on the front rims. I stop in and explain to the manager and the mechanic that the issue doesn’t happen 100% of the time but gets worse as the day goes by, I am on the road a lot and the car is my livelihood at the moment. I paid more attention and watched everything. Mechanic took car for a little spin and tells me he felt a little bit of something and would check it out. Car was pulled in and raised on the ramp. A half hour passes and nobody looked at the car, the tires were never even removed so I know the brakes were not checked. The car is lowered and the manager took it for a spin. He tells me he felt what I was feeling and that it wasn’t the brakes, he tells me it was how the tires were gripping the road when braking. The tires were just purchased in September and I was not having any issues with them so that didn’t sit well. I asked the manager for an explanation for the caked on brake dust and he stated that’s from the breaking in of the brakes which is normal the first 500 miles or so. I advised him I have already put roughly 2000 miles on the car since new brakes were installed. He continues that the brakes were fine. Pulled car to door and handed me the keys saying to come back while it’s happening and they will check. The first time I applied the brakes, not even getting out of the parking lot the same problem continued. I felt that my concern was not important after watching nothing being done and that they rushed me out the door. I do understand they were busy and time is of the essence, however, my time is valuable as well. After three visits the issue is ongoing and I feel as if going back is useless.

Rude employees, always difficult to book appointments because of other people, there are long wait times just for basic fixes, and the labor is overly priced. Not to mention after I got an oil change from them in around late May, my car started leaking what appears to be oil or some other fluid. They probably messed with it or did a poor job installing and/or replacing stuff. The guy who answers phone calls is especially rude.Got my more recent car tuned up and they replaced a valve cover gasket as well. The check engine light came on as soon as I got the car. They forgot to plug in the solenoid cable and were going to charge me $120 more for a diagnostic on top of $358.96. I suspect that they were just trying to get money from me. Now Im not even sure they did anything and just charged me for the parts and supposed labor which took like 4-5 hours. They were just trying to get me into the shop for more business. I opened the hood of my car today and saw that the cable was unplugged. I plugged it back in and the problem with the check engine light and the code reading P0079 turned off. Im taking my business elsewhere from now on you scandals. Youre scum. No wonder you closed so many stores as a corporate company.

Oil change service.I have a car care plan for vehicle for free oil change and tire rotation service for a Jeep. When Jack Key changed over to Kia, they no longer would honor the service plan. The Jeep portion of Viva Dodge refused to honor the service plan. Pep Boys is one of the places in town that will work with me so I can use the service coupons. I have paid a discounted amount for using the service coupon. I appreciate that this company is willing to work with me on this.

The gentleman who helped me was extremely nice and I wish I got his name. He had black curly hair. I went to pay and apparently picked up a $72 hitch. He stopped me after seeing the price, and went to check to make sure the price was accurate. When we got to the isle he suggested I just get a receiver since autozone already sold me the ball. Extremely nice and said if I cant do it theyll get some of the guys to come help me. Now thats customer service; FYI I came straight from autozone which was an empty store with three employees gossiping and I had to go in 3 times before I left to pepboys

1st timer, met Sergio who runs the shop. He was short handed and extremely busy, but still took the time to welcome me, a real pro, and got me in within 15 minutes for some basic maintenance. I was back on the road within an hour. Pep Boys is way better than jiffy lube as far as communication of costs and specials. They have a nice clean waiting area, plus you can shop in their store. I was very impressed.

I decided to buy a new set of tires + alignment for my car and they didn’t seem to have the alignment set correctly. When I brought my car back the service manager seemed reluctant to want to do anything about it. After he took the car back he did admit that the alignment was off and that it was now fixed... I took my car to get serviced one week later and was told my alignment was still off! I decided to just take my car to the pep boys on Mesa in El Paso TX and they were able to get me taken care of. I am glad they were ultimately able to fix the issue but I will not be taking my service back to the Las Cruces pep boys store.

Driving cross country, we stoped at Pep Boys in Las Cruses because our van was pulling from side to side randomly after an oil change and tire rotation at a Pep Boys in Phoenix. The entire crew at the Las Cruses Pep Boys was helpful, polite, and most importantly good humored. At the services desk Sergio heard out my concerns without jumping to conclusions or interrupting (very professional). He made some suggestions as to what it might be but immediately put me in line for the lift. Even though we were walk-ins we waited only 15 minutes before Vicente came out to check out the problem. He took it for a drive with me, even taking some extra time to go on the freeway to feel what was wrong. Soon as we got back he put it on the lift and thoroughly checked everything out. He concluded it was probably just the tires breaking in after the rotation especially since the older tires moved to the front. He suggested new tires as an option but was not simply trying to sell to me. I followed up with Sergio about the cost of new tires. Again he was very professional, telling me what I needed to know but not pressuring me to purchase. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone in need of maintenance work. The light hearted and helpful spirit of the whole crew will certainly make your visit a pleasant one.

The customer service has always been good even when I am next in line after some very rude customers I have found that they still managed to help me out and be very patient with my million questions. Pep boys ran an engine diagnostic on my car and said that nothing was wrong with my car. When I picked it up, the service engine light was on so I brought it to their attention. They reassured me that they could just clear the light and nothing would be wrong. Here I am, writing a review saying that something was wrong with my car. I paid over 100 dollars for the engine diagnostic, had them tell me nothing was wrong, watched them clear the service engine soon light, and left just to have my car break down again. I dont recommend this place at all.

Dont trust them for anything other than tires. After driving my truck home after having the radiator replaced I noticed steam coming out from under the hood. I thought No, they couldnt have forgotten that, they cant be THAT dumb. But sure enough, no radiator cap. Doh! At least they left it under the hood.I still have them do tire service, though, and have had no issues at all with that.

This review for the Auto Parts store not the service. The store by itself is large, clean, and it has most of the tools and parts you need. I went to there few times. The staff are friendly and nice, but one time I was told the tool was not available and it was. I was looking for a radiator hose removal tool, I checked if its available in the store using pep boys website, and it showed the tool in stock, when I went to the store the guy who works there, searched for the part using the computer and he told me that its not available, I asked if they have anything similar and he directed me to the special tool section, and I found the same tool I was looking for. I believe it was just a mistake . Overall my experience with this store is very good

I bought new tires from Pep Boys when they were doing a buy three get one free promotion when I was living in Las Vegas. Ever since then I have been to many different Pep Boys in 5 different states and have not had any problems. I had my brakes changed there after calling every other place in town and they were the best priced for the pads and rotors and for the labor.My only complaint is they do seem to take their time, but as for quality the brakes are great, the tire are fantastic and they do include free rotation and balancing.Overall theyre great cuz they are everywhere and you never know when you might need a rotation.

Avoid this place. I walked in for a tire change, the guy at the front was having a full blown conversation with the people in front of me about a concert. Zero acknowledgement that I was even there. I asked if there was another associate who could assist since I was in a bind and a time crunch, and NO ONE was available to help. My option was to wait for the employee to finish his conversation so that I could even get started about finding out more information in regards to pricing. Honestly, they werent any help. Please save yourself the hassle. They advertise all of these different services, but can not deliver with customer service. Plenty of other places in town that can help you.

It is unfortinant that every brick and mortor store carries so little. we were looking for truck seat covers and they had a bunch of low quality and non-specific ones. The staff was helpful and offered to order something for us but whats the point in going in if we have to order it. as far as the rest of what they carry its pretty good. This place is Horrible. Every time I decide to give them another chance I regret it. I went to them because they were the only place in town that had the specific tires, I wanted in stock and I needed two new tires immediately. It took them about 3 hours go do the work. When I got my car back everything seemed fine. Until my tires kept getting low. They didnt seal the valve steams properly. Took it back they resealed the valve stems and I also had an alignment. Now my right front tire is out of balance and my car pulls to the right. I wish I could take it somewhere else but I paid so much for the tires I want it done right!

Pepboys told her the front brakes needed to be replaced & the back brakes were so close she might as well replace them too. They quoted her $297 for the front brakes alone! I told her that was too high & she should call around. Firestone quoted her $154 so she took her car there. Lo & behold Firestone said her brakes were squeaking because they were dirty & werent even close to needing to replaced, the pads still had 6mm front & back. Come back in 6 months they said & maybe they might need it if you drive & brake hard. Dont go to pepboys they are dishonest & you will get ripped off!

Horrible, they are just trying to rip you off. The guy who named Mike sitting in the tire installation desk is extremely rude. My boyfriend and I were all there, they didnt know until we appeared together, the price they gave me and the price they gave my boyfriend is completely different for changing rare breaks. All the coupons I brought with me were denied by him at first, and finally some of the coupons worked after we discussed with them. Now the tires are 15% off online, while they only gave me 10% off because I used some other coupon. I left my old tires there and there should be $10 off, they didnt give me this discount neither. They are trying to get the money from your pocket. BE AWARE!I gave it 2 stars because all the stuffs work on my car were really nice, trying to get around all kinds of additional fee Mike told me.

Worst oil change experience Ive ever had. Paid for synthetic and realized as I was driving out of town that they gave me regular based on the sticker that they left. They did not give me a refund because I couldnt physically come back and give them the card I used. Dont go here.
