Dropped shimano currado 200pg off for ticking noise in July 21. Called me 6 weeks later said it was bearings. I came in to pick it up same problem. Fast forward to Oct 21. Shimano sent them the wrong part. I was told parts were on back order. Wait for it,,,,, the COVID excuse. I called ahimano 30 seconds later. They had 12 of the part I needed in stock. The real is 179.00 new. The repair was $ 72.00. The entire period I was never notified of any status. Only when I called would I get status only to be told the same thing. Waiting on parts, I am a patient person and I understand things happen. But when you are lied to that is a diffrent problem. I should have been told the repair cost before proceeding on the repair. I should have been provided periodic status. The customers should not have to find the part. I will never go back. This is an honest not overly exaggerated review. The choice is yours. Order the parts and fix it yourself. Worst case you have to buy a new one. Remember they are charging 50% of the reels total value anyway. You have been warned .

Great shop. Probably the largest selection of soft plastic baits in the area. Helpful people, friendly, and they do great repair work.

Today my husband picked up his trolling motor after having it repaired. He says Betts service was outstanding. Brad in particular was very helpful and went out of his way to try to fix the trolling motor as inexpensively as possible. Overall, very impressed with Betts.

Have to say Jesse and the guys at Betts have went up and beyond customer service. I had recently bought a Penn conflict 2 from West Marine and from day 1 something wasnt right with it. fast forward about 5 months ( 3 uses of the reel ) I decided to take my reel to Betts to have it looked at. come to find out my new Penn was a defective one and had 2 broken parts in it. Great place great people my goto

They provide line spooling and rod repair services at a premium price but good quality. The old fellow in the back who does rod repair is a bit unfriendly and gruff - not the most pleasant person and was the reason I did not give the place a higher score. They do not provide any salt (or freshwater) fly fishing merchandise and there is limited freshwater selections. The line spooling is very expensive but rod repair is reasonable. Lures and other products are priced higher than the exact same products offered online in many instances and they do not really cater at all to any low end/affordable equipment. For instance they do not sell or service any spincasting type gear or other entry level equipment for beginners or kids.Still, it is worth the trip to at least visit the store which is professionally laid out and very presentable.

I am not so sure about the other reviews. I guess you have to know somebody here to get Service. I just spent a half an hour looking at reels. Not one person asked if I needed help. This was after I took an unrepairable reel to the counter. You would think that they would have wanted to sell me a new one!

Being fairly new to the area I stopped by to pick up a few supplies and any advice they had to offer, what an experience. Jackie was assisting me and took her time, made great recommendations. I was never rushed, she explained multiple options for everything i was purchasing, showed me multiple options and price differences. This was one of the few stores that I have patronized that did not push the most expensive items, it was just an overall great experience. I also picked up some frozen sardines and squid that were $6 cheaper a box then what we have been paying on the east coast. Just a great experience, Jackie was awesome with a great sense of humor and extremely knowledgeable. This is my new tackle shop!

Nice shop, nice people. Huge selection of Miro lures and some nice does and reels. Large service area. Could use more of a zman jig selection but thats just my preference.

Prices are good as is selection. The staff is also very helpful without trying to over sell you. Ive actually been able to save money here over Amazon.

Couldn’t be more pleased with service I just got from Sully, I dropped my minn Kota off at another shop and they had it for 2 weeks....and couldn’t tell me what was wrong. He spoke to me over the phone gave me a general diagnosis, I got it from the other shop took it to him and literally no exaggeration, he had it fixed and back to me in less then 2 hours! Nice store had them rebuild an old fishing rod new eyes ec t . Got it home then noticed one eye was way off took it back and they re did eye. They did a nice job all in all it looks great. Bought a reel little high in price. Could have bought it cheaper at bass pro shop.

I went into the store for 1 item and walked out with a wealth of knowledge! Betts is the real deal. Ive made a load of fishing poles in my life but havent made any poles in a very long time. They have a wide variety of fishing tackle and boating items. I called about a part for my trolling motor and was given excellent customer service as the individual walked to the specific part of their showroom where the product was located to ensure it was in stock. Pricing isnt the best, but its fair. Their location can make them a little difficult to find, but once there - there isnt much of anything they dont carry.

Walked in shortly after 11:00 am. No greeting or acknowledgement until I was there for 10 minutes and walking down the third aisle. Just another typical tackle shop. The staff is more interested in each other than their customers and the regulars. BTW, it was dead.

I brought my reel in for service after reading google reviews and this was the closest shimano service dealer without having to send out my reel to shimano... These people seem really nice at first but that was VERY deceiving... The guy tells me it will take a week because they are busy.. The guy disassembles my reel in front of me, tells me bearings are shot but gears look good and you were lucky... hmmm... ok then... he said will cost $60 for bearings with cleaning... FANTASTIC... I call to inquire about my reel after 1 week and they tell me it will be a couple more days. 10 days go by and dont hear anything so I call again... They say we have 3 reels ahead of you.. OK FINE... I get a call today( almost 2 weeks later) and the man who disassembled my reel in front of me, tells me the gears are bad.. what?? He says will cost 100+ now... mind you this reel retails for 220... So I tell him just put it back together and Ill come pick it up... He said will be a $21 charge for cleaning... I dont argue and say fine, whatever... I get in store and the reel was WORSE off when I left it... when I left the reel it didnt make noise when cranking... NOW IT DOES! REALLY? and btw, I open the drag system... this is in the same shape I left it... I basically got scammed out of $21 for cleaning and greasing LOL... I dont care for the money... but 2 weeks to get a reel back and to have them change story is TILTING... I am ALL for supporting LOCAL BUSINESS, but sorry Betts, youll never get a penny out of me and even if you tell me free service, NO THANKS...

Had my minkota worked on for warranty work, they guys in the warranty shop were awesome! Had my trolling motor ready to rock in roll in one day...Definitely would recommend to anyone!!
