We called in to place an order for carryout based on recommendations from close family members. What a treat! Authentic and genuine German cuisine prepared better than Ive ever experienced previously. I was greeted at the door and I felt appreciated and welcomed by the staff and management (possibly the owners, Im not certain as it was my first visit). My wife and I ordered two different meals and both of us found the dishes remarkable. There was more food than we could eat so were both looking forward to lunch today! We will be back! I would rate this restaurant 6 stars if I could.

Wow! This was an amazing dining experience!The authentic German cuisine here is unparalleled anywhere. The lentils and schnitzel were old world delicious. The cold cut platter was just right as a starter. We also had a chicken fried steak covered in gravy dish that was amazing. The purple cabbage and dark gravy also was spectacular and unique. The service was wonderful and this is a place that you should visit if youre in the St Petersburg area. Its probably a little secret so dont go spreading the word too much just bring friends and family lol jkOh by the way I think you can only bring small groups to this as the place is not that large. You might want to plan ahead for your visit. But it will be worth it...!

Love this store, they carry lots of german groceries, fresh bread and cold cuts. Sometimes even schocokisses.

It doesnt get more authentic or delicious. Cant wait to go back and try something else on this incredible menu.

Ate there today around noon. Best server. Very nice and didnt rush us. I was with my 90 year old grandma and she made the experience well. The food was also delicious. Server deserves a raise

This place is wonderful and authentic. The staff is very kind and you can tell they work very hard to make sure your food is made perfectly to order, even if it takes a little longer. The food was delicious.The only thing that hindered our experience was that there was a large group sitting adjacent to us that was absolutely miserable. They were a much larger party, and even though we were seated after them, we were ready to order first and therefore our food arrived first. This was the tip of the iceberg for this large group, who were already annoyed that my group was being too loud aka actually enjoying our lunch together. Waves of complaints came one after the next, and they were very rude to the staff. Mind you, the staff is very small and was serving two large groups at once; they were doing the best they could. We made sure to tell the staff that we loved everything, that they were doing a great job, and that we would be coming back. The other group made it clear they would not, and good riddance- they wont be ruining the atmosphere anymore. 😜

We were so excited to have German dinner here. When we walked into the restaurant, it smelled like sewage - no way to sit down and enjoy a nice meal. The lady at the front was nice but just said “it’s ok if you leave. We don’t smell it”. We would have appreciate if someone would have told us prior to our long drive.

Authentic delicious meats. Id go here every day for the fresh bread if I lived closer. They have imported goods as well. Some goods change based on the season. They have lots of imports around the holidays of cookies/sweets.

This is an honest and fair review. I lived in Germany for over two years and have eaten many authentic German meals, so I know good German food and bad. The food at Jägerstüble is mediocre at best. I ordered the pork roast with spatzle and red cabbage. The pork was extremely overcooked, the spatzle was dry, and the red cabbage had virtually no taste. The service was very good, the prices were more than reasonable, and the atmosphere was authentic.

I will never go there again! We got there when they opened, were the only customers, we waited 20mins for our drinks, and after 40 mins we got bread, and still no soup or salad.I finally had enough, I asked the unprofessional server to just put my food togo and give me my bill, she stared argue ing with me, I thru here a $20 bill for my one beer and stormed out

The retail side seemed a tad pricey... compared to Magdeburg, Germany anyway, haha! But the restaurant and deli are priced well. Either way, its all Sooooooo tasty! And true to tradition, mainly handmade. The owners and staff are wonderful and quite skillful. Check them out! And visit often!

Great food terrible service!They belittled us and made us feel terrible.We were 30 min early to our reservation because we live an hour away and didn’t know about traffic and didn’t know if we needed to check in beforehand. The lady said “you’re early! We can’t sit you!” I said that was completely fine and that we don’t mind waiting outside and she said no I’ll go ahead and sit you. They got us drinks. Then 20 min go by and I asked if we could view the menu and she said no because we can’t put our food in cause we were early. Which is fine but just wanted to look over the food-first time there. Then we finally get menus and now it’s another 15 min or 20 min later and she said “Ok now I can take your order-that’s what happens when you’re early!” Like what?! Then they brought bread to our table. Couldn’t we have gotten the bread with our drinks?? I asked to have the check with our food cause we were on a time crunch and she gave me this dirty look. And def did not bring the check with our food.So bummed because I absolutely love love German food! I’ll be sticking to Schillers and Dunderbaks.

EXCELLENT home made quality.We could hear the chef pounding out the pork for schnitzel & it was outstanding! Light breading, cooked without heavy oil & juicy, tender with mushroom gravy complementing, not smothering or hiding the pork.The salad with 7 small portions of side items was also excellent and could almost be a lunch by itself. Surely home baked bread, too!

Service is wonderful, but not fast. If you in a hurry should not go here. Food is comforting, big portions, reminds me European home food, simple. Goulash was not that great, I like the one with big meat ball more, which can be a meal by itself for lunch for sure. Beer is very good, even this time I had to pass in it. Cant wait to come back.

I assume the food was good but Ill never know. Walked in the door and the woman behind the bar glanced over shoulder and said either get out there was no room or there was no room so leave. Either way, it could have been handled 1000x better. The girl at the German Bistro down the street was nice and accommodating when we walked in and they were equally busy.

To say authentic would almost be an insult. This is real cook to order homestyle German cuisine. When your hear the meat hammer pounding out schnitzel to order you know its going to be special. Every bite brings back memories of the time spent there from long ago. Great range of German beers and an honest laid back, dont even think of being in a hurry vibe. Gut? Ja!

Ive been here a couple times. We got some smoked ham from the deli and some apple cake. Started with potato leek soup served super hot and delicious. We both had sausage krout sandwiches... loved them. I believe I can eat my weight in the potato salad. This food is authentic, all made to order.

Know what you are ordering. My dish was exactly what I expected, and well done. My partners, on the other hand was a disappointment; in her words, an overpriced plate of French fries. I tasted her meat, and concurred. In there past Ive suggested been happy with the meal, so take that into consideration

It was good until the rest room backed up and there was no where to go!We asked to speak to the manager but they would not speak to us.The water was all over the restroom floor from the toilet and they expected us to use the restroom in that condition. I dont like wading through someone elses toilet overflow to use the facilities.Too bad.

Cozy German place decked out with the feel of a hunting lodge. Food was great. Beer was great. they were very accommodating to my young children. The little deli store in the same building has very limited hours.

The meats are fresh, the food is prepared with true German artistry. If you want the real thing, not an Americanized version, then there is no where better to have a bite. If you plan on eating dinner there on the weekends, I recommend making reservations. The service is great and they have a full line of German biers on tap, served with a head of course.

I have eaten there before but it was a long time ago. The food was better before. The spaztl was dry and rubbery. The potato salad was mushy. Red cabbage was good and the meat and gravy were good

This is traditional all the way, from the dining room with its selection of fine German beers on tap to the menu with the many choices of real German cuisine. Also, I particularly like the DELI area, where there are a fine selection of genuine, dense European-style breads and cut to order cheeses that you cant find anywhere else.Highly recommended!

My wife is German and I was in the Army in in Germany for 3 years and I can tell you that this place has authentic German food with an authentic German atmosphere. Do not go in here expecting American type fast food service. When Germans go to a restaurant they take their time and enjoy the atmosphere as well as the food. That is the way things are done here. But it is worth spending some extra time here. Both the Wurstsalat and the Schnitzel were the the best Ive had outside of Germany. We will be returning soon!

If you look for an authentic experience, that’s a great place. True German food, great beer and service. That’s were a lot of German ex-pats go, because they know they get the real stuff they know from home! The deli store next door, offers imported and locally made meats, breads, cheeses, condiments etc.

Great little deli and restaurant. In the deli prices for the shelf stable things may seem high, but theyre about the same at any of the German restaurants/delis Ive been too. The deli counter is fantastic. We had to limit our purchases or wed have easily spent over $100 on all the goodies.The restaurant had good beer and food. My husband had the Germans sampler, my son had a side of the spetzle(it was huge), and I has the Swiss salid. We all were very happy with our food. We finished with a slice of black forest cake that was to die for.The waitress was super nice and amazing with our 17 month old. Though she could have used help. The place was almost packed and it was just her. I think someone running the bar and cash register would fix that. But it could have just been they werent expecting a packed house on a Wednesday afternoon

I was really disappointed as Id heard some really good things. The food was barely passable at best, although the goulash wasnt so bad. I brought a friend who is in town from Munich, and was embarrassed to have brought her here. Our waitress was nice but didnt pay much attention to the table. Id still like to give the deli a shot but, as a whole, the restaurant was disappointing at best.Not to be mean but it just was not worth it.

This time the sauce tasted a bit burnt, and the red cabbage had no flavor. Took a while to get bread and never received a straw. Soup was wonderful though.

My review is concerning the deli I have not yet eaten at the restaurant but I wish to in the near future. This, is not negative its just a comment on what could improve the deli. Ive been coming here for the past couple years once in awhile and I believe service should be felt with a smile especially if your German is not perfect. I was in the store a couple days ago with an order when it was crowded and I placed my order. The older lady that runs the counter could be a little bit more friendly and thats so angrily when its busy there were other people helping her. I dont appreciate the comment German and I understand German pretty well about how much they hate this state of Florida and this country. I dont think its good for the customers to hear this and they should keep their comments to their selves its not good for business. If I see this in the near future again on my next visit I will discontinue coming to the store.

Horrible service by a woman whose first language is Spanish. Really? The food was not very good, once it FINALLY arrived. And they ran out of Apple Strudle. Really? The best part was the coffee and it was pretty good
