These guys are to notch professionals. Ive been been looking for an honest mechanic in Pinellas county and I have found them. I just took my recently acquired Toyota Sequoia to them and Ill be doing all my maintenance at their shop going forward for all the vehicles in my family.

My first time coming here, needed to have my brake pads changed. They were able to book me on short notice for a Saturday appointment and had my car done quick so I could still use it that day! They were very nice and charged me a good price. Great local mechanic!

Driving from NY to FL. During the drive the check engine light came on. When we called Hoover, the owner was extremely timely and got us in right away. As soon as we pulled in they started working on the car and fixed the problem. Very grateful for the guys there. Would highly suggest esp if you’re from out of the state and are worried to see someone outside of your regular mechanic.

Took my car to a AAA service center left it there for 3 days they charged me 200 bucks said they fixed it. nope took it to this shop as soon as i left AAA and these guys had it fixed in a few hours!!! definitely happy i found them.

I didnt go there but when I spoke to the gentleman on the phone he was very polite and was going to charge me a fair amount for what I needed done. If I ever have to go to a shop its gonna be him.

Im a car guy, and I performing all repairs myself, unless I need a lift, or Im just lazy to do something. Most of the places I seen, trying to rip you off, telling you some nonsense. They just assume that you do not understanding what they are talking about. Well, I do.However, at this place, I didnt show what I know and what I dont, and the owner gave me perfectly fair information and price. Places like this, should be #1 in your list. Since my first visit, Ill go only here, whatever Ill need, because they have a skill, they are many times awarded by car manufacturers, and they prefer to have a loyal customers for many years, instead of one time rip off as everybody else. It’s been a long time before finding a reliable mechanic but I finally found it! This by far is the best place I have found to genuinely give me good prices and GREAT work! I commend Chuck for helping me with my Mazda. This car doesn’t have much to offer but with his help he gave me the right prices to keep her going. The service was great! I was recommended to them by a family friend. They fixed my a/c for a good price, didnt charge me an arm and a leg like everyone else wanted to. They are very honest and will not rip you off. He got the job done very quickly too. I wouldnt go anywhere else now.

Two weekends ago, I took my car in for new belts and rotor replacements after being told by several shops that my brakes were metal-to-metal for months by multiple places in the area.When I came to pick it up, Chuck surprised me by telling me that I, in fact, was not metal-to-metal and that I simply needed new pads. Chuck was fantastic - honest about the price up front, let us know what all he had done for labor, what parts were replaced and why, and what the costs of the parts were. I was totally amazed with the curtious and caring with the business. I called for an estimate and time frame to do a repair. Not being from the area I was totally surprised at the service from them. Chuck have me a price and time frame calling me back that he had not gotten delivery on part needed and changed my appointment time by a few hours which was fine and stated he would call me if part came in early and the part arrived early and bring my car in whenever I could. So dropped car off and low and behold was done in no time and quoted price was about two dollars more than quoted which was fine. I give this place five stars. This was first visit to Hoover and Sons, wont be my last. Chuck the owner is very pleasant to deal with and straight forward. They were able to get my a/c blowing cold on my van at a very reasonable price. They also were able to get my door locks working with just replacing a simple fuse. Thanks for the great service and for getting those locks working for me.

Ive had very good experience. Their pricing seems reasonable and they do good work. They dont exceed their estimates and they dont do unnecessary work. If you have the option of a more expensive (better) fix vs. a less expensive (less than better) fix, they will explain in detail and give you the option.

Ive beem going to see Chuck for a few years now. Started off with my grandmothers minivan, he cut the cost of competitors in half and did the job in one day(rear wheel bearings).Then came my car. I mistakenly brought it to another local establishment for AC repair and they charged me $100 and fixed nothing. Ran over to Hoover and Sons, not only did he point out the previous shops garbage, he was able to find the actual problem within a minute. Price was perfect and the job was done the same day!Its hard finding a good, reputable mechanic in this area. The chain shops are used to predatory elderly pricing.

Great experience! The repair took a little long than expected but chuck communicated along the way & it was only to ensure he got the best transmission for my vehicle. Price was very competitive. Half of my previous transmission Repair.Would definitely recommend.

My bf bought his truck in we thought the headgasket were blown cause he had no oil and we thought there was oil in the water.. Well Hoover and Sons check his truck out and found nothing wrong with his truck.. Just burned alot of oil and it was not oil in the water.. They suggested to do a oil change so we did.. So something we thought was going to be about 2000.00 turn out to cost us 40.00 for the oil change.. They could of told us it was the headgasket like some other place probably would of... But Hoover and Sons was very honest so 2 thumbs up!! Thank you guys for being 💯 percent HONEST.. They will get our business for his truck..

My car broke down on the side of the road right in front of this Auto Shop. It was sometime much after they closed and the owner came out and tried to diagnose my car. The next day he was able to repair my car for under $100 and stayed after hours to finish it. Such a professionally ran company, I will be returning and recommending them to others.

Straight shooter in the area so far. Courteous. No ride home or pickup even in my own car though, which would have been nice.

Chuck was friendly, courteous, and professional. I thought I needed brake work done, but he showed me that it was just rust on the rotors. He showed me my brake pads, gave me a timeline for when I should have them and the rotors replaced, and didnt charge me for the quick inspection. Will definitely be going back when I need the work done.

I called and received an estimate to replace a heater core for $650, which is in line with another estimate I received from another shop. I told them I would think about it, and a few minutes later they called back and asked why i wanted it repaired; if I did not have heat, or because it was leaking. I told him it was leaking and he told me i could just cap off the lines to the heater and I would still have A/C, just no heat. It is an older vehicle so this was an easy decision. The part is not real expensive, it is just a lot of labor, so this shop gave away income to save me money. If you want an honest mechanic, look no further. This is my new auto repair shop.

I recently had a incident with this company about my vehicle. It’s kind of sad because me and my spouse dealt with this company before so we trusted this business was legit. My vehicle needed a new engine but it was a last minute situation so when the owner of the shop Chuck Hoover stated it was ok to leave it until we came up with the money we did so. When contacted (as he stated to call once we were ready for the car to be fixed) the owner lied numerous of times about the whereabouts of my vehicle which ultimately left me no choice but to contact authorities. Mr. Hoover then told the authorities that he had my vehicle impounded due to abandonment and stated he would put a lien on my car for storage fees. I never abandoned my vehicle and he never reported this to authorities until after I filed a police report! Mr. Hoover and black jack towing tried to steal my title! Beware! I am in the process of taking every step possible to report this company and the towing company for everything they have taken me through.

Rude Lying Mechanic. This place is horrible if you need a transmission. Especially as a woman. He told me he personally repairs them or he told my boyfriend and then come to find our it is a junkyard transmission or i can buy one from jasper.
