Ordered new tires off Amazon. They were delivered and installed at pep boys. The whole process was easy and quick

I went to Pepboys three days ago because my battery was dead and was continuing to die. When I went in I recommended them that it was the alternator that was at fault, but I was not sure because I am not a mechanic and thought they would be the professionals and qualified to see what was wrong with a car. I was so wrong. They then told me it was the battery and charged 200 for a replacement of the battery which was not even the issue of the car. Now my car refuses to start and I am down 200 dollars. Please for the love of my car never go to this place to get your car fixed I am a better auto shop then them at this point

Location is sooooooooooooooo slow like come on now. I’ve been waiting for an hour and STILL no improvement. All they did was take out the tires and they did not add any new tires for the past 20 minutes.

Quoted on the phone from this and another pep boys location a cost of about $70 for a mobile 1 oil change on my jeep renegade. Both locations were aware of my year make model and engine size. Showed up for my appointment to be told the cost would be about $120. Asked why it was almost double, employee told me the oil was euro, they had to go get it and the filter was $19.99. This information should have been easily available when I made the appointment otherwise not sure why I would have to provide my year make model and engine size, right? Rated 1 star for being either unethical and trying to overcharge purposefully or for being completely pointless in taking the necessary information over the phone to give a completely inaccurate estimate and wasting my time. Decided to take my business to tires plus in the same plaza for the same oil change for $69.99.

This location is always slow!Ive been going to Pep Boys locations for over 20 years and this location always seems to be overwhelmed & slow to move. Theres no such thing as getting in and getting out.In the past couple years, every time Ive stopped by for a simple something or an oil change, they asked me to make an appointment and come back in a day or three. Even after making an appointment, you can find yourself standing at the front desk for 10 or 15 minutes before anybody responds. And they can easily be running an hour behind for your appointed time slot. The truth is, this location is always understaffed. They have 6 or 8 bays to work in but usually only have 2 auto techs on. And forget about calling ahead to make an appointment. They have the worst phone system ever invented. It will loop you through a dozen different prompts and still no one picks up to answer your call.In my opinion, Pep Boys needs to get this location managed correctly or close the location.

BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION! The assistant manager of this location tried to charge my wife for mounting and balancing after we had already paid through Amazon. They also severely damaged my wheel and then tried to deny it. The manager was rude and condescending.

I was told by two other people this place was honest and so when I had a flat tire I called them. One of the people who recommended it was the guy who came to put my spare on who had taken his tire to them. Carlos, the shop manager was helpful over the phone and got me in immediately even though it was a Sunday. The mechanic too was professional. Instead of trying to sell me a new tire they found it was a nail puncture and were able to repair it. This shop is clean, well-run and the prices are right. I noticed that the appointments ran on time, since I saw how Carlos treated the other customers too. I highly recommend them.

435 PM Sunday August 6 2018. In Florida road hazard fashion, my tire found itself punctured from a screw Im the road along Park BLVD.So I turned north on Seminole Blvd... First place would not spare 10 minutes to plug the tire. A other places were closed. Next was Pep BoysI was in and out in 20 minutes. They gave me a 10% military discount. Total cost was about $21.00Torque was set 140 ft lb with a manual torque wrench. I thought this might be a little too much to break honest... I hope I dont have issues when I need to get them off in the future.

Clint Prieto at this Pep Boys location in Largo Fl was fantastic. From calling and making the appointment to getting there and getting everything done he and this store establishment went above and beyond putting on new tires and getting my car aligned all with a price so reasonable. My Grandfather went to a pep boys 4 tires. So I know they have been around 40+ years. They are dependible.

Wow! What an amazing mechanic we met at Pep Boys (10:30m Sunday) today! When stuck in a bind with our tire pressure- this man came through for us! All 4 tires suddenly had low pressure and we were worried, but when asking for help from this mechanic he solved our problem quickly and easily. During our time with him he was nice, knowledgeable, and put our mind at ease. What a great guy! We cannot thank him enough!

The staff are courteous but that can only go so far. I brought my truck in for new tires and alignment. I asked them to inspect the truck. They simply reported that the truck couldnt be aligned and they didnt know why. They did not give me an alignment report. By happenstance I got a nail in the tire of my car just a few days later and because of how courteous the manager was I decided to let them plug it. While they did have a good price they damaged my rim, $300 if I wanted a replacement from Ford, and neglected to tell me. Additionally I attempted to contact corporate for the managers contact information rather than complain directly and they told me to just call the store. Seriously? Pep Boys has a bad reputation as a franchise and now I see why. There were other issues such as their online scheduling system. Overall, I will not be returning to Pep Boys and I do not recommend them. However, two stars for courteous employees.

I came an got an oil change an my car is flashing needs oil change even though i just got one from you guys dont think they even did an oil change when i picked the car up it was in same spot never moved when i got back. Oil change sticker dosent even match my odometer in the car. I will not be a return customer now that im in my 700 mile trip i gotta spend money on another oil change

Clint handled my service of getting a vehicle pre purchase inspection. Affordable price, didn’t take too long, throughly inspected it and was able to do it in the same day!! I have zero complaints.

Brought my car in for an oil change. The manager explained that they would do a complimentary safety inspection/maintenance inspection and alignment check. I had time so sure why not? It’s free! The manager brought me out to my car showed me all the good stuff and what items needed to be addressed. And showed me the alignment print out. The dealership doesn’t do that. It was a pleasure to find a corporate auto service store being up front and honest. I got some of the services done that were recommended and I will be back to get the rest done next pay day. They even offered me a free ride home so I could wait at home. Awesome service and great experience with the staff!! Highly recommend!!!

Went in for an alignment and was told i needed ball joints... after getting a quote from them i shopped around to FIRESTONE, inquired about ball joints/alignment and received an alignment and recommended against replacing ball joints. feels like the tech didnt want to but the sales clerk seemed experienced and knowledgeable enough to know have known otherwise.... either way i feel that was shady

I was referred to this location after my nasty experience with their Pinellas Park location and how they couldnt fix my AC after several visits (see my review there).They, too, are just as unprofessional and unsanitary as their Pinellas Park location. The workers dont wear protective gear when speaking to customers (masks) and when handling vehicles (gloves).I called to see if my work car was ready to be picked up. Once they confirmed, I instructed for them to place my key in the car and lock all doors so I can pick it up later that day after hours. They agreed.When I arrived, both my car doors were unlocked with no key to be found! How unprofessional is that? My car could have been vandalized, robbed or jacked. This is a company vehicle, youd think they be more careful then that. At least double check if the doors are locked.Obviously, I cant drive it. So I locked up my car and left. I returned the next morning before work. I reminded the worker my request and asked what happened. He said the tech was trying to avoid homeless people from getting in and stealing my car. I promptly stated that the entire car was unlocked. He stated the tech must have forgot.Excuses and never an apology. Both locations, the service is horrendous.

I had my car battery go completely dead on me in a Publix parking lot. After multiple attempts to get someone to finally jump start my car I called Pepboys and Clint P. answered the phone said he had the exact Jaguar battery I needed and I could drive straight to the shop. I was in/out in no time. Clint is very knowledgeable at his job and definitely cares about the customers and because of him, I will continue shopping at Pepboys Largo mall location and tell all my friends about the excellent customer service!

Shout out to my local Pep Boys for yet again saving my day!! I needed a new tire near close with an almost flat tire and no appointment, they took care of me without hesitation. I can go to work tomorrow!! Gabriel was an awesome tech and I truly appreciate him not only staying, but having a smile on his face and telling me they are always there for me. Not sure they actually filled my tires with air. I had to take it to Costco. All 4 tires were low. I knew something was wrong. I bought my tires at Costco but Pep Boys is near home. I have my oil changes there. I figured I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I wont go back unless Carlos ( the mgr) is there.

Got 4 new tires ordered especially ordered for my Prius. They installed them and I bought a lifetime alignment package. I can bring the car in any number of times to have the alignment and rotation done no cost.

Stopped by for another oil change, battery was on its way out so we replaced it, too. I try to do as much local biz as possible and the gang at the Largo Mall Pep Boys are straight shooters.

I was helped by Mr. Juan Carlos. He provided me with all the best options for my issue. I had a screw in my tire and was told by another store that it could not be fixed. However, Juan Carlos laid out all of my options and made sure i was back on the road safely. He was pleasant, patient with all of my questions and gave awesome customer service.

Had emergency situation with flat tire. Refused service during business hours before close.

Wow!! Pep boys and crew did a phenomenal job with my oil change and were very informative to let me know what my car needed. They are very easy to work with and they care about their customers. They went above and beyond with quality and service.

This is an excellent, dependable place. They really helped me. The store manager, Carlos, is very honest & friendly.

Purchased new tires and had them put on on 8/3. As of 9/8, we have had to put air in one of the tires three times. Clearly something was done wrong. They won’t even look at it without charging us, much less fix whatever they did wrong. It was an absolute nightmare from the start and I didn’t want to go to them after the first phone call we made, but my husband made the decision. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I love these guys! I have come here for various issues and they are always kind, patient and accommodating . Customer service is phenomenal . They have bent over backwards in the past . This is the only place I go . Not sure where any negative reviews are coming from frankly as its been a top of the line experience every time . They treat me more than fairly and are always friendly. Always honest and never pushy. Highly recommend !! Len and and Nolan are always wonderful to deal with .

Let me say this, I have learned the hard way about auto repairs AND oil changes. Taking it to a shop like this due to they say they can save you money is BS. Most of these shops are not even certified to work on American or German cars. Backyard grease monkeys is all I have found. They hire people to just change oil with no auto background. So for total peace of mind, I will only take my car back to the dealer. The dealer is factory trained, up to date on the oil needed and computers etc. Plus you get real American and German parts, not some aftermarket junk oil or junk parts from the local corner parts store these guys markup 100% . The oil they use is garbage, you cannot even see them putting in it due to they use a hose that connects to a holding tank. You have no idea what they are using. The oil filter is some off brand trash. Save yourself trouble down the road, go back to the dealer! You might pay a little more, but you get peace of mind the job is done right, fully backed parts and they treat you like real people. I hate the corner grease money shops. The State needs to crack down on these ripoffs!

Woke up Sunday morning with a flat tire. We were able to fill it up enough to get to Pep Boys. We had just gotten new tires there less than 7 months ago and they had offered road hazard which we got. So we got to Pep Boys and got right in, they had it fixed right away and we were back on with our day. No charge to us! Nice staff and very prompt.

I bought Tires off of Amazon and had them delivered to Pep Boys. The entire process was hassle free and the Service I received at Pep Boys was excellent. When I dropped off of Tundra Truck for the tire installation I felt comfortable leaving it there. More so, Lynn the Assistant Manager treated me with the upmost professionalism. I was highly impressed with the service and how courteous he was. Exceptional service!

I was at the auto parts store next door and they were having trouble testing my battery (my battery is sideways, under a reservoir, and under a metal bar) so I asked if they could help me test my battery. I was willing to wait. I just wanted it tested to see if it was still working okay. The guy told me he was too busy and wouldnt be able to get me in until Sunday? (Two days from then.) I mean, yes, they looked pretty busy, but just to test my battery? I went back next door, they gave it another shot, and would you imagine, my battery was fine, and it took all of 60 seconds to test it. As I was leaving, the garage was empty except one car, and there were no clients. I wonder if they were really too busy to test my battery?

I made an appointment on-line to leave my vehicle yesterday(June 5)& they had ALL day to change the oil (June 6).I came to pick it and waited a bit to have him give me my keys. That did not really bother me, could see they were very busy.I backed my car out of the spot that THEY had parked it in, went out of the parking lot and drove about 1/4 of a mile unto a main road. As I turned the corner, I felt something happen under my car & then ran over a hard plastic thing with my back wheels. It was my front Cowling cover!! Thankfully, my husband was behind me & watched it happen!I pulled over & we rode back to the Pep Boys. Waited again for the guy to come back in. He proceeded to tell us that there must not have been bolts in it in the first place! We told him that THEY had changed our oil the last time & this would have fell off a Long time ago!I again waited for him to put the screws into the Cowling, which took approximately 15 more minutes. When he pulled my vehicle in front, I went to get into my car & he proceeded to tell me it was because I had pulled over the parking curb or ran over something!! I proceeded to inform him that THEY had parked my car & I did NOT drive over speed humps or curbs & this was NOT my fault!! He then said: Oh, well Im not really blaming you, Sweetheart! I proceeded to tell him that I was not his sweetheart... He immediately left.I am not upset that a mistake was made, I am upset that I was treated like it was MY fault.I will NOT go back to this Pep Boys location again. I would not use Pep Boys at all, except it is on my vehicles maintenance plan

These guys will always give you great service and treat your car like it were their own.I hadnt been in here since it was a Just Breaks, and most the team was new. But they were all professional and nice guys. Id trust them to give me a honest report about my car and not try to scam me for something I dont need any day. Needed two tires and an alignment, I spoke with Len Anglehairpasta and he quoted me a great price compared to other providers in the area, got me in that same day and in no time I was leaving with two new tires and a perfect alignment! The staff was super professional, and after driving my car, they made more adjustments to the alignment before letting me leave! I couldnt ask for better service -- great job guys! :)

Showed up without a prior appointment. Everyone working there was busy but Nolan still took the time to listen to the car issues and squeeze me in for an immediate fix at a great price. 3 times that I have gone to a store since I bought 4 tires with road hazard protection,the first time the tire had a big leak and I pulled in and was told I needed to make a appointment because they where all booked up! I went down the road and paid someone else to fix it. 3weeks ago I went in with a slow leek,same story make an appointment which I did, but guess what 2 weeks later same tire leeking again,same story make an appointment when I show up at 730 am with leeky tire. Road hazard is worthless and so is the shop

As someone who has worked in dealerships for the last 11 years and I will choose Pep boys from now on. Im not saying dealerships are bad but the level of service you get at Pep boys and the prices beat going to a dealership. The guys here are wonderful! Let me first start off with WOW! I had a battery that was dead and I couldnt find the receipt. I spoke with Len Angelaccio, the service manager on the weekend and explained the situation regarding the battery. Len advised me he would check on the warranty and availability of the battery and he would get back to me. I got a call the following work day and Len advised me they would fully exchange the battery under the warranty and there would be no charge. I will be using this location for my Fleet service account for my entire company. The world needs more people such as Len who genuinely care about customer service.Thanks again

This pep boys is awesome. I had a terrible experience at the Pinellas Park pep boys but decided to give these guys a chance and I am glad I did. They remember their customers and don’t try to up charge you on anything. Their rewards program is awesome as well! Definitely come see these guys if you want amazing service! Len gives the best service as well, talking to you while you are in the lobby waiting for your vehicle.

Sunday morning slow leak puncture to be repaired. I am out of state on vacation traveling from Virginia and I needed this repair done to get safely back home. At 9.30 I was the first customer and my car was put in and tyre taken off. Took some time to find the puncture and when it was found the tyre was taken off and patched from inside. Tyre was put in original marked location so it didn’t need balancing. All took about 30 min and to my surprise it was done for free. While I was there two other cars were taken care of for minor headlight bulb replacements. Great service and friendly staff - highly recommended. Glad I found the place.

Previous manager was awesome. I bought tires here, oil changes rotations etc. this USED to be where I brought my vehicles for most tire and wheel services. Current desk person wants to add things I never asked for. Tried to add an alignment to new tires. I tires not an alignment. Another customer walking out was grumbling about the same thing. Not even an upsell, just add and I have to catch it and ask for it to be removed. Smh I will not return.

Had an oil change after driving from Arizona to Florida.. No issues..Next oil change... And issues..Apparently we now have a very slow leak in our radiator.. Another leak in our head gasket. And oil pan.. And itll only coat over $1500 to fix....HmmmmAll that sense our oil change...Shady

I always come here when my baby breaks down or just needs some TLC. Amazing customer service and my car always runs perfect when we leave. They have always treated me so kindly and they never fail to make sure I am comfortable and happy with my service. They always explain everything to me perfectly (cause Im clueless about cars) and Ive learned quite a lot! 😁 I wont go anywhere else and I highly recommend them!

Honest and reliable no BS. They fix what needs fixed and dont add 10 extra things. I will be a repeat customer. Went to Goodyear they said I needed 1,800 worth of front end work. Pep boys did a 450.00 brake job problem fixed. THANK YOU

**UPDATE** This place used to be good. Now nothing but problems. Got an oil change, they stripped my oil pan AND drain plug. They bring me back this weekend for a new oil pan and they have had my car since 10am. At 1pm I call to check in. Almost done, waiting for sealant to dry. No problem, I wait two more hours with no update. It is now 3:30pm. I show up and my car is still on the lift with NO OIL PAN. Apparently the first guy Jacquel didnt put enough sealant on first go round and it started leaking. Now Kenyatta is putting the pan back on with more sealant but Im going to be here at least another hour. No one was going to call to let me know this happened. I finally received my keys at 5:07pm. They close at 6! How long did you expect me to wait with no update?? They tried to have me leave with no maintenance record. I had to request one. Waited 15 more mins for that. It was an infuriating and frankly embarrassing interaction. Incompetence at its finest. 7+ hours to replace an oil pan.

Took my car from Alaska here because I was having some squeaking with my brakes. They said they were fine but I ask them to look closer and they realized the brake pads were put on wrong by another company and fix them for a very reasonable price. Also made an appointment and they even got me in 10 minutes early. Staff definitely went above and beyond.

Each and every person conducts themselves with an exceptional amount of professionalism. They really listen to the customers needs, and are always dedicated to finding an affordable solution. I would recommend them to any of my closest friends.

I used to love pep boys. They have done my tires, a/c charge, and oil changes. Unfortunately the last time I took my truck to them to have my oil change they had stripped my cap so when my husband went to change to oil he was not able to remove it. Problem is they use pressurized wrenches and if you dont thread the cap correctly before taking one of said wrenches to it you strip it completely. Not saying I wont use pep boys again for something other than an oil change but that was pretty careless and potentially could have cost me a lot of money over something as simple as an oil change.

I had the pleasure of being assisted on a repair by Len the assistant svc mgr at Pepboys that went above and beyond, jump through hoops, and red tape of the extended warranty repair companys non-streamlined process of getting an inspector to come out and giving a so call non-bias second opinion to approve the warranty company to pay for the warrantied repairs. The added convenience of providing a Lyft service to drop me off at work was major considering it was my second week on the job and Im still in my probation period. My CV Joints was repaired and now I can drive with some sense of security that I wont flip off the interstate. Thank you again Len and Crew this is one of the good repair shops.

Ordered online three military 5 gallon gas cans to be delivered to the Pep Boys outlet in Largo on Seminal Boulevard at Ulmerton. After about a week I then called the store to see how the order was coming and I was speaking to Len Angelaccio an associate. After taking a while while he was researching he confirmed that he saw the order but it hadn’t arrived yet but would stay in touch. The next day I called to find out he was very excited they did come in. When I arrived to pick them up he said one had a shipping issue with minor damage. He brought me into his shop area to inspect the three gas cans and the one he said had some slight damage was fine for me it was nothing more than superficial. Then he grabbed some cleaning towels with solvent to clean all three gas cans from some dust and shipping marks... brought them to my car... and away I went... “a very, very happy happy ”customer”.Thank you Len and Pep Boys
