This is the best barber in Lansing by far. Brian does a phenomenal job and went above and beyond my expectations. I went in just wanting a simple touch up and he gave me more than that. He gave me one of the best if not the best haircut I’ve ever had. I’ll never go to anyone else! The atmosphere is nice and relaxed and very welcoming. I cannot recommend this place enough. I will definitely be a returning customer.

A friend recommended me a few months ago and I have had a great cut ever since. Brian does a great job at cutting my hair, possibly the best I’ve had yet.

They make it incredibly easy to schedule an appointment online with all the prices and services listed. Had Brian cut my hair for the first time and he did an incredible job. Hes very professional and keeps his shop clean. He asked me what I wanted and I tried to explain the best I could without knowing exactly what to say to get it right. He asked questions back about hair and beard to make sure he knew exactly what and how I wanted. Brian at Classic will be my new and forever barber shop thats for sure.

My husband has never been to a barber and this place has changed everything for him! He loved every minute of it, great atmosphere and Brian seemed to truly care and was very attentive. My husband looks amazing and hasnt stopped checking the mirror to see his cleaned up look!! Hell definitely become a regular, couldnt recommend this place more.

This review is not about the quality of the haircuts you get but the quality of the owner. I went to Brian Caskey for a number of years and even hung out with him a couple times outside of the shop. He made a bet with me for 1k that he initiated and I agreed to then when he lost the bet he told me he was notgoing to pay and blocked me on social media. We shook on this and he even asked to raise the bet to 10k which I declined. A bet is a bet and if youre not willing to pay off the bet you shouldnt be asking someone to make that bet with you in the first place. Anyway this is who the owner is a lier and a cheat. If you read this and still go to him then you condone this type of behavior with a customer. Please dont visit this establishment there are plenty of other barbers who can cut hair just as well with better character.

Rachel is amazing! Very easy to talk to was making jokes. Amazing cut and I had a mop on my head and this was my first time seeing her. I went in not knowing fully what I want and left loving my new hair. HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ANY MAN WITH CURLY HAIR.

Always one of the things I look forward to is my beard trim. Classic Barbershop really knows what theyre doing with beards (I see Brian, but generally good reviews on all 3). He takes his time and really assesses what you want, not just template A, B, or C. Great atmosphere, reminiscent of the Joe Rogan show at times, but more LGBTQ+ friendly.

I would recommend the classic Barber shop 1000 times over. This is the only place in Lansing where I would receive a professional haircut every single time and on top of that it is affordable and a very quality experience in itself. Top of the line fades here. Does a straight razor shave and line up. I’m very picky when it comes to haircuts but brian did an amazing job.

Being new to the Lansing area and being very particular about my cuts I am in need of a GOOD barber. Decided to give Classic a shot as they have pretty good reviews. Had a 10am appointment with Brian yesterday (Thursday). The shop is about 20-25 minutes from where I work/live so not too close. Received a text on the ride there saying he was running 15-20 minutes behind. Got there and then was informed he wouldnt be able to get me in until 10:30. At this point I am irritated as I left work for my appointment at 10am and was in need of a haircut for a meeting all afternoon that day and the next day. Received another text on the ride back saying Brian apologized and my next cut was on him! Awesome gesture and much appreciated, but I needed a haircut then. $25 for a cut (which I have no problem with for a solid cut) and appointments only they need to get better than that. Needless to say won’t be back as time for me is too valuable. 2 stars for the good gesture of a free haircut.

Had my beard trimmed here for the first time. Awesome results. Wouldnt want anyone else to mess with my beard. He took his time and made it look better than it has ever looked. Worth every penny and then some. Awesome vibe in the place.

Ive been getting my haircut by Rachael for almost two years. Im very picky about who cuts my hair. Rachael can read my mind and she knows what looks good on my fat head. The shop has a very curious look. 90s music is always playing and I feel right at home.

Since I am new to this area I have spent the last several months trying to find a good place to get my haircut. Then I found Classic Barbershop on Yelp and made the appointment online.Most my life when Ive sat down in a barber chair I get up disappointed. The result is just not what you wanted or tried to explain to the person cutting your hair.Not this time.I sat down in Brians chair (Owner) and he explained the process and asked what kind of cut I wanted. When he finished the cut he shaved my neck and beard lines. This man understands that a Barber is more than someone who just cuts hair. This is an experience. From the detailed haircut to the hot shave it is truly an experience.Ive NEVER felt this good about a haircut/shave.One word: Master.I highly recommend and will return as a regular.

Apparently getting a good medium fade haircut is very difficult in Lansing. Not at Classic Barber Shop. Impeccably clean, easy parking, awesome atmosphere, phenomenal staff. I get my haircuts from Spencer and he repeatedly gives me the best haircuts Ive ever had. Ive seen the work the other two barbers do and it is some of the best Ive seen as well. It is rare to find an entire staff that are the best in their field but somehow they have managed it here. It is the only place I will go.

This place is great! Chill atmosphere; blues and soul today. Tyler took his time, and his attention to detail is on point- highly recommended. Looking at other patrons’ cuts, all the barbers know what they’re doing. Great location and vibe. I will be back!

I started going to Classic Barber Shop shortly after they opened, and havent gone anywhere since. Brian usually cuts my hair/trims my beard, but I think Ive received cuts from all of the barbers at some point. Everybody takes their time with consultations to make sure you get exactly what you want and they are more than happy to give advice about styling on your own as well. Great atmosphere with a super laid back staff. Some people might be turned off by their pricing but, as with tattoos, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Ive seen some complaints about the appointments-only policy. However I learned they shifted to this policy pretty early on after business picked up. Personally I appreciate being able to fit my cut into my schedule without having to worry about waiting an hour or more (which you would if they allowed walk-ins) for the POSSIBILITY of sitting down with the barber Ive built a rapport with. Whether you are just looking for a trim or want to try a completely different style, this is the place to go. I get compliments whenever I get a cut, and feel like a million bucks every time I leave the shop. I recommend this place to all my friends, and encourage you to give them a shot too.

Went in for a beard trim with Brian. He did an amazing job. He cleaned everything up, and evened everything up. I never imagined that I would have a nice, and clean looking beard. Highly recommend everyone with or without a beard to come here. Very friendly staff, and clean shop. I will be coming back for my beard ttim/clean up in the future.

After being hassled by a few buddies about going to low end shops for basically forever, I figured it was time to find a real barber shop. Called in about 1pm, to set up an appointment at 5pm. Easy enough to find with a lot next door. Walk in and you know youre in a true barber shop and went right to my seat as she was ready for my appointment right on time. As someone who has always gone to Borics and the like, it was an amazing change to be in the atmosphere they have built. We discussed what I wanted, she quickly got to work cleaning up my mop of hair. Had a few suggestions to help w/ making it look a bit more clean up as she was trimming and it turned out great. Will 100% be back again, probably have a lifetime customer in me as long as they are open here in Lansing. Thank you Classic.

At 40 years old, Ive had my hair cut hundreds of times. The haircut I got from Jon Z. is the best haircut Ive experienced in my entire life. I cant recommend him highly enough. If youre looking for a truly great haircut, give this guy a try.

Went here a few times, awesome haircut. Brian is definitely good at what he does... unfortunately that includes canceling appointments. He canceled 2 of my appointments 20 minutes before hand. Other than that the conversation is good and the haircut is awesome. But unreliable service is something that convinced me to go elsewhere

You felt like you were talking to a friend and walked out feeling better. I am so glad I found this place. The decor is amazing, the haircuts are off the charts. Been there 3 times. He first time was a great experience got exactly what I was looking for. Second time was with a different barber. Did not ask me how I would like it . Classics is a place unlike most barbershops in the Lansing and East Lansing area. There is a great vibe and aesthetic that makes getting a haircut awesome. Spencer pays attention to detail on his haircuts, and takes pride in making sure his customer is happy throughout the cut. This barbershop is a place to go if you need a beard shaped up or cleaned up.

I would have given 5 stars, but the inability of the owner to keep scheduled appointments forces me to give only 2, since customer service is important. If appointments are required, I shouldnt have 3 out of 5 of my appointments cancelled in the past three months. If youre going to get a haircut, schedule with someone other than Brian. Brook or Jon give awesome cuts and dont miss their appointments!

Walked in thinking how cool the shop was; walked out thinking how cool I looked. This was my first time in like 12 or more years going to a barber. I was a little weary to begin with but damn am I happy. I got my cut from the owner and the dude was funny and interesting to chat with. Gave me that sweet “Mad Men” haircut I’ve been wanting for years but never could get at a salon.Listen to me when I say, if there is a bad review on here don’t pay attention to it. Personally I could not be happier with my hair 2 weeks later but let me say I haven’t looked as good as I did since I walked out when I looked and felt like the ****. (Sorry for the stars at the end, just an accurate description of how good of a cut you can get here)

Ive had some of the best haircuts of my life there. It really is the only place to get your hair cut in town. That said, Ive been burned 5 times in the last 2 years. Im just glad I didnt have a date or wedding or any other important event. Ive shown up a few times and the building is shut but the online system is still taking appointments. Im not going to go to Judes or Fantastic Sams. They need to be careful, because once someone else opens up a barber shop with quality and consistency, classicbarber customers will make the jump.

Brian is the man....whether is getting a full haircut, a beard trim, or a head shave, he knows what hes doing.Further more do you know how hard it is to ask a churn and burn place( borics, supercuts, judes, fantastic Sams,) to fade my sideburns into my scalp and not have them look at you like a Martian.The first time I went in there Brian new exactly what I wanted executed it masterfully.I am a regular and extremely loyal customer at classic.If you want a great barber experience from a master who takes pride in his workBrian is the man for you.

These dudes do know how to cut hair. They also can do specialty fades, for a little extra. However they are very spotty with appointments dont offer any wash or style options and are over priced.My personal experience- I went here religiously to see the owner Brian for a cuts every 2 weeks. The first time I was impressed. That was also the last time! I booked a few more appointments and things went ok, a little wishy-washy on scheduling. Then they switched to an online booking method. This is when I thought, this is good... more organized and easier! However when booking appointments and then showing up my stylist, the owner, Brian, was absolutely no where to be found! Hmm ok maybe once or twice but this happened 3 times. No phone call to tell me he was not in or to reschedule. No apologies, just a waste of my time to show up expecting a service and being ousted. All while having access to the new online booking schedule from his mobile phone!None of the other barbers showed any empathy or even offered to cut my hair. So I found my self a better more reliable barber! Look them up!!Studio One Hair, you wont regret it!

Brian could be the worst at time management EVER. Always checking his cell phone while cutting hair and always behind his schedule because of this. I waited 35 mins because he was checking his cell and complaining about other clients who wanted a style a certain way.

Dont try to book early in the mornings. You will get a text a hour before saying your appt is cancelled. It happened to me 3 separate occasions. Kinda funny for a place that prides themselves in appointments and doesnt take walk-ins.
