Brought in my relatively new vehicle with nice, shiny parts and had an inspection done at K and S. Vehicle had no problems until after a routine inspection kept getting deferred by the mechanic who kept insisting he was working in it. At the end of three days I finally got the car back.I immediately noticed there was more play in the steering than prior to my visit. On the second day, a tie rod snapped leading to a loss of steering and I was involved in an accident as a result. I had a different mechanic look at the car both for repair and to investigate the problem and he discovered that my tie rods came from a completely different vehicle and were completely degraded. Not at all consistent with a newer vehicle. He told me that it was likely that K and S is involved in a scheme in which high quality parts are stolen from vehicles by a mechanic during unrelated maintenance and replaced with parts about to fail taken from cars that recently needed replacements. This practice is a form of fraud and deprives owners of thousands of dollars in value without their knowledge. Most people just assume their car is a lemon when they start to experience failures.I am going to be much more careful going forward in light of this experience. I had no idea people would even think to do such a thing.

A routine visit turned into an 1878 dollar fiasco after what was supposed to be 200 dollars in so-called recommended work necessitated an additional 1500 of work. They, Literally cant stitch the car back together without replacing X, Y, and Z I asked if thry would be so gracious as to pay for those parts since the work was at their suggestion and was quoted at only 200. The owner became hostile and falsely claimed while screaming that they never quoted me the 200 figure.My car is now being held hostage until I pay the 1878.

Disreputable business. They will gouge you any way they can.

I recently had work done that was supposed to total 837.65 and when I went to the grocery store to buy groceries, my card was declined. I later found out that the charge for K&S went through twice and drew my account down to nearly zero. My gym fee bounced and I have at least one 40 dollar overdraft fee as a result of this. I am trying to get a refund through the BBB but I am told it may take weeks.Never take your car anywhere near this place. If it breaks down in front of the shop, tell the tow truck driver to tow it to the next closest place. Never trust someone preoccupied with their own honesty.

I can see that all negative reviews are being systematically removed. Thats a sign of an honest business. Before being overcharged for an oil change, I was given an unsolicited lecture by the owner about how honest he is. That should have been the last time I dealt with this crook. I subsequently used them for an inspection which should have been done by the end of the day but somehow took 5 days. I need my car for work and I cannot keep asking my wife to give me a ride to a mechanic to repeatedly pick up and drop off a vehicle five separate times. For a simple inspection. Stickers wound up being two days past expired by the time the work was done. The owner, when pressed for an explanation by the Better Business Bureau, was the first Ive EVER encountered who made derogatory comments about a complainant in correspondence to the BBB.

Final price is not the price that is quoted, something always comes up and instead of one labor dollar for every parts dollar, something like 75 percent of the costs are consistently labor related. What you think is going to be routine winds up costing thousanda because they decide to drive your car to timbuktu to drive the bill higher.

Went in for inspection and was told that I needed an alignment. I never noticed the car pulling, but I let them do it at a price of a little over 100. Post alignment, the car was pulling worse than it had ever pulled before. I tried to cope with it and just kept driving it that way for about 3 days and had a tie-rod completely snap on my way to work, resulting in a loss of steering while going around a corner. My car is only 2 years old so nothing should be rusty, and when I had another mechanic look at the mechanism it was consistent with a car several years older than my own. It would appear that this shop is pulling new parts out of cars while they have them in the shop and replacing them with junk parts on the verge of failure. They then use those newer parts which they dont have to pay for and insert them into older cars brought in by other customers.A big surprise is coming this guys way.

Great shop. Attentive and thorough. My car has been here multiple times, mostly for tire replacements and oil changes. Pricing is fair and they do honest work. They also specialize in small engine repair as well. I would recommend this shop.

This is one of those places where they will bill you to drive 20 miles to turn a check engine light off rather than just pushing a button to achieve the same thing, wont have the work done at the promised time and will lecture you about how they are doing YOU a favor. Beware.

Have been going there to get my vans oil change for over a year. Find them to be reasonable. Ken and the guys are always professional and provide great service.

Exceptional service. We had just had our mower serviced by another provider who didnt address the very noticeable engine issues preventing it from starting/running correctly. We then took the mower to K&S who diagnosed and resolved all of the issues so now that the mower is running better than new! Fast, great customer service, local family business - theyll be seeing a lot more of us in the future.

Ive been working on cars for a long time. However, there comes a time when you got the kids now and other responsibilities and you just dont have the time to knock things out anymore. That being said, my wife wants things out of the garage and so I called these guys to see if they could put some parts on and take some off. They were very friendly and said they would get back to me with a quote. Someone else called back equally as friendly and gave me a price. Not bad either. But being that I know how to do it myself I opted to make the time to get it done. If I ever am in a real bind or I am just getting too old ..lol.... from the professional kindness they showed.. I will go to them before anyone else.

Referred here by a friend. Happy I found the place, they are honest, reliable and quick. My husband, who swears by his mechanic, is switching to K&S as well. Very pleased with their friendly service.

Theyve never made me feel stupid with any issues Ive brought them. Theyve been super accommodating and understanding. I feel that they truthfully tell me whats wrong and give me reasonable prices. Totally trust them.

This was my 2nd or 3rd time coming here. It happens to be incredibly convenient to our house but I have gone back to them because the service is very friendly and great. Today, they replaced the valve stem on our odd-sized camper tire within 5 minutes for a very very reasonable price. I was suspecting Id be charged double what they charged me. So pleasant, great service and great pricing. They also offer to shuttle you if you need. Definitely encourage anyone yo check K&S out for their automotive needs. It just feels good to be able to give business to good people.

My truck had bad rotors on it and they found the problem and fixed it in the same day. I also really appreciated how transparent they were. They didnt try to sell me on the most expensive part and were very easy to deal with. Highly recommended!

I dropped my truck off at 8a.m. for an appointment I set up last week. I called at 1p.m. to check on my truck. I was told that it was being pulled in next. I returned a little after 5p.m. with no call to find out nothing was done to my truck. They did apologize but having it all day with an 8a.m. appointment and no service was done is unacceptable.

I will preface this by saying that my first inkling that something might be amiss with this mechanic was the 5-minute lecture about how honest he considers himself to be, which certainly threw up red flags. I only gave him a chance because my girlfriend was confused by the explanation given to her by a different mechanic, and so I made the mistake of recommending this place to my entire family.I didnt have a serious problem here until we recently tried to get our car inspected. We made an appointment and were told that it should be done by the end of the day. Clearly, this mechanic felt as though they had a lot of free time on their hands since theyve recently started fixing lawnmower engines in between the automobiles. Perhaps they bit off more than they could chew, because after having our car for 8 hours, the job still wasnt done. In fact, the first day they had our car, they didnt replace any parts and did nothing except fail our inspection. I urged my family member to take it somewhere else while they still had time before the stickers expired. They didnt heed the warning.After taking it back for a 2nd and 3rd half-day (half-days were the best we could do since the car was needed for transportation), the job still wasnt complete, and we were told it would need another full day. Bear in mind, all the car needed were tie rods, an alignment, a few new hoses, and the inspection itself. That 4th day wound up being the last day of the month. We initially brought our car in on the 20th of the month. After having the car all day, we were once again told by K&S that they couldnt give us the stickers because the car needed to be driven more to clear codes. I wound up having to drive the car around on my own with expired stickers to clear the code before bringing it back in a 5th time at which point the code was cleared and I got my new stickers. All of this cost me over $500.It recently occurred to me that in all of my dealings with K&S, the receipts provided never itemized the parts that were replaced or the nature of the work being done. Furthermore, K&Ss receipts do not even break down how much of the total bill is for parts and how much is for labor. I am fairly certain that mechanics are required by law to at least do this much. It looks like I did get my new tie rods, but beyond that, I have no way of knowing what work was or wasnt done. I was basically told that I was getting, A whole new car... and that I should be grateful that he is so honest.I should have paid attention to the reviews that were already posted about this place and stuck with my old mechanic, who I will be going back to. I dont want to see this happen to anyone else.
