Outstanding customer service, family owned and operated. Staff always willing to go that extra mile for you. Location also rents U-Haul and sells lottery tickets. Coffee isnt half bad either.

Jim runs a great shop; and Andy, his technician, is a terrific mechanic. I sincerely appreciate their honesty, which is a rare commodity in the auto repair business. They truly adhere to the maxim, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it - and if it’s broke, fix it right.” In addition to their honesty, I always feel they provide tremendous value. The work might take a little longer than other shops, but it gets done right - and at a very fair price. I will be using Da-Vals for as long as I own a car and reside in the area.

We were pushed into a U-Haul that was way too big for our needs (or to even fit on the small rural road we needed to haul to) despite reserving the size that would work weeks in advance. I called Da-Vals to see if they had anything. Even though they didnt, the person who answered took the time to try to search other locations for me. While they could not solve my problem, the time, attention, and support provided for a problem they didnt even create was very much appreciated. Way better than the other location we actually got our truck from. I will only go to this location for anything U-Haul related in the future!

When my regular mechanic wanted to charge me $3,000 to fix up my a/c in a van my family only uses a few times per year, i started shopping elsewhere. the dealer wanted to replace the whole system at even higher cost. then i heard about how Merck brings their vehicles to Da Vals, so i gave them a try. $200 later the problem had a nice big band-aid (which is exactly what i wanted) and the a/c worked perfectly. its been over 2 years and still no problems. theyve found a new loyal customer.

My experience was horrible. My Subaru Outback decided to break the front diff in the transmission on a Friday. So I towed my car over to da Val’s, where I was told my transmission needed to be replaced, and I’d have to give a deposit. I was told the transmission would have to be ordered and should be at the shop Monday or Tuesday, so the car would be done on Wednesday and if any issues I’d be called. On Tuesday I called the shop and was told the transmission was there, and Friday the car would be done, with no further explanation. The only call I received was on Thursday late afternoon, telling me the car was running and Friday morning my car will be ready. Having to rent a car till Wednesday, then having to rent a car for another two days, on Friday, when I was called about my car being finished, I asked why if my car being promised on Wednesday is now ready on Friday with no call to tell me about the hold up. The person behind the counter expressed to me, that my car breaking down was not his fault ( never said it was), and the transmission was in on Wednesday so he could not have started on the car. I asked him, then why on tuesday when I called, I was told the transmission had arrived. He then tried to correct me about the day I called, saying I called on Wednesday, after correcting him, he then said if anything he said he would start working on my car Wednesday. Knowing how long book time for r&r on a transmission for my car and being an ex-technician of over twenty years, I asked then why it wasn’t done Wednesday or at least get a call telling me there need for more time. No answer. He did, however, tell me of the wonderful favor he did for me, he stopped an exhaust shield from rattling, one I could easily pull off or clamp on my own. Great, after asking if there was anything he could do about the cost, since of the inconvenience of having to pay for the rental extension, the man looked like I inconvenienced him, saying no there isn’t anything he would do and that he did save me money from the quote. If this isn’t known, the quote is always higher so if problems arise the customer doesn’t have to called for a broken bolt. After realizing I could get further with the pen I used to sign the bill, I paid and received the finally surprise. Having my battery disconnected while doing the job, all of my radio stations presets were deleted, clock lost the actual time, and my trip odometer was reset.Moral of the story is, if you want to be overchargered, want to wait longer then promised, with no call, for a job half done, by someone who doesn’t really care about the car or customer, go to da Val’s, they will do all of the above with a smile. I’d rather give the review a zero star, but apparently that isn’t an option.

Dont bother with other uhaul locations. This was hands down the best renting experience Ive ever had. I know that sounds a little strange but of youve dealt with any uhaul locations before you know how important that is. Thanks for making something that should be easy, well, easy

I have been a customer of DaVals for about 25 years, until recently. I was having issues with the brakes on a used vehicle I purchased so I brought it in for DaVals to look at and fix. They called me a couple days later and told me all is good. I went a and picked the truck up and there was improvement but the brake pedal was still going too low. I dealt with the issue for awhile being that the brakes were locking up before so the problem wasnt as bad. I took it back to DaVals for inspection only to be told that the brakes needed to be fixed before it will pass inspection (they passed the previous year with them having the same exact problem at DaVals). I told them to go ahead and fix them. They replaced the master brake cylinder and did the inspection and returned the truck to me - the brakes were no better than they were before only now I had a $500 invoice to pay. After speaking with Jim, the owner, he told me they were having issues with their one mechanic, Gary, doing his job properly but they didnt want to let him go because they didnt want to pay his unemployment - hardly something you say to a customer. Then they went on about replacing the ABS module (the most expensive part of the brake system to replace). I said no way. Then they call me a couple days later talking about maybe being able to change some setting on the trucks computer. This is the point where I questioned Jim about the $500 invoice for replacing the brake cylinder that obviously did not need to be replaced and I asked him why I should have to pay for it then. After a bit of runaround I finally got the charge for the master cylinder taken off and after a bit more arguing I got the labor for it taken off too. After dealing with this business for so many years, back when Dave and Al ran it, I can see things have changed and not for the better. It really is a shame because I actually liked going to this garage because I felt I could trust them but that has changed as well. They are now just added to the long list of mechanics that like to replace parts that dont need to be replaced and charge the customer anyway - at least those that wont fight for whats right.
