I took my car in to have an engine exhaust problem checked. They found it was a broken pipe that needed to be replaced. They told me they could get the part in and install it for $180. Got a call later on that afternoon and they told me that there was a recall on that part and needed a new kit installed. The kit was going to cost over $200 just for the part alone not including labor. They told me that they would not charge any extra just the cost that they are charged for the kit. Thought it was nice of them to do this for me. They said they were sorry they quoted me a price to get it fixed and felt really bad about it being more money. They got the job done and I was very happy with their service. I was told it took them about 2 hours to install the new kit and they only charged me for one hour labor. They told me that they had checked my oil and solve my oil was low and topped it off for me for free. Great to see someone going the extra mile to help out their customers. Would recommend this place to anyone with car troubles. Very friendly and reliable.

1952 Buick Dyna-Flow finally bit the dust! Called around, got sky-high estimates and from one place, a turnaround time that turned out to be fantasy. Stopped in at Cottman / Lansdale and spoke to Manny. Left the car that day without a worry. (They kept it inside the whole time.) They quoted a reasonable price and stuck to it! There was a minor bug after it was done but they tracked it down, and took care of it. The car runs great now with no leaks. What a great staff there...nice, pleasant attitude, a willingness to cooperate and they get it right. Mannys partner Joseph, is an old-school type expert, too, patient and pleasant, just like Manny. Cant recommend this place highly enough. If they can work wonders on an old 52, they can sure know what theyre doing on todays modern cars. Dont bother with the vintage car, specialty shops. This Cottman can do it right. Give them a call.

No one ever wants to have a problem with their transmission. If you do the guys at Cottman transmission will definitely take care of you like family. I was informed every step of the way from diagnostic all the way through completion. John is very knowledgeable and he helped me make an educated decision on repairing my transmission. I will definitely suggest them to anyone I know who is having an issue with their transmission.

Can’t say enough positive things about Bob, Manny and the entire team at Cottman Transmissions. The level of service I received on the phone and in person was as good as it gets. As a single woman I wanted to find a garage I could trust and not feel like I was being taken advantage of (like I was at the dealer.) At Cottman they saved me hundreds of dollars and I received the most personalized care I could hope for.

As a college student, it is often difficult to find time for maintenance, but the staff worked with my schedule, made sure everything was done in a timely manner, and kept me updated on what they were doing with my car. We took our Volkswagen Jetta to Cottman when the air conditioning went. We were very satisfied with the service. The technicians are always friendly and very knowledgeable. We have been going to them for years and trust them with all our automotive needs, not just transmissions. Would highly recommend them.

Excellent service, knowledgeable staff and quality work.A transmission problem developed on my 2009 Ford Flex; it was slight at first but was getting worse. A local Ford dealer could not duplicate the problem. Bob, the manager, of the Cottman Lansdale location, worked with me. They drove the vehicle and the problem showed up. Due to the mileage and age, we reached an acceptable plan to rebuild the transmission and address the known TSBs for the transmission. The Ford now shifts smoothly and feels like it did when new. I highly recommend this shop if you have a transmission issue and need a good evaluation.

This is the worst place I have ever been too. I have lived in various places and this is hands down the worst experience Ive ever had. They charged me $100 to change a light bulb in my car! For a light bulb! Most places do that for free because it takes 5 minutes to do at the most. And then to top it all, these non-professionals tracked grease into my car all over the carpet and seat ruining it. Never, ever, take your car here! They are thieves for what they charge!Update-Dont let this fake customer service fool you. They seem so concerned and tell them to email them so it looks good to anyone viewing the post like they actually care. I emailed twice and they never responded. Dont let these people con you and steal your money like they did to my fiancé who they took advantage of. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!! They are liars!

My 2013 Nissan Rogue S was diagnosed with faulty torque converter by Art & Mark Auto in Norristown, PA. Even after two Nissan dealerships assessed it, it was Art & Mark who realized the problem and referred me to John at Cottman. These guys overhauled my transmission, completing the job by replacing the crank position sensor.John and crew were knowledgeable about the engine, working methodically (in 90+ degree weather, I might add) to get the car back to the owner. On this deal, I played middle-man. The car belongs to my niece, but the negotiations were handled by me who lives in Maryland. For me, even sight unseen, they treated me as if I were on-site; keeping me apprised of their progress every step of the way. Though a first-timer to this business, I’d highly recommend them for their service, honesty and regard for meeting a deadline. Too bad they’re not in Maryland!Happy-in-Annapolis,MD

Cottman wanted to drop my transmission which would of cost $550 just to figure out I had a clogged filter that was making my transmission fluid pump make a very loud whining noise when my vehicle was started from cold. Once the fluid got warm from driving the noise then went away to allow enough fluid through the filter. I took my truck to Meehans transmission right down the road in Lansdale and they used a stethoscope to figure out what was going on. I guess cottman didnt apparently want to actually have a listen and figure out what the problem was. Long story short the noise went away with a filter change and fluid flush. Go to a locally owned business here in Lansdale at Meehans where they dont have sales quotas to meet and can do the work needed not unnecessary work just to line their pockets.

Honest and knowledgeable mechanics with competitive pricing. Brought my car in for engine problems and they were able to fix it quickly.

Schemed me out of my transmission for labor and did absolutely nothin if you exclude running out my whole tank and depleting my entire battery because thats all they did
