This was my first time using Giant Direct. When I arrived for my pick up and called, they asked if I reviewed the substituted/out of stock items on my list. I did not get an email and couldn’t find anywhere on the app where I could review them so she reviewed them quickly over the phone. I approved two substituted items (by name and price) and declined one substituted item. She did not tell me there was anything that was out of stock. When I got home, I reviewed the receipt and noticed there was one item out of stock (that I now have to go back out to get since it was a main ingredient in a recipe) and the one substitution I declined was still on my receipt (I will have to wait and see if they remove it when they put the final charge through). Also, it’s important to note that when they make substitutions, they do so by price, not by size. They substituted an 11oz item with a 1.75oz brand name item because it was closer in price to my originally ordered 11oz item than the larger sized brand name item. This makes a huge difference! They also charged a $2.95 pick up fee (and 0.18 service fee tax) even though I used the $25 off coupon code which was also good for a free pick up so I will have to call them about that. I guess I would say using Giant direct was worth it this one time because of the $25 off coupon but I will not be using Giant direct again.
Excellent delivery times either arrive before and on-time. Attendants are ALWAYS courteous. Giant Direct has a wider range of products available where other food delivery services do not.
Ive never had one problem with them. All the delivery people are great, its EXTREMELY helpful when they bring groceries in or walk them up to my door but I get it that they really dont have to bring them up. Every now and then they dont items because of not being in stock but thats rare. And if I dont hear them come in, I get a quick call to let me know. Its a very good service .
Website from Initial search needs to be more accessible. I was looking to see if they carried 1 specific ingredient for something I was making. Initially their website made it difficult to find but once I got through to be able to search for it they do carry what I wanted.
The online experience is TERRIBLE. It took me just as long or even longer to search for items online then it would have in store. It was over 30 seconds to load for each item. When it did finally load it took forever to select the items as well. All in all I took me over an hour and half just waiting for my computer to load and process everything. The most infuriating process. Once you get through the whole website issue the pick up is smooth and amazing. The team works with you. They just need to update/make the online experience better.
I used to rave about giant direct. In the last year they changed drastically. App has tons of glitches and customer service has no interest in fixing it. My produce shows up spoiled more often than not. It’s a huge let down. Do not pay for this service.
This is a mixed review for me. The first time I used giant direct is because of the quarantine we are under. I am so thankful that giant has the option for pick up or delivery especially during this time. The pick up location is labeled and the girl that brought out our groceries loaded them directly into our trunk, she even Clorox wiped down the papers we had to sign which was awesome! But the negative part for me was the sheer number of plastic bags they used. I was worried when I thought they might use plastic bags but shocked to see how many! I attached pictures for reference. My suggestion to giant is to think of more sustainable options like cardboard boxes or an option to pay for it to be packed in reusable bags.
Just moved to the east side of Lancaster and this Giant is the closest grocery store to me.. since the covid, everyone knows going out shopping is risky and a lot more frustrating. Being able to order online, use my coupons and pick up what I selected on the same day has made everything so much easier and a lot of stress off my mind. The best part is that they are very communicative and kind. Every associate Ive dealt with has treated me with the utmost respect and even more so for their colleagues, which I love to see. Highly recommend this staff for your grocery needs!

I have been a customer of Giant delivery service for many years. Over the last few months, delivery has been horrible. Its a crapshoot as to which driver will bring your food in and which will not. I understand with the pandemic, there are some issues with that but the sole reason I use this service is because Im disabled. Recently my driver dumped all my bags at my front door and left. My eggs were broken, I had to call a neighbor to come and carry my food up the steps for me and some of my items were not delivered that I was charged for. In addition, I have been receiving terrible produce thats either rotten or moldy. Its extremely frustrating when you depend on a service that does not deliver as promised. While Im used to not knowing which items I will not receive until the order actually gets here, its even more frustrating to not receive your bags of things that are supposed to be there and the driver cannot return with the bags. Im very disappointed with Giant and I hope that things improve soon.
A delivery marked as delivered must have gone to the wrong house, when I called customer service to inquire they transfered me to sex talk line, after I called back they hung up on me
I was on hold for 15 mins while they brought peoples orders out before mine. They only fellow that was working tryed putting food in my car that wasnt mine. When I called the manager he said he would be out and didnt come out ......lets get it together......
Did not receive everything i ordered but was on the list inside the bag. I called the delivery number and they argued with me that, dispatch said you never ordered that item. I said how is it on my list and they said it wasn’t on my list. I called customer service and they said we will not re deliver the missing item to you. They advised me to reorder that item and pay the delivery charge again.=Horrible service and horrible customer service, never use this again
I use the flashfood app to buy discounted groceries from this location. Always fresh and they bring my groceries out to my car!
This place does not practice social distancing. They dont even follow the proper health requirements and I dont know why people order from here because I dont even think the workers wash their hands when they come in. The managers talk to their workers like they are kids. I dont know about the afternoon managers but the morning ones like the tall bald lady is so disrespectful, The old white lady and the other short lady that comes usually on Wednesdays or Thursdays are nice.
As a disabled person, I love the option of having a groceries delivered or having someone pick them up for me. My only problem is that when someone picks them up, everything is put into paper bags instead of plastic. The paper bags have no handles which makes them very hard for one person to carry. Please give the option of paper or plastic… Thank you
I have been using Giant Direct for my pickup at store grocery orders for about two months. The selection on the website has been good, but unfortunately Giant Direct randomly removes items you have selected with no notifications through email. You only find out if you constantly monitor your order and keep adding them back in. It is very frustrating to need items and the company determines what you can order and then recieve. I see no reason they cant leave the products in my cart until they actually shop for what i requested. If they are not available at the time they shop the order, that is one thing, but when they remove the items (even though they are still available to add on the site) it makes it difficult to keep up with what you are hoping the shopper will shop for! I dont buy the excuse that they know they will be out of stock before the day they actually get the order. Even if that is the case, leave it in my cart so I at least think you will look for it!!!
Do Not Use Giant Direct! Before I left home I checked my order and everything looked fine. I arrived at Giant to find that they did not even start looking for the products yet. I waited half an hour for ten items. This was only 10% of my order. I went into the store to complain to the manager and she stated that they do not have to fulfill the order. She said the groceries were gathered in the morning which was a lie and that items may have been sold out by then but the sales clerk told he they just sold out in the past hour.They need new management!

The last 2 times have been absolutely horrible. Moldly produce, busted open packaging with missing item, crushed cans of soda and wrong items. They tell stuff is out of stock but you can walk right in and get it. This past order we had a pick up time of 8-9. The order wasn’t ready til 9:30.
First time using grocery pickup service and it was fantastic! Curbside crew was very friendly and answered all my questions. Everything was placed nicely in paper bags (not plastic). You can still use clipped coupons as well. Giant Direct defiantly has a new loyal customer.

Terrible experience! Not going back! 6 items were missing & we tried to call customer service. After being on the phone for 30 minutes they just disconnected. The one item that was missing was milk. Now I have to go to the store for that. I might as well just went there in the first place & saved my delivery charge & tip.
I have been considering using this option for convenience. I was hesitant about the thought of someone else picking my produce but I figured I just needed a couple things to complete a recipe for that evening. I signed up for text alerts and my pick up time was between six and seven I never received a text notification that my order was ready. I called at 7 o’clock and they said they couldn’t explain why I didn’t get a text alert but my order was ready. A couple items weren’t available and a couple items were substituted.....that is just a learning process on my part. But once I got home and found my organic celery was missing a Whole heart, was limp and in very poor condition and I was frustrated. And the Natures promise cherry tomatoes were pale and tasteless. I would recommend utilizing this service for non fresh items Only. I am attempting to post photos of the celery to support my remarks but I can’t figure out how to do that on this review.

After being a customer for well over a year, we are done with the service. Every order is now wrong, many are outside of the delivery time and last week one of the bags was completely soaked. The customer service has completely fell off and they really dont care anymore. Calling to complain doesnt help. It is sad what happened to them, it used to be great.

Absolute disaster trying the online service. I placed three orders, two of which were cancelled, after charging me and never arrived. On top of this inconvenience, I spent over two hours on hold with the company begging for my refund. I don’t know how they’re even in business with these practices.

I use Giant powered by Peapod often. I am very busy and this takes the hassle out of shopping. They do have a down side. Every order I do not get something I ordered. I do not have to pay but it will always be something I have to run out and get which defeats the purpose of having your groceries delivered. Also my bananas are always beat up.
I love giant direct powered by peapod they are such an easy convenient option for my family and our grocery needs I go up there and get some delicious cantaloupe as well as my meats for dinners and my carbs and proteins and dairy a like I truly love this delicious incredible experience and when I pull up at the time that they asked me to I just call the number and tell them what lane I am in and boy O boy do they always have my car ready to fill her up I just pop my trunk and they fill her up in no time thank you peapod see you next time

I decided to try it, since I live in a sort of food desert. I ordered over 24 hours in advance. They still showed up 2 hours late and it looked like they put my bags on a roller coaster before they brought them in. I thought this would save time, but it actually cost me more time than just going and picking it up myself. Only use it if you will starve to death without it. Wish I could give less than 1 star.
The ordering experience was ok- the negative is that their system is down for maintenance a lot!!! It has been down for a whole day and no one seems to know how much longer it will be down. When it is down - you cannot modify your order. My hope is that because the system has been down for over 24 hours- my whole order may be in jeopardy.
Back then it was still Giant Grocery store. Meet up with my daughter several times there. Used to shop there occasionally.
Its a good place for quick end of the day shopping. It isnt overwhelmingly big. Its clean and has a good staff.
It has gone down hill a bit, prices have gone up, less low cost items, more brand names,but very good employees.
The entrance is cumbersome, you have to walk all the way around a long aisle to reach checkout when you first walk in. Selection is decent. Fairly good service. Not the best of Giants, yet far from the worst.

I have been using the Giant grocery store for my entire life basically. And can usually ALWAYS find what I need.
Went to buy a couple of things and to get se baby food with WIC checks as well. The cashier was very nice but was having trouble scanning things. He called over his supervisor(she had red hair with tattoos) and each time she helped him she was EXTREMELY rude. She even threw my jars of baby food as she was scanning them. Bottom line, dont work at a grocery store if you cant handle any type of transactions or customers. NEVER going to this location again.

Walked up to the register to make my purchases from a cashier named Margarita. I was not acknowledged in any way, no hello, no did you find everything you were looking for, just complete silence. Immediately upon finishing up ringing my order, she tells me my total without looking at me and looks down to her phone to view the latest Facebook posts. What has happened to normal general pleasentries like hi and how are you today. Whats wrong with people today, are we the customers really bothering you by buying products from your store so you can get paid a salary and take care of yourself. If I could give zero stars I would because there was zero effort.
I live in the city and wanna shop here but this store desperatly needs a remodel. city shoppers deserve nice stores too and it looks like they wanna run this one into the ground!
Its a very nice friendly store. They always have what I am looking for even if I need something cheap or on sale too.
Even if you order your food days in advance, they will be late and your food will be thrown around. I had to unfold burger patties for 5 minutes before I froze them. Looked like somebody threw them out their car window on the freeway. Wondering how such a big company can be so unreliable.

Delivery is not actually free. Look at onlines prices compared to instore prices. You will pay at least a dollar more for most items online. Buyer beware.
