They make a pretty decent burrito. Have a lot of handy food stuff. Nice patio.
Worked all day in the hot sun from out of town. I stopped in this place to grab a bag of chips and a drink. Instead they offer a full cafe menu. To my surprise I had the best Philly cheese steak sandwich. This was the best food anywhere for miles.
Really nice people. Little convenience store out in the middle of nowhere. Clean restrooms!
What a great little travelers market. All kinds of stuff in there. Gas pumps and a cafe too.
Not crowded and clean bathrooms. I wish I had stopped here instead of in Mojave on all my past trips. They made a fresh put off coffee for us. Gas prices were computable to others in the area. Absolutely loved it. My new go-to gas and snack stop when travelling through the region.
Stopped for something to eat and had a great Philly cheesesteak
Everything you need in this otherwise pretty empty area
Drove by this place 50 times in my travels before finally stopping. Great atmosphere and a great menu. Will come again gladly.
Cute little place with all kinds of odd and delicious snacks.
Neenach Cafe & Market is situated in the land of poppies, at least once a year, and solar farms the rest of the time. But thats alright. We live up in the High Desert, where the sun shines all the time. Stop by this awesome place on your drive on Hwy 138 between the I-5 and the AV Fwy(14 Fwy).Besides a well-stocked market, they provide gasoline and propane(5 gallon), which is great for the weary travelers. They also have a cafe. Stop in and say hello!
Friendly family owned minimarket/community center.. had a little bit of everything for traveller...
Totally dig this little flat out in the middle of nowhereish. I picked up a beer and a burrito and shield on their outside patio. Super enjoyable people were rad. They all they also have an outdoor event area with ample parking! Perfect for a special event quinceanera or even a wedding!?A little gem in the desert!
The other market seems to be a lot cheaper. My biggest pet peeve are stores that dont have prices on anything. Just think if you went into Best Buy or REI and nothing had prices. The main reason they dont is cause they dont want you to see how expensive everything is ($20 for 12 Coors, $15 for BLT with fries, $6 four locos, etc.).
Awesome people that really care about their customers and it shows in all their efforts. Great food. Good prices. Nice place with interesting insights to local history.Update... I stopped by with my wife for lunch. She, having never been there, was very impressed. We were greated with great warmth and welcome by a whole new crew that I was unfamiliar with. Not the phoney, hi welcome to Walmart, Subway or such but real, from the heart, gladness. It instantly changed not just our day but our whole overnight trip. Awesome kindness, people and food and, we discovered more of the place than I had previously known. Ill let the pics speak for themselves.
Great service, kind and courteous employees.
Very friendly staff. Lots to choose from.. very welcoming experience..
11-13-18 Another fine Burger and side salad. Thank you Neenachians.10-23-18 Pizza... At 0930 in the morning 👍👍. Thank you Neenach Market. Only place I know of you can get pizza in the morning.(I remind the reader that the hamburgers are hand patted patties. 👍👍👍)9.5.18 Today a double burger (no cheese) with everything. Photo enclosed. Yum.8.18.18 OMG. Im telling you now, this place makes the best burgers. Today I got a hamburger with everything (no cheese) Soo good and A BLT. The BLT is on a really good bread (toasted) look at the photo, the bread the patty beautiful tomato and onion. Thank you to the Neenach store crew. 👍👍Second visit...I ordered a hamburger (no cheese), and fries. The burger was excellent, a chubby patty cooked like home. Leaf lettuce generous tomato and onion slices. Grilled bun. The fries are really good, they are kind of gourmet without being pretentious. Lol.Nice and cool inside the store. Lots of groceries at good prices. Kirkland brands too.First time there. ..Home cooked food. Nice market.Lots of glass bottled soda. Ice cream. Sandwiches and a café.
The staff and owners of this establishment deserve the highest of praise for helping my husband William in an emergency. During a shutdown of the grapevine, because of a huge storm he was forced to spend the day and night on their parking lot. While he waited out the storm, his car broke down too...worst night ever. Owner Jay and his family helped him during their very busy day with whatever he needed. He had to go in and out of their shop many times needing help, and they always asked if he needed anything else and tried to help him the best they could. These are quality people and we will always remember their kindness. Not to mention the great home-cooked food at this family operation. Thank you so much from William!!
The Neenach Cafe is literally the only stop for miles in any direction on Hwy 138 between I-5 and Palmdale. I stopped in on a windy freezing night. I would have to call it an eclectic place, part gas station, part market, part coffee house and part cafe. The store owner and the cook were really nice and there was a great selection of items on their menu including lattes, breakfast burritos, philly steak sandwiches and more. The made to order breakfast plate I picked was huge if a little bland. It was dark out but their patio area looked like a comfortable option in different weather.
Had chicken burrito, was dry very little chicken. salsa was hot but lacked flavor.
Overall I like this place just a few things I would change very pricey on some product that seem excessive giving that some product has been on the shelf for a while. They should host sale event to move old inventory for new and uphold the quality to justify the pricing.
Ok i understand they are in the middle of nowhere, but do they have to.charge almost $1 over the normal gas prices in the area? I.guess when you know you can, you do, but still... everyone always trying to rip off. However the workers are always pretty cool so therefore the 3 stars.
Thank GOD this place was there and OPEN because I was out of gas !!!
Great snacks, good gas.
Nice place you can get a bite to eat and gas. But over priced
Stop and eat. And enjoy the fresh air..and the open views.
They have everything in terms of essentials. The cafe portion is yummy, I like their carne asada fries and pork tacos.
Nice little gas station with a Cafe that served Mexican food, sandwiches, and sides. It has your main essential items and they also had a hand wash station near the entrance of the store which was nice since I stopped there after ATV Riding in the area to grab something to eat.
Came through late night on the drive down from up North and I am so happy that the gas station was there. I was almost out of gas or thank God thats here.
You got to love the people there
Great ole fashioned truck stop. Excellent service. Good place to take a break and get some eats and a cold drink before hitting the I-5. Loved the $2 tacos
I love the food here. We go every once in awhile and it never fails to satisfy. Well priced and delicious food. Always worth the drive.
Good food at the deli and hiker supplies
Lots of supplies packed into small store. Great road stop!
Hi, wow have to tell yall this place is way the heck out there. The wind was blowing gales of dust to where you can hardly seeand then this little store which is rather nice very nicely kept nice people gas was five bucks and $0.19 a gallon for the cheapest gas ouch . Anyway remember if your way to hack out there and kind of getting concerned about your gas theres Neenach Cafe and gas. Happy roving
They have the best breakfast burritos! 🌯Propane, gas and diesel ⛽ as well
Great service and food
Its a wonderful little market and cafe! The food is giant sized the burgers are 1/2 pound of meat seasoned with Montreal seasoning, Patty puts alot of love and detail into her cooking...there is a good variety of options..a new chef came on and I know she has years of experience and is going to add some nice touches in the kitchen! It is old school, fresh and hand made a gem in the desert!
Was driving home to Highland, CA, from Dinuba,, CA,, an hour from Fresno. My GPS gave me the longest route ever and I was lost, I was tired, and hungry!!! I came across this wonderful little place in the middle of the desert in Lancaster! I ordered a burrito (BEST, MOST DELICIOUS, MOST AMAZING and I ate half of the burrito in the parking lot and Brought home the other half to my husband. He LOVED IT!! He loved it it so much, that we are going to have lunch with family and friends coming from White Water Rafting at Kern River. It’s my husband’s 63rd Birthday. Thank you bunches Alex
My wife and I have been running hard the last few weeks so many meals are on the run. So we see this little gas station/cafe/market so we stopped. We did a bit of shopping and ordered a burger from the menu. If you ever find yourself driving past the place do stop in. This little place down the road has one of the best burgers we ever had.Enjoy.As always, safe travels America and be safe
Many different items from many different places
Loved the chicken fingers here. Relative to most roadside stops, the feel is very personal. Also, they had a great journal of hikers who had stopped here. Nice lounge are for eating food. Quite a few flies...
This place is way out in the middle of nowhere, they had no gasoline but they did have diesel, in-store prices were little steep for things like soda pop, but when the nearest restrooms 20 more miles down the road its a nice stop
Great Mexican food
Little place in nowhere. Friendly and quick. Nice little patio outside to take a break before heading back out onto the road. Theres a little food counter here where you can order a burger and fries. It takes a little while for your order, but its worth it.
Great conversation and family feel. Food is very good also. Real home feel!!
Very nice people. And there hamburgers are awesome. Real hamburger seasoned to perfection no fillers very tasty.
Cute Store and place to stop for goodies and gas
Great food and very friendly. A group of about 30-40 PCT thru-hikers arrived at the cafe during a rainstorm, and the proprietors/mayor opened up the facility to us and gave us a wonderful experience, letting us spend the night there to dry out our stuff and get out of the rain. It is definitely a must-go-to place for PCT hikers.
Place to really enjoy
I had the breakfast burrito here and it was the best Ive had. They fuel is high-priced however they saved my butt in a pinch I was fully loaded with my trailer and there was no other stations in sight and my fuel gauge had malfunctioned and I actually had no fuel when I thought I had half of a tank in my auxiliary had they not been there it would have been a bad day. Also the people that work there are very nice and helpful. The only downsides I saw with the business were the price of the fuel being a little higher and the diesel pump even though it was a large commercial-size nozzle it pumped very slowly.
Clean. Clean all the way around. Great friendly service and, did I mention clean? I highly recommend stopping in on your next road trip. Family friendly and easy access to parking.
Vacation destination! Hidden out on 138 between Lancaster and Gormon. A tourist mecca!
Fairmount Market Store is very nice and clean store. Great management. Very accommodating manager. Price of merchandise is right. I also play lottery here whenever I pass the store. Oh by the way, dont forget to order the fresh sandwiches, specially the overloaded turkey sandwich, delicious than Subway :-). Will highly recommend!
The management of Neenach Cafe were extremely helpful to me with the gas pumps. This Cafe/gas station is in the middle of nowhere, so thankful for them. Also café and restroom were extremely clean!
Great bacon burger, they have a crazy double super burger, its absurdly big. The bacon burger is bitchin, nice quiet area to look out at while you eat. A good midway meal tween the 5 and the 14. Plus, chances are, no one you know has ever been to Neenach.
Love this place! Always stop here when traveling/driving by. Their food is always fresh and so delicious! Great service, nice little cafe. Everyone ought to try it out.
Great little cafe with a small dining room off to one side, super for a quick & fast meal! Fast and friendly service, offers hearty comfort foods like carb laden french fries smothered in meat sauce or hungry man burgers, down to a grilled cheese sandwich or fancy salad. This is a perfectly acceptable road side stop for food, especially given your lack of options close by. You can view the kitchen contents and food prep from the sales counter which is always a comfort for me to verify acceptable hygiene. You getting more variety than a fast food chain and quite honestly a little more assurance on kitchen hygiene with one chef and not ten food preparers to make one burger.
Had everything I needed, snacks and a place to pee.
Nice to have a local, neighborhood place that makes awesome home cooked foods. Their soups are awesome. Is very convenient when traveling on in West Antelope Valley along the 138 (w Ave D)...through Neenach.
I love that store is it excellent good place to go!
The worst experience! We stopped for a bite to eat on our way home from our awesome road trip. Ordered our meals and and waited 45 minutes to be told that they messed up in our order because a large group came in and after waiting another 10 minutes, they refunded for one of our burritos because they messed up on the other???? What? To top it off it was my moms order, and its Mothers Day! Only good thing was the complimentary ice water they offered us after waiting 30 minutes in the hot sun! GRRRrrrrrr....
Not big on amenities but food was delicious. Hot Turkey & provolone was great.
Normally I dont stop here but I was running really low on gas...it was a lifesaver! Its in the middle of nowhere. I used their restroom. I was pleasantly surprised...it was so clean. High five to Neenach Cafe & Mkt!
The store in the middle of almost nowhere so if you need something its there for you in and out while youre on the road pick up what you need great friendly people and if you need a meal breakfast lunch or dinner they will serve that to you as well and believe they also have a bar there need a need a beer or wine order up cozy place to be
Old candy high gas very exspensive
Great food for a convenience store. Great mom and pop shop. I always stop on my way thru
On the home stretch from a long and sweltering hot (over 100°) weekend motorcycle ride, the Cafe was truly an oasis! The food looked greats, the drinks were cold, and the service was top-notch. Just what I needed!
Price gouging locals. Extremely overpriced.23.00 for a large pizza with only three toppings with a Costco ready made crust. Plus takes over an hour to prepare even when they are not busy. Sub par pizza at an outrageous price.
Nice little place to get a bite in the middle of nowhere.
I had 2 beef tacos. Very good. Also bought can of Pringles and a coffee. Prices are in line. Great ladies working. Hi linda
Just passing through. Clean restrooms! Super funny and pleasant gentlemen behind the counter. Good job keep up the good work. Your place is a rarity.
Cuz its the only store in neenach
Sandwiches are good & people there are really friendly
The customer service was Awesome. I enjoyed the pleasant, friendly atmosphere.
For being in the middle of somewhere...you will be pleasantly pleased with the food available..its a great stop while traveling between Gorman and the antelope valley pleasant service and great prices.
Its a clean store. The restrooms are very clean. Its out in the middle of nowhere, so it was nice they had icecold drinks. I love the friendly staff and the music they were playing.
Very clean. Very awesome people.
This place is the best stop for food and a feel good environment! Perfect small nook to stop and grab a bit to eat and the restrooms are great and now my hands smell like sugar cookies from the soap 💞
The breakfast burrito was huge and delicious. They have plenty of snack food items, but not many essentials, especially if you are hiking. Great respite from the desert. They will pick you up at Hikertown every hour on the hour.
Nice friendly and clean
Stopped there for air in my tires and they were very friendly and accommodating.
So thankful to be able to get water and use the restroom while out in the middle of nowhere. Very clean and comfortable.
Being a local out here in the desert i come here and rely on this place alot more i wish i did i know of a handful of the people who work here that are really cool. But for ONE the prices need to drop! like if i had the gas to go to town i could get everything they have over priced at the 99 cents store. And TWO! That new Aisian Guy with the glasses is a JOKE! I know a few others other than myself who have or had an isseue with. Thats my opinion
Kind people but food services could be a bit better
Pork chop was not edible... My dog didnt even want it..... Mash potato was also gross and its pretty hard to mess up mash potato ... over all quite expensive for none edible food
I have never eaten here, though I feel obligated to write this review. A few weeks ago my wife, two young kids, dog, and my in-laws were driving from Oregon to Southern California. Their car died near the café and the owners and staff were VERY helpful in assisting them take care of the situation. Having your car break down on a very hot day in an unfamiliar area is not exactly ideal, but I feel as if the car broke down in the right spot given how kind everyone was to my family. Thank you for turning what could have been a terrible situation into something better.
Very friendly ver polite very clean very thoughtful great food. Very happy we stopped here!
Freakin incredible breakfast burrito, the gentlemen there were both extremely nice, will definitely stop in again, also salsa tasted home made and incredible
The quality over time has dropped. I have ordered the same food a few times and it has always been made different. Burritos have gotten smaller, steak mixed with ground beef to give less steak in the burritos. I think this stop on my drive has been crossed off.
Great home cooking food reasonable price also a story can buy anything you want in there just about friendly people good old Mayberry
It has a new owner hes fixing the place up drink alcohol there now has a small bar could use some pavement outside have some pretty good food there to eat lunch dinner breakfast cook fresh homemade
