Absolutely stellar staff! Highly recommended! I’ve completed 2 of 2 overnight appointments, and the staff was fantastic both times, day 1 was with Christina (amazing) and day 2 was with Coral and Lawrence (amazing). On both occasions I was set up for success and left satisfied with what we were able to accomplish. If I could do it over again, they would be my first choice. If I could give advice it would be to arrive tired. I made a point to be dog tired on my second visit and it was so much easier to sleep that night. I don’t have any advice on billing, Tricare seemed squared away on that side of the house, but it seems like insurance is a frequent comment, so recommend having that all lined up before day 1. Good Luck!
Ive been treated so well by American Sleep Medicine. Staff is friendly, helpful and responsive. The doctor is caring and listens to you. It was a difficult journey for me to find a place that contains empathy and respect for their patience. I found those important qualities and more at American Sleep Medicine.
Im not familiar with the staff at the facility but I work for a PCP and have had the pleasure of interacting with Frank on several occasions. He is very knowledgeable of the services they provide and is genuinely concerned that the patients are receiving the best service possible. We hope to continue referring patients to American Sleep Medicine and working with Frank!
We researched before scheduling a sleep study for our 4 yr old. We ended up booking here because the hospital prices were outrageous and unnecessary. We are so happy we did. The nurse that our son had was amazing! Everyone that we encountered was so kind from booking to leaving. It was clean. And comfortable. Dad could sleep in the bed which was fantastic. We almost didnt do the study but so glad we did as it confirmed tonsils/adenoids had to go. Wish we came to American Sleep much sooner.
Frank is an awesome physician liason, he is always knowledgeable and professional. Always willing to help. Great patient care.
Baptist Neurology love American Sleep Medicine. The communication between our office and the staff is fantastic.
Fantastic people work here. Love it
I participated in a sleep study to confirm I had sleep apnea, for around 600$, then the results where that i needed a follow-up to get my CPAP pressure number for a additional 700$ study. My results were delivered to me by a random nurse Ive never meant and to speak to the doctor would require an additional appointment. Its just a scam place trying to charge you as much as possible. Not a place to help and heal, just a business, focused on money. Trust the overall reviews.
Very Poor Doctor. He is difficult to work with as well as harassing. I will never go back there...
Friendly staff...great doctor and they help me sleep quietly...my wife loves them too.
Practicing doctor is a little creepy. I am a male and he made me very uncomfortable Billing practices are quite shady. Was billed for total after insurance cost at time of exam, instead of the coinsurance cost like i was supposed to. Process to getting the refund processed is painful and their billing dept is not very professional, and will attempt to deceive you with a barrage of technical terms. At least the office staff are nice.
I did an overnight sleep study and everyone here was extremely helpful and friendly. They put my anxiety at ease and gave me a plethora of information. Definitely would recommend.
Staff is very friendly and went above and beyond to facilitate me. They explained what was expected from me before ever scheduling my sleep study. The technician was awesome and helped me calm my nerves. Highly recommended.
Danger! They would not tell me how much my sleep study would be but said not to worry only a small down payment. After they sent a $80,000 bill !! Yes thats right 80k for one night study that was not very helpful anyway. Stay away from this fraudulent company
They seemed pleasant. However, upon actually dealing with them, they became a nightmare. The company they work with is a completely shady company and they charged me fraudulent charge after fraudulent charge. They didnt follow through on a single thing they agreed to. They billed me for over $1000 worth of products and services that were never rendered. I ended up filing a complaint on them to my insurance company.
As a service member, my interaction was brief. I received my machine, had a quick familiarization, and that was that. Tess Butler is knowledgeable and proactive when it comes to the diagnostic results from the machine and adjusting it to your needs.
Not only is this place a business of scamming insurance companies (why our insurance rates in America are a disaster), this place has been charged and found guilty of MEDICARE FRAUD! Hello, these are not honest people and the doctors they hire could care less about you, the patient, but are more concerned about the cash they are overcharging you. They pride themselves on moving faster than any other sleep lab to get you in and out with a diagnosis but the real reason is to get you in and out before you know financially what the heck is happening. I have had five sleep doctors and the doctors at this facility are in my opinion hands down the worst I have experienced.Personally, knowing a former employee at American Sleep Medicine who is the most honest and caring person I have met, went thru hell trying to do what was right Instead of correcting their corrupt procedures they sent their regional manager to get rid of the employee! Then they fired the manager for firing the employee wrongfully. End result: they sacrificed the regional manager to get rid of the honest emoloyee. Sick company policy. Unethical in every way.If you are concerned about honesty, integrity, and patient care, this is the first place to never go and support. Run away from this sleep lab. Go anywhere else!!
I wanted to select no stars but the system does not allow. This place is not legitimate. They claimed that two family members were diagnosed with Narcolepsy, given medication only to have another sleep study done by a legitimate facility five years later and told they do not have narcolepsy. I paid bills and 5 years later they report you to the credit bureau and claim you did not pay your bill. I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone looking for sleep disorder answers.
Great people. Very professional.
The best. Dr.s Bagnoli and Salah are the best Pulmonary Doctors in town!
Not sure why the rating is so low. Just had my sleep study everything went well staff was very nice, bed was clean and comfortable.
Their ordering process is ridiculous. On more than one occasion Ive called and placed an order and it was not shipped. You have to call twice once to place an order and again so they can tell you it wasnt shipped and how its someone elses fault. I believe the name of the representative is Teresa and they have another phone representative thats incredibly hard to understand. Terrible service terrible products. They wouldnt ship me a new mask after the one they sent me had a bad gasket around my face. I have to hope I dont stop breathing in my sleep for the next 5 days. Thanks American sleep medicine.
Horrible communication and process. They do not listen and I feel they are more focused on getting paid than helping their patients. Sorry, much better at Jacksonville Sleep Center with Dr. Nassar.
They sure do know how to make you feel comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. The staff here was great!
Staff very kind and knowledgeable and easy to deal with.
Terrible experience. This location over-billed my insurance. It was for 1 night home study, I picked up the sleep device on Friday with an agreement that they will bill only 1 night even though Ill be returning the device on Monday.(The location is closed Saturday and Sunday). But surprisingly they billed my insurance for 3 nights(Friday, Saturday and Sunday) ..They are just here to steal money from others
Make sure you get everything in writing… when they told me the sleep study was $1000 I thought that was the final price. Two weeks later a bill I get another bill.. the doctor had to read the results… Really!!
Went there for sleep study. After both appointments, met with doctor who told me my sleep apnea was so bad that he could not prescribe a machine for me. They still want there money though.
While the staff that worked with me were friendly and helpful, the overall experience was not great. Very much left both my husband and I feeling like its all about the money, definitely not patient care.
The worst sleep facility ever! From scheduling sleep study to the technicians and dealing with the manager I believe her name is Lori Lopez (very rude lady) this place should be shut down ASAP!
Great staff!
Cured my snoring problem...my wife is so grateful.
Please do not go to this company - it is extremely unprofessionally managed and borders on committing fraud. I went in for a consultation for a sleep study with a Doctor that was listed on my insurance in-network. After the appointment we set up a time for a sleep study. They claimed they ran my insurance at the time, although they asked again for my insurance information when I showed up the night of the sleep study. They never informed me that although the doctor is in-network, their sleep study facility is out of network for my insurance provider - that comes into play later. During this whole time I confirmed the full rate for the sleep study at the time of $900 - As the rate that they charge from someone without insurance because I wanted to understand the price of the service and because like all places they dont want to tell you the price in advance until after they bill your insurance. Regardless this should have been billed to my insurance provider. The night of the study they had some technicians working who said they couldnt run the insurance - they never said their facility was out of network. So I paid out of pocket with an FSA Visa card so I could do the study at the time. - $900 up front. So about 3 weeks later I go on my insurance providers website and see that American Sleep Medicine tried to bill my insurance provider for over $7,700 for one night of sleep study AFTER I already paid out of pocket in advance of the study for the amount we agreed upon ($900). My insurance provider says the going rate for this service in the area is only $860 - American Sleep Medicine will then say I owe them the balance. So then I get on the phone with my insurance provider (by the way because it is virtually impossible to get on the phone with American Sleep Medicines billing department) and they are able to reach American Sleep Medicines billing department in Jacksonville, FL. We have to go in circles for 2 hours about how they billed twice (I paid in advance recall for the entire service, then they bill insurance afterwards for $7,700), why, and then have them refund my FSA Visa $900 because they should have billed my insurance provider only and not me at the time of services. I CONFIRMED with them on the call that they werent going to be coming after me for a bill of $6,700 difference. Well, you wont guess what I received a bill for today in the mail? It is for $6,700 (the difference of what they claim I owe for a one-night sleep study). I am going to have to go back to their billing department on Monday and also file a complaint with the KY State Attorney Generals Office and with the KY Medical Board because this outrageous the way their company operates. It will take me a few hours to gather all of the documents but this company is atrocious! They think they can double bill, change the agreed upon pricing, and shake people down for over $6,700.
Good center but as some places go, the service isnt always as good.
3 months in. Still no machine. Copay after copay. No machine. Im done.
Dont Walk away, Run... This place just cares about getting $5,000 Authorized from your insurance Company for the overnight Study. My Primary Doctor sent me here as it was an option on my BCBS Insurance Policy. I had fell asleep driving and needed the Sleep Study, however after 2 Overnight Sleep Studies, yes 2, because if they determine you dont start Abnormal Sleep within the first Couple Hours of going to sleep, then they let you sleep all night, instead of Waking you and fitting you with the CPAP Machine. This Tactic allows the Center to get Paid 10,000 instead of the 5,000. You want to guess how many patients need to come back for the Second overnight sleep study? The patients that have a policy that pays for it, and they will know after you fill-out the 20 page intake form. Oh, and if you might have Narcolepsy, then you will need a 3rd Study called a MLST and they can get more money or attempt to get more money. I am not happy with the Greed this center and the owners/doctors have turned this into, I do believe their equipment diagnosed me accurately and the Techs that helped prep and monitor the Study were very nice. The specific issue I had was with the main doctor at the Center, Dr. Jack Salah, he told me that I stopped breathing up to 90 times per hour and that I had a Severe case of Sleep Apnea and that I should not even be driving until I got medication to get the Daytime Sleepiness under control. When I shared this with my employer, they required a APS Attending Physicians Statement from the Sleep Center Doctor; Dr. Jack Salah. When I requested the center Doctor to fill out the form for my employer, he repeatedly refused, stating that that was something that my Workers Compensation Doctor should do??? I was not even on Workers Comp. After repeated request the Doctor finally filled out a couple of questions on the Form but left the main ones unanswered and my Employer would not accept it at all. The Center had me fill out 20 pages upon intake prior to my sleep studies, but when I asked for them to fill out my 2 page Attending Physicians statement, it was like pulling Teeth! I finally went back to my primary care doctors office and they filled out the form based on the Sleep Study report and that allowed me to get my sick pay for missed work days finally. In addition about 3 months after the sleep studies I received a bill for approx $3,500 saying that it was my responsibility and that it was patient responsibility as my insurance had paid all it was going to pay. Possibly an additional test preformed an MLST test they had pushed me into to rule out Narcolepsy. Well if they knew the insurance was not going to pay, why push the patient into the test? I have since been to another Sleep Center located within an actual Hospital and compared to American Sleep Medicine, they were like Ritz Carlton Hotel, not one issue with Billing, APS or any of the issues I went thru at the American Sleep Medicine on Belfort Pkwy in Jacksonville, Florida. Please do your research and find out what options you have for Sleep Studies prior to settling on this place. Youll be glad you did.PS: I normally only take the Time to write reviews of good experiences or excellent service, however this time it is a Negative Review, in hopes I can save another patient the time and trouble that I endured at this Sleep Center.
Terrible place to go they are not concerned with the patient at all its all about the money when you have a problem the doctor I was seeing does not listen or shows no concern at all for your condition I have been on CPAP or 20 years its got to be one of the worst places I had ever experienced
Explain everything clearly.
I went to visit the Dr. office in 2014, how they collect payment is the worst Ive seen. Took them 3 years to somehow notify me via email how I owed a measly 45 copay for the Doctor reading my results, which sucks but whatever. My complaint is why the hell it took 3 years just to contact me they have my number on file, what Doctor dont? Apparently only info they had of me was my email which took 3 years for them to send that out.
