Go to the register before sitting down. Parking can be found near whole foods or the pizza place next door. Get there early, this place gets slammed around 9am, especially on weekends. Expect to spend $20 per person, per visit.Food is always amazing, throw a dart at the menu board and youll always land on something youll love. No matter how busy, the food always looks and smells delicious.Im not much of an early morning drinker, so I cant say anything about their adult beverages, but their coffee is always great, especially their drip coffee: theres only one of three places where I can drink it black, and this place is one of them.Staff is always friendly and funky, they also sell local art. Be sure to tip them, they deserve it!
Wow! We were staying at the Hyatt across the street and I was in the mood for breakfast and a good coffee, out my window I saw the French Press. My bf and I walked over and were delighted by the substantial menu. When our food arrived we were dumbfounded by the breakfast burrito the size of my head but also the freshness and mouthwatering taste. So much so we had to return again today to explore more of the menu; once again we were thrilled. Not only are the prices reasonable compared to most breakfast spots in Denver but the food is irresistible! The staff is also very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be making this a regular breakfast spot now moving into the area!
Met a couple friends for brunch here. Took a few scones w me. Which btw were AMAZING!!! They were like; crumbly. Idk how to even describe the texture. Other than I loved it. They were too sweet and were a good size for their price. With the vegan biscuits and gravy the only complaint I would have had was that one of my friends got the same thing and portions weren’t the same w both plates. I saw she had wayyyyyyy more greens than me. Like I hardly had any. Either way. It was still good. And I’d go again
Staff was so rude upon arrival. Cashier snapped as we asked for certain items gluten free. Asked what can I order gluten free, and was told with an attitude, pretty much anything on the menu. Then asked the waitress, excuse me? Do you have sugar free syrup? She want to the back, came out with the syrup and just dropped it on the table and walked away. She was so rude. I will never go back to this place. Thwy are so rude to people there.
Rule of thumb for us when judging a new spot is if the menu is really large, the fare will be okay and this holds true here. The staff has been super friendly the two times I have visited. Their coffee is just okay and their food is average. They do accommodate certain requests such as creating a breakfast sandwich on a croissant bun. I think with their location, they really should have more to-go sandwich options such as biscuits to cater to the clientele. With so many other shops in the area, this place has a great potential to be great, its just not there yet
Most epic breakfast place. Coffee is out of hand delicious. I had the French Press Dip and it was to die for. The side of creamy horseradish was on point. I couldnt ask for a more satisfying breakfast. Id give it more stars if it were possible. Aside from food the atmosphere was incredible. Awesome music volume and genre. Super clean bathrooms. Pets are welcomed. Met all my criteria.
The food is pretty good. However, the order and find a seat model is not what I expect from sit in dining. This used to be one of my breakfast rotations, but will not be in the future. Also, when it is 80 degrees, close the doors and turn the air on. Again, not what I expect from this establishment. Didnt butter the toast and didnt provide butter :/
We are from out of state. Awesome selection. Burrito was good. The almond 3 leches very good.
I had the almond tres leches french toast this time and it was incredible. I had the crab Bennie last time I was here. Also incredible. They cook their eggs perfectly. Bacon was delicious. Coffee was wonderful. I will come back here again.
Was heading to adventure minni golf..the monster in the back of the car being monsters and being wild..I deserved coffee and in a last ditch attempt to find some .. before we hit advebture time with no caffine..I found the french press..OHMYGOODNESS it was one of the best coffees I have had in awhile..and then I saw their baked goods .they all look so delectable..I am absolutely going back to try those..I got a creme brulee iced latte ..and even my non coffee drinking spouse ..drank my coffee 😅🤬 it was delicious..the staff was all very pleasant..whatever theyre doing here..theyre doing it the right way and I will absolutely be back
Very busy but efficient for a Saturday morning. Food well made. I had the lox bagel, and the salmon and capers were very generous. Tip the staff; theyre working under extreme conditions!
Great atmosphere and art. The friendly and considerate staff made the experience even more pleasant. If thats not enough, the food is top tier! I cant wait to try each thing on the menu! Do yourself a favor and get in here asap!
This is the first time trying this place.. I ordered online this morning for takeout. I ordered a burrito with no meat and the bennies for my partner. When I got home, the burrito was full of bacon and I couldnt eat it. $8 went to waste plus the tip I gave them. Reading some reviews, doesnt look like this is the first time they havent gotten the order right. Very disappointed.
I dont like the order at the counter and leave a tip. I have been here a couple times and the gal at the register is not pleasant. Almost down right rude. I only go back because the food Id good. But the want you to ut the tip on when you pay before you sit and get your food. In all my experiences I didnt get waited on at all. They brought me my drink and food and that was it. I had to flag someone down or get up and ask every single time I wanted something. The food is not always really hot either. The people that work here just dont seem happy at all. Its a cool location in Belmar.
I went there this morning. Sunday morning. Have to make a review....Its not actually a two star place its better than that, but the rating is too high so Im doing two stars....When I ordered my breakfast burrito and small coffee cashier rung up a medium coffee without explanation. I asked and it was clarified, okay, there is no for-here small coffee. Kind of annoying not having that communicated. I would have asked for a to go small of I were given that info....And then they gave me most of my change... And didnt feel like it was necessary to give me all of it??? I would have tipped better if you hadnt tried to steal twenty cents from me... (Tipped 1.20ish instead of 2.20ish on account of this)...Then I waited about forty minutes for my breakfast burrito.I cant help but assume it just never would have came unless I actually asked for it....When the server brought it to the table was there any mention of anything? No. It was simply dropped off. Youre welcome....Its not a two star place the reality is its better than that, but not today!!!...Try it out! Ive had better experiences there. This was on a weekend.I wont be going back very frequently.....(Originally I wrote this and gave one star. That wasnt entirely fair, so I changed it. And edited review a bit.)
This was a great place at one point in time as I have eaten here many times since they opened many years ago. I will not be back after a far from good experience today. Food was overpriced and cold. I’ll pay whatever if it’s done right but a 12$ cold eggs Benedict is unacceptable. The wait staff is rude and unfriendly! They didn’t greet us when we walked in and didn’t ever come back to ask how the food was. They just walk by and avoid making eye contact. So we definitely didn’t feel comfortable letting them know that the food we already paid for was terrible and cold. You are also expected to just know what their seating process is. I don’t mind ordering at the counter and finding my own table but a clear sign would be helpful. Or maybe a hello and a little guidance instead of leaving us standing there for 10 minutes. I gave them one star because they did poach the eggs correctly (I’m pretty particular about a properly poached eggs Benedict) and one star for a perfect avocado.
Fantastic food and coffee. Very reasonably priced for more food than we could eat. Great stop.
Nice cafe. Order first then sit. The espresso was nice. I had the avocado toast and the egg was overdone, was maybe 1/4 of an avocado, and way more bell peppers than anything. The tres leches French toast was thin but very tasty not overly sweet.
Tried to get breakfast but there was a long line ahead of me. So left. Sorry about that. I only gave 1 star because people eating outside, there food looked 👌 great 👍
We had a group of 5 plus a baby and had amazing food. The coffee was delicious and I would come back even just to take a cup to go. The food tastes and looks homemade. Seating is limited but the staff made sure to make room for us as fast as they could. Food came out instantly shortly after we arrived!
Great selection of food which has all been good so far. You stand in line and order your food then its a free for all to get a table. The wait staff seemed generally indifferent and brings the food but youre in charge of pretty much everything else FYI.
Delicious chai latte, attentive staff, and good food! (I ordered the huevos rancheros)The COVID prevention measures are a little confusing but it is clear the staff is doing their best with the volume of people dining. There are masks and hand sanitizer available at the front door just after walking in, and cute friendly signs telling you where to order.
When I first ordered takeout from here, the food was great, but today I was definitely disappointed as in several items were either wrong or missing. I don’t have syrup at home so pancakes without syrup is just not the same. The fruit cup I paid 4 dollars for normally has fresh fruit but this tasted like canned items. I spent 45 dollars on takeout which is the price you pay for convenience, but the quality should be better than what I was delivered.
The brunette heavier set woman at the cash register was incredibly rude! She seems like she hates her job. Someone with that attitude should not encounter customers. She is impatient, interrupts customers and is just plain hateful. Wont smile or greet you, hates answering questions. Dont waste your money here.
Nice little spot in the center of the town, so far the BEST crab Benedict(I added ham to mine) Ive had anywhere Ive been too... I know Im gonna be swinging by there definitely if Im back in belmar. Give it a try, they have plenty of other options as well. And Im just talking about the food.. their coffee is on another level as well.
The French press had a lot of choices for a gluten-free menu. We ended doing something light. I had a gluten-free blueberry scone. My husband ordered the chocolate crossiant and another pastry. The chocolate crossiant was a bit much on the chocolate. But the other pastry he got was just right. He was sweet but not overly sweet. Great little find. The staff was nice and helpful.
Love this restaurant and no matter what location I visit its always a solid option. I havent had a dish I didnt like this far. Today I had the Lox Salad and I must say the salad portions are very big. Dont sleep on the French Press!
I agree with the negative feedback about the rude staff. They are not friendly and do not seem happy working there. At times it took a very long time for a coffee to go and it wasn’t even that crowded. Besides the pancakes, my food hasn’t been that great either. I gave them a few chances but the bad attitudes def. is a deal breaker. Get it together French Press. People are noticing your poor customer service. You should have fixed that a long time ago. Don’t go overboard and actually put smiles on your faces.
What happened to this place? As we ordered food I felt like I was an inconvenience. I was wasting her time. No greeting what so ever, just What do you want?Asking for extra silverware or plate from another waitress, was like talking to a tree stump. Blank look, almost lifeless and confused.Food was good. But not enough to go back. There were 2 other waitresses that were awesome, sadly I didnt encounter them.
I ordered the poki salad and my friend ordered the quinoa salad. My salad had a generous amount of ahi on it and my friend was pleasantly surprised that they warmed the beans and the quinoa before putting it on the salad. Both salads were delicious and I can also highly recommend the chocolate Pop as dessert because it was a rich decadent chocolate while being small enough to enjoy thoroughly.
Very good! I was about to substitute items on my plate as well as some of my family members. My 8year old loved the food. If you stay at a hotel this is also amazing!!
Solid place to visit for a weekend breakfast stop. Nice variety of menu options. I had the vegetarian hash which came with a side of toast. Their bread isn’t baked in-house but from a local bakery. I also had a side of their traditional french toast. The vegetarian hash was flavorful and they cooked the eggs just right (over easy). The hash didn’t leave me with that heavy “I’m not eating a meal again until dinner time” feeling. The side of french toast is a worthy supplement to any breakfast dish, three pieces made it not too heavy either. Their honey butter is amazing and would love to have that on some cornbread or a muffin too. Their drip coffee is respectable but could be better. Between their menu, pricing and flavors, this place has potential.
Tasty food, if you get everything you ordered. I have ordered takeout multiple times through their Toast website. Unfortunately, today was the 3rd time that one or more items were missing from my order. It is really disappointing get home and realize I did not receive all the food I paid for, and to have this be a recurring problem. That said, I appreciate the vegetarian and vegan options they have.
Great breakfast spot, my only criticism is the consistently undercooked egg whites. It doesnt matter how you order eggs, youre gonna get runny whites. Very unfortunate considering the extraordinary quality of everything else.
Amazing, what a gem and not expensive nor crazy busy during the weekdays. I loved the patio
The mushroom pita is delicious, but the tomato basil soup keeps me coming back! I highly recommend The French Press!
French Press is one of our favorite places. The staff is friendly and experienced. The food is absolutely delicious and plentiful. I ordered a veggie omlette and it was perfect. We try to visit for breakfast twice a week. Yes, its that good!
A spacious little spot and the first place Ive found in years to get a savory crepe! The patio is lovely and shaded, and the lattes are nice & strong.
Honestly one of the most disgusting breakfasts Ive ever had. The biscuits were dry and inedible (barely even resembled a biscuit), and the bacon on the breakfast sandwich was so lathered in syrup all I could taste was sugar. Only reason Im not giving this place 1 star is because I was able to get the sandwich down my gullet.
Went here with a friend and my daughter. The food was great, we had the Almond Tres Leches French toast and a pancake plate with bacon (get bacon) and eggs. My daughter (3) loved everything, even the eggs and bacon. The bacon is thick cut and I think baked with brown sugar, very good. Coffee was good too and service was good as always
Really good coffee and food. Casual and relaxing 😌
As a resident at Belmar, I can truly say the shops at belmar need to up their game, and the French Press is no exception. It’s the only non-Starbucks coffeeshop in the area and so because of the ease of walking over with a newborn, I’m inclined to go here more than I would prefer. Without fail, every single time I have been here, the staff have been unfriendly. Just this morning I came in carrying my newborn, a baby bag, my wallet, and water cup, and was eager to set my stuff down so I could order and just relax. I said a cheerful “good morning” to one of the ladies who is always here (potentially an owner) and she responded with “you have to order before you set your stuff down.” So I proceeded over to the register to order, with all my things + baby, in hand. The lady at the register was also unfriendly and cold, and handed me a coffee with milk on the side and told me where I could fill the coffee. When I poured the milk into the coffee mug and left the rest of the milk on the counter (because I didn’t have enough hands to hold the coffee, baby, baby bag, etc), she coldly asked me to take the milk as well, either not seeing or choosing to ignore my struggle. The chairs and tables were uncleanly- the former having dust all over the corner seat and table having bits of syrup (and flies). If the staff here weren’t so unfriendly, that would make a huge impact of the negative impression I get every time I come to this place. Belmar needs a study coffeeshop that is 1) clean 2) has good coffee 3) doesn’t have a time limit on how long you can stay 4) allows you to pull out laptops (the French press doesn’t and has a 90 minute limit on staying) 5) doesn’t have flies 6) has friendly staff that help with the vibe, not hurt it 7) has a good aesthetic.
Wow, first time coming here with my gf. Great selection of breakfast items. Had the lox eggs benedict and it was fantastic. Tried the juevos rancheros and it was also fantastic. But the best was the gluten free pancakes. Had to be the best pancakes I’ve ever had. Super nice employees as well! Really busy for a Monday morning, it must be a really popular place.
Chai was good, gf crepe was hard and dry. Customer service was spare and unfriendly
The food is good but wow, the service here is garbage. Lady at the counter was so rude and when food was brought out it was thrown down, nobody asked if we needed anything else. When I went to the counter to ask for something the waitress was on her phone and acted like I was inconveniencing her. When I got my side they literally just threw on the counter and walked away.
My husband was ordering at the register as I went to save us a table. I was rudely asked to leave the table because “I didn’t order yet”. I of course got up however we lost a place to sit. 😞 In addition, the lady at the register is not very friendly. We felt uncomfortable and an inconvenience. Food was ok, but for sure not a place we will be recommending.
I love this place its my new favorite place to eat 😋
We just stopped in for some coffee. I had a very tasty latte, and the service was friendly. The place was quite busy (Wednesday morning at 10), so we had to wait for a table.
This place was amazing. I got the Lix bennie with a 3 stack of zucchini panckes. Lots of food and delicious! Will definitely come back 100% Also friendly staff, fast service.
First time back in a while. Food was good with the exception of a bakery item in the Cafe - it was old and dried out. Prices seem a tad higher as we paid almost $40 including tip for 2 breakfast plates, bakery item and latte. They dont have table service anymore but rather you order and pay at the Cafe cashier and then go find a table and they bring the food out to you. If its busy then its a bit of a cluster and its good to claim a table while someone else from your party orders and pays. We were not a fan of the new setup and wish theyd bring table service back. Some of the staff was pleasant, a couple were grumpy and pre occupied with texting in their cell phones. They need to work on their customer service especially now without a host seating people and assigned wait staff.
This place is my go to for breakfast! I always try something different but my personal favorite is their French toast. Their lattes are delicious & also offer boozy drinks which is always a plus. The staff is super friendly, they get very busy, especially on the weekends. I definitely recommend making a reservation.Enjoy!
Never had their food but they are very busy and efficient online delivery orders are on time and accurate!
The coffee here is good but the food can use some improvement. I built my own crepe and it lacked a lot of taste. The eggs were very overcooked, nothing had any kind of seasoning on it, & I paid extra for avocado just to get 3 tiny slices on the side. It wasnt terrible but I wouldnt return unless they step up their flavor game.
We had a great breakfast and coffee. I highly recommend this place.
Love to walk here in the mornings. It can get quite busy but the food and atmosphere is amazing! Great food and beverage selection, fantastic outdoor seating
Love the French Press, Belmar. Great environment, awesome food ... Everything Ive ever tried is very good, and super friendly staff. Highly recommend!!
Ive been going to The French Press before COVID-19 and I will continue to go long after. The food has always been affordable and amazing. The coffee is consistent and tasty: there is an abundance of customization options and the staff is willing to make suggestions on flavor combinations. As for the reviews about the staff being rude during COVID: I havent been anywhere that it doesnt seem awkward having to holler through masks or work through peoples confusion on where to stand or line up. We are all having to struggle through adjustments! The staff has continued to be quite pleasant while being rushed or having a few grumpy customers. Take the bad reviews recently lightly as people cannot read someones face when they are unsure of the tone. It is easy to call someone rude when we start to all look hidden from one another in public. If you love potatoes you will hard pressed to find better ones than here. The breakfast burrito machaca style is large, yummy, and very well priced: you can get it smothered in a green or vegetarian chili (half and half options as well). Other amazing menu items that we love are: huevos rancheros, the corned beef hash, eggs in a hole on a shingle, the french toast, the shrimp and grits, and of course I love their caramel lattes! To sum up, this sadly isnt the same place pre COVID where you could sit at the counter and enjoy a good meal laughing with the staff, but it still offers great food, good prices, and good people! Change is hard and while us customers are struggling to get through it so are our businesses: a little understanding goes a long way.
I recently visited after a long hiatus. The last time I was there, they had pulled a lot of their vegetarian options from the menu. Yesterday the menu was loaded with really excellent vegetarian options. Not just salads but lots of complex and delicious sounding sandwiches. I had the veggie reuben which was fantastic. Cant wait to go back for another one of the many options. Tables are widely spaced and employees are following safe COVID protocols. Cant comment on the service at this time because its just counter service due to the pandemic, but the food was really good.
The food here is really good. They do a variety of high quality coffee and tea preparations. Outdoor seating, mostly shaded.
Being from East Tennessee, I have never had Biscuits and Gravey the way they make it. Never had orange colored biscuits with some kinda zesty gravey. Both our granddaughters ordered it. What a disappointment. Yes, service was sub standard. Only 1 restroom, they other one was marked off for employees.
We met up with a couple of friends in the. Bel Mar shopping plaza in Lakewood, back in March on a Saturday morning. They recommended trying French Press.Wait:We got in right around 9:20am and quickly found a table; however, about ten minutes later customers had to wait. When we left there was a line of about four families waiting.Service:Ashlynn was our server. She was awesome! Fast, friendly and fun!Drinks:The drip coffe was great! Alcoholic breakfast cocktails were an option, but we didnt try any.Food: I had the Lox Benny. It had nice big portions of lox over the traditional English muffins with hollandaise. The home fries had a nice, crisp edge to them too. Others in the party enjoyed the Breakfast Burrito and the. Crabby Benny, made with fresh crab cakes.Overall: A nice, yummy, small breakfast/brunch hangout in BelMar.
Great customer service. Great food!!
Breakfast Sammy sub the ham with more bacon. Youre welcome.
Nice outside dining. Cut above the normal breakfast fare.
I love their old fashioned breakfast burrito- veggies inside!
The food and coffee are pretty good, but the woman at the register was so rude it honestly made me not want to return. Was irritated I didn’t know I pick up my to go coffee somewhere separate from where I pick up to go food. This is the second time I’ve been here and I feel like a lot of the staff acts as if they’re doing you a favor by allowing you to eat there. Not blown away enough by the food to endure the staff.
Delicious and creative food - LOVE this place!
Dirty bathrooms and dirty attitudes. The girl rolled her eyes when we wanted to make sure our plate did not have dairy because of an allergy. Rude staff.
Decent food, pretty expensive for some avacado toast (Im talking $14 for some bread with guac smeared on it) but other items seem more reasonably priced. Coffee was good, and well worth the price comparatively.
Very rude staff. They kept taking orders, yet no place to sit. I understand the Covid mandates, but they should of stopped taking dine in orders until they available sitting. Never recommended them.
Consistently great experience here. I love the variety of options on their menu, the prices (used to be better but still affordable), and the fact that they have vegetarian friendly options. Get here early if you want to snag a table.
Prices do not reflect quality, which was no better than Dennys, but cost much more
Would prefer sit down service, very noisy so it was hard to hear however my croque madame was so yummy. Ill go back for the sandwich.
FOODGASM! I ordered the Lox Benedict and expected to have a slice of salmon on each muffin but it was PILED on there. The hollandaise was silky and and perfectly seasoned (no easy feat) The coffee was excellent as you would expect from a place with this moniker.
Some of the best eggs benedict I have found in the Denver metro area. Also has a really good lunch!
One of my all time favorite brunch places. I moved to the springs a few years ago so I’m not able to make it here often, but it’s always awesome when I get to! I know I’ve gotten the breakfast burrito and probably one of their bennies over the years, but my favorite is their huevos rancheros with the pork green Chile and the crispy tortillas. So delicious! Highly recommend it! It is a tiny spicy though so just FYI if you don’t like spice. (I do!)
Great! Chai was very spicy which I like. We didnt eat but the food looked and smelled fantastic with huge portions.
Always liked this place. Bit strange to visit there during covid rules, but still great 👍
Great food, good service, many choices on menu, good price.
Tried to order food to sit inside due to a chilly Colorado day. The woman at the front counter said I could wait since indoor dining was full. However, if someone in line behind me ordered and sat down before us they couldn’t do anything about that. She was rude and not willing to accommodate the customer! We had a great experience at the Greenwood Village location. We won’t visit this Belmar location again.
One of the only restaurants Im comfortable eating at during covid. They have transitioned SO well to lower capacity. Jen helped us and was a BOSS. Thanks!
A lady answered the phone rudely, put me on hold for a very long time.
Ive been going here for a couple years and absolutely love the place! The food is fantastic, well priced, and properly portioned! COVID has made a mess of things and things have definitely changed here. The staff is always friendly. There are some one star reviews stating staff is unfriendly, my only input on this is be nice to the staff, they just might be nice back. Everyone is stressed, dont be mad at the restaurant for changing how they have to do business. Be glad they are open, enjoy the food, read the signs, pay attention, and dont be rude!
