Best of Denver for the specialty coffee enthusiast with a palate fixed towards lighter roasts. Super friendly staff willing to help guide your choices! Love this place. Staple of my home brew rotation and love to stop by for an espresso drinkUpdate 10/13/21: ordered an espresso and watched the barista meticulously grind, pour and time two shots to make sure I was getting a quality spro. πAlso their bagged coffee is never more than a week old, typically just a few days!
While in town, I was in search for the best cup of coffee in Denver. I found it at Sweet Bloom Coffee Roasters. No matter if you want a simple pour over, or a delicately crafted cup - this place is a must.Thank me later!
Great coffee selection, preparation, and execution. Tried an espresso and hand pour of the two Ethiopian coffees available and both were fantastic. Came back a couple days later and got a pour over of a Guatemalan, also fantastic. Love the openness and how you can see the business in action, with people roasting and cooling coffee in one corner, shipping and boxing in another, and doing tests and tasting in another.
Love this place! I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice environment and excellent coffee. The coffee options were vast and the barista was very patient with all of the questions we had about the coffee.
This is a great little hole in the wall coffee shop. The decor and atmosphere was very warm and hip and inviting. I thoroughly enjoyed my nitro cold brew with oat milk and vegan cardamom bundt cake. This is definitely a place that I would go to again!
Good coffee, skilled baristas. Probably the only shop in the city that can pull a decent shot.
Love this coffee shop. The coffee is so very good, not bitter at all. Their latte is the best Iβve ever had and I even enjoy their drip coffee. Best in the city! Also so grateful to see all their CoVid safety measures. You order at a window with glass between you and staff and just insert your card. Coffee is delivered to avoid outdoor table. Love seeing businesses continue to be open and keeping everyone safe. Win win.
Best. Cup. Of. Coffee. Seriously though the coffee I ordered was probably one of the best cups of coffee Iβve ever had. Although the location is quite unassuming, it is rather cozy in an industrial type of way. There are a couple of tables with chairs and a nice selection of coffee gifts like cups, t-shirts, cards and more. Of course you can also buy different types of coffee beans depending on your taste! I ordered a latte (to go) with the delicious house blend. Choose from regular coffee type of drinks, although they donβt have ice so donβt looks for any iced drinks. If you decide to enjoy your coffee inside you will get front row seats to see the masters at work behind the glass.
I just buy coffee here and make it at home. It is the best coffee I have ever had. I had no idea how important the freshness was to flavor. I had no idea what a naturally processed coffee was. I had no idea I could enjoy coffee this much.Changed my lifeNice people tooAlso, I do like this:pour over with hario v60fairly course grind200 degree water15:1 water to coffee1 minute bloom using about 1/4th of total water3 pours after bloom, total extraction time including bloom should be around 3:30 or a little less.
Im so glad I dont live in this neighborhood and have to come to this place regularly. Id love for management to chime in and tell me how he justifies putting his baked goods in an open air environment with nothing covering them during a pandemic.....
Nice place off the beaten path. They offer a wide range of roasts. I told the barista what tyoe of coffee I like & what type of drink I like & wha-la I had a tasty drink! They also offer gluten free & vegan pastries which is so great for a gluten free and/or vegan. You should definitely try this place.
My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience! Coffee was amazing and the service was even better. Everyone was so happy to serve us and personable. Weβre from out of town but will make sure to visit anytime weβre in Denver and continue to by their beans to enjoy at home!
Make sure you try this place. Have the coffee black, you wont regret it.
Sweetbloom is the best coffee you can get. I havent found better in any city or state Ive traveled to. The delicate and complex flavors that are found within each cup only come from roasters that are masters of their craft. It is well worth leaving the beaten path to enjoy a cup in their little factory.
I was excited to try Sweet Bloom, as it was recommended to me by a local friend and had very good online reviews. I walked into their shop this morning with a cheery attitude, and I asked the barista what they enjoyed to drink/what the coffee shop was known for (I feel like this is a common question to ask in the food/drink service industry). The barista proceeded to condescendingly and pretentiously tell me about how this place isnt a starbucks, and they dont offer shots of vanilla and caramel (I hate both, but I guess I give off the vibes that my typical coffee order is an iced caramel macchiato). The barista explained that they wanted the customer to experience the flavor of the coffee. Which was fine by me because I came in exactly for that: a cup of coffee. I settled on a nitro cold brew. The barista then halfheartedly slid the cup of coffee my way, and immediately turned their back on me, not exchanging additional words. The whole time I felt like an inconvenience to the barista--like, how dare you order a cup of coffee at this coffee shop. The nitro cold brew was fine; I would have rather had a crappier cup of coffee from a different place if I could have had a less condescending interaction.
My wife and I absolutely enjoyed our visit to Sweet Bloom when we were in Denver. The lattΓ© my wife ordered was absolutely perfect and my pour-over was excellent. There isnβt a ton of seating and they were quite busy when we popped in. They were also packaging and finishing some roasting while we were in, so be forewarned that it can get noisy in there! Thankfully thereβs some outside seating too, so if the weathers nice thatβs a slightly better option for conversation. Overall, highly recommend as there coffee was excellent!
This is the best local coffee roaster that I am aware of. There are other good ones, but Sweet Bloom is just better. This is the only coffee shop where I will get coffee over espresso. I dont go often because its not in my part of town, but when I am anywhere near there, I definitely stop in.If you are a coffee connoisseur, you have to try this place.
Best coffee I ever had. Probably the best in the west. I had three different drip coffee that were made to perfection, they count each gram for a perfect cup. The espresso is also nice, not too bitter or burned. From the cafe area the roasters can be seen, beautiful machines! This is not the place if you are in a hurry though, good coffee requires some time.
Fantastically geeky baristas. Gorgeous design and great coffee.
Inconspicuous roastery off of W Colfax that has high attention to detail in each cup served. Laid back atmosphere that serves as both a warehouse for their operations and where you can get a fresh cup of coffee. It has the feeling of like visiting a brewery and when the tour is finished you get beer fresh from the line, but no tour here. They have some seating and standing room available to chill but limited. Friendly folks work here too and worth the visit!
Most impressive roaster Iβve ever been to. Very clean cut βbreweryβ feeling. I pulled the annoying βmake me whateverβ because I literally could not chose just one roast. Pour over done right in front of you. Very knowledgeable. One cup of El Obraje for around $8.00 but 100% worth it. Tucked in a homey neighborhood.
Sweet Blooms coffee is top notch, not to mention their customer service. I have had issues with packages not arriving and they have went out of their way to get coffee delivered to me which I appreciate a ton. I recommend them to all my out of state friends and family and they all love this company as well.
Fantastic local coffeeshop with sweet and savory pastries and a walk up window for safe ordering
Best specialty coffee roaster in Colorado π
I love spending some special time and energy in the morning making my own cup of coffee. If you need the best beans, go to sweet bloom. They never disappoint!
This review is specifically for the Lakewood location and doesnt represent the company as a whole. I just dont understand the snobby attitude of the baristas at this location?? Arvada location isnt much better but im hoping the new Westminster spot is down to earth. How hard is it to be friendly to your customers? Especially when you are asking for a tip up front. Good coffee does NOT make up for rude, stuck-up customer service or lack thereof.
Best local coffee north of Denver (aka in the suburbs). Knowledgeable staff and quick service make the experience easy.Ive visited every year for the past 4 years and their quality of coffee has only increased after partnering with Sweet Bloom. Keep up the great work!
When you are ready to up your coffee cup, sweet Bloom is the place to go! A local roaster who only uses small batch beans - and they have a way of roasting that makes the coffee taste amazing π
Excellent coffee and friendly service
Amazing shop with great coffee. They rotate through their selection on both hand brew and espresso so you can always taste something new. Id definitely recommend grabbing a bag of beans while youre there too, if youre unsure on what to get the baristas always have some great insight.
Such incredible coffee in such an unexpected place! This place is a must for any coffee enthusiasts in the area. The staff was deeply knowledgeable about their coffees, sources, and farmers, and passionate in answering all of our queries :) we had one Ethiopian as an espresso and it was an extremely deep and fruit-forward shot, the second ethiopian we had as a coffee (both recommended by the staff) which was a classic and well-executed, delicate but satisfying, drip. Coming from the Boston area, we were delighted to find such great coffee in Denver.
I found Sweet Bloom through other reviews and wanted to check it out. The location is weird, but I learned it is in part due to zoning limitations from Lakewood. The coffee was excellent and well balanced with different fruit blends depending on the coffee. The vibe is chill with different seating options--mostly high stools-- and it can be noisy with the roasting machinery right there. They have a couple baked goods, but their vendor is closing shop so well see what they switch to. Apparel is also available to purchase. Staff were polite and helpful. Now its one of my favorite local spots!
Stopped here twice on our trip to Colorado in January. So glad we did! The cappuccinos were definitely some of the best Iβve ever had. My husband just ordered a surprise delivery of freshly roasted beans for the quarantine, and the coffee is amazing. Thanks for sending beans across the country for us to enjoy since we canβt visit! The coffee is smooth, not bitter, and itβs delicious. Hope we can make it out there again in the future!
Great coffee! Our daughter lives in Denver and introduced us to Sweet Bloom. Now we order their beans and have them shipped to us. The latte at the storefront was just as expected, tasteful!
Great option for fresh roasted coffee. Thanks for including a roast date on the bag, would be an added touch to have even a verbal degas period stated. Bought an Ethiopian on the 3rd roasted on the 2nd, coffee started to taste best on the 5th - but would have loved the roasters input on when the optimal window starts. But a simply great roast with dynamic flavors.
Great coffee, fresh. Good and friendly service.
Great ppl, great coffee
The coffee is delicious and the inside of this place smells sooooo good!
The best coffee in the area by far! Ive been getting their beans delivered too and its been a great experience.
A bit of a wait but worth it for the best honey almond milk latte ive had in a long time.
Great covid precautions. Simple and delicious menu!!
One of the best roasters in the country in my opinion. Great selection of origin beans and everything Ive tried so far has been stellar. I get their beans shipped to my place in TX on the regular now. Thank you for making my morning cups such a great treat : )
Honestly this place is pretty decent. I saw they were mentioned in some publication online and decided to give them a try.Weird location tbh, but thatβs cool. They made me a pour over and it was very tasty! The roasting machines are super neat and look kinda like train engines, (I love trains), and theyβre right there for you to see!I also love the huge bathroom! The staff is very friendly and answered all my questions.I will definitely come back soon!
I really love the coffee here Sweet Bloom Coffee Roaster. It was the best sweet smell of coffee I had in my entire life. I am not a coffee lover but this one was the excellent. I love it. Great customer service they were helpful and friendly staff. I like the view and shop was very clean and nice tables and chair. Great works.
Terrific coffee and friendly staff
Only the finest quality of beans here at Sweet Bloom. Baristas are experts on their craft and have a way in making us customers feel just as excited about coffee as they are. Tried and true, they are top tier in Denver coffee.
Great coffee, pleasant workers.
Sweet Bloom in my opinion is one of the best local coffee roasters in the Denver metro area. The beans are always fresh and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Their roaster is right in the middle of the shop so those interested can get a glimpse of the roasting process which is really cool. My go to order is an oak milk latte but the chocolate banana muffins and drip coffee are both solid choices as well. Im sure the rest of the menu is just as tasty, but I havent tried much else because the latte is so dang good. Some might consider it to be a bit expensive for coffee but youre paying for fresh high quality ingredients that I feel is 100% worth it.
This place was amazing! I brought the little girl I nanny with me to get some tea and a sweet snack and the staff was so nice and accommodating. They even had gluten free and vegan bread options which tasted amazing!! As someone who suffers from celiac disease the banana chocolate chip bread was so delicious. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxing. Will come back in the future and bring my friends and family with me.
Sweet Bloom Roasters were so kind to donate some coffee to The Other Side Academy. A couple of our students were able to stop by the coffee shop and had a wonderful experience. The espresso was the best theyve had and they are planning their next trip there soon. Thank you!
We order Sweet Bloom beans to our house in FL. So, when we come out west we make a point to stop in at the original shop. The service is outstanding. The baristas are knowledgeable and make the best espresso in town. Thanks for another great stop. You guys rock!!
Thanks for your bloom coffee.
Beyond amazing. Went yesterday on my day off. The energy in there is amazing and the Coffee speaks for itself. I purchased a Latte and a Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin. The latte needed no sugar whatsoever the bean is so fresh! Excited to go back!
Quaint little place off the beaten track. Roasting on premises and tastings going on in the back. Looks like a neat place. The staff seemed a little off-put that I wanted to look at the menu.Cappuccino was excellent and artfully done. A nice quiet place. Could use a few more seats though.
Been drinking their coffee for at least the last 6 years. They are the best coffee roaster in the state. Their staff is always friendly and I rarely choose to go to another coffee shop as a result. 10/10 would recommend.
Hidden gem! Drive slowly or you might miss it. Sweet Bloom is a wonderful place to chill and work. Relaxing and trendy music selection, friendly and cheerful staff, and delicious tea. I love Morning Mist with a cherry/chocolate chip muffin to start my day.
Best coffee in the metro area. Had a pour over and a cortado. Attention to detail is evident in the care they put into beverages. My 2 year old was being a little boisterous but the staff took it in stride. Loved watching the roasting happen!
No better coffee in all the land.
Simply the best coffee for leagues and leagues. Over the last several years I have been away from Colorado and try many many times to find local coffee that I like even close to as much only to end up ordering sweet bloom because roasters that can compete with them are few and far between. Posting right now because I am headed back today and very excited to have some super fresh sweet bloom!
This is the place for die hard coffee lovers who know good coffee!
Bruce made me the best late Ive ever tasted. What a great barista! The ambiance was amazing and very well thought out.
Came here looking for some great coffee and I came out very fulfilled with my Java experience and not to mention the muffin I had was scrumptious and loved the ambience and was interesting to see what looked like a coffee making training course in the back. Overall great place and would recommend.
This is a very hidden gem in Lakewood which I only discovered recently. I wish I had been introduced earlier because the coffee blends are perfection. I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves a good coffee.
Had to rewrite my review. Despite the current circumstances, their customer service (phone, social media, etc) is fantastic. Theyve been super helpful and I love that the site has espresso instructions for their house blend. Its some of the best coffee Ive ever had and havent had to wait curbside pickup for more than a minute. Ive gotta recommend the house blend for anything from espresso to honey lattes.
Absolutely stunning coffees! I didnt know just how good coffee could be on a consistent basis until being introduced to Sweet Bloom. Not only will you get great tastes and flavors in-cup, they have GREAT customer service. Id like to personally thank Anna for helping me and setting the example for excellent customer service :)Just know you cant go wrong with Sweet Bloom! Even my close friends who dont geek out on coffee like me LOVE when they see the beautiful packages sitting on my shelf and ask for a cup ;)
Best cup of coffee Ive had in Denver, period. They do pour-overs only, but definitely worth the couple minutes it takes to prepare (and there are tea & espresso options as well). Drink it black, and savor it. Small but very high-quality selection of beans as well.
Put simply, Sweet Bloom is the best coffee youβll have just about anywhere. Andy and his staff take great care to responsibly source their beans and roast them to divine perfection. The roast is never bitter, and is one of the few places you can get a such a smooth brew. You can see the meticulous attention to detail and great love for the roasting process in everyone on staff. Iβd recommend anywhere, any time.
First: I highly recommend you get straight coffee from a pour-over and sit in their space to drink it. Try it black before you add anything. The coffee is well-roasted and lacks any bitterness. Ive been religious about a little half-and-half and a tiny bit of sugar forever, but Id drink this black if I could get it every day.
Started day with Four Barrel coffee. It was my first time going to the cafe. Took a friend who got the hot chocolate and didnt like it because it was too bitter. I got an almond milk latte which was what it was suppose to be. I really liked the inside decorum.
Best cup o coffee ever. Their subscription is fabulous and so exciting to get in the mail every month. If you use an aero press, its super affordable.
This isnt a cafe. They dont have an extensive food menu; they had these amazing little cake/bread sweets this morning. But what they do have is darned good coffee!! I would love to come back at try all the varieties and get an education about how to make exceptional coffee. Nice to see the roasting/packing operations in the open. Unique.
Great local coffee spot. Coffee and pastries are spot on. Highly recommended if you are looking for the best coffee in town.Hours are sometimes a little tough for customers, but that shows how sweet bloom values their employees time and time off.
Im not much of a coffee drinker, but what little I know tells me that this is leaps and bounds better than any big name brand coffee chain from Seattle with a mermaid as their logo. I had the americano and it was smooth with a nice, slightly nutty flavor. It was a highlight of an otherwise mediocre day! Will be back again when Im in the area hands down!
Excellent almond lattes and friendly folks! With physical distancing measures in place, we placed our order online and picked it up shortly after at the table outside. 10/10 would recommend.
Like returning to an old friend! Had been there by accident a few ago....couldnt remember their name, where they were located, nothing....for years. Suddenly now I remembered where. So glad I did. Awesome staff, awesome coffee. Ill be back for sure (if I can remember it π
We have been trying to go for weeks but for some reason Sweet Bloom is not open on Sundays??? We thought this was just an error on Google until we called and confirmed that they arenβt. Iβve never heard of a coffee shop not open on a weekend. Iβve heard so many great things and really want to try the coffee and weekends seem like a time when businesses would be open but I am proven wrong.
Interior was beautiful. Great services by great staff. Coffee flavor was good. A fresh and healthy food.
Great pour over selection and prices are good too!
Extremely glad I found a REAL coffee shop close to home. They have a very cool coffeehouse setup in a warehouse setting. You can watch them roast the beans right there. The coffee was great - had one of the smoothest pour over coffees ever. Not a huge espresso fan, but the guy next to me raved about it, so may have to give that a shot next time...everyone was extremely nice and welcoming. Will be back!
Very cool shop. They do single pour overs for each cup, so dont expect to just run in and grab a quick drip coffee. They roast their coffee on-site, so its neat to see all the hardware associated with that. Very high quality coffee... Good for the coffee geeks out there.
Very knowledgeable and eager to help you learn. The service staff can answer any question you could ask about their product and facility. These people really care about what they do and why they do it.
Best coffee in town! I go out of my way to get my coffee here. Pastries are also very good. Only downside is they are closed on Sundays.
Great coffee shop! They have a tasting room for events at at this location. Another great coffee spot in denver.
One of the best roasters in town. Although pricey and sad when they rotate amazing coffee out-- since its all small batch. The latter is why I give it 4 stars, but 5 star taste/coffee/staff
