We wanted to give a big 5 star shout out to Lakewood location. What a great staff of people there on 5/27/21. All of them went above and beyond the call of duty to search high and low for a case of Old Speckled Hen English Ale they had in inventory. Great crew, great selction, great store. A well-rounded selection of both wine (not a majority of Californian labels like other stores) and reasonably priced hard liquors. They also sell gift baskets, which great to know when you need something in a pinch. Would definitely recommend and will be returning soon.

My favorite adult beverages shop. Always courtesy shown to consumers and very organized. Like the clerks, very knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable.

I went in to inquire about vegan wines for a gift and found they have a large selection here.This one is not listed as vegan, but it was purchased as a gift for a friend, and not my style of wine, but it looks like a very tasty example of this varietal. When my friend tastes it, I may give a review.

Really enjoyed my first visit here. My parents visited this place when we lived here a few years ago and always spoke about their selections and customer service. In celebration for my birthday this month we drove up the coast stopped by the wine academy. Before this month, Ive never tasted liquor. The staff was eager to explain the difference in options and helped me to find what best suits my palate. I really appreciate everyones personability and their taking time to educate me. I learned more about myself in them sharing of themselves.Ask for Steve😉

I like the store but the older blonde cashier is not a people person. She has a problem saying thank you, and the idea of getting someone to help me with a box of six wines and a large captain morgans rum doesnt seem to occur to her. I have too struggle to get box onto cat

This is a very nice place to go for a good selection of different wines an what have you.-My problem here is with most of the staff,especially the cashiers. The couple times Ive been here the people arent very friendly, outgoing nor welcoming.The days of service with a smile are gone, I guess!Anyway enough of that.Local selection is just like all the other liquor stores in the area but with a few extras.The treat here is the imported section its a delight for those familiar an kinda new to wine..

This is the best wine, liquor, or beer store for miles. They have the best selection and the best prices without a doubt, not just for wine. But for wine, you can literally leave here with something new every time, and any price point, and be happy (I have). The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful as well. As long as Im able to shop here convenience-wise, I would go nowhere else.

This store has the largest selection of wines and liquors in the area. They also sell beer and ice. They have a wine tasting area where you can taste up to four wines daily with a card that you can get at the register area for free. The card is reusable for numerous free tastings.

Very helpful staff. Sign up for the wine tasting machine, youll like it, its free. They have everything but prices are higher than your average Spirits.

My partner and I shop here regularly but we have had enough. We wont be back. One of the employees is a blatant racist. She is friendly toward other white patrons. However every time my Latino partner goes to her register she is beyond rude. Today she ignored his greetings, ignored him when he asked how she was and then actually THREW his change at him across the counter.He complained to the manager. I hope this is handled properly and was not just given lip service. We dont need that kind of HATE in our town.My son is getting married in 2 months and I was going to purchase the wine for 500 people from Wine Academy. They lost that sale today.

If I could give this place no stars I would. I literally just left there and was treated like a piece of trash.I am a software engineer, do well in life and like good wine and burbon. Today I was dressed casual... jeans, an old polo with a sweatshirt and you would have thought I was a bum rolling in with pennies looking for a 40 and a brown bag.The older wine guy was polite and seemed like he wanted to help but the woman from the register that approached me when I was wandering around the wine section was rude.Mr. BowTie in the beer section was condescending and when I asked if they carried Jolly Pumpkin beer and then corrected him that it’s a brand, not a flavor and available all year I got the “how dare I challenge him” attitude.Off to pay for the two bottles of wine (one 27 and one 60) a 750ml of woodford double oaked burbon and I get Miss Rude again.Well.... you would have thought I just ripped someone off and was using thier stolen credit card.She demanded my license (I’m ok with that just not the attitude) and looked at for a solid minute or so, rocking it back and forth to try to see the hologram.Interestingly no one else ahead of me had to produce ID.Finally she accepted it was real, it was in fact my credit card and let me check out.I should have just left the bottles on the counter and walked out but I didn’t. I was there, spent $200 bucks and I will never return.
