I love Mark Grenne Automotive. They have always treated me right and when I take my car in for regular checks and maintenance, they do the best job out of any shop I have ever gone to on showing me (with pictures) what they are doing, what they are checking and what needs to be done now vs. what can be held off for a little bit. I have no problem having them do work on my vehicle because it is quality work at a great price.

Dropped off my car at 10am and it was done by 230 and they’re always super nice and answer all my questions plus they have a discount program each month right now for $25 off service. I took my car in because my brakes were squeaky and I was wondering if the pads needed replacement. They took a look and told me that my brake pads did not need replacement and that the noise was just from debris on the brakes. Not only did they not try to sell me something I didnt need, they also did not charge me for their time. Highly recommend!

I want to give a huge shout out to Mark Green Automotive Repair in Lakewood on Mississippi and Lamar streets. I have been there before and they’ve always done great work. A week ago I bought a car from a dealership and there was a strong gas smell inside the car. The dealership couldn’t figure out what it was. I took it to Mark Greene and not only did they do a 20 point inspection for free but they figured out what the smell was coming from and found a warranty for me to get the work done at a Ford dealership. Jonathan was amazing, very professional, very helpful. I just can’t recommend them enough!

They were fast. They were friendly. They quoted me a price that was reasonable and close to what I expected to pay. The car runs great and I will definitely come here again.

We took our 2014 Nissan Altima in for a transmission repair and received absolutely top quality service. Its rare to find an auto repair shop that is honest with you about your repairs and doesnt ever seem to be trying to upsell anything. Ive since returned to Mark Greene for other totally unrelated repairs and have always had the same amazing experience. If you need work done on your vehicle, this is definitely the place to go.

I’ve had a list of work done on my European branded car here as my other local trusted mechanic does not work on them.They did everything I had requested (mind you I am called/considered picky/detail oriented when I have work done) I.E using manufacturers parts/oils, had my coolant flushed with ONLY distilled water as to not introduce corrosion/rust in my system prior to replacing coolant etc…They are very good at finding the other problems I was not aware that needed serviced and happily & patiently explained why and spared me plenty of time to understand the mechanics of it all and one thing I absolutely love is they include pictures with details from the servicing tech about why/where it’s worn in their emails/texts!They are fair priced especially considering euro cars take special tools, software, training etc. for everything to be done quote “proper” as far as I understand.They are also **extremely patient (my car was with them a weekishhh or so ONLY because I insisted on using used good condition parts off the inter webs.**This is because I did not want to pay an exorbitant amount of money for “branded OEM European dealer parts” mind you not their fault car dealer fault) on a pair of items and the first order or so off the web did not match the parts I needed for it to be done proper & affordable to my detailed picky donkey. But once they did have the right ones & managed to take off the literally fused pieces of metal/nuts off my car it went all well & smoothly. Props to them for their diligence, knowledge & commitment to making a happy customer!** )and do follow up well with any additional findings/when it’s done via over the phone usually and or voicemail and I believe they do use text/email updates.(don’t expect any mechanic to call you all the time that’s also your duty/responsibility to check in/follow up for all the hater reviews saying ‘they took to long to follow up or xyz excuse FYI)I highly suggest them for any service & especially any European car services.

The last time I went there, I was quoted a price by a female via land line. I dropped my car off. When i picked up my vehicle, the owner charged me a much higher price to get my vehicle. I have never been back nor will I ever be back!

In the past I had really good luck with this repair shop. This time I had something wrong with the electronics for my windows and I was quoted a price for about for $425 to replace the door electronic master switch. I found it on the internet for $35 and my husband installed it. I paid $125 for the diagnosis which I suppose was fair but then it would have been a $450 to $500 bill when it was really a $35 repair. Im a little concerned that they dont do more to find parts that are the best price. They were very helpful and polite.

Not recommended & not BBB accredited. I was quoted a price for a job I thought I was getting done. I found out after the fact that the quote was only for part of the work I needed done. I was misled by the salesman & paid a ridiculous amount for a rear brake job. In addition, the mechanics missed critical issues with the front breaks that now is costing me more money to get repaired. We also took another to them at the same time & we were told that it was fine when it actually needs multiple issue repaired. It seems the mechanics at this shop dont really pay attention to everything and what they do pay attention to is super overpriced!!! And reading other reviews, I expect to get a response that is defensive and not one of a true business that wants to make things right with anybody!This is a response to your comments. As I expected it would be a series of explanations and a little bit of smug sarcasm such as the treatment I received from the guy who works your counter. I brought my car in to get both front and rear brakes done. When I received the quote for my brake job for $350 to do the pads I assumed it was for all four brakes which is what I had requested. I was shocked to find out in the aftermath that you guys charged me $350 to install rear brake pads. Seriously?! I may be a woman but nobody in their right mind would agree to pay that kind of price to do one set of brakes . I would even be a little pricey to do front and rear brake pads for $350, but I agreed because of the convenience of your location ! Everything else since then has been a joke. You are a joke your employees are a joke, your business overcharges and underworks! I will be happy to find an honest home because its definitely not with you!

This auto shop does an amazing job on any vehicle that I have given them. They work efficiently and professionally, getting the job done right everytime. Praise God for such an amazing auto shop and is also super cheap! Im blessed to have people I know I can trust with my vehicle.

They have always done good work, have fair pricing, and wont charge you for things you dont need. They have always been very flexible and have finished the work in the timeline they promise. Came in for a second opinion on my brake system and I’m glad I did. Jonathan was very helpful and professional. I explained my issue and he inspected everything for me. I was able to feel confident in the diagnosis I was given and overall I saved money by not having to replace my entire master cylinder. The work was also completed very quickly for just dropping in. I will be returning here for future work, and definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for an honest mechanic.

Would highly recommend not going to this shop. Recently brought a vehicle in with starting issues. They did a $800 fuel pump replacement just to have the car not start again the day after I brought it home. Had to bring it back to find out that they had replaced the wrong part, and it would be another $200. Customer service was very poor when confronted with their very costly mistake, and they took no action to make the situation right. In fact the owner himself came off very smug and condescending. Do yourself a favor and find any better mechanic who will be able to properly diagnose your vehicle. They are very slow at contacting you about what is going on as well. Often had to reach out to them to check on status of my car. Seriously. Avoid this place if you want good care and service. (In their response they also say this other bad review from Jerry Hanes is my father. I have never met this person. It must be someone else who thinks they have awful service) You guys are a joke!

I have been bringing both of my vehicles here for a few of the last oil changes and I will never take them anywhere else. My truck can be expensive to service and repair, and this is by far the most affordable place and I believe they are very fair. They are super nice and explain anything you ask about. I will continue to bring my vehicles here and highly, highly recommend this company.

I’ve been coming here for a few years now. I never feel like I get the run-around and never feel like they are trying to exploit my lack of knowledge about my vehicle. The staff is always friendly and willing to explain and answer all of my questions. My only two complaints would be, first, the first time I took my vehicle here, I was advised that my car would be done by a certain time. When I returned, I was advised that the work hadn’t even been started yet and that they were shorthanded. To be honest, I wasn’t upset that it wasn’t done, I was frustrated because I was told a certain time with no phone call to let me know it had changed. I understand if they are shorthanded, it could be difficult, but a 2 minute call would have sufficed. Second, I go on a cross country road trip about once a year. So, I usually ask them to do a once over to make sure everything is good, one main thing being lights (headlights, tail lights, brake lights, plate lights, etc.) I don’t need any reason to get pulled over while traveling. But, each time I’ve asked, something was always missed. I’m not overly upset because I know it’s a lot to ask, but it’s still a bit frustrating. A lot of those things are difficult to check with one person. Overall, they are great and helpful and I’d definitely recommend them.

Ive had old cars and newer cars over the years. In my older cars, when a repair was going to cost more than the benefit due to the age of the car, he would say so. He could have done the repair for the revenue, (Id have never known), but that is not how he does not business . I would recommend him to anyone without reservation!

Great Family business. I have been a couple times now and have nothing but great things to say about them. Always honest up front information and great prices. I called once with a problem at lunch time and the owner came out on his lunch break to help me out, gave me a rough estimate and told me my options within 5 minutes I was gone. Good place to take your car

We discovered Mark Greene auto not too long after moving here in 2010 and have been going there for most every auto repair since. They have always been honest and up front with us and pretty quick too. We have brought things in to them on a few occasions and they have ended up telling us we didnt need as much done as we had thought (or didnt need anything done) - the point being that they could have done an unnecessary repair to get the money and we probably wouldnt have known but they chose not too. We definitely trust them with out auto repair. Also they are about a 25 minute drive for us but its worth it to us for a mechanic we trust!

I have a Mercury Sable, I went there for a light repair, after 15 minutes they told me that was repair and ready to go with no charge, I asked why and was told that the repair was minimal and no need to pay. Very happy with the honesty and service.

I went here to check out a car I was going to buy from a private party. Mark did a thorough but quick inspection. He was very efficient and very honest! He does excellent work and will give you an honest quality opinion! I would have been very disappointed in the car had I not gone to see him. Highly recommended!

Excellent!I have been having intermittent problems with my truck hesitating during acceleration/heavy load for about a month, I was sure it was the fuel filter needing replaced. I took a road trip to the Black Hills in South Dakota for the 4th of July holiday and on the way back it really started acting up and the check engine light came on around Cheyenne.Very glad I did a google search for high rated mechanics in my area because this shop is a Gem. They spent all day testing and diagnosing my truck, let it run for over an hour etc and eventually determined it just needed a cleaning of the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Even after the cleaning, entire day of diagnosing and pulling/checking my spark plugs the bill was a very reasonable $85.00. I guarantee anywhere else would have been much more and who knows what services they would have tried to sell me on.The honesty and knowledge is highly appreciated. We will be taking our vehicles here from now on and I will be telling my family/in-laws about them as well.

Mark has been taking care of our whole familys cars for many years now! He has always treated us fairly, been honest with the work that needs to be done and not doing work that isnt necessary. I trust Mark and Tom to give me an honest assessment of the needs for my car and to do a great job keeping our cars functioning and maintained with skill and knowledge.

Staff was friendly. So would reccomend for that reason. The reason they only get 4 stars is because I dropped off my car in the morning and 10 mins before they closed I called because my car was supposed to be ready before hand and they still hadnt called. Unfortunatelyit wasnt ready. Wasnt too big of a deal since I was off for two days but would have been nice to know I wasnt going to have a car for another day.

This place is amazing. They do great work and stand behind what they do. They wont sell anything you dont need and wont put inferior parts in your car. Two years after replacing my valve gaskets they started leaking again. Replaced them again at no charge. I didnt even have to ask. Wont take my cars anywhere else!

I have been taking my 2000 Totyoa 4 Runner to Mark Greene Automotive for many years and Mark and his staff keep my car running like new . My car has almost 300,000, mile on it and it still runs like new. These days it is hard to find a mechanic that is honest and fair and these are everyday standards at Marks Auto shop. You dont have to worry about a long list of un-needed repairs and a large bill. You will always get the truth from them and most important is they treat you like family. You feel good since they put their customers first and they listen. Ladies a great safe place to take your car knowing you want get mislead . If you need to have your car working perfectly then take it to Mark and his staff you will be happy you did.

I havent written a negative review in more years than I can remember...And I dont enjoy doing so.However, when a wheel nearly falls off after a brake job, I dont feel unjustified.I had recently moved to the Belmar area and wanted to find a good local shop for a few personal vehicles and several business vehicles. Mark Greene had good reviews.Initially, I had sent one of our service Toyota Tundras through for a checkup/oil change/etc. Then, I brought my personal Toyota Tundra for an overdue brake job. My personal truck was finished on a Friday afternoon. Because I was circulating business vehicles through for service, I lent my personal truck to a technician for a weekend job in Summit County.My truck was returned from Summit County Sunday of that weekend. On the following Monday or Tuesday, I need to pick up a trailer and made it half way to Brighton before I heard a terrible clunking. I immediately pulled over and discovered my front drivers wheel had 3 of 5 lug nuts extremely loose and the wheel was barely hanging on to the axle. I tightened all bolts and continued on my way (slightly irritated).Our very busy work schedule gave me a few days to cool off before calling the shop. I did want to call to advise of the situation. I suggested we bury the hatchet and the shop offer some free oil changes for the extreme oversight. The shops response was Well, it depends on how many?.If my business had such a large oversight, I would have bent over backwards to make it right. In their case, its a miracle the wheel did not come off on the trip by my technician to Summit County. In that case, this would have been a door closing lawsuit, not a review.After reflection, I cant afford that level of sloppiness in vehicle service. I have found a different great local shop.

Mark Greene and his staff are awesome. Tom helped me out immediately when I rolled in with my Xterra spewing antifreeze like Old Faithful. He had the problem diagnosed within about 15 minutes and figured out that I needed a couple new hoses. He quoted me around $500 to get it all done, but said it would be cheaper if he didnt have to remove one part of the engine. It was Thursday and he said he may not have it done until Monday. Well, he ended up not having to remove the part on the engine and got the hoses installed the very next day, and I drove out of there for much cheaper than $500. This shop is honest and they work hard and quickly, and Tom even made sure I had a ride out of the shop when they had to keep my truck overnight. I will continue to use this mechanic and I will refer everyone I know to them.

We are traveling across the country from Virginia. The check engine light came on in our Passat. We called around to ask if someone would look at our car but they were too busy. We found Mark Greene online and called right away. He was so helpful! They found that we needed a software update and called the dealership to see when they could take our car and what it would cost. We couldnt have asked for better service! A huge thank you to Mark, Johnathan, Tom, & the team for getting us back on the road!

Mark Greene told me he, did not care about me after I said I would report him to the BBB. My cars speedometer was broken after I had them repair my wheel bearing. Both Mark Greene and partner were rude and claimed it was mere coincidence my speedometer broke while they fixed my wheel bearing that I paid 200.00 more to have repaired compared to when I had a shop in Omaha fix the other wheel bearing. Worst customer experience ever. I was told since he knew more about cars that I could not possibly be correct in assuming that the speedometer broke while in their possession. I will tell everyone not to go there and will let everyone know not only did they refuse to take any responsibility, I was yelled at definitely not treated in a Christian manner.

I went in knowing I needed new tires, brakes checked, and potentially an alignment. My car, which I have owned for 1 month, had been shuddering and pulsing when I braked and it pulled slightly to the left. He recommended that I get the timing belt checked once I told him the previous owner was rough with the car (front end had been submerged into a pond at one point). Turns out the timing belt was chipped and starting to crack, meaning it was best to replace it to get the most out of my car. Mark and Tom even showed me my timing belt after it was replaced, and lo and behold, it was chipped and cracked just like they said. While I was not anticipating the extra repair and its cost, Im very glad it and the other things were repaired. After the short drive home, all the braking (shuddering and pulsing) and pulling problems have ceased.I am very happy with taking my car to Mark. Hes generous and fair. I felt that he did everything he could to make repairing my car as easy as possible, and Im very thankful for everything he did for me.

Mark SAVED Me!I am trying to head out of town for the 4th of July and a check engine light came on. When I called the Dealership, they said they would not even look at it for a week! That is ridiculous, I need it looked at now to see if I can drive this car 3,000 miles or not. Then I remembered that Mark helped me once with my old car. I gave him a call. He said come right over. 5 minutes later Mark told me it was a false alarm, the gas cap was loose! Who would have guessed the gas cap set off the check engine light! Every time I go here they do fantastic work. Full details and a great breakdown of what was and might still need to be done.There are only 2 places I will go and no where else!My 2008 VW and 2003 suzuki run and drive like a charrm.Every other place I have been with 4-5 star ratings always make a deal and replace with non OEM parts. Very important regarding a VW. Again had plugs and tune up done elsewhere, cant get the truth out of the other shop. Asked about timing belt, the other shop had a cheaper price but added extra prices for the stuff that comes with the kit. 200 more and if I wanted to keep my old tensioner (duh no! cant believe they even said that) the price would be cheap but no guarantee on the work.So.....timing belt first then the other screw up later. Should know better. Again, no other place than this.Other loved shop is on Santa Fe and Hampden.

Since I have been going to Mark Greene Automotive I have had 2 cars, a Volkswagon Beetle and a Toyota Camry. And while Volkswagon parts are Very expensive, they always offered me good prices and did better work than other auto shops who specialized in Volkswagons. And my Camry runs like a dream.
