My story starts with me detonating my torque converter in my 01 F250 7.3. I knew all the sounds I heard meant $$$. I called these guys and they gave me a fair price. I pulled the transmission myself and brought it to them on a Monday and had it back the following Monday. Trans was clean and painted. I went home put the transmission in, replaced my coolers, blew out the cooler lines and put in the fluid. My truck shifts so nice now. The staff were nice to work with. All the reviews of people complaining about a repair costing more than an original quote must not understand parts have wear limits and just because you went 6 more months without an issue doesnt mean its safe. So for the time being I have no reason to not recommend them for transmission repairs.

**Save yourself some time/money and go to a reputable auto repair shop.I asked to only get my coolant/oil checked for any cracks or leaks due to the levels dropping faster than normal.They ended up doing a full vehicle inspection and charged $228. They said there were no visible signs of damage. Ultimately, I paid over $200 just for them to top off my truck with half a gallon of coolant and a quart of oil.

I always had my service done at the dealer, but when my transmission went out I wanted an objective, 3rd party opinion. I had heard great things about Lakewood Transmission and as soon as I reached out, I knew it was true. They assisted with towing, diagnosed my car quickly, explained my options. Even after deliberating on what to do, going through a weekend and finally deciding to move forward with the repair, they got my car back up and running before the dealer could even get me in just to diagnose it! I had the opportunity to meet the Owners, who are boots on the ground and active in their business. It felt great to support local, small business owners and to drive away feeling taken care of. I cant say enough good things about my experience at Lakewood Transmission.

They had my car door two weeks to diagnose. Told me we needed to put a new engine in. Even though they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. Turned out to be a problem with the altenator.

They spent a lot of time and effort fixing a leak I didnt think they were going to be able to fix. Im very satisfied with their work.

Lakewood Transmission came highly recommended and after having my truck serviced there recently, I know why. They provided me with quick prompt service. Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable and went over and above to assist me and to identify and repair an unforeseen issue. Their kind and honest approach has made me a customer for life.

Took two Jaguars there for service and they immediately tried to maneuver me into a disassembly to replace a part I knew was failing. It was stated previously we would only be getting the service done.

We took our 2000 ford taurus in and they did not rip us off! Im always weary about shops but i would take my car to them again

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU NEED NEW BRAKES!!!!!! I called this establishment twice in order to verify price (including labor) for an oil change and brake pad replacement. I was quote $150 per axel and about $52 for oil change. I asked several times to confirm price and about $350 -$360 is what I was continually told. When we arrived they inspected the vehicle for about 45 mins and then told me I needed to change the brake pads, calipers, and rotors. It was priced at $971.28. Labor alone was 365.93. I told them I only wanted the breaks done and not the rotors or calipers and they told me that they would not do it unless they we replaced everything. It was a dramatic difference in price than what I REPEATEDLY asked on the phone. It should not cost almost $1000. We ended up paying $631 and that was just for the rear axle. Also that price was with a few discounts to include a military discount and it was still ridiculous.This is a RIP off and its sad because youre taking advantage of people during a pandemic. Customer service was good until I brought up price. I will never go here again nor will I recommend this place. Right before I left I heard them on the phone telling another person the same lie about the how much the breaks would cost. AGAIN....DO NOT GO HERE FOR BRAKES!!!!

Honest is what honest does. I got gifted an older car that I felt was in pretty good condition so I thought was worth putting a bit of money into. I took it Lakewood Transmission and Mike did a thorough examination of it. It did need about $1000 worth of obvious work -- serpentine belt, fluids, filters, etc.. The transmission seemed fine to me, but Mike opened it up to make sure and he found lots of debris in the pan, so he called me to ask me if I wanted to go ahead with the other work. He could have easily dismissed the transmission issues and collected the money for the rest of the work, but he would have known Id have transmission problems later. Rather than ignore the transmission issue, he called me to tell me the full story, even tho theyd make less money in the short term. I found it refreshing to see this level of honesty and professionalism. Ill be taking my other car to them from this time forward, knowing that they are honest to this degree. They helped me navigate through my warranty and did an amazing job. So friendly and explained everything since I dont know anything about transmissions.

Went in for battery and A/T oil temp issues, they found it was the alternator causing both issues. as soon as the alternator was fixed they told me they didnt need to do a transmission service as the alternator being bad is what caused the light to be on. transmission fluid was perfect so they saved me from having to pay extra for something that wasnt needed.

I tried to have my brakes done here. When I called they told me it would cost 150 per axle. After I dropped off my car they called me back saying that they were going to charge 700 for brakes because the calipers were gone. They then tried to tell me that I needed an oil change even though the oil change light had not come on, and the serpentine belt needed to be changed. The total they wanted to charge me was over $1000 to service a basic ford focus. I changed the brakes myself this week and found absolutely no damage to the calipers. They straight up lied.

They are friendly and accommodating. I was missed my appointment time and they still got me in and completed

From the first initial phone call with Kirsty, I believe thats her name, I felt like a valued patron. Mike took over and ensured all the necessary work was performed on my vehicle which have them a few headaches, but he kept me informed every step of the way and didnt take it out on my pockets. I am very satisfied with the work and appreciative of marvelous attention to customer service and customer satisfaction that I received. ILL BE BOCK!! Just got my truck back after a transmission rebuild. 1991 Chevy. Kept me informed the whole way. Being able to drive it away was a great feeling. Free towing with major work is also a nice bonus. 2year warranty. Great place, no BS.

The repair comes with a checkup and a 2-year guarantee. What could be better? Oh, the final cost was less than the initial bid.I highly recommend this business!

Stopped in this place because AAMCO was behind in their shop and wasnt going to be able to get me in for a few days and these guys were able to fit me right in. However, they charge $127.00 just to look at the vehicle, (which AAMCO WILL DO FOR FREE) Personally, I think thats crazy considering the cost of most transmission repair is quite substantial and most people cant just say thanks for telling me whats up and now Im gonna take it home and repairing it themselves due to cost. Im going to stick with AAMCO, theyre professionals and theyre nationwide and have been around a long time. So they must be doing something right, starting with not charging for an inspection.

We were referred to Lakewood Transmission after we had a Toyota dealership and a transmission shop look at our daughters car. Both the Toyota dealership and the transmission shop that we went to said it was the transmission and it would need to be replaced. 4500 dollars. We wanted to take it to Lakewood for 1 more opinion and I am soooo happy we did. They took the time to look at the car and not just listen to what we said the sound was. Come to find out that it was not the transmission, it was a quick fix and the cost was so much less then what the two other shops wanted to change. Thank you for honest and knowledgeable staff! I am so impressed with this place! I came in a for a few things and when I left my car was better than I originally got it. There was a clicking sound that we had for the last 4 years and took it to several places all with different answers and none of them worked ($1000 +) they said they knew what it was and something was telling me to believe them and I did. They fixed it!!!! The sound is gone! Who hoo!! Highly recommend Jim and his team to fix your car ethically!

During the covid situation the transmission of my suv had blown. After calling several shops in the area, I decided to chose Lakewood Transmision. This shop, towed my vehicle and also worked with me to ensure that the repairs were done correctly. Well original quote with 1,300 to fix my clutch and ended up being over 2,000 and it took 10 days it runs great.

I went in to get a simple AC recharge. was very impressed with the fast and friendly service I received. The price was in line with what I thought I should pay and I left with my car functioning as expected. The front desk has some of the friendliest service advisors Ive ever experienced and ive owned a BMW and a Saab. Ive definitely had more service work done in my life that I should have :D. I took my toyota tacoma to them after seeing my regular auto repair shop in kitsap county. I explained my issues Lakewood Transmission and they got right to it. Turns out all I needed was just a new torque converter and not a rebuilt transmssions as well.They drop the transmission and checked it out to see if a rebuild one was needed and it wasnt. They put everything back together and I was on my way. I even got their discount on a rental car for 5 days.I would recommend Lakewood Transmission to everyone.

Excellent service, They gave me a price to change the oil and filter in my 1969 chevy turbo 400. and when they were done thats all I paid. Refreshing! They did point out a number of things that needed to get done but, they didnt pressure me or chastise me about safety when I declined the additional service. They were still just as kind as when I arrived. And finally, before I left the Manager said that there might be a slight temporary smell in the cab due to some lubricant he had applied to my shifter. Wow, this truck has never shifted so smoothly. And this was no extra charge just saw a need that he could fix and took care of it. Awesome group of people.

I am finally getting around to posting this late review because we just recently got home from our vacation that Lakewood Transmission saved. Their staff were friendly and welcomed us in right away after explaining that I started to hear noise in an area I had worked on the previous week by a shop in California. They were able to fit us in that day and eventually not only found the issues the last shop left for us, but even pointed out some smaller problems. They went above and beyond to make sure they put us back on the road safely. They have water inside, and even offered a ride multiple times. After having such a hard time with the shop in California it was nice to be serviced by people who genuinely care not only about their work but their customers as well. Its hard to come by such great customer service, especially in the auto industry. I would definitely recommend Lakewood Transmission for all your auto needs.

Terrible experience in every way. My story is hard to believe. I went in to get my transmission fixed. So we go on a little drive so the mechanic can hear and feel the problem. He says its not the transmission, its the clutch. (I had just replaced the clutch a month earlier, so clearly a misdiagnosis.) He says it feels weird and then begins stomping on the clutch pedal. Long story short, something breaks while they were operating the vehicle. I literally cant even drive home now. They said it would be 650 to fix, but only 550 for me because they felt bad given the situation. How generous! I called A1 transmission down the street and they said they would fix the issue for 380. I had my car towed from the to a1. Over the next few days parts came in and they fixed the problem.The next day when I asked if they could pay for some of the damage caused by their mechanic, they refused. Lets say, I would not recommend.

Lakewood Transmission was very upfront about everything involving the price for rebuilding a transmission. Everyone there is great. The first time I called them, it was at the end of the day, yet they were willing to stick around, pick up the phone and answer all of my questions. Not only did they take time to answer all of my questions throughout the process and were even willing to go as far as having me come down to the shop where they laid out all of the bad parts and showed me what they planned on using. Everything went smoothly. They rebuilt my transmission and everything is still going well. I would definitely go back again and will recommend their services.

Loved the place. Friendly people. I just bought a used car and they did a full body inspection at no cost.

I took my car in to get my brakes done 6 months ago, I had to bring it back because they put the wrong brake pads on which caused it to squeak. They then called and said my back brake caliper bolt wasnt put in properly which caused uneven wear and tare on the breaks, rotors and calipers. They quoted me $629 to replace the brakes,calipers and rotors. Needless to say I had it towed home because the guy I spoke to said it was to dangerous to drive it home (I have been driving over a year with no problems). I had a family mechanic look at it and guess what I didnt need to replace anything, not even the brakes. I will not be bringing my car back to them because they completely lied and had me thinking I should have been in a accident, when that was not the case. I would not recommend anyone bringing there car here because they will tell you things need to be fixed when they really dont need to be fixed.

Kirstie helped me and she was amazing, not only did they not take advantage of me and try to upsell a rebuild or a new transmission, she told me the cost just doesnt warrant the work that the transmission price installed would be upwards of $5000, they diagnosed the problem quickly and charged me nothing. Great exceptional friendly honest service here. I will never go anywhere else.Thanks to Titus-Will service center for recomending them to me!
