First visit to this ice cream joint. Staff was super friendly and willing to explain how things work since it was our first time there. Lots of options. Fun to watch ice cream creation develop in front of you. I got the tiramisu and was not disappointed. Super creamy and delicious.Prices are a bit on the steep side. Would defiantly visit more with a lower price point or discount offer. On that note, they do offer a 10% discount on your next purchase (within 7 days) if accompanied by your receipt.
I highly recommend the Creamistry. Its delicious and novel. It made for a memorable date! Plus, its right next door to the bowling alley. To address the other reviews: It was $5.50 for a very large scoop. I timed it on my phone, and it took 15 minutes for them to make our ice cream, and it was a very busy night. My espresso ice cream was super good! Thicker and creamier than normal ice cream. My wife got mango sorbet which was also really good. We want to go back soon!
We came in right before a rush on a Saturday afternoon it was awesome. Guy was nice, and it was our first time so he explained how it worked. Pick your milk base and flavor, and then they turn it into ice cream with liquid nitrogen. I thought it was super delicious! I had Nutella w a waffle. It was fun and will definitely come again.
The most incredibly smooth and creamy ice cream Ive ever had! I couldnt believe how creamy it was. Its on the expensive side but worth it. Good selection of flavors. They have something called a Nitro Shake. It was pretty good but I liked the ice cream my kids got better. Theres also an option for a coconut-based ice cream that is a definite must try. The taste is not overwhelming when mixed with items on the menu that have a little coconut icon next to them. It helps to balance the flavor.
Fun nitrogen frozen ice cream, made right in front of you. They were super busy when we went on a warm, spring Saturday evening, so be warned--this is a popular place! The ice cream was surprisingly creamy and very rich. I recommend mixing in your toppings for extra fun. Great spot to bring the kiddos!
I’ve never seen ice cream made the way they make ice cream here it’s pretty amazing and quite the Experience. The place was definitely well kept everything was clean the guys that were preparing the ice cream were very friendly or maybe it’s because they get asked alot of questions about the equipment they use to make the ice cream but they were happy to answer any questions we had.
Clear glass & Counters stretch the length of the shop allowing for a clear view of the ice cream creation you select. Its definitely an extra treat to watch while treating yourself to creamy & delicious ice cream. There are many options and upgrades like the chocolate bowl, & brownie bowls. I prefer waffle cones & Was not disappointed. A must have experience during Texas summers .
Probably the creamiest ice cream I’ve tasted. The liquid nitrogen instantly creates a creamy, smooth texture since the ice crystals don’t get to form to the size where they become noticeable. It’s quite mesmerizing to watch a bowl of liquid instantly turn into a creamy, delicious treat!
We have been to Creamistry several times and have loved it! It is pricey but it was so good we were still willing to go but just not as often. However, this past weekend we went and took some friends and I was disappointed. The ice cream did not have the same good taste as it usually did. The employees working behind the counter had long hair and none of them had it tied back or in a net. One girl was obviously in charge but was constantly helping the other two girls with making their orders. It just felt like it was very unorganized and not nearly as professionally run as the times we had gone before. I always get sea salt caramel and this time I cannot even taste the sea salt caramel. My husband says his was not as good as the times before either. With a price point as high as it is, it should be consistently good! There is a sign posted that safety glasses are required for all employees to wear and none of the three girls were wearing them. It usually is a treat to go but this time it was a letdown on taste and whole experience.
I found it fascinating. They make the ice cream while youre waiting. They make it with frozen nitrogen. The ice cream was dense and creamy. I had the elemint-mint ice cream with cookie pieces and chocolate chips, whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. A little pricey -$7 for the regular, which was plenty. A special treat. I would go back cause there were lots of creations to try.
This place is great. The ice cream is delicious. Not only that but it is made right there and then and you can dress it up the way you like it. The staff here is really nice. It would get 5 stars, but it is a little pricey. I definitely recommend this place.
The ice cream here is delicious! Though its super rich and dense so get a smaller size than you normally would. The owner and staff were wonderful and didnt rush us to make a decision. Will definitely go back!
Best ice cream that I have ever had! I was sceptical about how the taste and consistency would be because its made with liquid nitrogen. This process however left a pure taste and a smooth consistency. Most places you buy ice cream it is filled with air and is not very satisfying. Creamistry however takes ice cream to new level. With many flavors to choose from, including organic milk, coconut milk and a sorbet blend, it is truly a one of a kind flavorful experience.
Very interesting concept. The owner explained the process in great detail which was very helpful. The ice cream was creamy smooth and delicious. Will definitely come here again and probably bring the grand kids.
This is such a cool place! The ice cream is GREAT! So much smoother and creamier than traditional ice creams or even Gelato! The flavors are fun, the pre-made combos are unique and its very clean. Adding to the enjoyment...the guys that work here are super nice and helpful. My whole family loves this place! ♡
$24 for 3 of the smallest size. Not cheap but not as bad as most reviews stated. If you go in & get a ton of toppings, itll add up. We ordered two ice creams with 2 toppings each & one creation recommendation off the wall. The size is fair, everyone left with sweet tooth sated. We didnt really watch the process. It was too hot to care how it was made.
I know it sounds like a gimmick, but it is really good! Because the ice cream is frozen using liquid nitrogen it makes the ice cream extremely creamy- and you can make pretty much any flavor you can think of! I had the taro with strawberries and it was life changing!
Yummy but way overpriced. Didnt walk out but probably should have (I didnt want to embarrass the cashier). Paid $21 for 3 single scoops (small cups) and one topping on two of them (not even all 3!). Paid double what I wanted to. Staff was very friendly. But, I will not be back.
Kind of hard to find.. even following Google maps. But the product was AMAZING! So good and now I know how to get here I will absolutely be back.
Stopped by today and got a single to go. They did a blast of liquid nitro on top which was great as it didnt melt at all in the almost 5 minutes it took me to get back home. But it made the ice cream a bit hard - I waited another 10 for it to get softer and then it was nice and creamy. However, it was expensive. I thought for $5.50, a single scoop would be a bit bigger than I got. And $1 per topping - way too much for the drizzle of chocolate fudge that was on top. Will I come back - most likely but not that often. Definitely not a spur of the moment - hey lets get ice cream! - kind of place. That being said, instead of 2 stars, I gave it an extra one because it was really nice ice cream.
Very interesting place to get ice cream!Id definitely recommend going there with family, friends and specially kids! The ice cream is really good and it gets extra points for the cool factor of all the science stuff.
We visit the place quite often, take friends and family whoever visit in Houston. Unique icecream joint and they make the icecream right in front of us. They have unique different toppings too. They started from Opp the Galleria and now have a location in City center too
The ice cream is some of the smoothest Ive ever had. But a dollar for a drizzle of chocolate syrup is a bit much. This will be a place I go to for big splurges - otherwise Im happy to pick up a gallon of Blue Bell ice cream at the HEB next door for the same price as a single scoop with a topping here.
Absolutely creamy-dreamy ice cream, for sure! Its obvious that the quality ingredients and the chemistry of it all is where the money is spent. I agree with others that its a bit overpriced for ice cream. The way it works is you pick your size, then base choice of cream, then flavor, then topper (extra$). It was our first time there and it was fun to watch the nitrogen freeze the cream as they made each batch. What wasnt fun was waiting about 15 minutes to be helped and the looking around to notice the entire place was dirty. Even the pickup counter had chocolate smeared on it. It looked like we came in at the tail end of a rush. So as we waited, one guy was in the back washing dishes and banging bowls around. If I could give him a recommendation from a customers perspective, it would be this, clean up the customer facing areas first, help your team member second and then do the backend/dishes work. I think this place could use a smaller size option too since regular is the smallest and it was still way too much cream.
They make your ice cream to order while you wait!!Have choices of low-fat milk, sorbet, organic.choice of flavors and lots of different toppings!!Its an experience as well as wonderfully delicious, great place to take children!!
New staff took over few days a go and things changed. Amazing new creations and toppings for 0.50 cents each. Creamistry is back at its best.
Ice Cream was amazing! And my son loved watching it be made. But... if youre going to serve espresso, train the employees on how to use the machine and how to serve the drinks.
This ice cream must be one of the best. Delicious Vegan options!
Great idea, very poor execution. The ice cream itself isnt that good, tastes funky and definitely not worth the cost. Now this particular location is horribly ran. A busy Saturday evening, a long line, 3 people were working! It looks like a guy who is around 30 to 35 working with his parents.Dishes piling up, and making 1 ice cream at a time. They have 4 or 5 ice cream machines, and only 1 in use.Save your money and time and go elsewhere.
The best experience, As ALWAYS !! Not a big fan of desserts but Creamistry Lakeway is my regular go to place !! With a friendly staff guiding on flavors to making it in front of you, can it be any better ? The best part about this place is the usage of coconut milk which elevates the flavor for me ! Highly recommended if you want the best value for money with good flavors !!
A fun and interesting place to visit the ice cream was delicious the kids really enjoyed watching how it was made a totally different taste and texture in ice cream really wonderful handicapped accessible and restrooms
Nice customer service and clean premises. Best place to bring family for some ice cream without suspicious ingredients
Came in about an hour before they closed, the employees were all nice and explained the process to ua. We had never been here. The ice cream was great! We had caption crunch with organic base, pistachio with coconut base, and a few others that were great. Will be back the next time we are in town.
The ice cream is AWESOME. Its expensive but theres hardly any air in it so its very filling. A regular size here is like a large most other places. Im here on a Saturday night tho and theres just three younger people working. Out of Waffle cones and they dont tell you when ur ordering, they wait till midway thru your order after youve paid and everything. I wouldnt say terrible customer service, Id just say its bad. And the young man is struggling taking orders. Sounds like hes not understanding what the customers are wanting and having to ask one of the other two girls for help every other order which obviously is increasing wait times for everyone. Great ice cream but get some dang help for these kids on a Saturday night.
The ice cream was OK, not the best, however it was refreshing. The price is a little extreme ($17 for 2 regular sizes no extra toppings). The staff there was the too friendly it feels fake, but its lakeway and some people like to be buttered up.
Great tasting, interesting ice cream process, so you get a show and ice cream in one place. ooh!
Very delicious I dont know how to explain it but it just tastes better
Interesting and yummy ~ A Coffee shake made in a mixing machine.
Ice cream was good, its one of these places you go because its cool tourists place. They freeze the ice cream in front of you. Its extremely slow process, so expect to to spend some time...Huge slide doors and a/c system that dont Handel the space and doors, so its hot! Very few place to sit. 4 adults and two kids ice cream only was over $60. Good ice cream, but with this price level- not going back. They also forgotten to place some of the topping my daughter order, as topping are quit expensive, and then wanting more time..... AnnoyingFlavor like orange blood is artificial syrup they add to the mix.
The ice cream was fine, but the place was filthy. All the tables were dirty, overflowing garbage cans, and the counter used for preparing the ice cream was a mess.
Great ice cream but man it was 20-25 min wait to make it lol
Opens at 12 pm...went in at 12:30, place is dirty. Tables have ice cream on them floor is dirty, garbages full. I guess they dont clean at nights for the next day. One employe working??
Very cool design and esthetic. Definitely a trendy establishment. The product is equally as impressive!
Customer service was outstanding! Super patient with a noob like me. Ice cream was so delicious!
AMAZING - Watch them make your ice cream while you wait, several choices to your liking. Best ice cream Ive ever had.
As others have said it is a bit expensive but well worth it. They are obviously using premium ingredients. Really good ice cream.
The best ice cream you will eat. But utt is really expensive. A family of four will spend between 30 and 50 dollars for ice cream. Its not to busy most of the time and they are really friendly. If you want the best ice cream and dont mind paying the pricey tab, this is the place to go.
Took the kids here after bowling. Overall the experience was fun and the ice cream was creamy.
The ice cream is probably the best youve ever had, and its fun to watch them make it, but it comes at a steep price, so be prepared to drain your wallet to bring the family here.
Very rich in flavor and calories, obviously. Regular size serving filled me up :)
Nutella with mixed in strawberries... It doesnt get better than that. Cool place. 11 out of 10 would come again.
Great ice cream and cool experience but the price is high
This was really cool. Ice cream made to order!
The best, creamiest ice cream made. Great choices of flavors and toppings.
Unique take on ice cream. Probably the snoothest texture possible with the cream.
It has an odd after taste but entertaining for the kids
Way too expensive. Staff was kinda rude too. $10 for ice cream is robbery. I dont care how special it is
Very good ice cream, price is justified considering that the ice cream is more dense.
Pricey but good fun desert
Superior smooth ice cream! Fun to watch them make the ice cream.
Lots of fun to see the ice cream made, and some of the creamiest ice cream you will ever taste.
Really good - kids loved it, great choices and flavors! My only complaint is the pricing seems high, but not enough to keeps us from visiting again.
The ice cream is really good and the novelty of nitrogen is fun. Its really expensive however.
Scott was fantastic! Excellent experience and excellent ice cream!
A little pricey but overall good ice cream
Truly...the best ice cream you will ever taste!
The Creamistry was suppose to open at 3:30pm, which is already late, and it is now 3:38 and the lights are still off. I came from north TX just wanting some Creamistry ice cream but did not get it😭😭😭
We had a small problem ordering online but quickly resolved it. The products were good and establishment clean.
The ice cream is good but is quite pricey.
This is singly handedly the greatest ice cream I have ever had in my life. Who cares about the price, this is 11/10 worth it!!!
Best mint ice cream ever! Pricey though...
Creamiest ice cream Ive ever had. Kind of pricy but its worth it to try definitely
It seems like the liquid nitrogen ice cream craze has officially invaded Central Texas. This is the second liquid nitrogen creamery I visited in as many months. I would say that Creamistry does have the better tasting and more interesting flavors than most ice cream spots. I mean where else can you go try some Cap n Crunch or Coco Puffs ice cream?I however opted for their roasted black sesame seed with chewy mochi as the topping. It certainly was very creamy, but I felt it shared more characteristics with gelato than with ice cream. The texture had a more oily taste and it lacked air pockets so it was certainly dense like gelato than say a slow churn ice cream. So if you are a fan of gelato, youll be a fan of this place.
They made your ice cream right in front of you, and it was creamy goodness!!
AH-MAZING ice cream & experience! Definitely worth a visit.
Fast service. Not too excited about the big servings.
Best ice cream I had. Process is little longer. It should be expected when you make ice cream fresh (?). Little expensive for an ice cream but worth it.
I like the the fact that it is not too sweet!
Gimmicky. Lame ordering process. You cant hear yourself think. Did they purposely design it to amplify every sound.
Its not just an ice cream, but they serve the ice cream like angel serve the ice cream in Haven. I love the Creamistry....
Good ice cream but way too expensive!!
Prices are ridiculous, for 2 regular icecream $21 so went to orange leaf and was great
Creamiest ice cream ever! So yummy!
Fun to watch and the ice cream is amazing!
Great ice cream, pleasant staff, outside seating.
Really cool concept and great ice cream!!
Good ice cream, but expensive. Doesnt justify the price. $18 for 3 small cups.
Fun to go once. Too expensive to go again.
Very expensive. Very, very good.
Good ice cream. Too expensive and takes too long.
VERY expensive, but tasty. I like super cold ice cream, and this fits the bill.
Not much to say except its the best ice cream. You have to try it.
Yummy ice cream and a great experience
